Beef curry noodles
Regina V.

Their handmade noodles are so fresh! I love getting the curry beef and devour it within minutes. Too bad they're closed Sundays. So nice and convenient by the new west skytrain and right beside the movie theatre! I need to try the other dishes someday.

I don't know if I was just ravenous or if it was this amazing, delicious Chinese food that I ate. Simply the best I've eaten outside of China, and best believe, I've been around. We had the woodear mushroom dish, shrimp fried rice, onion beef, and beef spring roll. All finished in 20 minutes. Wiped clean by two. The woodear mushroom dish and the beef spring roll were especially outstanding. I don't live in Canada, but I would come to this specific place any day. Hole in the wall for real. Please come and bless your palate.

Fried Noodles with Curry (with veg & tofu and cutting noodles)

Very authentic, Northern/Szechuan Chinese noodle house specializing in homemade noodles, with a few veggie/vegan options. I did a quick pick-up order over the phone for lunch: Fried Noodle with Curry Sauce ($15 after tax), which comes with a choice of protein, vegetable, or vegetable & tofu (I did this), and choice of noodle (I did cutting noodles). They only needed 5 minutes for the order, and it was ready when they said it would be. The portion was large, wonderfully coated in an appropriately intense curry flavour, correctly salted, with lots of broccoli, onion, red and green bell pepper, plenty of tofu, and perfectly textured homemade cutting noodles (some other places., e.g., Peaceful, call this "blade-cutting noodles"). Really well-executed, authentic dish, good value, and very tasty. Recommended.

Solid taste on everything with a decent price. Beef noodle is a must try. although a bit oily, has a good home style taste. Beef roll is average, probably wouldn't get it again. Also ordered "sheng jian bao" which is pan fried bun/dumplings. Large portion for good price. Taste is decent with a savoury soup inside each bun. 7.4/10

North Noodle House, New Westminster Price: $5.98 - 6.98 per || $10 - $14 Taste: 5 / 5 Atmosphere: 2/5 Seating: 3/5 Price Performance ratio: 4.8 / 5 Retention Rate: 100% ℙros: The spice is the REAL DEAL - slightly spicy for me but that's what increased the flavor by a notch this chinese hamburger (肉夹馍) has an adequate meat filling excellent pricing lamb marinated with cumin herbs = extra points (everyone knows that I love lamb with cumin) buns are soft has onion in it so it gives it a good crunch the stir fried noodles with lambs are hand pulled. It's chewy! lots of meat filling ℂons: at a really bizarre location. It's above the new west sky train station where the landmark cinema is. the heat might be a bit too much to handle for some of you. It made my lips tingle. It's hot air too (if you know, you know) a teeny bit smaller than the average chinese burgers, but the filling is the same. Final Thoughts: seems like a lot of you were quite interested in my previous post on the Rou Jia Mo, so I decided to do a series of reviews on these coming up. Hidden Gem in new Westminster. This is as good as the Xi'an Cuisine from the public market marginally better than Old xi an from Richmond (mainly cause I feel that their quality has slipped lately)

I've heard good things from two friends about North Noodle House. They usually come here for food before seeing a movie. NNH's located in the New Westminster skytrain station (top floor) beside Bobacabana. We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon (around 1:00pm). The inside is small with three tables and 3 high chairs to people watch the commuters (17 seats total). The two larger tables are communal so be ready to share with strangers. Service is decent and food comes out quickly. The menu consists of Northern specialties, noodles (fried, soup, sauce and flavored), wonton & dumplings, fried pancake, cold dishes, snacks and desserts. You can request the type of noodles you want (hand dragged or cutting). Love that they give you baby scissors to cut your noodles; first Chinese spot I've seen that's done that. About time! - Herbal tea ($3.50) - M's always got to get a drink with his meal. - Pork Chinese burger ($5.50) - flat bead filled with pork and hot peppers. The bread was light, pillowy and soft but the pork filling was soooooo salty. Instant hit of salt punctuated my taste buds. - Xin-Jiang noodles ($15.98) - fried chicken with potatoes, peppers and onion in a spicy star anise sauce. This is their most expensive dish on the menu. No idea why it's so pricey because you don't get that much chicken. Speaking of the chicken, wow, it was incredibly salty. At least the noodles had a toothsome, chewy bite but even that couldn't save this dish. - Lan Zhou beef noodle soup ($9.98) - have had Lan Zhou at numerous places and this one was okay. Standard noodles and very thin beef pieces. The broth was salty; reminded us of sea water. Clearly, someone in the kitchen has a heavy hand on the salt seasoning. - Spicy cold noodles with beef & cucumber ($10.98) - these come as thin dragging noodles. Surprisingly, this was everyone's favourite dish. Broth was light and refreshing with a touch of sourness. Beef slices were excellent and retained its bite. Salty, salty, salty. Couldn't get over it. Merely average noodles at NNH.

Come here before 530pm if you wish to get a table. It gets crowded as there are not many tables in here. I had the Lan Zhou beef noodle soup and it was tasty. The portion was quite big with plenty of noodles so you would not leave hungry. My friend had the tofu with meat with a side order of rice, and it was a huge plate too. The service is prompt and efficient. They do take your order and bring you your bill. You can also go straight to the cashier to order food to go which I do see many people coming in to do that. The prices are reasonable at around $10 each.

