This was one of my favorite stops in Oceanside! It's right near the ocean, a perfect stop after a nice walk, a good run, some surfing, or just passing through. Yummmmm good food great ambience!!! I go here on Saturday mornings to grab a bite and some beach. Parking lot attached but usually full on the weekend due to the park. The people that work here always seem happy and joyful. I mean if I worked across the street from the beach, id be stoked!! Anyways, I usually get the bucc muff because it is a reasonable price and fills me up. I enjoy being able to choose fries as a side for only $1.75 coffee is pretty good and salsa is made fresh every day. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because for being a shack the prices are a little high on the burritos and the lack of parking. Otherwise I enjoy this on my lazy weekend. read more

Visiting Oceanside for the week and looked online for a good breakfast spot close to the water. This was the best option I found and it did not disappoint. Wife and I had 5 teen boys with us and everyone loved their breakfast. We had breakfast tacos and the burritos and some fries. All of it was great but the homemade hot sauce stole the show. That stuff is probably the best hot sauce I've ever had. They don't sell it otherwise we would have bought a couple bottles to take home. read more

Did a little impromptu pass by and there was a long line but it was a Sunday around lunch time, either way the service was very efficient because I was in line for approximately 20 minutes and got my drink within 2 and food less than 10. I got a California burrito, it was good but I think a couple bucks overpriced priced for the size but it was delicious nonetheless. Acai smoothie was great, orange juice tasted fresh and the Mexican mocha was good. You can't get more hyper local than Buccaneer Cafe. It's an Oceanside local favorite, so if you want to live like a local for breakfast and lunch (they close in the early afternoon), this is your spot. The breakfast burritos and coffees are delish. This time around I opted for the avocado toast. I like that the offer a gluten free bread option for those of us who need to cut back on occasion. There was avocado on avocado on avocado on this thing!!!! Buccaneer Cafe is walk-up counter style restaurant with charming picnic tables (and umbrellas) out front. It's situated across the street from Buccaneer Beach and shares a parking lot with the park. I believe there are restrooms for customers. Beverages usually come out quick, food tends to take a little longer but is always worth it. If you are from out of town, the California price on your bill can be jarring. But just know that you are paying for the tasty food, good service, and killer view. This is my favorite spot to go for a Uber casual beach breakfast any day of the week (except when it's raining). So I've been a fan of the food and the service at The Bucc for years. Always a friendly, family vibe. But today was ABOVE and beyond. I gone stung by a stingray on my paddle out which ended my surf session before it even started. I went up to the counter thinking I'd get a cup of hot water to pour on my foot before I got in my car to drive home. Well, the crew brought out a bucket filled with hot water. The bucket had "Stingray Bucket" written on with instructions not to use for food prep. I had a quick soak and was on my way. Thanks again Buccaneer Cafe. I'm a customer for life. read more

Just had lunch here with a few friends. We probably get together here at least once a month. Food is always great! They have a great selection of food from, breakfast sandwiches, burritos, and amazing acai bowls. When I am feeling hungry, like I was today, I always go for the Kitchen Sink Burrito! It is YUMMY! There can sometimes be a wait here, but it is well worth it, and you can't beat the view! Outside dining area is small, but always well kept! Food is okay a bit over priced 13 dollars for a burrito is fine as long as it's a big burrito Service waiting 30-40 minutes for a burrito to come out 9 people waiting for food I get that. Just know if there's a a lot of people service time is at least gonna be a 40 minute wait. so service was friendly I'll leave it at that. Ambiance 10/10 can't complain with ocean view and clean area in front the bathrooms on the other hand they could give a fuck less I assume it's cause it's city so they could claim "it's not our problem" kinda mentality but for the most part the wait was the real drag. I went saw the ocean for a good minute, sat around made a few phone calls and still ended up waiting 20 minutes for an overpriced and filler burrito that consisted mostly of egg and potato. A dollar and 70 cents to make a burrito I paid 12 bucks for. Okay a lady come out during the time of writing this and asked about 4 people for if they were waiting for food. For a Monday morning I thought this place would be empty. Update she was nice to me but a total dick to an old guy trying to order. What a cute little hidden gem in Oceanside. I guess it isn't so hidden since there was a bit of a line each day I went... However, it was worth the wait! This Bucaneer Cafe is dreamy with a view of Bucaneer Beach and Bucaneer Park. Delicious lattes. I enjoyed my iced vanilla oat milk latte and staff were incredibly friendly to bring out my drink. There are only a few spots for outdoor seating, so my fam and I took our drinks out and we sat at benches at Bucaneer Beach. We also walked around Bucaneer Park of green grass and side walks which is dog friendly. Love how there is beautiful mural art here and a lake with duckies.
