It is spicy, but i tend to have a low spice tolerance than most people. The deep-fried banana with ice cream was so delicious. It's been a long time since I have had one and this was outstanding. The customer service here was absolutely outstanding. The staff members took the time to discuss what they would recommend from the menu. They also recommended different spice levels and or substitutions that they offered. They checked on us multiple times throughout our meal. They have lunch specials (smaller version of some of their dishes). We got the stuffed wings, magic noodle salad and the pad thai lunch special. The magic noodle salad come with a small bowl of sauce/dressing which was vinegary so we didn't use it all, maybe half of it as that was enough to give the dish flavor. Got this recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint! Have been struggling to find good Thai food in the Burnaby/ Coquitlam area so was blessed to be painted to this gem. But that's expected since it's take out. The pad Thai had good flavour. It was sweet, salty and tangy. The prawns were large and tasted fresh. The pad see ew was also packed in. There were plenty of pieces of pork. However the flavour wasn't as familiar to me from other restaurants that I've ordered this dish from. It almost tasted a bit like BBQ sauce to me... I'd spotted Siam Le Bien Thai Cuisine a few months ago while we were in the neighbourhood. It's next door to Kamamarui Ramen & Don Heights. Seems to be very popular for takeout. Service is friendly and patient. Always a good sign when it's run by Thai people. They ask what spice level you want (our waitress suggested medium spicy) but I would go higher if you want heat. Barely a blimp/kick of heat with the medium level. The menu consists of appetizer, soup, salad, noodle, fried rice, curries, wok and dessert. They also have a weekday lunch menu ($13.00) that runs from 11:30am to 4:00pm. Trip #1 - Thai milk tea ($5.00) - strong flavour, excellently made. - Som tum (#12) ($12.00) - good portion size. Sauce was well balanced with good notes of sweet and sour. Solid way to start our meal. - Siam magic (#14) ($14.00) - the bean vermicelli was really interesting with a translucent blue colouring. Had a bite of N's dish; again, delicious with a well balanced dressing. - Crab fried rice (#22) ($18.50) - good wok hei to the fried rice. You don't see many places offering real crab these days. Tasty. - Jasmine rice ($2.50) - not sure what happened but the rice was mushy. The only miss in an otherwise tasty meal. - Red duck curry (#27) ($19.00) - good portion of BBQ duck pieces and vegetables. Curry was good but we wanted it spicier. Trip #2 - Tipsy mai tai ($8.00) - 3x Coconut rice ($3.00) - Chicken satay (#4) ($10.00 for 4) - skewers were excellent; tender and succulent. - Pad thai (#19) ($15.50) - B's parents really enjoyed the tamarind sauce. One of the better quality pad thai's that we've had. - Green curry (#23) ($15.50) - green curry was slightly thicker and the coconut milk flavour was more prominent than in the red. Pork was more tender than the chicken too. Really enjoyed the nicely sized chunks of eggplant. - Red curry (#24) ($15.50) - red curry had more of a kick than the green although it was much thinner. Bamboo shoots provided a nice crunchy element. - Spicy eggplant (#29) ($14.50) - the sauce covering the eggplant was addictively good. Eggplant had a fantastic texture. The staff is super friendly, Covid compliant and the restaurant is new and the decor bright, clean and welcoming. The dishes are regular Thai sized portions and the flavours are authentic. You can choose different levels of spice but we like all our curries 'Thai' hot! This is the first time in probably 10 yrs that we've had the good fortune of ordering stuffed chicken wings and they were fantastic! Must try them if you've never had them before. We also ordered the pineapple fried rice, green curry and red duck curry which 8 highly recommended. It's very unique and has generous amounts of duck meat but also pineapple chunks and lichee! The dishes are tasty, portions are big for the price, but the service is so sloooooow. I also find it strange that there's no beef option. With their noodles and curry you have the option of chicken/pork/tofu. Also it's a Western Thai restaurant so spicy isn't actually spicy. I ordered pickup on a hot summer day, they told me to come at 7pm but my order wasn't ready until 7:15pm and the restaurant was uncomfortably hot inside. I decided to dine in today and service was poor. Don't ask your server for recommendations because she'll give you a generic reply "very delicious, try it." Decent Thai place in Burnaby Heights. Parking is available on Hastings as well as some city owned lots around the corner by the fire station. The place looks pretty plain. At least they didn't overdo it with the Thai decorations like many other places around town. The food was decent but low key. I guess it's the Thai equivalent of diner food. Goong grob - 4 prawns wrapped in crunchy dry egg noodles. Pretty tasty. Padi si ew - thick noodles tended to clump together. Nice and flavourful. Yellow curry fish - curry had potato chunks. Fish seemed reasonably fresh and not mushy. Pad ka pao - nice tasty beans. Typical stir fry but with quite a bit of liquid. Nothing really stood out to be honest, but the food