    Beef noodle soup
    Dylan H.

Nice clean, quiet place. Not busy as expected in Coquitlam. Noodle soup was legit and tasty. Texture of noodles was very solid. Menu was very limited. We had the fried tempura and the dry mix noodles as well. They were average. If really yearning for Taiwanese noodle soup, would eat again.

One of the better Taiwanese beef noodle soup in the Burnaby and Tri-cities area. They have limited tables for dine in during the pandemic, but their take outs seems to be quite busy. Their broth was flavourful and light, naturally flavoured soup of beef bone, beef tendon, vegetables and spices. They also do not use MSG in their soup which goes very well with the tender stewed beef shank.

We came here for a late dinner. Coquitlam doesn't have many Taiwanese restaurants like Richmond and Vancouver. This is one of the few. There is a parking right outside the restaurant. It might be harder to find parking during day time as the same complex has different shops, a small supermarket and a few restaurants. It is easier to find parking at night once those shops are closed. The restaurant only got a few tables of customers last night. A couple servers served the customers including us. They were polite and nice. The restaurant itself was clean and tidy. The ambiance was comfortable. I did go to some restaurants with old and dirty furniture. The dirty furniture disgusted me right at the beginning of the meals. We ordered two bowls of beef and tendon with noodles in soup here. One was spicy and the other one was very spicy. They were average. we couldn't say they were bad but there were better ones out there. We also ordered some Taiwanese popcorn chickens for snacks. These popcorn chickens were baked or fried with bread crumbs? We never had this type of popcorn chicken before but they tasted good. Based on what we ate and experienced at this restaurant last night, it was great. People in this neighbourhood should come here and give it a try. They have bubble tea here as well. Be aware of the closing time. They close at 9pm or 9:30pm on different days.

It's actually a nice joint to just sit around! Nice and bright!

Usually you do not find me around these parts, but since we were visiting a friend and we just wolfed down a big dinner we needed somewhere to just chill out and have some bubble tea, yes, us youthful Chinese, instead of finding a bar and sloshing down liquor induced drinks go the safe route at times, drinking cold drinks, some totally caffeinated liquids with some big pellet sized tapioca sized 'pearls' that you can fire off like projectiles out of the big straw provided (if you choose) and chat amongst ourselves, while some hip-hop/R & B style Chinese music plays in the background, this is the usual place, and if you have been to any of these sort of places that serve these type of drinks don't say I didn't paint you the picture! When we came here on a Thursday, around 7:30 PM, this place was dead, as in no one around, you can sit anywhere you want. An odd scene for me, where are the youth, playing outside? Well this is good as these places are great to catch up with people and that is what we did. We sat around, and I think due to this place being not busy, service was slow, we were presented our menu's and eventually we had to call the person over to order drinks. The consensus for most of us that day is that we wanted 'pearls', and they were sold out.... what? How do you run out of one of your signature items. OK, well this isn't going to fly, we just ordered some random drinks off the menu, as the fun of chewing round soft gummy like things wasn't going to happen tonight. I looked through the menu to see what else was offered, and if I wasn't stuffed I probably would have picked some sort of appetizer. From what I saw the menu has many Taiwanese treats, appetizers a plenty, some rice and noodle dishes, and then when you get to the drinks, slushies, red and black tea, hot or cold, take your pick. As my first time here I will give this place a pass, if I'm ever in the neighbourhood again I hope that pearls are available, and reading some of the reviews here, I hope to try their food.

紅燒半荕半肉麵 (Large) Review: Do you ever think about some things that you did in the past and just CRINGE. Cuz I just thought of some things and I feel so disgusted at myself. Oh also I'm sad cuz I can't go to hk anytime soon cuz my parents don't wanna go when the protests are still going on ;-; BRUH I always go off topic when I write my reviews I'm so sorry. Anyways, I've been craving 牛肉麵 for literally the longest time and my craving has finally been satisfied today. This restaurant is literally my childhood. My parents used to bring me here after my chinese exams as a reward since I used to go to glen eagle for chinese school. I was a little disappointed cuz all the prices raised drastically but it's okay... inflation. The beef soup was super flavourful and the BEAUTIFUL MEATY TASTE OF BEEF WAS REALLY COMING THROUGH For the meat, you are really getting your money's worth, I had around 9 pieces of beef shank meat and 8 pieces of beef tendon. It was literally a beefy heaven and I absolutely loved it One small complaint I have is that you couldn't choose whether you wanted thin or thick noodles. I prefer thin noodles but I didn't get a choice I left the restaurant with an EXTREMELY full stomach which means they really give a lot of food because I eat quite a bit. I would definitely come here again and I really recommend this place!! Rating: 9.5/10

Probably my favorite type of noodles. Its just so filling and the right texture and springiness. Not sure if it's handmade, but it is damn good. Spicy beef broth is really good, same with the beef flank. Popcorn chicken is always solid and the bubble tea was okay too. Definitely try this place if you have a chance.

    Pork dumplings

Went there for lunch (around 11:30) on a Wednesday. The place quickly filled up shortly after and the restaurant was 90% full! We ordered the noodles with meat sauce - 2 stars Extra spicy beef and tendon noodle soup - 2 stars. Pork dumplings - 1.5 stars I've never had tawainese food before so not sure what kind of taste I was looking for but the Noodles with meat sauce had a strange fermented tofu smell to it, and more sauce needed to be added so we asked for an extra side. The noodles were soft, not overcooked, not al dente but was good. The spicy soup wasnt spicy at all, i found it kinda bland to be honest. The color was beautiful, red and the hot oil just made the bowl of soup look really appetizing but unfortunately the soup was lacking major flavor. Pork dumplings - the filling needed fat to be added to the mix. It was very lean but was a good change. Right amount of salt. The skin was a bit thick to my liking. Service - 2.5 stars. The waitress was by herself and managed the whole restaurant balancing each table. She was great but when the restaurant is full, its good to have a 2nd person help out (like the guy who finished wrapping his dumplings and disappeared) I will continue my search for a great bowl of spicy noodle soup.

