My family and I have been going to this location for years and our experience has their ups and downs. When going for lunch time, there was no wait and only a few people in the restaurant, at the time we went, so service was relatively quick. But upon sitting down and getting water, depending on who your server is, you might be waiting a good 10-20 minutes or if you are lucky, much quicker than that. With our server, we unfortunately got the slower side of service. Upon several minutes of glancing at the menu, putting the menu down and waiting for around 10-15 minutes to be serviced, the female waitress (Again, keep in mind the restaurant was NOT busy): Was on the phone the entire time or when she had the chance to be on it. Was giving a rude attitude the entire time to us and other customers. Kept passing our table about 7-8 times before we had to raise our voices to let her know we were ready. Never checked in with us after receiving the food or to refill water. I feel like there was a number of other things but those were what stood out to me and my family. When getting the food, we have no complaints on that, as the food was good, had a variety of choices to choose from and worth the price. The black pepper fried noodles were the best! The perfect amount of pepper on the noodles. The mentaiko udon was a bit dry and I wish it was creamier. We really enjoyed the hazelnut toast and I'm not one who typically likes hazelnut. It was the right balance of nutty and sweet. I think their bubble tea is pretty average. It's good but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it. The wontons were a hit they were packed with meat. We did have to get up to go pay even though we asked for the bill to come to us. This place is nostalgic for me because it was one of the restaurants I went to when I was in high school. Bubble World serves Taiwanese cuisine and I usually get their beef noodle soup. However, this time I tried their pork intestine noodle because I see it featured in a lot of Taiwanese street food videos and I've never had it before. The broth was very thick and had crushed raw garlic. The noodles were quite thin and I feel like there wasn't a lot in terms of quantity. It's Bubble World. Not a lot can really go wrong. Their bubbles teas never seem to fail me. This time I got the grass jelly drink which did not skimp on grass jelly. In fact, there wasn't much drink and mostly grass jelly. Lol. I didn't mind. Ordered the popular salt and peppery chicken nugget combo which I noticed they added more side dishes. Not 1 but 2 spring rolls as well as some Chinese sausage pieces. The portion of chicken nuggets was pretty generous and as always MSG flavourful! So I'd say portion to price ratio is pretty good. I have visited this location many times, both to sit down and eat and to order to-go drinks. Whichever you choose, the service is pretty good: wait staff are friendly, your food/drink of choice will arrive within about ten minutes or less, and the bathroom rarely has a lineup. When I was in a wheelchair I visited this place and they were able to help me find a table, but there is nothing designated for disabled people and the washroom isn't necessarily easy to get to. Still, this is a great place to bring a group of friends or a date. The food is always tasty and the drinks are large. Bubble World New West was always my favorite of the chain locations and while I still recommend it over the Surrey location, it's mainly because of the CASH ONLY issue. read more

Showed up to the location only to find a few of their employees smoking INSIDE the restaurant (in the photo, one of the employees is holding her cigarettes behind her legs), door still unlocked (I was able to go inside and had to ask if they were still going to take orders before last call since all the lights were on and they had drinks) and open sign still on (turned it off 5 mins after I asked). Stir-fried Noodle with Seafood Review: First of all, I'm sorry I haven't posted in SO LONG. I was being a little sad butch and I was also super busy in summer school. But fret not, now I'll post at least 1-2 times or up to 7 times in a week LMAO. Well for the noodles, I can cook this :/ The noodle texture is good it's not over cooked but the sauce is too salty for my taste and I can tell they put A LOT of oyster sauce it's like 90% oyster sauce For seafood it was mainly just processed seafood stuff like 魚蛋，魚腐，imitation crab meat... that stuff you know? As for REAL seafood it's there was ONE mussel and ONE shrimp. The mussel was grainy and wasn't cleaned well while the shrimp was tough and rubbery. Both the mussel and shrimp were TI NY In the stir fry there was 芥蘭 (sorry idk what it is in english: I think chinese broccoli?) and it was undercooked. The business there wasn't bad tbh and the prices are pretty cheap. I just I don't really like their dishes, they used to be really tasty but now eh. Their mini hot pot is pretty good and so is their salty peppery chicken nuggets but other than that all the other dishes I've tried isn't too spectacular or special. I've been going to this location for 10 years and I've noticed their service has improved over the years. They used to be rude and short with words (rarely got my special request right) but now they ask questions and listen when we order. I did remove one star based on the fact that today my friend's food arrived while mine sat at the counter for a bit.. due to that fact, my soup was lukewarm and my nuggets got cold before I was halfway through. The best bubble tea is the Oreo one with pearls - tastes 10 times better than an Oreo mcflurry. Friends of mine have also ordered food here and they loved it. Service is always good and super fast. Overall Bubble World's bubble teas are pretty good. My favourite is the mango ice cream slush, with no toppings. I wouldn't recommend their pearls though. I usually find that their pearls are not sweet enough and aren't very soft and chewy. I'd personally recommend getting their bubble tea with no toppings or other toppings besides pearls, as their bubble teas are very good (minus the pearls). Most of the menu items are very delicious. I highly recommend their famous chicken nuggets and squid feet. I also recommend their satay beef noodles if you want delicious, flavourful noodles. One thing I would have to mention is when you come here, don't be afraid to flag down a server. Bubble World tends to get very busy, thus servers are often rushing around and do not have time to be attentive to every table. All the servers are very nice though!! Bubble World seems like a busy restaurant among young adults especially during dinner hours. The atmosphere tends to not be so comforting when the restaurant is busy, but the service makes up for it. Normally when I visit restaurants like these I don't find myself ordering anything really special but as I looked through the menu, the Assorted Stir Fry Pork Intestines with Pork Blood Chef's Special caught my eye. I've had this dish in several other restaurants in Los Angeles but when I tried this dish at Bubble World, I was appalled at how the pork blood was cooked to my liking. The deep fried chicken wings were delicious as well but were typical, what could go wrong with that? Unfortunately, I did not have a chance to try the boba drinks or other tasty sounding dishes that would fit within my budget. Maybe next time when I take a long trip to BC, I'll visit this place again if it's still in business. read more

