Portuguese bubble waffle
Thu P.

I got a "Portuguese" bubble waffle here, which is a bubble waffle with Portuguese egg tart custard filling! It was good, but not great. The egg tart filling flavour wasn't coming out as much as I've had at other bubble waffle establishments. But the bubble waffle was really good and had a crispy outer layer and chewy inside! Perfect for a soft mouth like mine. It was really busy so service was slow but expected as it takes time to cook a waffle fresh! I enjoyed watching the server make the different waffles while I waited. There's not much space to sit inside, so expect to enjoy your waffle elsewhere.

Egg waffle - best is Portuguese

Love this place. My favorite is the Portuguese egg waffle which has custard in it! There is usually 8-10 minute wait but the staff is pretty chill too. There is usually a line so everyone else loves it too, but definitely drop by!

I've tried Mango Slush, Matcha Waffle and Hojicha Milk Tea so far Matcha Waffle and Hojicha Milk tea were the best things ever! Mango Slush wasn't bad at all. Hojicha Milk Tea has this toasty milk tea flavour with milky taste similar to Roasted Milk Tea from Chatime. Matcha Waffle ($6.99) was freshly made and mochi pieces were squishy. I think the mochi pieces were packaged Bingsoo toppings from a grocery store. Matcha Wafffle seemed kind of expensive, but the after taste of green tea was slightly bitter and sweet. It was pretty good. You really gotta try the Hojicha Milk Tea it was so yummy!

I didn't order any boba...
Hanning X.

After trying one of their milk teas on a rainy winter day, I'm ecstatic for Eggstatic! Sorry, I had to. Anyway, located in the crystal mall right next to an entrance, this tiny place was packed with customers when I went on a weekend afternoon after having accompanied the fam in buying some groceries. They have a few small tables and chairs and a counter to order from, and that's about it, but a lot of people, mostly a younger crowd, were dropping by to get their boba fix. I waited quite a while for my order that day. Granted I'm not an expert at boba in the Burnaby area, but coming from SoCal where the milk tea flows almost as freely as water, I was pleasantly satisfied with my order. I tried their Hojicha on 30% sugar. I opted for no boba since I wasn't in the mood for it so I can't comment on that; however the milk tea was solid. Definitely pop by this place for a drink if you are in the Crystal Mall!

Jasmine Green Tea - no ice no sugar
Tiff H.

On the way out of Crystal Mall, we decided to stop at Cafe Eggstatic for something sweet. We decided to share a bubble waffle and I got myself an iced jasmine green tea to go. You can adjust the sweetness and ice level to your personal preference. The wait was crazy, I don't know why it takes so long for them to make a waffle, I think we waited for 10-15 minutes. There seemed to be a backup on waffle making. We ended up getting the classic authentic HK style egg waffle, which was hot and tasty when warm. As others have mentioned, it was chewy like rice mochi and crispy on the edges. If only it didn't take so long to make! But the fresh quality ALMOST made it worth it. Great for the on the go snack!

honeydew milk tea w/ pearls
Dana S.

Really enjoyed my bubble tea from here! The tea itself had a fresh taste and a slight brown sugar flavour, and the texture of the pearls was super good, soft and chewy. The people who served me were quite nice, and the prices for tea are cheaper than a lot of comparable places. Only thing to be aware of is that some drinks can only be ordered hot, which is not shown on the menu. Didn't order an egg waffle, but thought it was cool that they make them in front of you and the smell was heavenly.

We stopped by Cafe Eggstatic as their menu caught my eye while we were in Crystal Mall. We got their High Mountain Oolong Milk Tea and their Matcha & Mochi bubble waffle. Being a lifelong fan of bubble waffle, theirs was very fresh and tasty especially out of the oven! Their milk tea was okay but with so many other choices for bubble tea in the area, I would probably choose somewhere else to go.

Matcha Oreo Smoothie and Cream Float with Genmaicha
Gloria F.

Finally decided to try their bubble tea. I ordered the Cream float with Genmaicha. The drink was fragrant and it went very well with the cream float. I wish I ordered the drink with less sugar because the cream was also very sweet. My husband ordered the matcha oreo smoothie. It can use more oreos. The shop was always busy whenever we are at Crystal Mall. There are a few tables but I would probably take our drinks to go. The drink prices may seem more pricey but if you like flavors like Genmaicha like me, then its worth it. I would say its a must try! #loveGenmaicha

Well very standard kind of drinks. They are located inside Crystal mall first floor. I do find their prices cheaper than their competitors. Egg waffle is less than $4 and the places in Richmond or nearby sells it around $5.50. I see a lot of people buying. Also line up and wait is around 10 to 15 mins. Its a really small place so mostly for people to pickup to go. I got the peach calpris drink (green tea base). It was good. The drink is less than $4 after tax. Good prices. Cheaper than upstairs food court.

