Food was good but not them prices ! The oysters were higher than in the menu just put tape on the menu with new prices . The bartender was our waiter for the night so took a little longer on getting served or bringing our food, and forget one of our orders came all late!

Calamari was really good and the green sauce has a nice kick to it

Everything was great and service was great, sadly there was no flan. The singer had a nice voice.

12.22.23: I wanted to try a molcajete as I never have before and recently saw one in a video online. After researching a few places I decided to try Mariscos El BarCo for my belated birthday dinner with a friend. As we walked in we immediately heard live music, which was unexpected and a total plus. There were 2 men playing a guitar and a keyboard. They sounded good and it made for a lively atmosphere. Although our server only spoke Spanish and me very little Spanish, we were still able to describe, show a picture, and easily order the molcajete I've been wanting to try. As for drinks, we both got the double Michelada and it was served in a huge tall mug and complimented our meal perfectly. The molcajete came out steaming hot. There were shrimps, cactus, chicken, steak, chorizo, and cheese, which all tasted really good and the chicken and steak were tender and not dried out! My only complaint was the shrimp with the prawn heads weren't cleaned very well, but the dish also included shrimp without the heads and they were clean with no vein. The molcajete broth was tasty and unique and not oily, so that's a plus! When we ran out of tortillas, they had no problem giving us more. Overall the service was good and despite the language barrier, our server was nice and friendly and answered our questions about the menu. Having live music with our meal was fun and made the ambience that much more enjoyable.

What a wonderful dining experience! I have always wanted to try out the local mariscos restaurants in Reno and Sparks and Mariscos El Barco caught my eye on my Yelp! app! And i am glad it did! Came here for a Sunday lunch with my son and ordered the Molcajetes Mar Y Tierra (for my son) and Camarones de Cora (for myself), Was craving something savory and spicy. Located on Greenbrae in Sparks, it has a ship like motif and when you hit the front door, you can smell the array of latinx spices. There was a three man band singing beautiful Mexican songs and the place was packed! My dish was bold and flavorful, I got a small size which included about 15 or more shrimp with tomatoes and cucumbers, and lime. My son's dish was sizzling and he said that the taste was authentic as he spent some time in Mexico last year. Mariscos are here to stay for me. I am glad to have gotten the opportunity to try this restaurant out and I will be back again!

I love the sea food in this place. As u all can tell it's not easy to find a place where the serve the full fish. So that's the spot if u looking for that. The grilled red snapper is 100% perfect. And their calamari is amazing. They only thing I would not order again is the oysters. But everything else was great. The stuff are nice but sometimes it's hard to communicate because not all of them Speak English. But honestly it's not. Big deal because u will still love what u get. Very recommended

Alright I get the hype! Thanks to Yelp I found this gem with fresh seafood and unique combinations. I had classics like seafood with steak and sizzling beef fajitas, but I also had the maripiña which just blew my mind. Basically it's seafood inside a pineapple shell, so it was juicy, sweet and savory. Their menu is expansive so they have other unique options if pineapples aren't your thing. A word of advice: this place does get very busy and seems understaffed, so you will wait a while for a table. But the service was just as excellent as the food, so the wait was worth it.

Fresh seafood done right! Located in the old pirate ship building in Sparks, this location has gone through many incarnations serving a wide variety of foods. This is the best iteration to date. I expect this one to last... We got there around 6:30pm for dinner and I'm sure glad we did! Within a half hour of our seating, the place was packed with happy diners. Service was friendly, efficient and on point...everything we ordered came in a timely fashion and in the correct order, with ample time to eat each course before the next one showed up. A fabulous 3 piece band was playing a wide variety of music from classic Mexican to assorted pop tunes to entertain us...just the perfect volume and outstanding musicians. The extensive menu is a little vague...no explanations of the dishes...just lots of pictures. No problem...if it looks good in the picture, then order it was our approach. I started off with one of my favorite Mexican beers...Victoria (in the bottle)...with the commemorative Dia De Los Muertos (Day Of The Dead) label left over from the holiday. ($5.50) My dining companion had a Margarita. ($8.80) Served in a classic Margarita glass with the blue frosted rim and a couple of lime wheels...my taste was excellent. Our first course: Ostiones Preparados (6 pieces-$17.95) Stuffed Oysters served in the shell. So many flavors, balanced beautifully with great textures. I have no idea what was in them (again, no explanations on the menu, just pictures), but I loved them. So fresh and a squeeze of fresh lime added a perfect citrus pop! 2nd course: (Seafood) Empanadas (small-2 pieces-$7) Perfectly cooked...crispy shell stuffed with delicious seafood, 2 dipping sauces included. Another flavorful dish! 3rd course: Molcajetes Mar Y Tierra ($36.21) Translation? Sea and Land. Served in a hot Molcajete bowl, plenty of food for the 2 of us! Overflowing with fresh seafood, including perfectly cooked head on shrimp, with Nopales, veggies and an assortment of meats. Again, a squeeze of fresh lime added a perfect citrus pop to the flavors! Dessert: Flan ($5.99) Not your regular way to serve flan...this was delicious, creamy, with a healthy dollop of whipped cream, 2 cherries and a dash of cherry sauce on top! Every bite of our meal was tasty, prepared well and the atmosphere made it a fun experience! I'll be back...you should check it out to see what YOU think...

