My most favourite place to get Thai food outside of Vancouver . Amazing pad pak/ pad Thai / panang curry and spring rolls read more

The Roti was flaky and the curry that came with it was a nice touch. The Pad Thai Chicken was flavorful and very enjoyable. The Massaman curry was delicious and a nice change from the regular curry that I normally get at Thai restaurants. Their portions are fairly large here and we had enough for leftovers for a second meal. Service was friendly. 4.5 stars read more

We came on a recommendation and was really excited to try but was greatly disappointed. Food was mediocre to say the least. Bite after bite, I could not find the zest of flavors that's distinctive of Thai food. It lacks the tamarind, lime, chili and fish sauce in every dish. Very disappointed! *Garlic Wings: tasted so plain, barely marinated *Crispy Fish with Tamarind Sauce: very crispy breading, sauce was too sweet no trace of tanginess *Tom Kha Soup: not spicy, not tangy *Pineapple Fried Rice: very plain *Pad Thai: we chose beef for protein. Beef was not velvety tender although the redeeming factor of this dish is the very al dente noodles *Pad Pak: tasted like any Asian mixed veggies *Durian Sticky Rice: tasted more salty than sweet, the saltiness failed to bring out the sweetness of the durian *Mango Sticky Rice: this dish failed as the three ingredients didn't blend its flavors together. read more

Restaurant has a very nice ambiance with warm colour tone. The food is very good, we had red curry with pork that comes with a plate of rice. The curry was very good & rich in coconut milk. Lots of pork slices with bell peppers & bamboo shoots. It was total YUM! We had Pad Thai (shrimp) & Pad See Ew (chicken). Great "wok hei" on the noodles, great flavour, I requested for cut fresh chili with fish sauce for the Pad See Ew... it was freshly cut bird eye chili that packed a punch in your taste buds. My friend had stir fry eggplant with chicken, she requested for minimal sauce in her stir fry & they delivered it, she was very pleased & satisfied with her stir fry dish. Service was good, water gets refilled constantly They also have a small convenience stall that carries some Thai products. Great food to be had by all. Go check it out, totally worthwhile! read more

overall great quality food for the price! the vibe i got was that everything was really saucy - like most dishes came with a sauce you could dip/pour over your dish, and it really elevates the flavour! The sauces were also loaded. For example, the fish cake came with sweet chili dip but they added cucumber, red onion, and peanuts in. I truly appreciated the added depth of the sauce. standout is the papaya salad (fresh, crispy and tangy!), crispy wonton (hot, crispy, and meat was tender and juicy inside, without somehow making the outer shell soggy), and pandanus chicken! I have never seen pandanus chicken at a Thai restaurant before and wanted to try it out! I could really taste that the pandan seeped into the chicken! chicken was juicy, very well marinated (sweet, salty and umami mixed!) and hot. I could eat so many of those. my least favourite was the kao soi beef. maybe i wasn't used to curry sauce with noodles and preferred rice, but even then there was a strange aftertaste in both the sauce and beef. the crispy noodles were also more chewy than crisp, so I didn't really like the texture. read more

We stumbled upon Pastara Thai during one of our walks and it quickly became a favorite--we've been regulars ever since. From the outside, it's an unassuming little spot, but don't let that fool you. The food here is absolutely incredible. The Khao Soi is a must-try--rich, flavorful, and totally authentic. It instantly transported me back to Thailand. Nothing about it feels watered down or Americanized. The gai hor bai toey chicken-pandan leaves is another standout: perfectly balanced flavors and cooked to perfection. The space is cozy and intimate, and always seems to be bustling, so I'd recommend going early. But what really makes this place shine is the service--genuinely warm, polite, and personal. This is really what makes me want to go back each time. Also, their bua loy perfectly hits the sweet spot if you have space for dessert, especially on a cold rainy pnw day! Sorry no photos of the Khao Soi because we immediately devoured it as soon as it was brought to our table. Hands down, this is my favorite Thai restaurant in BC. Can't recommend it enough. read more

Love the food here! The interior adds to the ambience, and the servers are super nice. This was my second time at this cute restaurant, one that you would've driven by if you didn't know it was there. As a vegetarian, Thai places are usually difficult. But para make sure to highlight vegan options in their menu and is knowledgable about dishes that could be substituted. I was disappointed that the pad Thai could not be adjusted for my dietary needs, but the other dishes that I could have were great. read more

