This place lives up to the hype. My family and I went here on Wednesday afternoon and it wasn't as crowded. We ordered a variety of drinks but we liked the frappe most. Drink: 5/5 the tea flavor was really good Ambiance: 4/5 small and clean shop with minimal decoration, nothing too special Customer service: 4/5 you just order and pay with the machine.

I got the osmanthus and lychee cappuccino, the hot drink. I was craving a hot drink as opposed to a cold one. Our friend recommended this place and said they always come here when they go to Vancouver (from Seattle). It was a good drink indeed, I'd come back again. One thing that's funny is that the popularity of it goes up and down throughout the day. When we first passed by, no one but two people were inside. When we came back three hours later, there was 20 people inside.

Decent milk tea drink in one of the most popular bubble tea plaza in Richmond, slight tucked away from the crowd by Janice's bakery. I liked that the tea base (tie guan yin in my case) pinched hard, very very tea-y, and that's exactly what you need sometimes. I was slightly thrown off at first sip expecting a blended icy frappe drink - turns out it's just a regular milk tea! In that case I would've been ok without the whipped cream on top, will need to explore the menu a bit more :)

CHAYAN has been making waves since opening in Richmond last year. They boldly claim to have "the best frappe & milk tea from UK". After trying 2 of their drinks, I can say their claim isn't unfounded! From the first sip, I could taste the quality of the teas. Lightly refreshing with no sugary aftertaste, each sip left me wanting more! - Green Grape Oolong Frappe - Jasmine Green Tea Cream Cloud

The only good thing was the quickness at which the drinks came out. But I think this might've played a factor as to why the tea tasted like water and wasn't very enjoyable or punchy at all despite after hearing how popular this chain is. I'd say it reminds me of Chicha San Chen where I have similar experiences, but Chicha has more iced options than milk options like ChaYan It seemed to me like the tea was steeped in a machine, but definitely out of sight to me, with the only part I saw being the whipped cream and the pecan being sprinkled on top, as compared to Paragon Tea Room where the teaspresso machines can be seen actively making tea. I got the Osmanthus Lychee Chappucino and the Pu'er Tea Frappe and both were actually pretty similar tasting? I didn't really understand how the whipped cream or cream layer mixed with the tea oddly. Also no straws?? The only straws available were plastic coffee stir sticks and you'd have to get two straws to get anywhere with one drink. Not sure if there was just a shipment delay, but these substitutes didn't make sense for the big, decorative pecan chips and ultimately I wasn't able to enjoy them with the drink. Also noticed that some red cups had tearaways for a giveaway that wasn't mentioned and I wasn't sure which drinks needed to be ordered to get this. They've been open since November 2024, so I'm not sure if it's just recipes that need tweaking or they're just so busy they don't have time to restock or fine tune.

Long wait for the tea today but the lemon series is So so soooo good. Had the jasmine lemon tea and it was super refreshing on a hot summer day!

The frappe drink was a great find in richmond as I have never had a drink like that before. The flavors were just right and not too sweet. The frappe was very creamy as well. The service was ok as the lady was on whatsapp during the order. Overall the ambiance was clean and easygoing.

Came here during grand opening because I wanted to see what the new challenger in diabetes plaza has to offer and I kept coming back after. While other bubble tea shops offer more variety and unique drinks, Chayan really pride themselves in simple but very tea forward drinks using the highest quality ingredients. I've tried the black tea frappe, jasmine green tea chapuccino, black tea chappuccino, and the deep roast oolong chappucino. The black tea chappuccino easily became one of my favorite milk teas in metro vancouver, it's strong but not overpowering and has a very pleasant taste/aroma. The downside of Chayan is that it's a bit on the pricier side so this is a once in a while treat!

