The location is in a prime spot where it is next to a mall and an asian plaza which is convenient to a lot of foot traffic. The place itself is small and it seems like it was able to accommodate 6-8 people if they wanted to sit down and drink their drinks inside. I decided to get the matcha watermelon drink and it was exactly what I expected, watermelon and matcha! It was actually really refreshing and I did enjoy the watermelon and matcha mixture but it mostly tasted like watermelon (I like watermelon so I didn't mind). If you want actual matcha I probably wouldn't recommend this drink as the watermelon is pretty overpowering but I do recommend if you do like watermelon! We first tried the sweet corn matcha latte large size to share, but then also drew to attention a boba fried chicken set that was fairly affordable (15.88CAD). Also, the area is not the best with parking (and it can be very expensive to park if you do find a spot) Sweet corn matcha latte: 3/5 - this one with boba and upgrade to large was 10+ CAD which is on the higher end of boba around here. Usually, the cups have a nice Boba Run logo on it but the large cup just feels cheaply made and had no logo. The boba is solid but the sweet corn flavor masks the matcha flavor. Boba fried chicken: 5/5 - as part of their hot chocolate festival run, this set menu had 2 fried ice cream shaped like chicken drumsticks with hot chocolate. The ice cream has boba on the side that you can add, making the experience very interesting. This was also really good value as it was enough sweets for 2 people to share. I came to try the new feature drink, matcha latte with sweet corn foam. I was so curious to try this pairing and it worked very well. The sweet corn foam had the flavour that I would compare to caramel corn. The matcha itself was good. They use real matcha, whisked by hand, instead of powder mix, and it was strong enough with a nice smooth flavour. The pearls were also perfectly chewy! The barista was nice and checked to make sure I was okay with the dairy in the foam when I asked for oat milk in the latte. It was just one barista working around lunch time but they worked very efficiently considering the tea was being made from scratch because I think I only waited about 10 minutes with 5 or 6 people waiting for their drinks before me. Firstly, let me comment how precisely they measured to make their teas. Secondly, I love strong teas, so this was the perfect shop for me to try first! I tried the hk milk tea in regular sweetness, but got my usual 75% for hojicha. I preferred the 100% sweetness here because of how strong the teas were. The boba places back home dont have coffee jelly as a topping so i was pleasantly surprised to have it in my drink and it mixed in well! When we visited on a Friday afternoon, it wasnt packed. What a cute little boba store in the Gastown area of Vancouver! The drink I got from here was the Korean Strawberry Milk drink, and it was the perfect drink to get on a summery Canada Day long weekend day. Prices were typical for what one would expect out of a boba drink, plus, the staff were friendly too. My experience was pretty disappointing, and surprising given the many positive reviews I read before coming here. The boba we got had wayyy too much milk - it was pretty unpleasant to drink. I got the oolong milk tea and didn't ask for any adjustments. It was made with so much milk, I could barely taste the tea! It basically tasted like a big cup of milk. I ended up having to throw it away, and I've never done this with any boba drink in the past! My bf got a jasmine milk tea and it was slightly better, but still tasted overwhelmingly of milk.
