OG Taiwanese style Bubble tea restaurant. Anytime I'm craving popcorn chicken, especially late at night, I remember Bubble World. They offer so many different dishes (hot pot bowls, stir fry noodles, hot and cold appetizers, etc.) plus an extensive drink selection. One of my guilty pleasure meals from here is their popcorn chicken, intestine soup noodle, and their Hokkaido milk tea. The popcorn chicken is always made fresh and food portions are generous at the price point offered. Been a while since Ive been here. I came for a weekday lunch. Got their lunch special. basically you pick from a list of discounted appetizers and mains with a few add-on options. Then you can add any drink for $3 off. I got the fried chicken appy, 3 sauce chicken on rice with add-on marinated egg, and got a tea drink. Food was fine. 3.5/5. Nothing special, nothing exceptional, but nothing bad. Food lacked seasoning but also was a little too salty. Drink was ok, 3/5. Total bill with a tip was just under $30 but to their credit, its a lot of food. Easily can share between 2 people for a lighter lunch. Service was fine, place is clean enough. There is metered street parking in the area. I would say they are a solid 3.5/5 overall. Food is ok, not spectacular, drinks are average at best, and value isnt great but not horrible. I made the mistake of adding too much boba to my mango slush drink because it is so good. Genuinely so good. I'm saying this as someone who doesn't really like sweet drinks (although i love boba). I ordered the no sugar option, so i was worried it would be sour, but the boba made it the perfect amount of sweetness! Not too sweet, just how I like it~ The same goes for the honey lemon tea. I accidentally ordered a wrong item from the Uber Eat and I was charged with the cancellation fee. There isn't much good to say. I stopped here with a friend for BBT take out. Our bbt batista was smoking next to us by the entrance, and didn't even wash or sanitized his hands after his break. Besides our drinks were extremely sweet. I'd say about 80% sweet. I endlessly poured water to reduce sweetness and my friend trashed her bbt. Yuck. I thought I was having a diabetic bubble tea. I do not recommend ordering their Beef Brisket on Rice dish. As you can see from the image, there's barely any brisket. It's mainly rice and sauce. Having said that, their Taiwanese chicken nugget rice platter and their traditional stew pork are solid selections. Portions are not stingy. I ordered through DoorDash and my delivery person claimed that Bubble World was sold out of a drink, which they refunded to me. I called the store, and Yan told me she was in charge of my order and refunded the money to me. In fact, she claimed to have confirmed it. When I asked why she didn't call me to tell me the item I ordered was sold out, she claimed she did. Which she didn't because I never recieved a call from her. Then she changed had story after I told her, and said that the number wasn't "my number"? Huh? I'm not even sure what she was talking about? So she lied about calling me and then retracted her story. Fast forward to this morning and I still haven't gotten a refund. I call the store again and an employee now claims that they can't even do credit refunds, and I have to call DoorDash. So in effect Yan lied to me AGAIN about refunding my money! What the fck!!!!! The employee who I spoke to, Ken, had HORRIBLE attitude and kept telling me to "calm down". Like what the fck, you guys literally lied about refunding my money and now you want me to "calm down"? Everyone was ahead of me but my number was 69 and it was number 79 by now. They didn't care about the people who were there and was only taking Uber driver and skip the dishes. I would never come here again and waste my time. When I told her about my order it was like they totally forgot my order. Said it was going to take another 5 mins. Bubble World is a popular Taiwanese restaurant with two locations (Richmond and Burnaby). Their formula is cheap savory eats (hot pot, snack foods, noodle soups) and a huge variety of desserts. Due to the proximity, we returned several times, largely attracted by the generous portion, delicious soft tofu and shaved ice with plentiful toppings, and the quick service. Our order: Condensed Milk Toast - $4.50. About a 15 minute wait but a large thick piece of toast is served covered in butter and condensed milk. It's actually really good. Soft Tofu with Red Bean and Grass Jelly - $5.50. At these prices, it's a generous portion and great for sharing. The ingredients taste freshly made and mix together well. Hot Tofu with Boba - $5.50. The nice thing about ordering anything is that you can add boba and fresh boba served warm is soft and delicious, although likely just empty carbs. Worth it. Overall, Bubble World is a popular dessert spot. It's more a 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up for the convenient location and stellar prices. Bubble World accepts cash only. read more

Lunch time or late afternoon is slower good time to go. I love their bubble tea I always get the taro slush with pearls (always with pearls!) and if not another great choices are lychee or coconut. This place was renovated recently. The updates on the design and service layout were improved a lot. Now they have specific counter at the entrance to accomodate take-out customers and bill payments. This particular chain is very busy on late night weekends. One of my favorite here is bbq meat over rice(beef or pork), their hokkaido milk tea, and chicken nuggets. The bbq meat over rice is almost like a beef gyudon. Their chicken nuggets is one of the best you could get at any Taiwanese restaurants and it is one of their most popular. read more