Mochi in each bite!
Emma L.

Came here to try their bubble waffle, got the combo hk bubble waffle and hk milk tea. Upgraded to matcha mochi bubble waffle which is 100% worth it! Each bite had a piece of mochi in it. Pearls were nice and soft, milk tea was subtle but I loved it that way.

Roasted Oolong Milk Tea - 30% sugar, no ice.
Cyn C.

Second visit: Back here again to improve on my first visit - got a Roasted Oolong Milk Tea, 30% sugar, NO ice this time. The no ice was a winner, as I could really taste the strong Oolong tea which I'm in LOVE with! Plus even without the ice it was cold enough. Did not really taste the sugar at all, so I'm thinking of going no sugar next time. I forgot which review it was, but the reviewer mentioned sipping to really taste the tea - and this was spot on. Sip that ish and you'll have an enjoyable drink for close to 2 hours. I absolutely feel a difference mood-wise when I drink Oolong regularly probably because it's semi-fermented so it's a bit like green tea (calming, stress reducing) and black tea (slightly stimulating/more alert). I just feel a sense of wellness wash over me, and nothing really bothers me. Let's be honest, bubble/milk tea isn't really considered a health drink, but this is as close as it gets if you minimize the sugar. Chatime is still superior to Eggstatic in tea strength and milky consistency, but it costs more for a smaller cup ($4.50 at Eggstatic vs. $4.94 at Chatime). With that said, this is going to be my go to for a while. Highly recommend their teas with no ice and a lot less sugar!

Located in Crystal Mall close to the foodcourt, this place offers bubble tea and bubble waffles. I usually drop by for their bubble tea. I recommend the roasted oolong milk tea with grass jelly with 80% sugar and regular ice. I think they got the sweetness level right! Yummy! The honey green milk tea was also good - it has a nice sweetness to it as well. We've only had their mango slush one time but it wasn't as mango-ey flavoured as we have hoped for. Maybe I would stick to their milk teas. The staff is friendly. On one occassion, I was squinting at the menu (thank you bad eyesight), and one of the staff members passed me a paper menu. I thought that was really nice of him and it was much appreciated! The prices are pretty decent - not too expensive. They also take card; big plus for me! Their stamp card is seriously cute as I am a big fan of gudetama. If you earn 9 stamps you get a free drink. I do think they should show a bit more care making their bubble waffles. I know it can get messy with all the stuff going on behind the counter but sometimes taking your time and making it right can save time re-making it. Would recommend this bubble tea /waffle place for a quick snack.

First of all, the price! Bubble tea here is cheaper than most bbt stores. They take credit cards, too! I guess their special are the egg waffles as they were costly and right at the front of the store. They make the waffles right in front of you and it's super enticing! They also give more pearls than the average bbt store. There's been a line up each time I visit but I think that the drinks are worth the wait. I'll come back to try the delicious looking waffles next time!

Order at the counter and they'll call your number to get the food. Waited for 5 mins for our order. We got the red bean bingsoo. Pretty substantial serving of shaved ice with red bean, shaved almond, raisin, and other toppings. I like that the toppings weren't super sweet, but they also give a small cup of condensed milk to up the sweetness. Portion is definitely for sharing unless you want to eat dessert for a meal.

The shaved milk ice itself wasn't very saturated or creamy, and there was a lot of cocoa powder, which made it taste kind of dry overall. I didn't leave feeling super satisfied. They have a 5-piece combo deal where it comrs out to just a little over $3 per taiyaki. The supermarket right below sells 3 taiyakis (that are very good) for about $5 though, so Little Pisces is a bit expensive comparatively. The ice cream come with a taiyaki on top and is super cute. There's usually quite a long line to order and to get the food. Sometimes the line is out the door. Even after ordering, they give you a little buzzer thing that buzzes when your order is ready. This can take quite a long time if there's alot of people. While there is seating, it is limited and people tend to stay awhile, so don't depend on being able to eat inside. In the winter it kind of sucks as you have to exit to eat. I also came here for their hot chocolate festival drinks. The lines were insanely long. The hot chocolate was $12 each and not very big. While the flavors were unique, they weren't very good overall and took forever to wait for.
