I've been here many times before and for some reason, I keep coming back. Maybe its because of their bubble tea and delicious food for affordable prices? This place can get extremely noisy and busy even early in the afternoon. You often have to wait to be seated. So if you're looking for a place to have a meeting or a nice date, this is not where you'd want to go. They do take-outs though. So you could drop by and order right from the receptionist or call-in your order by phone and just pick it up at their location. Unfortunately, no delivery :(. As for the staff, it all depends who's working during your stay and how cranky your server is. But I've noticed that in this location, servers usually tend to be more friendly than the other locations like kingsway (metrotown). Im not saying they're super friendly that will do anything for you and always greet you with a smile. No no. Im saying they just wouldnt bug you as much and they wouldnt roll their eyes on you when you have too many requests (of course it depends on your server). But anyway, like other servers in other bubble world locations, they also frown upon you when you end up not leaving a tip. The location in kingsway EXPECTS you to leave a tip. At least in my experience, our server actually stood and wait for us to give her our change. Jeez. We gave her some change in the end but she asked for more. tsk tsk. But that was the one near metrotown. In surrey, I've yet to experience that again. As for the food, they're all good. I always order Takoyaki (around $5) and their sweet and sour chicken leg (around $7). The serving of the sweet & sour chicken is HUGE! You could share it with 2-3 people maybe. Okay maybe just for 2 people. but you do need extra rice if you would share which is around $1.25 I think? around that. Sometimes you'd get the chicken swimming in the sweet & sour sauce OR sometimes mostly chicken with the sauce sprinkled on top. That's what I have experienced. Their bubble tea is affordable and yummy. I always get milky taro slush. Overall, if Im craving bubble tea, this is where I would go, even if it's just for take out. I would prefer going to this location rather than the one near metro town for 2 reasons. Better service, somewhat bigger location. I deducted 2 stars because even for a bubble world joint, I always expect quality service. Even for just the slightest bit of good and effortful service. Dont you agree? But for their business, I dont think they care as much about service because their products sell themselves. So I guess I'd say props to the chefs/cooks! Oh! and minus 1 star for lack of cleanliness. They dont clean the tables very well, they just wipe it with wet cloth (which looks like they havent rinsed before using again) and they expect customers to sit down and eat there. Lastly, their cups that they serve us water with are TOO SMALL. I had no idea Bubble World had a location in Surrey - then again, I think anything beyond SFU as a vast wasteland afflicted by only mega-chains serving up burgers and pasta. Anyways - this location is pretty busy - not as busy as the Kingsway location, but I guess sufficiently busy considering the lack of bubble tea options in the area. It's pretty similar to the Kingsway location - the servers are pretty aloof and it's about ~$5 for a beerstein-size glass of bubble tea. This is nice as I tend to slam down drinks (I have yet to master the concept of 'sipping') and I usually end up finishing my drink before everyone else at other bubble tea joints. The drinks at Bubble World are large enough so they don't even have to offer a size upgrade option. And honestly, everything tastes better coming out of a frosty beerstein. Anyways - I normally skip the menu and just default to a coffee & milk tea [yeng yeerng] or black sesame as the Kingsways Bubble World makes pretty solid ones. However, I found a drink on the menu that sounded so retardly stupid that it had to work: Taro & Oreo Milk Tea. A wee bit on the sweet side (should have ask that they held back on the syrup) - but having small Oreo chunks in my taro milk tea was surprisingly good. And they custom made my friend's favourite that was no longer on the menu: blueberry chocolate smoothie. Just for the location and the inventive flavour pairings - A-OK in my book. read more

So it's usually busy on the weekend and on late nights, but service is usually quick, so waiting long is not really an issue. Portions are satisfyingly large, but bubble tea is just adequate- unless you're getting a fresh fruit bubble tea, most of the flavours are just too sweet and overly food-coloured. I came here with my girlfriend because I was in town. I love all the locations but we didn't enjoy tonight's visit. I'll start with the service. We ordered as usual at the till upon ordering, and tipped. Big mistake on my part. We sat down to a dirty table, and when we asked our server to clean it, she told us to clean it ourselves, which was odd, because we saw her clean every other table. Our buzzer rang, and we had to pick up the food ourselves. She never offered us any water, or the customary sauces that they usually provide. My girlfriend had to go up and ask for the hot sauce herself. Poor service. Now for the food part. Everything tasted as it should, but I find they are getting cheap on the togo portions. I actually prefer this Bubble World to the one in Burnaby. I've had the exact same food at the Burnaby location and this location, and this one is a lot tastier, and the portion sizes are larger! The fish fillet combo is my go to! It comes with 3 HUGEE pieces of fish fillet! The batter is crispy, fragrant and super yummy! The tartar sauce that is comes with is seriously addicting! Being from Southern California I had to see what boba is like up here. That's right I said boba, you guys call it bubble tea or whatever. Already it was like an awkward experience, but I shrugged it off pushed on and ordered what I would normally get back home. I personally got almond with pudding, my cousins got a mango slush and a