My friend and I were excited to check at this place out after a long time, as we had never heard of the brand before but heard great things. My friend is a big fan of milk tea, especially Molly Tea so we saw that this looks like a Molly Tea dupe. The atmosphere and the store itself is really nice, but the drinks we ordered (jasmine milk tea and lemon tea) which we're about eight dollars each were super not worth it in our opinions. The milk tea was less than mid, it taste more like milk with a faint taste of tea. and I also disagree with one of the previous reviews, I actually feel like it tastes like a very watery milk. The lemon tea was actually a teeny bit better which is surprising because that's not what they're known for but because of how much ice was in the tea it was also extremely faint in taste and it became like lemon water really quickly. I also ordered less ice too. Overall kind of a disappointment, would not come back here. Service is decent though. For the price of their drinks, I would definitely skip.

He rang us up, then ran behind curter to make our drinks. It didn't seem too busy here so maybe it was manageable for him. I personally tried the cheese foam black tea with mochi and golden pearls which costed close to 10CAD. The cheese foam was slightly salty and pretty creamy, and the taste is much more pronounced when you dip the plain mochi into the drink. The mochi itself was slightly soft though a bit uneven in texture as some parts are chewy and some parts are already a little bit dry. I do like they nicely wrapped the mochi in a plastic bag to preserve the moisture, though I ended up trying it out immediately to get the maximum freshness. The tea itself is flavorful and not too sweet, which is what I intended because I opted for light sugar (30%). The golden pearls were pretty chewy and are the right preferred texture. While I liked the general quality of the drinks, like other reviews mentioned, the price of the drinks are a bit on the higher end but the quality did not really scale up compared to a good boba spot.

The walls are decorated with pictures from Europe and the teacups are very "British." Besides scone and tea, you can get regular food here as well such as fries, salt & pepper chicken, and radish cake to name just a few. You can also get cold drinks like juice & bubble tea, and bubble tea drinks here too. So...not your typical British style Afternoon Tea joint. Kind of half restaurant, half tea place. My friend had a pot of Leisure Fresh Fruit tea and a scone. We'd already had lunch a bit earlier and while my friend had room for a scone, I had zero room in my stomach for any food so I just had a pot of Longan Red Date tea. It was a cold day so a pot of hot tea really hit the spot. I thought it a bit pricy at first, but when the tea came, I saw that the teabags were Fortnum & Mason teabags. That is a very a prestigious company from all the way over in England. When I realized we were drinking Fortnum & Mason tea, all of a sudden $10.25 didn't seem so extravagant any more. My friend said her scone seemed like more of a biscuit than a scone. It came with butter and jam. I think she wished there had been some clotted cream to go with it. I can't say too much about the food as I only had one pot of tea but I was impressed that it was Fortnum & Mason tea, and I very much enjoyed the flavor of the Longan & Red Dates in my tea.

This location is the one I tend to come across the most cause I usually am visiting the mall. The shop sticks out with it's red design. It's just a pretty small boba vendor shop that's kind of hidden away. The menu is basically a screen running a video so that it animates and loops. There's quite of a selection of drinks on it though. Most of them are on the sweeter side with their cookies and cream shake. They've got a lot of crazy drinks going on, but I'm a simple man that likes his simple drinks and lately, I've been very much into the #8 fresh jade lemon green tea. Because the drinks are pretty sweet I usually adjust it to like 75% sweetness. I also adjust the ice level to get more for my buck and ask for less ice. Hard to judge boba shops in my opinion. Especially since any adjustments I make to my drink is on me and not on the shop. Service was quite fine. Only one person was on the job when I was there, but I've seen two people there before. One to make drinks and the other manning the cashier. Overall, I thought my drink turned out fine. Just have to adjust by trial and error to get the right sweetness down for yourself. If you come across one of these shops, check it out.

It could be served hot or cold. The osmanthus flavour did come through but the drink tasted watery overall, not sure if it was because we chose cold and there was ice. Large accessible parking lot made the store easy to pick up drinks. If you dine-in, there is plenty of seating in the store.