This was perhaps the most interesting meal I've had in Reno, and it beats the fancy places in downtown/midtown! Red Snapper is must try! Excellent service once I realized the food was being prepared fresh. The extra few minutes are worth lt!

Authentic, fresh, and great service! This place has everything seafood lovers can imagine. The menu is fairly priced for the serving sizes. The inside ambiance feels like the inside of a ship with lots of great character, wonderful music, and it fills up very quick. A locals favorite for sure. Excellent for date night or celebrations too.

Where else in Reno/sparks can you find a real cultural experience and eat inside a pirate ship? Mariscos El Barco is that place. This place is authentic--from the servers who speak to you in Spanish to the Mexican band to the legit food--this place is the real deal. For drinks, we got dos michelada. The tajin rim was more like a salt rim with a little tajin rim but that's alright. The michelada itself was a little too peppery for my liking. For food I got the molcajete cora, which was my first time having a molcajete. The spicy sauce was very good and the shrimp was super flavorful. I wasn't a huge fan of the mussels and clams--they seemed a bit too chewy--but otherwise it was very good. Although the band is a nice touch, it felt a bit too loud for such a small space. All in all, I enjoyed El Barco and would definitely go back!

Came in for lunch on a Sunday- pretty busy! Live music was also going on which was pretty neat. Ordered the oysters, Camarones aguachiles and ceviche de pescado. The aguachiles were excellent- just the right amount of spice for me! The ceviche was fresh and the oysters as well. Highly recommend!

Meals shared with family always seem to taste better. Family dinner here at Mariscos El Barco was no exception. We started with shrimp empanadas for the table. They were good, but they were way too greasy for my liking. Shrimp cocktails all around! They were a decent serving, but I was disappointed that they were bland. We used the juices from our shrimp entrées to flavor our shrimp cocktails. The shrimp entrée was the best! The sauce had the perfect amount of spice; the flavors were out of this world! My mouth is watering, reliving the flavors as I write this review. It had been several years since the last time I sat in this dining room, but I will always prefer this location over their Sparks location. We had a great server who was the perfect amount of attentive but not overbearing when he checked on us. We overdosed on mariscos, and I know I will be back for this shrimp entrée! If you're ever here, order the Langostinos entrée.

Menu prices have changed sign on the door, but no changes made on the menus they provide.

Since Legends was offering an all you can eat option and a buy two sushi rolls for $12.99, we decided to give Legends a try. Everyone had a couple of sushi rolls and I decided to sample different nigiri sushi so I can gauge the freshness and quality. Salmon, if not fresh (or as fresh as can be in Reno) can be oily and fishy. This wasn't it. It can tell it was previously frozen due to the texture. As fresh texture has more resistance when biting down vs previously frozen tends to be softer, less bounce when biting. But it was good or even better than some other local sushi offerings. Tako or boiled octopus, is almost never fresh caught / cooked at any restaurant other than Japan. Even in the Bay Area, Tako is usually bought cooked but not frozen. This is where it can affect the quality. If frozen, it can make the tako kind of stringy and mushy. When it's not frozen the tako is firm and slightly chewy. I can tell this tako travelled a little but it wasn't frozen. Unagi or grilled eel, is almost always purchased cooked by most restaurants other than what I've had in Japan. Similar to tako, it is usually shipped refrigerated but not frozen. All restaurants will serve unagi over rice with a drizzle of unagi sauce. The flesh should be tender and any bones will be super thin and not a problem to eat. There weren't any bones which is a plus. This unagi didn't appear to be previously frozen. We also has the edamame, which is tossed in garlic and salt with some oil. Very tasty on a simple dish. If cigarette smoke bothers you, there wasn't any in the restaurant but apparent everywhere in the casino, so plan ahead. The tables were about 30% capacity and even with that, the order to service gap was fairly long. Our server was pleasant and willing to explain how the player's card program worked. Would I come back for sushi here? Sure, but I better be hungry to get full value from the all you can eat.

The staff and restaurant were lovely as always, and you really can't beat the views from dining on the outdoor patio overlooking the Marina. If you have general hesitations when it comes to buffet food, you can put them at ease when at the Water Bar, as even the typical 'filler food' like salad and mashed potatoes were out-of-this-world good. I'm not kidding when I say their buffet-style Caesar Salad was better than any made-to-order Caesar I've had. Same goes for their garlicy mashed potatoes, they were heavenly! The poached prawns were prepared perfectly, and the snow crab legs and claws were delicious and easy to eat (if you're used to shelling your own crab). The soy-glazed salmon with wild rice was surprisingly flavorful and melted in my mouth. Even the mac & cheese was rich and creamy- I can't think of a single item I tried that was sub-par. I ended the meal with a slice of carrot cake that I kept thinking about long after I left. It was moist and well-spiced with a very decadent frosting, the perfect end to a delicious brunch. I will say, we weren't aware the cost per person for the buffet was $80 (it wasn't displayed on the buffet menu, our server didn't share this when telling us about the buffet, and we didn't ask). We have no regrets on opting for the brunch buffet, as again all the food was truly incredible. However, an $80 price tag will likely keep us from opting for the brunch buffet again in the future.