was decent. We came here on Sunday afternoon and the lunch rush was still going. We managed to get a table. The service was excellent. I liked how our server prepped our expectations when we ordered that the kitchen was extremely busy and our food may take a while to arrive. She checked with us if it would be ok for the food to be served once it was ready instead of having everything arrived at the same time or appetizer before mains etc. we appreciated that. When the food did take about half an hour to arrive, we were cool with that. Besides dining in, the kitchen was busy with take out orders too. It was quite an endless stream of people coming into pick up the food. I had the the pad kra pao chicken medium spice and it was so good. Spicy enough for me. As it was the lunch special, it also came with spring roll and salad. This was not mentioned on the menu so it was a nice surprise. I also tried the stuffed chicken wing and shrimp cake. Both were equally delicious. My friend had the tom kha gai with coconut rice. That was tasty too. If you like some alcohol with Thai food, you are set here. Besides, beer and wine, cocktails are served here too. The iced Thai milk tea hit the spot too. Now we have another Thai place to go to on a Sunday. We saw this new Thai restaurant was highly rated on Yelp and Google Review, so we must try their Thai food and see if it was really good or not. First of all, it's easy to find parking on Hastings or the small streets. The entrance got a sign, so it was easy to find the restaurant. I called and preordered the order ahead of time. Once i got to the restaurant, the food was ready for pickup. Customer service was great. A server would ask if we wanted to have plates and forks/chopsticks. We ordered chicken satay, pad Thai with tofu, pad Thai with pork, pad si-ew with pork, traditional Thai salad and Thai fried rice with beef. All of them tasted great and very authentic. The traditional Thai salad had purple or blue vermicelli. The presentation of the salad dish looked interesting but it tasted good. We asked for mild on all the dishes but we didn't taste spicy at all. Both the pricing and portion were reasonable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. The service offered by Nan, is courteous, helpful , diligent , friendly and very profesional. They have a lunch menu which is half the size of the dinner menu which I found is a good portion. My sister ordered a Pad Thai lunch which comes with a spring roll. They accommodated her vegan request. This was $15.23 We shared calamaris ($12) which are larger sized tentacles. It was tender and coated with a nicely seasoned coating. Stuffed chicken wings ($12.50) came in 4 pieces, two tips and 2 thighs. Spring rolls (4/$10.) These were crunchy, hot and not oily. The Basil Moo Grob ($20.50) was medium spicy and the pork was a little chewy and slightly gamey. There was a good amount of green beans and some red pepper. We ordered coconut rice ($3.25) which was surprisingly a larger than normal size bowl. I had the chef's special Medium Spicy Linguine Prawns ($23) in a yellow curry sauce. This dish came with extra fish sauce in a cute tiny squeeze bottle. A small bottle of yellow curry sauce was also given but I didn't need it so I added it to the coconut rice. This dish is a delicious and a great value. Everything was delicious and a great value. Service was very attentive. Water came in a cold carafe and it tastes like it's been filtered. If you like spicy food to actually be spicy, and find "hot" to mostly be feeble, then give their "Thai Hot" or even "Thai Super Hot" a try. Price is more or less on par with everyone else, and combined with either a bowl of rice or noodle, each plate works out to quite a filling meal. 35. Pad Ka Pao Moo Grob ($18.50) Stir-fried spicy crispy pork belly, bell peppers, green beans, fresh chili, garlic, Thai basil -The pork belly looked like it should have good crunch but of course the crispiness of the skin won't last in the generous amount of sauce. -I opted for "Thai Hot" and the dish on its own would have been really quite spicy, but this was dulled considerably when I started mixing in the noodle. So overall, it was just what I was looking for: Actually spicy hot but also not relentlessly spicy and I could just pick at the dish without the noodles if I wanted more heat during my meal. -The dish does not normally come with rice and that needs to be ordered separately. -Noodle wasn't on the menu but I asked if it were possible instead of the two rice options, and the server said it was. One dense bowl of noodle worked out to $3.25. -Overall sweet and delicious, and the crispy Thai basil lent some interesting texture. -Decent amount of pork! The drunken noodles with pork was pretty flavourful, I love having thick pan fried noodles. The spicy level is quite mild in my opinion for both dishes. The nice touches with the drunken noodles is the lightly fried basil leaves on top and the green beans were absolutely fresh, green and crunchy. The downside was the amount of peppercorn this noodle dish has. It's quite a lot and you might end up eating it by accident or just have a plate full of it at the end. The Massaman kai curry was interesting, it's very flavourful has but more chili but still not too spicy but definitely has that yellow curry taste. The chicken leg was so tender.