Stir fried noodles with lamb. It was delicious, added chilli and lit it up.

Noodles were fresh... what a nice experience to see noodles being hand made. This was a good find, a hidden gem in the middle of an eateries court. I will definitely return very soon. I ordered the Lamb Stir Fry that came out about 10 minutes after ordering. A must try, you will not be disappointed.

Very confidently located right by Landmark theaters. We came here right before our show and the restaurant was busy for Friday night that we even had to share tables. The restaurant is very small do best for smaller groups. We tried the stew noodle with lamb and the pan fried dumplings. The noodles where thick cut homemade noodles. It has a nice texture for those who like more al dented thicker doughy noodles the soup for the noodles was pretty good too. The best deal are the dumplings. They are HUGE! There were 13 of them in a large place stuffed with ground pork inside. The pan fried dumplings are more of a bun like texture so you can get very full after a noodle dish so make sure you have 3 to 4 people to share to expect to save some to take home! Well worth a try!

What an unexpected find in New West! Never did I imagine I would find fresh handpulled noodles in a small restaurant on the platform of the skytrain station. North noodle house is a classic noodle joint serving various varieties of handpulled noodles, many of which are inspired by Northern China. I got the 炸酱面 (Mince meat sauce noodle?) while my friend got the cumin lamb stir fried noodle. The first thing we noticed was how the noodles were were not shaped perfectly, but rather irregular. This is definitely a sign of hand pulled noodles, and the great chewy texture confirms it. Definitely an unexpected surprise! For around 10 dollars, the price is decent for the generous portion they serve. The only thing I would say is that the ambience is not all that great, as there are only like 4 tables and we ended up sharing our table with another group. But come here for the noodles and you won't be disappointed.

What a hidden gem! Tucked away on the third floor of the skytrain station, North Noodle House (more accurately translated as Northern China Noodle House) delivers authentic and flavorful Northern Chinese cuisine for a very reasonable price! This review is mainly valid for the beef noodle soup as THIS WAS LITERALLY THE BEST LANZHOU STYLE BEEF NOODLE SOUP I'VE EVER HAD. The broth was sooooo rich and pretty sure there was no msg in there at all! Beef slices were super thin and LITERALLY MELT IN YOUR MOUTH tender, bursting with umami, complemented elegantly with the astringent taste of the pickled vegetables. The noodles are all homemade as can be seen by the various portraits on the wall / master noodle chef in the kitchen. Not exactly the best noodles I've ever had but most definitely top 10 (where the top 9 are mostly places in China/Asia). We also ordered the Lamb skewers, which were quite good as well! Not the best I've had in terms of western Chinese/uyghur cuisine but pretty damn good! The dumplings on the other hand were decent. GET THE BEEF NOODLE SOUP!

This small, hidden gem located at the New West skytrain station is one of the best noodle house if you live close. Lots of parking. They have very limited seats. Do not go with more than 6 people in a group. I tried their fried noodle (first page) with lamb and it did not dissapoint. The noodles you order, will always be made fresh by the chef before they cook it. My partner ordered the lanzhou beef noodle soup, and that tasted amazing too! They give abundant noodles. The only thing I wish they do is give us more meat.. but again, not going to complain. Definitely will come back during this cold winter weather. Could be a great stop before the movies at landmark cinemas.

Who would've thought there would be an authentic noodle place next to a skytrain station? Literalaly you can hop off the train and feast on good noodles/dumplings or order ahead of time to pick up 9n the way home. Despite the small space with limited seating, Northern Noodle House manages to hand make fresh noodles with good flavors. Zhajiang Pork with Cucumber on Noodles 炸醬麵 $8.95:not a fan of their ginger flavored sauce. Different than other places and not as good. Seafood Soup Noodles 海鮮湯麵 $9.95:pretty comforting, especially good one cold day. Green Onion Pancake $3.95: meh, felt like greasy dough. Made it better when I added some beef to it Fried Beef with Green Onion 蔥爆牛肉 $13.95 our favorite along with stir fried noodles Stir-fried Noodles: quite good with the thick noodles. Parking: in the same structure as Landmark Cinema Overall 3.5 stars bumped up to 4.

After that, we ordered from them again many, many times through the Fantuan app. The menu is simple. Basically rice and noodles, just as the name of the shop implies. They cook their food soooo well though! There's a deep "wok hei" flavor to their rice and noodles. They do also have a few other side dishes like gyoza and spring rolls which you can order, but basically we go to this place for the rice and noodles. This was the first time we actually dined in the restaurant instead of getting takeout. Highly recommend dining in! So good to eat the food fresh and hot. It's a great place to stop for a quicky, filling and tasty meal. You choose your base, then your protein, and then your level of spice. Pay at the counter, then sit down and they will bring the food out to you when it's ready. In our group we ordered some gyoza, chow mein, pad thai noodles and pad see ew noodles. I must have been hungrier than I realized, or else the food just tasted soooo good that I ended up eating my entire plate of noodles, when I really only needed about half the plate.
