I'm very surprised with the low ratings from some reviewers for this place. I've tried it a few times already and feel their pad thai and pad see ew are both pretty good considering the price and speed of service. Both are generously portioned with a good balance of sweet and savoury (with the pad see ew leaning a bit more sweet). The only thing that's not quite perfect would be the use of thin noodles for the pad see ew, generally I have had this dish done with wide, flat rice noodles. If there were an option to upgrade/switch to flat noodles this dish would be pretty on point, as it's pretty tasty otherwise with a generous helping of well seasoned veggies.

We stopped by for lunch over the weekend. The set up is like a cafeteria. You place an order at the front and then seat yourself. Service was fast and friendly. One of the cooks dropped off complementary chips for the kids. The food is not the most authentic. I ordered laksa and it was only one type of noodles instead of the usual two. You can also customize the protein and I picked beef. The broth was aromatic and you can also customize how spicy you want the food to be. There was a generous amount of noodles and decent amount of toppings. The deep fried gyoza were some of the better ones I have had in recent memory. It was crispy and had a good crunch. The chicken satay skewers were a total miss. There were no grill marks and felt like boiled chicken on a stick. The dipping sauce did not help make the chicken taste any better. I would skip that item next time. Overall, I was happy with my meal. Restaurant is clean and tidy. Service was fast. COVID precautions were in place. Staff wore face mask. Hand sanitizer was available. Price was good for the portion size.

This nice little place popped up in the Highgate area. It is a chain that has locations on Robson and also North Van. The concept is simple you choose a variety of Asian dishes (with either rice or noodles) such as Pad Thai or Mongolian beef. The dishes are inexpensive and we're very delicious. The server was also very nice and pleasant. We will be back!

    What I.

Fist time was satisfactory but 2nd and 3rd was embarrassing and disappointing. 2nd time, I took my guests over praising about it but they were unhappy. Chicken pieces was in a big clump in the noodles. Seemed the cook didn't even bother. The beef was very dry and chewy. Decided to give it another chance so ordered a 3rd time. I got green onions I specifically said no to. Chicken and prawn were burnt. Portion size were small It's odd but the more protein you want, the more they charge to discourage you from buying. Eg: 1st protein is $1 and up but extra protein after the first one will cost double. So 2 bad experiences out of 3. Not gonna go again!

I took a bite in my food to find this hard plastic lid piece in my food. Very disappointed as they need to be more careful.

The sauces were also loaded. For example, the fish cake came with sweet chili dip but they added cucumber, red onion, and peanuts in. I truly appreciated the added depth of the sauce. standout is the papaya salad (fresh, crispy and tangy!), crispy wonton (hot, crispy, and meat was tender and juicy inside, without somehow making the outer shell soggy), and pandanus chicken! I have never seen pandanus chicken at a Thai restaurant before and wanted to try it out! I could really taste that the pandan seeped into the chicken! chicken was juicy, very well marinated (sweet, salty and umami mixed!) and hot. I could eat so many of those. my least favourite was the kao soi beef. maybe i wasn't used to curry sauce with noodles and preferred rice, but even then there was a strange aftertaste in both the sauce and beef. the crispy noodles were also more chewy than crisp, so I didn't really like the texture.

Bite after bite, I could not find the zest of flavors that's distinctive of Thai food. It lacks the tamarind, lime, chili and fish sauce in every dish. Very disappointed! *Garlic Wings: tasted so plain, barely marinated *Crispy Fish with Tamarind Sauce: very crispy breading, sauce was too sweet no trace of tanginess *Tom Kha Soup: not spicy, not tangy *Pineapple Fried Rice: very plain *Pad Thai: we chose beef for protein. Beef was not velvety tender although the redeeming factor of this dish is the very al dente noodles *Pad Pak: tasted like any Asian mixed veggies *Durian Sticky Rice: tasted more salty than sweet, the saltiness failed to bring out the sweetness of the durian *Mango Sticky Rice: this dish failed as the three ingredients didn't blend its flavors together.

Authentic tasting Thai takeout/delivery food in Burnaby South along Kingsway opposite side of BMO…read more Grace is the nice lady who answers their phone and runs the front of house. They cater to several delivery apps and I've seen a lot of drivers picking-up food there. We usually opt to just call-in our orders and pick it up after 20 mins since we live close. You get a 10% discount for dinner orders (pick-up) plus saves a bit of money. They have a small dining area -- bar seating by the window. Their pad thai is delicious! We've tried tofu (with egg), shrimp (plus $3) and chicken. They don't scrimp on the shrimp so the additional price isn't bad plus the serving size is quite big. We've also tried #40 Black pepper (Chicken) - it was flavorful, lots of bamboo shoots and other veggies. #57 Pineapple fried rice with chicken -- it was okay, it was a bit moist for us as we prefer drier fried rice and the pineapple chunks were a wee bit too big. Their Thai tea was great. Loved their Basil Chicken fried rice (no peas and beans for us) -- so flavourful and lots of chicken pieces that it's enough to be eaten on its own without another viand. Reheated leftovers the next day and it was still yummy and flavourful. Their Chicken Satay is good too loved the satay sauce, portion size is bigger than your typical Malay/Thai restaurant and it comes with a side of potato chips. Really enjoyed my bowl of Tom Kha Chicken (coconut milk soup), big serving size and thicker soup -- so comforting and warming to the stomach and soul. Overall, Twinkle Thai is our go-to neighborhood Thai place. Pricing and serving sizes are really good value for money plus the food is made really well. Lastly, I'm glad that they are willing to modify our orders (by removing beans/legumes bec of hubby's dietary restrictions). I look forward to trying more things in their menu.