Patsara Thai is a little hidden gem of a Thai restaurant located in New Westminister. They have authentic decor and even sell Thai snacks at the front of the restaurant. Pad Thai - Flavourful and packed with flavour from the tamarind sauce. A good amount of veggies and chicken was present too which is always a huge plus. Curry noodle soup - Another amazing dish from Patsara Thai. Ample amount of noodles and toppings in the bowl and has the perfect amount of spice read more

My partner and I have walked by this place several times and it smelled divine. We decided to stop in one night and we definitely did not regret it. The food was fantastic, the best Pad Thai Noodles I've had at a restaurant. The spring rolls were quite crunchy and lather than I thought. The curry tasted wonderful as well. The service was quick and the couple of times I needed something the staff were there immediately and it took me no effort to flag them down. The restaurant itself is nice and cozy. They have a cool water feature in the restaurant itself. They also have a little market in the restaurant you can purchase quite a few things to make items from the menu. It's also decently priced as well. read more

I discovered this gem of a place tucked away off the main road after spending a decade in new west. Despite passing by countless times, I finally took a chance to sample their food. The pad Thai, my go-to for gauging a Thai restaurant's quality, exceeded expectations with its rich, deep flavors--I practically polished off the entire plate. Besides their delicious dishes, they also offer a reasonably priced selection of groceries. Excited to try out some spice packs at home that I've purchased from there. read more

Decent Thai food with a few vegan options, but there are much better Thai places in Greater Van, even if it's Thai-challenged. I don't live near New West, but we were visiting friends out there and so decided to try this place out, as they have a small curated vegan section of the menu. It was a bit tough trying to find enough vegan dishes to split for the four of us, but they found some dishes that worked for us. We ordered: -Vegan tom kha soup -- very coconuty broth, gently sweet, lightly spicy, with tofu and mushrooms. Quite simply and lacking depth, but tasty enough. 3/5 -Vegan massaman curry with tofu -- we requested this "Thai spicy", but it was just slightly spicy. The curry was flavourful cooked with potatoes, onions, and peanuts. Not the most complex curry out there but pretty well-done. 3.5/5 -Vegan pad pak -- solid mixed veggie dish with a garlic sauce. You get broccoli, carrots and cabbage for the most part. Simple but effective. 3.5/5 -Vegan pad see ew -- the wide rice noodles were nicely cooked but they clumped together, indicating a rather amateurish cooking style. It came with tofu, carrots, broccoli, cabbage and mushrooms. Not the most exciting or competent version of this dish, but it was decent. 3/5 -Swimming rama with tofu -- they usually do this dish with chicken, but they substituted tofu for us. It's cooked with a mild, medium-sweet peanut sauce, and accompanied with broccoli. This dish is better done with spinach but this was decent. 3.5/5 All in all, good but rather unexciting Thai food--I guess that's expected for New West. I wouldn't be in a rush to return but I'd be happy eating here again. read more

Best Tom Ka Gai outside of Thailand!! Came here for dinner with my son and enjoyed fried tofu, Tom Ka Gai and pineapple fried rice - everything was amazingly delicious. We ate here this evening and were a bit disappointed with the soupy-like green curry and the bland pad thai. The papaya salad was great and the swimming rama decent but we've had some excellent thai in burnaby (Thai Eatery) that put today's experience to shame. My review is based off a take out experience and likely needs an dine-in follow up to confirm whether this place deserves more than a 4 star. I will defintely say from the decor of the restaurant, professionalism of the staff and ingredients in our meal this can definitely be a 4 star or more restaurant. read more

I have been here many times. Once there was a piece of plastic wrap in our pad thai. The waitress took care of it and the kitchen apologized. Wee have been back but always a little worried about what we might come across. The restaurant is in a purple building that looks like a mechanic garage. When you walk in, it's like entering a different world. It truly feels like a 5 star restaurant when you enter with beautiful fixtures and I believe there is a waterfall. Lots of gold everywhere. Beautiful, comfortable ambiance. read more

I ordered a catered lunch for 25 people for a work event. They replied my emails and delivered promptly. We have the following food items: Spring roll Papaya salad Red curry with beef Chicken cashew nut Pad Thai Jasmin rice Coconut rice They were very reasonably priced, really generous portion, and it tastes great. My residents keep on asking me for the restaurant name. Spring roll was hot and crunchy. Papaya salad is not bad, pretty average. Red curry was very smooth and fragrant, not overly spicy, and lots of beef in it. The chicken cashew nut is well seasoned, it goes so well with coconut rice. Pad Thai is decent as well, their Pad Thai is a lot better than other places I've tried that's for sure. I was told their restaurant can sit 100, and even have a room for private gathering. I will definitely make a trip there and try their other dishes. read more

