Every time I come to Vancouver BC, I stop here. It's just across the border from Blaine in lovely White Rock, BC and is a great place to rest after a long drive. The cafe is snug and bright, with friendly staff and good coffee. Their vegan grilled cheese sandwich is amazing, one of the best I've ever had (vegan or otherwise). Their desserts are also delicious (I always get the s'mores cookie). This cafe always has the cutest touches -- like putting a tiny spray of flowers on my to-go bag this time :) Love this place and look forward to it every time I'm driving up to Vancouver. read more

My second time and certainly not my last! First time, I fell in love with the pistachio croissant and Return of the Mac. Unique, creative vegan pistachio with a creamy inside. The Mac was savory creamy cheesy goodness with hearty pieces of mushroom + toast. This time I tried the Influencer salad and now that's my favorite! Vegan food can be a hit or a miss but the dish I ordered was a knockout. The matcha latte wasn't anything special, but you wouldn't even have known this was a vegan dish. It was "creamy" and the toast was crunchy. The tomatoes added a nice acid touch. I'm not a fan of Caesar salads because I find them heavy but this was lighter and not as creamy as regular Caesar salads. I hear their mushroom toast is also quite delicious so I look forward to trying that next! Service was good - nothing extraordinary or anything to complain about. Fantastic flavor and probably a Top 5 all-time Mac & Cheese favorite. (5/5) -Boujee bread & Caesar salad was pretty good and a quite interesting dish, though not my favorite. (3.5/5) -Staff was very friendly and food came out pretty lightening quick. I was making a little day trip to White Rock and wanted to check out Grounds & Greens since I'm trying to eat more plant-based these days and have heard it's good. The food certainly lived up to expectations! I had the misconception that it was basically just a foodie coffee shop, but it's actually more of a casual brunch restaurant with table service (if you know what you want when you walk in, you can order at the counter, and pay at the counter, but you can also sit and have a minute with the menu, and staff will come take your order). I arrived a little before 12 on Saturday and was surprised to find it relatively quiet, but the lunch rush hit hard around 12:30, and it's not a big place, so I'd recommend getting there before noon for lunch to beat the crowd. To drink, I got the seasonal "Oh Snap!" version of the Ice Queen, which is their take on dalgona coffee, the holiday version made with gingerbread-spiced milk and served with a gingerbread cookie. I obviously thought it sounded good but it was even better than I was expecting. The gingerbread flavour was perfect (I liked that I could really pick up on the spice, not just the brown sugar, which the bitter coffee helped bring out) and the whipped texture was interesting. The cookie was fine but unremarkable (just a basic gingerbread) but it was fun to dip in the whipped coffee. I had the Brekkie Wrap to eat, which also surpassed expectations. It was very filling since it was packed with protein and sweet potato plus a rich, flavourful spicy tahini sauce. The side caesar salad was actually equally as impressive as the wrap to me - their dressing was without a doubt the most delicious caesar dressing I've ever tried, I felt like it somehow captured the ideal flavour for a caesar even more than any non-vegan dressing I've had. The people there are very nice. I wouldn't recommend it for groups larger than 4 because the space is small and they have to move tables/chairs to accommodate bigger groups, but it would be a great place for a small gathering or casual date, and the environment is kid-friendly too. read more

Lovely atmosphere! Very cozy, comfy and inviting. The staff are exceptionally friendly and kind. The food is fresh and tastes amazing. You leave feeling content, satisfied and full without feeling over stuffed. Their new location in fort Langley is adorable and comfy with a few outdoor seating. And I love the reusable containers that they loan you when you have take out. I was so excited when I got my food I forgot to take pictures! Whatever on menu is worth trying as its plant based, good for gut , healthy ingredients and incredibly yummy. I've been in the White Rock/Surrey area a lot more recently and am pleasantly surprised with how many cute coffee shops, cafes, and restaurants there are in the area. Grounds & Greens is one of them! I popped in here on Sunday morning and had a delicious breakfast on their patio. I went inside to order at the counter and they brought my food out to me. The staff at the counter were so friendly and patient. Their menu is 100% plant based and filled with an assortment of breakfast items, sandwiches, and bowls. Between the bowls and breakfast dishes, I had a hard time deciding what I wanted, but ultimately went for the brekkie wrap. It was filled with veggies, avocado, tofu, black beans, potatoes, and some sort of hot sauce. It was so delicious. It does have a bit of a kick to it, so if you're not great with spice, I'd ask them to not make it spicy. I usually like to save half of my wraps and sandwiches for a later snack, but I scarfed this whole thing down in one sitting. I paired this delicious wrap with a mango turmeric smoothie and it was the perfect morning meal. I'm excited to try some of the other dishes on their menu now. I've tried a bunch of the bowls at Grounds & Greens and I have to say my favourite is the rice rice baby. The sauce and the crunch is great and everything in the bowl actually goes so well together. All the dishes are prepared with super fresh ingredients. At times it feels like the sauce is a bit salty but honestly not enough for me to take away a star. You can also adjust how much of the sauce you can put in in some of the dishes. I also enjoy their smoothies but the ice queen is their version of dalgona coffee that I order every time I go. I love this cafe so much! I went there today especially to try their mac and cheese feature, which did not disappoint. Mac and Cheese (5/5) This was really delicious. It had a nice truffle flavour and the mushrooms were super juicy. There was a good amount of mac and cheese sauce and the sauce was rich and creamy. The breadcrumbs (?) on top added a nice textural element. The garlic bread was tasty as their bread was fluffy, but I would have loved a little more garlic. Naughty Noods Bowl (4/5) I remember loving this the first time I came here, but unfortunately the curry was too sour this time and the squash had a weird texture. It was still good, but not amazing. I added crispy tofu, which was nice but nothing mind-blowing. The edamame and mushrooms were a nice touch. However, I probably won't be getting this again and try something else next time. S'mores Cookie (4/5) This was good. I personally prefer their chocolate base (please bring back the Brookie) as their vanilla base is a bit too sweet. There was a good amount of chocolate chips and marshmallows, and mine came fresh out of the oven so it was still warm and gooey. I personally dislike marshmallows, but I still enjoyed this. Oat Fudge Bar (3.5/5) This was okay, but the oats need to be toasted instead of plain. The chocolate layer was thick which was nice. Falafel (2.5/5) This was dry and hard, and the chickpeas weren't cooked through. It was also expensive at $2 a piece. read more

