    Winter Melon Milk Cap ($4.75)
    Gloria F.

I was craving for bubble tea and this place totally hit the spot. It was my first time here and the ladies here were so helpful I got the Wintermelon Milk cap ($4.75). It was sweet and refreshing with a layer if salted cream at the top. I have never tried a winter melon drink and I was pleasantly surprised The other bubble teas were $3.80 and my friend enjoyed it. I would totally come back to try their food! It's located in a small plaza and there's a fair amount of parking

Lazy Den still is open for Covid and a great spot for bubble tea! They've been here forever and I highly recommend checking this place out!

Since this place is called a Bubble Tea house I was surprised that there were sandwiches and noodle options. I later realized that this little cafe was like a shop for 小食 and 消夜. The shop is family-owned by Taiwanese people and they were both friendly and kind :) I thought the noodles might taste horrible since it was only $5, but it tasted LITERALLY SO GOOD. Made me reminiscent about the street food noodles from Taiwan. Maybe I was hungry but it was so good I just INHALED the noodles. Just FYI if you wanted to know, the regular was $5 and the large was $6.65. It really is a steal for the quality and amount they give you!! It's not the best looking boujee shop but the food and drink they make is pretty good and very authentic. For the price it was excellent. I would 100% come here again for a late night snack

Combo bubble and noodles $6.55 ..not bad!! Very delicious

    Review Highlights - Lazy Den

I agree that it really does have a monopoly in Port Moody for bubble tea since it has been around for quite a long time.

The interior is big, clean and modern decor. Menu is big with delicious options and reasonable prices. Food also came out quickly! My only feedback would be is if they had some photos on their menu to be more clear as to what the dishes are and how they are prepared.

What's appealing here is that their Instagram advertises daily specials so you can get some dishes for a great discount (like 40% off). We tried the braised combo (pork ear, pork intestines, fish cake), Taiwanese egg wrap, braised pork sauce rice with deep fried pork chop, and yam taro mochi balls. The braised combo is pretty solid - I didn't really like the funkiness to the intestines (I generally enjoyed it in barbecue settings) but the fish cake was fantastic. I also liked the texture of the pork ears. The Taiwanese egg wrap was a bit tasteless, so I wouldn't recommend. Braised pork sauce rice is the lu ruo fan which is a large portion with seaweed, bean sprouts, and soup on the side. Pork chop was flavorful and juicy but not crispy batter, which is okay. Yam taro mochi balls were sweet and chewy. I don't like taro but I loved this dessert! Service is okay. They give a water jug for self pour but the water jug was of questionable cleanliness. The specials were not discounted so we called it out and we weren't told that we had to put the order with a server, not the QR code, so it was a strange interaction. They ended up honoring the discount. Also, they shut down ordering 1 min before 10:30pm - guess they didn't want more money as we wanted to order 1 more dish and they preemptively told the kitchen to close. Sure it's fine no big deal, it was a lot of food.

Best place for congee or any type of HK style breakfast. Prices are fair and the specials give you a whole lot of bang for your buck. Lunch and Dinner: MISS. When I test out a new chinese restaurant, I usually order the tomato and eggs on rice because it's a staple (I grew up in China) for me. It was extremely disappointing and a little gloopy? The tomatoes were overcooked and mushy and the eggs were blended into the sauce which made the texture thick in a bad way. Couldn't finish it and tomato and eggs on rice is one of my favorite dishes so I was pretty heartbroken. Overall, they definitely specialize in HK/Canto style dishes which they do extremely well but everything else is meh.