I am glad to have found a place for good Thai food. I was there during lunch and ordered the basil chicken rice lunch set - phad kaphrao kai dao. This dish is usually my benchmark for Thai food as it is a dish commonly found in Thailand. The version here is pretty good with though it could be spicier. It was probably my mistake as I did not indicate if I want it spicy. They did have cut chili in fish sauce so that helped. I loved the fried egg with its runny yolk, that was so good. The only negative was the rice. It was very hard and dry. I did not send it back to the kitchen as I was not sure if that was the way they served rice here. I definitely did not taste or smell the jasmine - a pity as Thailand does produce the best jasmine rice and it is what I usually eat at home. For the lunch set, it just came with a vegetarian spring roll. It was ok. I would not order it as an appetizer. I also wish they will offer a small bowl of tom yum soup as an add on to the lunch set. I also had the iced Thai milk tea. That was legit, except it was sugary sweet. Instead of using more milk (condensed or evaporated) for the sweetness, it was done with sugar. It would be perfect if they use more milk like in Thailand. I will definitely be back to try the other dishes. The place is easy to miss as it is just a building/house on its own, with no obvious sign that it is a restaurant. It has beautiful decoration inside though. A nice place for a meal with friendly staff. read more

The stir fry basil was just okay. We ended up with their mango sticky rice - really good as well. Recommended. Cant wait to try the other dishes in their menu. They do have lunch special (with lunch portion), but it is enough for me. I ordered panang with chicken. It's kind of red curry, but it taste a bit on sweet side. Inside the curry there are chicken and bell pepper. They use lots of spices so you can taste the curry is pretty strong. One of the better Thai restaurants in Greater Vancouver. Actually, according to my sister's Thai friend, this is THE best Thai place in the GVRD. I'm a big fan of the green curry, and it's pretty much all I order, changing it up between beef and chicken. My boyfriend loves the duck curry. You do have to ask for Thai spicy for your curries to be actually spicy, and make sure you emphasize it to your server when you are ordering. The first time we ordered Thai spicy, I think I got not spicy instead, even my sister and mom (who aren't fans of spicy food) couldn't taste it. Parking is terrible around here, but you can console yourself with some Chatime after your meal. :) read more

I am not hard to please but I must say i was not all that impressed with this place! The restaurant itself is hidden on a random residential street, parking is very difficult! The decor is adorable and very authentic. Looks clean and well maintained There are many food items on the menu. We opted for the pad Thai, chicken skewers and curry chicken. For starters the chicken skewers were dry and nothing spectacular. The curry was tasty. The shrimp pad Thai was damn extra spicy! Even as "medium heat". I was sipping water between bites. My friend for the Thai hot, and I do not know how she managed. What did turn us off the pad Thai was the shrimp tasted slimy and fishy. As if it were not cooked properly. We made the comment to the waitress that it was not properly cooked and she did not acknowledge it at all. So I was pretty disappointed at the service. I doubt I'd return read more

Decor is amazing . Infact golden artwork on the walls add mystic beauty to interiors . From outside u will only find a purple coloured box type structure but inside is prettu well done. To start , there is bar in the entrance with 4/5 stools. Wait to be seated. Servers are friendly and soft spoken. They all are not thai though but good english. Clean n presentable as well. Holy smokes food is hell lot tastier. There is alot of choice to make . Couple cocktails, mocktails n regular wine n beer selections to pick from menu. We ordered a soup to start with which was enough for 4 people. Too good in taste . Chicken mixed in coconut milk curry with mushrooms n onions. Chicken n green bean stir fry with the side of brown rice, mosayam curry with white rice n pad Thai . My only complaint is about pad thai which could have been better. I have been to places where they serve big portions of pad thai 's . 4 choices of desert n that too all rice items. So if want anything else then not here. Washrooms were clean so another star for that. Parking is on the road n its paid. read more

