Robson Bubble World is a legit Taiwanese restaurant that happens to serve bubble tea. We had the spicy beef noodle soup and salt and pepper chicken which were indistinguishable from flavors I expect in Taipei. I also enjoyed the mango dessert, it's a twist on mango pomelo sago with grapefruit and coconut milk. Service was quick and friendly, with no one in line. Prices are 2020 prices, which I appreciate. stepping into bubble world on robson feels like slipping back to a simpler time, before the days of gold dusted foam and over the top bbt creations, there was this. one of vancouver's og taiwanese bubble tea spots, bubble world has been around since 1995, serving up the staples, milk teas, slushes, and taiwanese fusion snacks, with no frills, just comfort. the japanese music playing in the background gave it a chill, familiar vibe. drinks run between $5.25 and $7, toppings extra. i went with a matcha green tea ice cream shake, no pearls, no fancy add-ons, just the way i remember it. if you grew up in vancouver, chances are you've been to bubble world, at this or other location at some point, maybe even spent long hours here sipping tea and killing time, playing card games, etc. bubble world isn't trying to keep up with the trends, and that's exactly its charm. still standing after all these years, doing what it does best. read more

Excessively sweet and the pearls were stale and tough to chew. Disappointed as last time we had a choice of level of sweetness and the pearls were super fresh. Time to find an alternative. read more

Nice & fun interior, there are games to play whether foosball or video games. Prices are reasonable, I got a strawberry milk tea and it was as standard as you would expect. Next time I go I would get something else. Service was normal, I wanted a milk alternative so I asked the cashier for their opinion but they just told me all milk alternatives are fine. So I flipped a coin in my head and picked almond milk - wouldn't recommend this with strawberry at all. If you're from the states, you'll understand when I say this place is similar to tapioca express shops. This shop is located in Robeson at where there are at least 3 milk milk tea shops on the same street. I sense this shop survives since it beats out the others by staying open till 2am on a Saturday. We had walked by this place during the day and it wasn't busy at all. Once nightfall hits and young'ns want a late night snack or a place to hangout, this seems to be where they go. They sell asian food and drinks. It's cute how they have words to distinguish milkshake vs milk tea = milk vs no milk. Guess newbies that's not clear. They also have a couple of board games to keep people entertained. We had the black sesame with boba and oolong milk tea. The boba could be a tad sweeter but it is nice and bouncy. Think drinks are overall well make and you can hear the shacker shaking up drinks. If you're Asian and have late night cravings side Asian snack foods and sweet drinks this place can't do you wrong. read more

