I enjoyed their Royal Pad Thai. The noodles have a good chewy texture and the taste delivers equal flavours of sweet and tangy. The staff are approachable and knowledgeable of their menu. I never felt rushed when ordering and exploring options. The ambiance inside the restaurant is casual and dark (but intimate). A few weeks ago I ordered two Pad Thai noodles, one chicken and one beef. I have ordered food several times and have been very pleased with the service, my last experience was not so pleasant. I left a message asking for someone to reach out to me, no one has done that yet. While eating the chicken Pad Thai noodles, I was chewing and swallowing someone's long hair that was not mine. Obviously, whoever was preparing the food did not follow health and safety regulations. A hair net should have been worn to avoid this kind nastiness from taking place. Good hygiene practices need to be the heart and soul of every restaurant. Following up with a customer is important it shows empathy and concern and it builds trust. Not all feedback can be positive at times, but it does allow for improvement amongst the culinary team. read more

I curse myself for choosing my first thai food experience to be one of the best reviewed restaurants in town. Because now no matter where I go I'm always disappointed in the foods lack of flavour. Therefore, on no one's fault but my own, I found the pad thai and red curry at Saba Thai lacking in flavour. The portions were good for the price, but I would prefer quality over quantity. We ordered food for take out, but I noticed the servers were dressed in traditional (I'm assuming?) outfits. We stopped by for late dinner and just made it before their kitchen closed. Unfortunately, some customers were turned away five minutes after we had placed our order. It was just about 45 minutes before closing. We ordered a number of items: Thai satay skewers, pineapple fried rice and gang sapparod. Food arrived fairly quickly. I noticed they did not have coconut rice as an option. I like the aromatic coconut rice with my curry dishes but the pineapple fried rice was a good substitute. The satay skewers arrived first. The chicken and pork were nicely grilled. The peanut sauce was flavourful and not watered down. The curry and fried rice were a good portion size for the price. There was a decent amount of prawns in the sweet red curry. I like that there were fresh pineapple slices on the fried rice. The staff really wanted to go home that we were not offered a dessert menu. Overall, the food was worth four stars. I was happy we were not turned away. Went to this restaurant for lunch while visiting Vancouver. The food was okay nothing special. The service was good.

Came here on the way to Whistler on a Friday night based on the good Yelp review, although I was slightly disappointed with the menu and our waitress wasn't very friendly, but the food was fantastic! About our waitress, she was kind of smiling till you asked questions and you could almost see her roll her eyes.....but still kept smiling. But half way through the dinner, we had to ask for chopsticks, then we asked another waitress because ours was not there, this other waitress was actually nice and friendly, so I guess we were just unlucky. The place was half full when we went and got busier throughout the differ, the food came out pretty good and they were delicious, we had papaya salad, tom yum soup, green curry, shrimp and pineapple red curry. All of them were delicious. I am glad we came here but I am not sure if I'd return again given the service and limited menu selection. read more

Went here with a coupon from the entertainment book Ordered lettuce wraps. They were delicious with a nice spice level and a large portion. Also had cashew chicken extra spicy and yellow chicken curry with rice for two. The portion sizes were large and the flavones were perfect. Only problem is the price. Cashew chicken was $15 plus $2.50 for rice that's almost 18 dollars for one dish. I can go to Sandar's Thai Garden and get the same dish for $12 Will probably go back but not as often considering Sandar's is cheaper and close by. read more

I came here for lunch for 6 people. I liked the service (smiles, attentive, and prompt), food quality is good, but the number of meat portion is smaller. The price is just right for me, but others may find it pricey due to smaller meat ratio. My favorite dishes are the 4 piece Thai satay skewers appetizer(option to double order for almost half the price). The Royal Pad Thai was my favorite one, it has the semi chewy texture I likr, good flavors, heat and loads of nut; it could use more meat portion to make it perfect. I'm sure there are plenty of good restaurants in Surrey... I just don't have the need or desire to spend much time in the area. Well, we found ourselves in a 2 hour lineup for a book signing near Guildford one Saturday and decided to get some food in the area afterwards. That's how we ended up at Sabai Thai. As the name suggests, Sabai Thai is a Thai restaurant and it's located at the corner of 104 Ave and 150 Street, right next to Guildford Town Centre. This restaurant is fairly small and the tables are cramped. As it was a Saturday night, the restaurant was pretty full except for a few tables near the windows. Unfortunately, these seats weren't that comfortable as they were extremely deep and low making it difficult to eat at the equally short table. We were a bit worried that they wouldn't be able to fit all of our dishes on our table but we somehow managed to squeeze everything in. We stuck with a few classic dishes including the Pad Thai ($16) made with prawns, tofu, green onions, and crunchy bean sprouts and ground peanuts. The Green Curry Chicken ($16) arrived with a particularly intense hue of green (similar to the one I had at Thai Box 2Go). It was fairly good with a light heat level and a creamy coconut milk sauce mixed with green curry paste (which no doubt was the reason for the green colour). Eggplant, peppers, sweet basil and peas round out this dish. Last up was the Deep Fried Whole Tilapia ($18) served with peppers, sweet basil, and a spicy sauce. There's not a whole lot of meat on this fish but I liked the spicy sauce. Overall, the food was fairly good (mainly catering to the western palate) but the service was quite lacking (I suppose that was because they didn't have enough servers working). read more

Decided to come here on a impromptu trip to Gilford mall. Instead of going for mall food we found this place instead. Started with pork satay skewers which is a nice change from most places always serving chicken. They were good, between the two of us they were gone in record time. Had the red curry with beef aside with pork and bamboo stirfty and both of these were delicious. Overall I really enjoyed the food and the service was fast and friendly. The one downside is the price, this place is a little on the high end of the scale. Price is really the only thing that would get in the way of a 5 star rating. Also if you are in to iced tea do give their Thai iced tea a try. I'm not a fan of iced tea but even I enjoyed it. read more

In terms of my expectations here of Thai resto, my very 1st one in Surrey, I'd say it does compete with the DT ones, yet I had expected better value. Meaning that with the overhead here a lot less than Vancouver, but surprisingly, the entrees still averaged around the $16-17 mark. Having said that, the food's yummy and authentic. Ordered the same boring (why change lol) green curry chicken, and distinct colour, almost like a lime green as opposed to yellow/green creamier colour. Impressed with the red & yellow peppers as some places just use the cheaper green ones. Yummy too, and even the medium spice had some kick to it. Don't worry I can handle a lot more lol. The pad thai also pretty good, lots of prawns, tofu, and egg; noodles done nicely with a yummy tomato flavour. Now, this was a big portion, enough for lunch next day. Interesting note is the Princess of Thailand was here, and the consulate orders from here, so that's a good sign ;) read more

The red thai curry was watery, hardly any chicken and too much fish sauce and coconut oil. The rice did not taste like jasmine rice, it tasted oily as if coconut oil was added to it. read more

Also, at this price, it sounds like a bargain compared to other restaurants around. I give 1 starts because the food was good but the service was worst. When we came nobody said hi to us, we were confused standing for 5 mins. After that the waiter in black traditional Thai clothes showed us a place to sit but someone already sat in there, Second time confused. Finally we found place to sit. The waiter threw menu to us without saying anything and once more time when we asked for to go box. We didn't tip her because she did not deserve it so, other waiter asked anything they can improve. When we were about to say something, the mean waiter came and ask other waiter in her language if we tip( too bad for her because we understood it) we don't want to be mean so we did not say anything.