This place was DELICIOUS. RETURN OF THE MAC (v) - 10/10 recommend if you love mushrooms and vegan truffle cheese. MONKEY BUSINESS MUFFIN (v, gf) - A surprising hit amongst my entire family. We aren't even huge muffin-lovers, but we all agreed we would reorder this. And the fact that it's gluten free as well, I was even more impressed! This muffin was moist and tasty! SMORES COOKIE (v) - I wouldn't have guessed it was vegan. Best s'mores baked good I've had. Just ate their brekkie wrap and it was great. Full of veggies, beans, avocado, corn, tofu, etc. Very saucy. House salad dressing was so good I would drink it. I made a point of trying this place during an extended stay in the area. My expectations were high so unfortunately a let down but don't regret trying the one time to check it off my list. We ordered the Hustler and Naughty Noods bowls. We enjoyed the Hustler bowl (although not mind blowing and I've had a similar or better Greek/Mediterranean bowl elsewhere). I'm a sucker for any Asian inspired noodle bowl but was very disappointed with the Naughty Noods which was on the soup-ier side and missing some of the toppings. Definitely a dish I could easily make at home w/ a can of coconut milk and Thai Kitchen curry paste. It didn't have the restaurant quality factor and the sauce was too heavy on the rice vinegar, hopefully they refine the recipe! Knocked another star off for the value - definitely don't mind paying extra when the food is grade A but I can't justify $17 bowls again for what we got :( read more

Awesome little cafe in White Rock! All the food is packed full of flavour. We ordered the greens toastie with a side of hangover soup, the naughty noods bowl, and the nooch popcorn. To drink we got the mango turmeric smoothie and the Ice Queen coffee. Everything was really delicious. The toastie may have been on the smaller side if you have a big appetite but so tasty you'll want another! Loved the naughty noods with the crispy tofu but if I had to give some feedback, I would prefer the noodles in full length pieces so they are easier to twirl up on a fork. I found they were too short for the fork, but when I asked for a spoon, they too long and slid off...so a little hard to eat (still managed though). The Ice Queen coffee is definitely photo worthy but if you're not into the strong taste of espresso, you probably won't like this drink. The mango turmeric smoothie was super light and tasty. Lastly, the nooch popcorn is bomb - definitely grab some to go before you head back home for your Netflix n chill evening on the couch! First of all, amazing to have a (much needed!) committed vegan spot in the neighbourhood. We were a little surprised by the price point at first glance, especially for a spot whose hours are more reflective of brunch/lunch. But we just couldn't miss a chance to support the place and try their offerings so off we went. First time there, we tried the Naughty Noods, Basic B bowl and a Mango Turmeric smoothie. The noodles were tasty but I ideally would have liked them to have been less salty and less soupy, perhaps even with a bit more spice (I have a weak spice tolerance but still thought it could use more kick). It also came out tepid but I figure that was probably a one-off. The bowl was tasty enough but if I had to order again, I'd get the noodles over the bowl. The smoothie, which was a shocking $9, was unfortunately less interesting than something I could throw together at home with a hunk of ginger and some frozen mango. The second time I came I had the Posh Beans on Toast which was sooo tasty. No constructive feedback on the flavours here - a complete 10/10. There was such a pleasant lip-smacking balance of flavours here, I couldn't even untangle all that was going on. Again, however, I wish there was 2x the amount of toast for the price point - this with the small side salad still left me hungry for a second lunch. All in all, I'd say it's a tasty/friendly place with a great concept and warm customer service but ultimately it's just the price point that keeps us and friends from coming back, hence the 3 stars read more

My wife and I were delighted to find this hidden gem. We both opted for the Influencer Bowl. WOW. The tofu was cooked to perfection - light and puffy and delicious. The flavor combinations were unusual but spectacular - they caught me off guard. We were both blown away. We had the pear doughnut for dessert which probably could be named something else (maple nut cluster doughnut?), but whatever the name, it too was spectacular - moist, delicious. It is obvious that the owners are actually trained chefs as the unique combinations of ingredients create a flavor party in the mouth. We will be back on a regular basis. Congratulations! read more

Absolutely fabulous. I have been their twice, once with 19 y old daughter and once with 60+ y old...all of us enjoyed everything we ate...I had the Influencer Bowl both times bc it was SO good. My husband asked for the soup recipe bc it was delicious (and was advised to check their web site bc they post their recipes!). My daughter had the Basic B* which she liked alot but was eyeing my Influencer. Organic OJ was wonderful. Desserts looked so enticing and did not disappoint.