Each location seems to make the food a bit differently. This location is always busy even on a weeknight. They should probably update their menus soon as the ones we got were tattered and new prices were written in for the food items. However, I still like the food. The food quality is average. The drinks are okay. Service is average. It is a good late night option for me when I am hungry in Surrey and debating what else to eat. The honeydew slush tasted extremely "it was made from power." This is what happens when you do not order off the limited fresh fruit section. The deep fried chicken leg was crunchy and flavourful. The noodles in soup that accompanied the chicken was alright. I did not eat the beef noodle soup. I think this is a good late night option for a snack, dessert, drinks or dinner. Prices are still reasonable. read more

This one is different from the one I've been to in Coquitlam as this one has a savory menu. The order process is rather confusing. I've been here many times before and for some reason, I keep coming back. Maybe its because of their bubble tea and delicious food for affordable prices? This place can get extremely noisy and busy even early in the afternoon. You often have to wait to be seated. So if you're looking for a place to have a meeting or a nice date, this is not where you'd want to go. They do take-outs though. So you could drop by and order right from the receptionist or call-in your order by phone and just pick it up at their location. Unfortunately, no delivery :(. As for the staff, it all depends who's working during your stay and how cranky your server is. But I've noticed that in this location, servers usually tend to be more friendly than the other locations like kingsway (metrotown). Im not saying they're super friendly that will do anything for you and always greet you with a smile. No no. Im saying they just wouldnt bug you as much and they wouldnt roll their eyes on you when you have too many requests (of course it depends on your server). But anyway, like other servers in other bubble world locations, they also frown upon you when you end up not leaving a tip. The location in kingsway EXPECTS you to leave a tip. At least in my experience, our server actually stood and wait for us to give her our change. Jeez. We gave her some change in the end but she asked for more. tsk tsk. But that was the one near metrotown. In surrey, I've yet to experience that again. As for the food, they're all good. I always order Takoyaki (around $5) and their sweet and sour chicken leg (around $7). The serving of the sweet & sour chicken is HUGE! You could share it with 2-3 people maybe. Okay maybe just for 2 people. but you do need extra rice if you would share which is around $1.25 I think? around that. Sometimes you'd get the chicken swimming in the sweet & sour sauce OR sometimes mostly chicken with the sauce sprinkled on top. That's what I have experienced. Their bubble tea is affordable and yummy. I always get milky taro slush. Overall, if Im craving bubble tea, this is where I would go, even if it's just for take out. I would prefer going to this location rather than the one near metro town for 2 reasons. Better service, somewhat bigger location. I deducted 2 stars because even for a bubble world joint, I always expect quality service. Even for just the slightest bit of good and effortful service. Dont you agree? But for their business, I dont think they care as much about service because their products sell themselves. So I guess I'd say props to the chefs/cooks! Oh! and minus 1 star for lack of cleanliness. They dont clean the tables very well, they just wipe it with wet cloth (which looks like they havent rinsed before using again) and they expect customers to sit down and eat there.