My friend and I stopped by on a weekday to try their lunch specials. Restaurant had only one other table of diners. My friend ordered the red curry and I ordered the panang curry with a Thai iced tea. The food arrived fairly quickly but it was missing salad. The photos clearly show a side salad and most Thai restaurants I have dined at includes a salad with their lunch specials. I am not sure if the increased minimum wage, operating costs and lack of diners affected this. We got a fried wonton to accompany the rice and curry. Previous photos showed a small salad with their lunch specials at one time. I guess this is the new reality of increasing costs. My curry entree was mild. Our server did not offer customization of spice level. It was an okay dish with a good amount of chicken slices. I found the Thai place I had tried recently in Coquitlam to be a better option in terms of flavour although the ambiance here was nicer. The Thai iced tea tasted good as expected. No complaints on the beverage. read more

My friend and I meet up at 7pm and most the restaurants I wanted to try in New West were closed and yelped gave this place an overall 4 stars and their website shows that they have two location with one in downtown so I thought it'd be a promising place to eat. They don't seem to have their own parking but there's quite some street parking with some metered and others with time restrictions so just circle around and you may be in luck for one of those. Our server sat us down and we ordered our fave (thai iced tea) and flipped through their menu. We looked at the pictures and the descriptions and the food looks amazingly tasty and we were starving. The description of their special caught my attention. Sorry, forgot its name but it was fried chicken in red curry with coconut meat and bell peppers. This dish is served in a coconut with a side salad. My friend was interested in a few of the appies so I suggested we order the special appetizers which includes 2 springrolls, 2 golden bags, 2 prawn blankets, crispy tofu and calamari for $13.50. We also ordered a Tom Kah soup can be done with prawns or chicken we got it with prawns. -Thai Iced tea (3/5 - $3.00): Nothing too special. Not bad, not good. -Tom Kah Soup (3/5 - $10.50): Overall it's 3 stars because the first few spoons and we were like oh my sour, we're gonna pack this to go. -Special Appetizer (3/5 - $13.50): Good for sharing especially if you want to try more than 2 of their appies. The crispy tofu and calamari was on the unpleasant side. Bland and just not done right. -Fried chicken in red curry served in coconut (2.5/5): Got my hopes up with the word 'fried chicken' and coconut meat. Didn't find any coconut whatsoever and the chicken just tasted like normal chicken. This dish had no spice and was rather sweet. I went for seconds on the soup to balance out the flavor profiles in my mouth. Don't think I'd come back again. read more

Everything about this place is AMAZING. Can't wait to revisit. [ORDERED] 1. LETTUCE WRAP ($9) with ground pork (contains crispy rice with shallot, ginger, parsley, peanuts, lime juice etc. on lettuce leaf) 2. TRADITIONAL PAD THAI ($11.95) with prawn 3. PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE ($11.95) with chicken (jasmine rice in curry powder) 4. RED CURRY ($11.50) with beef (comes with yummy bamboo shoots, bell peppers and red curry with coconut milk) For almost everything you order, there's a choice of meat (chicken, pork, or beef). This is probably the most savory Thai food I've had in the Greater Vancouver area. The food is not only mouthwatering to look at, every dish is flavorful and palatable. The seasoning to each dish is a perfect blend of herbs, spices and condiments. Most dishes are slightly spicy, but that's all the better. [SERVICE] Everyone here is pretty upbeat. The waiters and waitresses are VERY attentive and friendly. Water was always filled up, and there was always someone around when we needed something. [LOCATION] It is somewhat hidden away on Carnavon St and from the outside, it is easy to miss. But it is more than worth the visit. Street parking may be hard to find but it's very close to the skytrain station. [DECOR] The inside of the store is beautiful. There's Thai decorations on the walls, a beautiful wall of falling water, and comfortable booth seating. [PRICE] Everything is very reasonably price. For the amazing quality of the food, I would have expected to pay more. read more

Inconspicuous Thai restaurant in New Westminster. From the outside it doesn't look like much and you might miss it, but when you step inside it's beautifully decorated and inviting. The green and red curries with tofu are my absolute favourite. They are so flavorful and filling. They come with rice unlike many other Thai places I've been to where you have to order the rice separately. The Pad Thai and Pad See Ew are others which I have ordered as they can be made vegan by requesting them with tofu (no egg or fish sauce), but they're not as impressive as the curries. I find the Pad Thai blander than others I've had, and the Pad See Ew a little too oily. I've always had good experiences though with helpful and friendly staff, and generally a great atmosphere. read more

I love Patsara. It's both inexpensive and delicious. My favorite dishes are the curries and the Pad See Ew, but really it's all good. One order of curry with rice is usually more than I can eat. My father is a bigger eater than I am, but his order of curry and rice is usually enough to satisfy him. For $28 (before tip) that's a pretty excellent value!
