Was in Vancouver for a cruise. This place was recommended to me. Noodles are amazing. Service was great. Ambiance was cool! Literally feels like another world in there.

Lemon Garlic Noodles

I do recommend this place but I have some pretty inconsistent experiences here. I've had their peanut noodles (not the best), the scallion pancake (ok but the peanut sauce did not pair well for me). I've tried to order their veg dumplings but they are usually sold on (and their website states that). This recent experience was better. I ordered their Lemon Garlic Noodles (green beans, broccoli, and spinach). I choose their cut noodles which were incredible. Easy to sink your teeth in. No spinach but did come with a few pieces of bok choy. Beans were not fresh but the sauce was pretty good. The lemon was a wedge which did add a burst of favor. I finally got their veg dumplings which take approximately 15 minutes to prepare. They have chilli oil, soya, and a vinegar (not black) to make a sauce. The dumplings were less than mid. They were missing the filling and were flat (see pics). Price is decent and place is comfortable. Its a good spot for noodles on their good day

Water they serve is very clean.

Although, they made a mistake on my order, i will still give them 3 stars. The staff was helpful and polite. It is a hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant but it was clean. Washroom was clean.

Found this place while visiting Vancouver and it was a bit of a hole in the wall. I got an oxtail noodle soup and it was so flavorful. I can't wait to come back and try more!

Quick service, generous portions. Cumin lamb noodle has lots of lamb , is super greasy in a good way-- can use more cumin for sure, but I'm happy with it. Limited vegan options for my partner as the vegetarian dishes aren't too flavorful.

I have been a neighbor of this restaurant since the moved in. Four years ago their kitchen fan was broken and making a loud noise at 80 decibels. After 1.5 years and many complaints to the city it was finally repaired. Yesterday I got home a loud electric buzz was coming from the roof of the restaurant just off my balcony. Yesterday I called and requested they have the unit maintained as there is something wrong with it. Today I spoke with the manager "Brook" and asked if he received my message and arranged service. Brook informed me that the unit is new and there is nothing wrong with it. I told him that he needed to have the vendor out as the unit is defective and I can hear it through double pained glass. He cut me off telling me if I had a problem I need to complain to the city. Well I have and I ask you all to boycott this bad neighbor and business operator. This rich person needs to be shown that being a bad neighbor is bad for business.

This place is Legen (wait for it) DARY! It's been 5 stars all the way every visit. The decor is like stepping into a small dimly-lit, magical hideaway decorated with authentic Asian touches. Each time I ask what one of the really cool wooden implements are. But, it's the food. Oh the food! Here's what we order: brisket noodles (watch as they are made in the glass-fronted kitchen), peanut noodles with chicken, lamb cumin noodles, pea shoots and "soup dumplings" or Xiaolongbao. I like to vary the noodles but it's interesting - how some shapes and widths really suit the sauce better than others - in each dish. If anyone says the house tea is not worth the money (gasp) simply refer to the pic with this review. It tastes as good as it looks. Whenever we go, no one can agree on what is the best dish. The only consensus is we all decide to lick our plates.

Cut noodles with curry lamb. Delicious! This is a small restaurant, you can see your food being freshly prepared. The staff is very nice and accommodating. I'd definitely go back and try their soup dishes. The cut noodles is enough for two people.

More of a 3.5 for the food, but the service want that great so I'm rounding down. The server was nice, but was always on her phone or chatting with colleagues so I literally had to get up and walk over to her and ask her to take our order. Portions are decent for the price. It came to $55 for four people and we ordered two mains and for appetisers. I have an issue with their menu labelling, since they somehow think that shrimp is vegetarian?? I also wish that they would distinguish between vegan and vegetarian options. Ambience and prices are good though. Our food was all served in less than ten minutes, but we came here at 4pm so there were only two other people there. Peanut Noodles (3/5) The sauce was okay, though vegetables were severely lacking. The noodles weren't that great unfortunately, as they clumped together and were rather chewy and doughy. We still finished it, but it wasn't that enjoyable. Just be glad that I like peanut sauce. Pea Shoots (5/5) These were surprisingly the highlight of the whole meal. The vegetables were fresh and cooked perfectly, which is super difficult to do with pea shoots. Flavours were great, and we had no complaints whatsoever. Vegetable Dumplings (2.5/5) I didn't like them that much as the flavours were a little strange for some reason. However they were served hot so that is a plus. Fried Rice (2.5/5) Got this for my brother to go and it was very oily when he ate it. We also specifically asked for no peas but they forgot. Salt and Pepper Chicken (3.5/5) These were alright, according to family. The flavour and texture was decent, but again, nothing spectacular. Spring Rolls (4/5) These were pretty decent. There was a lack of filling and it was too much deep fried dough, but the sauce was good and they were served hot. Not bad, but not great either. Overall this place is alright. If you're just looking for average quality comfort food that will full you up for a cheap price, then this is the place to go.

Pea shoots

I heard good things about this place so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Brisket Noodle ($12.25) which came with tender fatty beef with spinach and green onions and paid $1.50 more for a side of fried chicken. I found the beef and noodles to be very well made. Thoroughly impressed and will definitely be back next time I feel like beef noodle! The side order of fried chicken ended up being too much food for me (a relatively big eater) since the size of the noodle is actually quite big for the price. Parking in this region of Denman can be difficult (and expensive) so I recommend taking the transit or walking if possible. However, if you are lucky - you may be able to scout out the 2 hr free residential parking spots in the neighbourhood.