Stopped by for a snack with my friend. Ordered the blueberry milk with almond milk. Not bad, it wasn't too sweet but it was just ok. I ordered the salty pepper chicken nuggets, wonton in chilli sauce, and the five spice beef in Chinese pancake. The chicken nuggets are really good. It's crispy on the outside, moist on the inside and not too salty. That was probably the best one out of the three snacks I ordered. The wontons we're quite small and it honestly wasn't very spicy at all. It tasted a but sweet. The beef in the Chinese pancake was underwhelming as well. It was kind of small and the end pieces barely had any beef in it at all. Overall, food is alright, and service was pretty good. Food is but decent and the restaurant interior is nice. The staff seem to be very rushed and busy even though the restaurant was around half capacity when I went. The review would be higher but it seems a common theme in this restaurant as pointed out by other reviews is rude service. One of the waitresses were very rude and had a lot of attitude. When our food was ready she would dump the plate on our table and rush away without a word. When my table tried to order additional food she was annoyed gave a rude comment about how we didn't order on the first pass instead. Even when it was time to pay the bill I noticed a lack of a thank you, which I don't mind but as we were already being treated poorly it stood out. The other members of staff were nice but the waitress serving out table ruined our experience. The food is nothing special and the service is a big miss, I recommend visiting someone else. read more

Chicken nuggets had good flavour but could use more crispiness. Yam fries were good but not their mustard-something sauce. When I think of Bubble World, the first thing that comes to mind is bubble tea. And if you go visit their Kingsway location in Vancouver, that's pretty much all you can get. However, if you travel east down Kingsway for a bit, you'll find their Metrotown location which also serves up classic Taiwanese fare. After a second failed attempt to visit nearby Chengdu Spicy Restaurant, I decided to cut my losses and try out this Bubble World location. They don't have a very large menu to pick from so I opted for the Traditional Stew Pork ($8.95 + $1.50 for rice) and added a Lemon Black Tea ($4.25) which was served in a large glass mug. The stewed pork dish included 6 smallish pieces of chunky and fatty pork served on top of some greens. While the pork wasn't super tender (like you'd find in a good mui choy kau yuk dish), it was still pretty good and included a couple of chili pieces which kicked things up a bit. The interior of this restaurant isn't very spacious and the Taiwanese pop music that they have playing in the background can get a bit loud. However, overall, it was a pretty good visit. read more

Been here a few times but 1st time post-COVID and came here for lunch. My daughter loves their beef noodle soup, the portions for food are "adequate" in comparison to their reasonable prices. I had an issue with our server, she seemed upset at the get-go--short/curt attitude, from asking how many people (myself and my twelve year old), to taking our order and serving of food. I don't expect 5 star service, but her service was definitely sub-par, felt like she chucked the menus and food on the table. The sad thing is that she wasn't more pleasant until I started to answer her curtly and with the same RBF that she exhibited to us. I used to love bubble world. It's alright now. My friend came back from a long trip without Asian food and I thought why not bubble world. Service was average. It took us about fifteen minutes until we got a glass of water after being seated. After that, they were a lot better about filling up our glasses. As for food, we got the deep fried calamari, a Taiwanese pancake, and a cup of passion fruit slush. I thought I'd love the Taiwanese pancake, but it just wasn't for me. I think it's the way they made their batter. The calamari was great though! It was crispy on the outside and still tender on the inside. As for the passion fruit slush, it was okay. I used to always come to bubble world for their bubble tea, but these didn't wow me. I definitely think it's a good place for late night eats! It doesn't break the bank and you'd be decently filled. I was staying in a nearby hotel for a school trip and my group was tasting some bubble tea. After walking by MANY bubble tea places, many of them didn't seem up to par until we came across Bubble World! At first, I would have never thought to have put ice cream in bubble tea, but it was worth a shot. I ordered something mango-y with ice cream and boba. Let me just say: I WAS BLOWN AWAY! The taste was so rich and sweet. I had never tasted something like that before. After having that and returning home, going to my usual bubble tea place was disappointing after going to Bubble World. This place is right under the building where I live. The bubble tea here is really good, lots of varieties, slushes, milk series, coffee series etc. The food is pretty good as well, standard taiwanese fare, beef soups, fried rice, chicken knuckles etc. It's clean and is a decent size. The service is hit and miss, the last time we where there was really good and other times it's the drop off the menu, take your order and that's it. It's open til like 2am and can get pretty busy.