standard milk tea with half milk, tapioca, and two other add ons that I can't remember. My drink wasn't necessarily bad, it was just different. The almond tastes more like the almond jelly that asian people eat that looks like pudding. The stuff that is usually eaten with fruit cocktail. So the sweetness of the drink was different from what I was expecting. Instead of something that is like a normal milk tea with possibly syrup flavoring, this tasted like something that was made from a powder. Not my cup of tea if you know what I'm saying. The mango wasn't bad either, just tasted like a different type of mango then I'm used to in my drinks. Sorta like the difference between a tommy atkins and a ataulfo. The milk tea though was something I didn't like. They liked it more bitter and less sweet. Which I found odd cause what kind of little kid doesn't like sugar? Foodwise I honestly can't remember all that I ate. I believe there was wonton soup, takoyaki, this thing that reminded me of egg roll with beef in it? And a couple other things I can't remember. Wontons were not good at all, felt that some frozen ones that I've had before were better and broth was pretty whatevs. Takoyaki could have been better, or at least the sauce. I've been here twice!! I'm almost indifferent. I wish they had some desserts to compliment all the other food on the menu. And they don't have vanilla milk tea.. I had hot (warm) coconut milky tea tonight and SHRIMP DUMPLINGS (apparently NEW as per indicated on the menu). drooldrooldrool. I was already full from dinner somewhere else, but shrimp dumplings at a non dim sum time..friggin awesome. Too bad it was $5 for 3 pieces...who am I kidding ..I'd probably order it again!! Wow..the shrimp dumplings were good...it took them like 15 mins + to get it to the table though (I;m more just saying than complaining). The coconut milky tea was super delish too. Last time I got something hazel-nutty and pudding..I dunno. As per a friend's choice (don't listen to friends-listen to instincts lol). Well I usually get taro when I go for BBT...so what can I say..I'm not very adventurous. I prefer stable and delicious. I also prefer quiet dim places. This place is the opposite. They need to fix the "MOCHA LATTE" typo on the menu which is supposed to read "MATCHA" and also..it should just be taken off altogether because apparently they don't sell it anymore (?!?!?) This place is one of the best place in Guildford area coz its open till 1am which is awesome for people who needs to eat real dinner food rather than ordering from fast food joints.. If you're in sugar rush for Bubble tea, then this is the place to be, coz they serve it in a large mug or glass so you can surely enjoy all of it.. Food presentation is OK, compare to just an asian restaurant with a sloppy food arrangement.. Food taste is a hit and miss.. probably it depends on the time you're ordering definitely would advise to come in when its not busy so the cooks could really focus on what they're cooking.. peace! read more

We were there this week Wednesday and ordered take out around 10pm at night. That's was all we ate that night and next day. My family and I got food poisoning. We were rushed to hospital that late afternoon including my hubby that was already sick and recovering from surgery. It was the worst experience. Now I know it was late. I can't believe the amount of times I have been to this restaurant in the past couple years. There is a reason why I do. First of all the food here is great. There is a variety of different dishes to be found here ranging from yummy fried rice all the way to tasty sandwiches. My all time favorites here are the chicken nuggets, the house special sandwich, and the shrimp dumplings. The location of the restaurant is very convient being close to the new Guildford Town Centre as well as being close to transit making it very easy to get to. I come here for a lot of many occasions. I come here a lot with friends, especially in large groups, as well coming here alone just to eat. Now this place isn't all about food of course. Their wide selection of bubble tea makes you want to try them all, which I am currently doing. From milk tea to slushes, and ice cream slushes to warm milk tea, they'll have a drink for any mood that you're in. Of course you can put pearls in them but they also have coconut jelly, grass jelly, mango jelly, rainbow jelly (one of my favorites), and even red beans. My favorite drinks are the green apple slush with rainbow jelly, honeydew slush with coconut jelly, matcha green tea slush, and the avocado milk slush. The prices here are very worth your money and I think that I am getting my money's worth here everytime I come. Although this restaurant has a lot of great food and drinks, they also have cons like any other restaurant. The service to be honest isn't always great. When the restaurant is full, usually is at night, you'll be waiting for a bit, might even have to wait outside. Once inside, they might forget about you or not check up on you but that hasn't happened in a long time. Another thing that I didn't really like is the removal of their lunch time special. What that gives you is any dish on their lunch time special menu, for example their chicken nuggets, squid legs, sandwiches, etc and you get a drink worth $4.95 for free (which is basically any kind of bubble tea they have) all for around $7! Wow that was the best thing ever. I have been to their other branches in New Westminster and Coquitlam and both places have the lunch time special so I guess it was just too popular at the guildford branch so they took it out. So now those same meals are worth around $12. I don't mind that because it does get me full but I would like that extra discount on my food whenever I can get it. Overall this place has always supplied me food when I need it and has quenched my bubble tea cravings whenever I need it. The countless times I count.here and getting to see many familiar faces from other regulars makes the atmosphere that much more lively.