I got mine with caramelized onions, baked potato, and fresh veggies. We both got it medium rare. She got hers topped with Point Reyes Blue Cheese crumbles. Her daughter got Filet of Petrale Sole Meuniere. First came a basket of bread. But, two of us are gluten-free. The Waiter made a point to check with the kitchen on all our meals. The steak came out smelling like garlic. It looked so much better than the picture I posted. It was so tender it cut with a butter knife. The color of the steak inside was perfect medium rare. The flavor on the taste buds is what dreams are made of. Some meals we remember for a lifetime. Because every bite is just that scrumptious. I can still almost taste it by just thinking about it. For dessert, we got the classic Bananas Foster, which is made tableside. It is dinner and a show. Bananas Foster is such a decadent treat. The show begins with the melting of the butter, and the aroma will still your breath away. Then add in the brown and white sugars. Several alcohols are used. I believe they use Banana liquor as well as rum. Then a fire is lit in the pan. It sparks when the cinnamon is added. Then the bananas are cooked ever so lightly. Sometimes, too much liqueur is added, and the flavor is off. However, on this night, it was spot on. The sugars and liqueur create a caramel sauce for the bananas, and vanilla ice cream is added. The ice cream that was used tasted like a French Vanilla ice cream with little flecks of vanilla. Each bite was a walk on a cloud. My friends had never had Bananas Foster before. I think they will be back if only for the Bananas Foster. The bananas and caramel with a kiss a vanilla ice cream just send your taste buds to heaven. Each bite will have you desiring more, even if you are beyond full. Each bite is so divine. It tastes so decadent that your mind will be blown that it is bananas and vanilla ice cream. I can't remember the name of our waiter. He was such a delight and made sure we had a great time. This was a meal I will remember for a long time. Thank you to the staff at Duke's Steakhouse. Otherwise he took his sweet time, he'd only rush if another VIP waiting to skip the line showed up. It was often, this buffet is popular and the skippers show up in force, especially late. Server Attention Tax: the servers on a normal day work hard, they close at 9:00, they warn you when 9 approaches and it's a wrap, on the seafood buffet days they are not motivated, because they stay late. They act like they aren't getting paid for the extra time. I sat down around 8:25 and no one took my drink order till like 8:40. I was worried I would get a single plate but to my surprise they didn't shut down shop right at 9:00 in fact they were still seating people. So that was cool. But the servers are in no rush. I don't want to get all Mr. Rogers about it, but if you get me my beverages sooner, I'll get out of your hair sooner, you are literally prolonging your own suffering here. The seafood Tax Rebate: the seafood is good, fresh fish, crab legs and all the regular sides. Crab is offered seasoned crab boil style or plain steamed, make sure to wander around. Overall: I love to eat good, I'm not crazy about flights, hotels or hardware stores because I don't think value necessarily is affected by where you go. (There are a few exceptions) I think service flavors cuisine, Here the service isn't adding a respectively great flavor. Sure if you spend a lot of money here you should get some priority but even Vegas doesn't forget about the little guy. I felt sorry for the people with kids in the line. Even though my server was slower than forest growth I still tipped them. But like value lost the taste was unpleasant. If you don't like being exposed to prejudice I assure you the 'regular line' WILL make you feel like you have no civil rights. But if you're able to suffer all that for a few rounds of delicious crab then you should go right on ahead, don't let me stop you

Our souls kids love the sushi all you can eat deal, so our gang of 6 took it. Our server promptly brought us drinks and food. To be honest, I was skeptical with sushi all you can eat, but once the food arrived, my concerns disappeared. Just looking at the ginger and wasabi tray, I could predict that it would be delicious and fresh. We couldn't believe that we ate everything including an extra bowl of clam chowder and a few scoops of Greenpeace ice cream. Hotel food is usually boring, but not at the Peppermill. Great job!

I've read and heard about this place, finally made a stop here…read more Started with sourdough bread and butter, both were amazing. Enjoyed that with the Justin Cabernet. Delicious. I ordered the small fish and chips meal. Came with cole slaw - maybe the best I've ever had. Also included a lobster bisque (optional) at no extra charge...also perhaps the best I've ever had. ) Still working on that as i type. One piece of fish (and another glass of Justin). It was so good and plenty of food. Alex was my server but it was pure teamwork as I was never felt to be unattended. And to be able to travel the world without leaving my seat just added to the incredible ambiance that is Oceano. You gotta go. I don't often write a