Speaks for itself :(

Your preference will depend upon subtleties about noodle thickness and texture and broth flavors, but there is always, always a line in front of Ramen Danbo. A lot of it is probably due to hype or fame, but I have to admit that I think it does edge out the others in several ways. I think the noodles themself are more flavorful and more delicate. And I have to say the pork was extremely tender and flavorful. The egg was perfectly prepared, and the broth was perfectly seasoned to my desired spiciness level. They also do a great job searing their gyozas. Because of its overwhelming popularity, they have perfected the ordering process so that you can fill out a form while you're in line, which greatly reduces your wait time. It's easy to get in and out of here in 30 min, and I'm sure that is their goal. As a result, the dining experience might not exactly be relaxing, but if your focus is on the best quality bowl of noodles that you can get, I think it is worth the wait.

You order and they make it in front of you and you head over to grab your tempura or sides and then you head off to the till to pay. It is a very efficient system. Noodles a bit under, just a tad too firm and didnt have the signature chew. I had the nikutami bowl, and the broth was too salty. The egg was soft-poached fine, and the beef was fine. I also got a tempura shrimp, which was fine. A bit battery heavy but crispy and fresh enough despite sitting under the heating lamp. Also got a piece of tempura spicy chicken - basically coated in shichimi and i think chili oil. This one was WAY too salty. They had a new yuzu drink which I also tried - too sweet, and for $5, total rip off. Considering the quality, their prices are on the high side. Its just not good enough a product, especially when there is exceptionally good ramen to be found elsewhere in Vancouver. Street meter parking if you can find it. Otherwise there are paid lots nearby. Counter service, and people were friendly enough. The inside of the restaurant is typical. Clean enough. nothing fancy.

Paid parking was not too hard to find on the Main Street but during busy dining hours it might be difficult. We got seated right away at the bar since there were no tables open and the service was quick. Traditional Japanese style ambiance and even the bathroom had rounded Japanese bowl sink. As someone who doesn't have chicken broth (paitan style) ramen, I was really looking forward to the original ramen I ordered but I was a bit disappointed in the flavor profile of the dish. The ramen had both chasu and seaweed paired with thin round noodles. The broth was creamy and had a hint of chicken flavor but even adding several rounds of their soy sauce/salt seasoning they have on the side to adjust your broth to your liking-- I found that the richness of the soup was not what I had expected from the reviews that I read prior to coming here. Overall, a bit disappointed in the flavoring of the broth but maybe we came on an off day. I would be willing to give it a shot again in the future if I had ramen cravings and given that it was very affordable ($11-15 per bowl with tip), but I would probably opt to try another place first.

Review #3 for 2026 I…read morereally wanted to like this place. I watched many videos and read reviews before coming here, but it just did not hit the spot. After a cold day of exploring Stanley Park, we felt that ramen would really hit the spot, so we went here not wanting to deal with a wait at Danbo with a hungry and tired toddler. There was NO wait when we arrived here and we were seated immediately... which for a place that was really hyped up, should had made us think twice. There was only 1 other party at the restaurant. Now, the workers were super nice and the food came out quickly and we did eat everything because we were starving. We all ordered the cha-shu tamago ramen, 2 of us got spicy and 2 of us non-spicy. It came with extra chashu and the soft boiled egg for about $20 Canadian. The bowl was a good size and there was a promo for free extra noodles while we were there. Everyone except me in our group took advantage of it because I was too full from my bowl. Now, the broth here is different from other places because it is chicken based and not pork based. Everything I had seen about this place promised the broth is every bit just as good as the pork bone broth... however, the broth we received looked flavorful, but was bland. It was completely bland. There was no richness to it, not even a hint. I don't know, coming from southern California, the flavor just was not there period. We did all eat our food because we were starving, but it for sure did not hit the spot at all. Maybe we got an off day? Otherwise our broth had literally zero flavor to it. We all wished we had tried the other ramen place instead right after trying our ramen. Would I come back? I will have to say definitely no. We do not live in Vancouver and I do not want to waste any meals on a place that did not taste good the first time we went.

The gentleman (owner?) greeted us and provided us with some suggestions on their best sellers. During our dining experience, he was a little loud with shouting instructions to the kitchen and we did feel a bit rushed to finish our meal and not occupy the table with diners lining up. I ordered the beef noodle soup, and the noodles were prepared well (good texture and not soggy) and the soup had a slight but not overwhelm sour taste from the preserved vegetables. The beef wasn't as tender as it could be, but it wasn't chewy or tough to eat. Prices are reasonable at around $20 after tax and tips. While it wasn't the best or most authentic beef noodle soup I've had, it does hit the spot if I'm craving Taiwanese food downtown or want a hot bowl of noodle soup on a cold day.

I think most people do that so it also gets filled up during the lunch hour rush. The food is ok, nothing special. The price increase makes it even less appealing. I don't know why there is chili in my Taiwanese beef noodle soup. I don't like spicy soup. Lucky I am ok with spice but I wish it is stated in the menu? So if you cannot take spicy food, check with them before ordering. The beef noodle soup is tasty as I do like the addition of pickled vegetables in it, giving a bit of tartness. The beef is tender though the quantity is very little. More noodles than meat ratio. The combo is totally not worth it now that the price has gone up to about $13. If you want rice and noodle for lunch, I think Peaceful Restaurant across the street is a better bet. At least the portion is bigger.

Usually, this soup base has a lot of depth and flavour from broth that's been simmering for a long time to extract those flavours, but this was probably one of the worst ones I've tried. Decent portion of meat, at least 3-4 large slices of Vietnamese ham and goor amount of beef slices. The noodles were SUPER undercooked! Good portion of bean sprouts, and came with 1 wedge of lime. Beef Brisket and Beef Ball in Noodle Soup (Large $17.62) - again, VERY bland broth. The noodles also tasted sort of like freezer burn? Decent portion of meat and filling enough. Just had to douse in Siracha and oyster sauce to finish the bowl though... Pork Spring Rolls ($10.48) - flavour was decent, nothing special. Deep fried okay as well.