This place served some decent Taiwanese food and bubble tea. My date ordered a beef noodle soup and mango slush. I ordered the minced pork meat rice with a side of marinated egg. The rice dish also included a side of clear, light soup. Food tasted as expected. I wish there was a thick noodle option for the beef noodle soup. Service was minimal. It took awhile for food to arrive. Ample plaza parking available outside of the restaurant.

This is where my Taiwanese relatives go to recapture the tastes and flavours of home! Amazing flavours throughout. The beef noodle soup is meant to be the main event, with tender and flavourful pieces swimming in a fantastically savoury broth amidst full, toothsome lengths of noodle - however, the side dishes make a strong play for center stage. My own personal favourite are the pig ears, which they manage to keep crunchy and light, with just enough heat to keep you coming back. And speaking of heat, try the dumplings in their spicy soup. The dumplings are handmade in house, and I'm sure they've channeled whatever secrets their long lost ancestors have left in their care because those dumplings are GOOD. There's also a big selection of bubble tea which is well prepared and delicious, but nothing that separates them from the other better bubble tea places I've tried. But no matter - it's the savoury dishes that should be the reason you come, and the savoury dishes you should try. And lots of them.

This Taiwanese noodle place is one of the best I've been to! The soup is good as well as the noodles and the beef is tasty. Try their dumplings it's great with the noodles!

It's small but has quite many seats, the lady is very friendly. She gave me a photo album to order from which is so fun and I have never seen anything like this before and every restaurant should 10000000% do the same. I ordered the 酸辣肥肠粉 pork intestine sour spicy noodle(added an egg) and potato shreds cold stir凉拌土豆丝 Ok I have to to say, the potato dish is THE BEST i have had in canada and it is a very very high compliment from me, since I order that whenever I can. It's soooo good and I ate the whole plate in a few mins. The pork intestine noodle is so so, I wish there are more pork intestine, I had 4-5 pieces and they r quite small, the egg tho, is sooooo good, it's worth it to add one to the noodle. They also add a ton of peanuts so if u have allergies u need to tell them, they wont ask u. She also gave me a small ice jelly dessert for free in the end, it tastes so good??!!! I am so full at this point otherwise I would ask if I can eat a full portion one lol Overall I will come back!

This place is tiny, as in it can seat about 20 people, and every table had people and had piping hot food on each. Both me and my friend needed to wait a few minutes till someone left, and when we got seated, they gave us their regular menu, and later on gave us a picture book.. and if you guessed it.... everything on their menu with a separate picture. My friend ordered his bowl of spicy pork chop glass noodles in soup, and I had a dry version of spicy noodles with pork. We also ordered their deep fried tofu, deep fried chicken, and a plate of spicy cucumber. Every dish was done just right, and what I mean by that is that every hot dish seemed to be made to order, and it was confirmed when we spoke to the lady there. The spicy cucumber dish came out, and you can tell they use fresh ingredients, the cucumber, although the chili oil used was spicy, due to the freshness of the cucumber, was sweet too. The deep fried tofu had a nice hard outer deep fried shell, and yet the inside was soft and really hot, the chicken took the longest, but this was worth waiting for, with the thin deep fried batter, I don't think I have ever had chicken this hot in temperature, and it was great. Both noodle dishes were huge, and I wondered how my friend ended up eating all of his, I had to take 1/3 of mine home as it was too much. We also ordered a plum drink and a hawthorne drink and at the end was served complimentary jelly as dessert. This was a great meal and if you are in the area, I would recommend you try this place out.

You know it is legit when someone says their favourite Chinese restaurant is outside of Richmond and Vancouver, which are home to many delicious Chinese restaurants! Service was friendly. It was attentive at the start, but soon went downhill. We had to flag down the server to take our order, get our bill, and follow up on the congee that comes with the menu over $30. Despite being 1 of 4 tables, the food also took a while to come, but once one came then most dishes came quickly after (except for the tofu and congee). The servers were friendly, but just not attentive. We ordered 2 noodle dishes and 3 other dishes and prices were decent around $13-$15 per item. The stir fried beef noodles was well flavoured and not too salty. It was a touch greasy and some of the noodles were choppy, but it was the bean sprout/cabbage/onion that tasted off. It didn't taste fresh. The Shanghainese fried noodles was one of my favourites of the night. The noodles were a touch firm, but the flavour was pleasant - not too salty or sweet. The salt pepper pork chop came with fried garlic, onions and peppers. It wasn't overly salty, but the pork chop was dry and didn't taste fresh - tasted like it was frozen and just defrosted. The honey garlic spareribs was another favourite of mine. It was fried crispy and the flavour wasn't overly strong - not too garlicky or overwhelmly sweet. There are different versions of the fried tofu. Some restaurants make them with ample of stir fried garlic or onions and chili pepper. This version looked like squares of chicken nuggets with no toppings. It had a crispy coating and soft interior, but it definitely didn't resembled what the dish usually is. Overall, some of the ingredients and dishes didn't taste fresh, and we were utterly disappointed with the quality and taste of some of the dishes.