So glad I didn't let the hole in the wall vibe deter us from coming in here, the bubble tea was actually pretty decent! Lots of options to choose from: slush (not milky), milkshake (milky), milk tea & fruit tea. I was able to customize a dairy free oreo taro shake with oat milk - delicious! They also sell hot food here which I didn't get to try. There's also board games that were scattered about; a mini arcade game that wasn't working, a broken mini foozball table. I'm not a fan of some flavors for drinks because it can come across as superficial, coconut being one of them. I tend to generally lean towards regular house milk tea. Being a tourist, I felt brave and gave her recommendation a shot. It was absolutely delicious! It almost tasted cookie-ish. I probably could have gone a touch less sweet since I generally don't have a sweet tooth, but I highly recommend this drink. The Jasmine milk tea tastes like the typical kind and but was actually fairly light considering we didn't modify the sweetness. I've tried many of the slushes on their menu and I can confidently say Bubble World offers some of the best slushes. I recommend their taro oreo, passion fruit, and milk tea slush. Their pearls are soft and chewy. I also tried their salty peppery chicken nuggets, which were crispy and juicy. I've been here on 2 separate occasions already and each time, my order was done to perfection! I had their Chinese pancakes as well as their beef rolls in Chinese pancakes. They were both delicious with very drastic presentations. The pancakes themselves were cut in triangle pieces so kinda like pizza but smaller and not as stuffing - enough for a snack after drinking on the town. The beef rolls were mouth watering! Wish I had ordered 2 portions instead...filling but not to the point where you feel bloated. I also go the original milk tea and sesame milk tea! They were incredible and strongly flavoured - which is good because no one likes a diluted drink. The drinks here are also reasonably priced with tons of "bubble" options. You can also personalize your orders by adjusting the sweetness and cold levels. Free WiFi with plenty of seats and mini games for people to enjoy. What I don't like is how to deliver the drinks - you really have to pay attention and be within the pickup vicinity when your drinks are being called out. Honestly, I'm torn because one of the times I came here, the bubbles tasted horrible, like expired medicine. But that was one experience out of many, so I'm going to cut them some slack because I thoroughly enjoy this bubble tea spot. I have to give it 4 stars because it was one of the rare finds in Vancouver. There are not a a lot of bubble tea spots here. During the entire trip we spotted 3! One in particular had a super long line all the time. We didn't have enough time to wait but it was near the sushi restaurant we ate at Shizen Ya in the downtown area. We'd been walking for a good couple of hours uphill too so it was nice welcome find to see this place. We grabbed some drinks and rested our feet for a bit. The shop is a good size, they had a nice selection of options. We both went for blended ice drinks I got taro and he got honeydew. It wasn't bad, not too sweet or artificial tasting. We opted out of the toppings but they had wide selection of boba, jellies, and other add on's. Very chill spot, nice music. The drinks here are sooooo sweet holy cow. I got the honey milk tea with 50% sugar. It tasted like 120% sugar. I thought it was just me because of the honey. Nope, my friend's lychee green tea was super sweet. Another friend's sesame milk tea tastes a bit more normal but still sweet and that was at 30% sweetness. The only ones that tasted remotely normal and not full of diabetes was a peach green tea and the original milk tea with pearls at 50% sweetness. The boba didn't have any sweetness added and was a bit chewy. The meat floss egg sandwich was not bad but a bit pricy in my opinion. The redeeming factor was the spicy popcorn chicken that was decent, but nothing special. I think this place is good for when you're out late at night and want someplace open that serves food and bubble tea, but definitely do 30% sugar so it's not overbearingly sweet. read more

It's a decent sized space for a bubble tea spot. They have a fairly extensive menu of both food and drinks. I always get a slush of some sort with half pearls and half coconut jelly. I decided on a fresh fruit slush -watermelon and strawberry. It was a very short wait ! The drink itself was yummy. I've rarely had a bubble tea slush I didn't love! After reading the reviews on Yelp, I decided to try the Earl Grey Milk tea with taro pearls. I found the milk tea itself to be a big step down (ie. cheap tasting) compared to Gong Cha, but the taro pearls were amazing! The taro flavor was quite strong (probably artificial flavor but bubble tea is not exactly a health drink so who cares lol). I drank up every bit of it. Now I wish I could get Gong Cha earl grey milk tea with Bubble World taro pearls...that would be the dream! One note about the taro pearls is that they will 'melt' with time and become less chewy so don't let them sit for too long. read more

While visiting Vancouver I had to try some of the bubble tea. I saw this one is local to the area, so I had to check it out. I ordered the Taro Milk Tea with Takoyaki as a side. The milk tea was pretty much as I anticipated, good balance between the taro and milk, and the tapioca was cooked well. The Takoyaki was very good as well, and presented nicely. All of the traditional elements were there, and it was very similar to how I remember the Takoyaki in Osaka was. The video game section was a plus, the consoles are all-in-one arcade games from the 60s-90s and had plenty of games to play. Solid 4 stars for this place read more

I think the concept here is cool - they have some free arcade games set up next to the café area. The space that the shop is housed in is laid out well and although there aren't really any decorations up the building itself is appealing. The person who took my order was very pleasant. They have lots of options for toppings here, with lots of more uncommon flavoured jellies. The drink menu is also pretty extensive and you can adjust sweetness/ice levels on lots of drinks, and I believe you can ask to combine flavours for some items. They also serve some simple meal and snack items here. The drink I had was delicious! I got the avocado milk with grass jelly. The avocado milk was SUPER thick, almost milkshake consistency, and the avocado flavour was strong and tasted pretty authentic (I assume the flavour was just from a syrup but I couldn't tell from taste alone). Came down for a bubble tea. Parking is available along the side streets, or you can throw money away at the meters. The inside is pretty beaten up - it feels like a half renovated house, right down to the mismatched tables and chairs. One of the chairs is the office type with wheels, for crying out loud. There is also a video game section. There is food available here, but the food menu is taped to a wall. It was annoying because this is also where the line up is located, so I was bumping shoulders with random people trying to read the damn thing.
