Matcha waffle
Kay F.

An old school bubble tea cafe which somewhat reminds me of Dragon Tea House. Unfortunately none of the bubble teas drew me in but I did end up getting a matcha waffle which I thought was pretty good. Although it was made fresh, I thought it was only okay. Maybe I should have stuck with a bbt offering instead.

I was here on June 2nd Sunday while walking around Cambie. I kinda wanted to try Xing FuTang, but didn't feel like spending so much. Hot Cha was the best choice within my budget. I got Pineapple Lycheese Cheescake for small ($2.99) it was the best deal I've had. Nowadays bbt ranges from $5-$6 so HC won't break the bank and I can save a bit of cash. My drink was good; it was tart and sweet like yogurt slush. I recommend this place if you want something tasty and cheap. This place reminds of Milk and Sugar Cafe near Joyce.

I like this place. The bubble tea are reasonably priced. They have fresh fruits drinks. Bubbles, Coconut Jelly and Rainbow Jelly are free. Only down fall is that they accept Cash and Debit only. I got the daily special Pinapple Peach drink with Coconut Jelly. It was good. The large was only $3.50. It was actually too large for me. This place has free wifi and so this is a plus. It's located just between 16th ave and 17th ave on Cambie. It would be better if it's closer to Broadway for me. But that is a personal preference. This is a family ran business. The owner was super friendly. She even bought her son to work. This place not only have bubble tea or hot drinks, they also serve crepes. I will have to come back to try their crepes.

boba and mango ice cream (1 scoop)

My friend introduced me to this place last week and I'm obsessed! The menu selection and prices actually remind me alot of Milk & Sugar Cafe, they even have the weekly specials board too! I haven't tried the boba here yet but my friend is obsessed with it and says it's the best in the area. I decided to get a scoop of mango ice cream in a cone and the portion was HUGE! Not only that but it was under $5. Extremely affordable, tasty, great portion and good customer service! Love this place and will come back

The prices here are unreal. This is how much I paid for bubble tea 15 years ago in highschool! There is a great selection of flavours and lots of space for sitting inside. The pearl quality is not as good as some of the Taiwanese bbt places. They are a bit more on the chewy side and similar to T&T. However, the tea flavours and options make for the price provide great value!

Such a cozy mom-and-pop bubbletea joint. We were here midday on the weekend, and it was decently busy, but we still got a table with only 1 other person in line. That should say something for a BBT shop in between Canada Line stations. Our drinks were specially served by the kids of the family who must've been under 12 years old - cuties! There were endless drink choices, but it seems like they specialize in ice cream and cheesecake bubbletea flavours as they had a couple chalkboard menus dedicated to them. I tasted the roasted milk tea and strawberry cheesecake bubbletea - so good! The cheesecake one was a little thick, but I liked mine that way and gobbled it up before my friend finished his much-less-thick milk tea (winner!)

Weekly Specials!

Great little cafe with lots of bubble tea selections. Prices are very affordable, especially compared to a lot of other bbt franchises. Weekly specials are around $3.50 for a large drink, and pearls or coconut jelly are even added for free. I had the mango coconut cheese cake and fresh durian drinks, both of which were great :) not too sweet and tasted fresh. The lady there was really nice and friendly, and even though she was the only one working at that time, the drinks were ready really quickly! Would definitely come back again :)

Family run bubble tea place with about 5/6 tables. Clean not overly modern but the drinks are delicious and cheap. We had the passion fruit cheesecake with coconut jelly and strawberry mango slush with coconut jelly. So good. There's also some food items like curry fish balls and condensed milk toast, we didn't have an opportunity to try but will definitely try it next time. There's free wifi. The only downside is that this place only takes cash and debit.

The passion fruit green tea is the best I've had in my life and I've had a lot of bubble tea.

Mango ice cream bubble tea

Hot Cha Cafe is becoming my go to place for bubble tea. It's a small family business--one of the things that define Vancouver for me. The bubble tea is not trendy like all the other chains. It's the classic tea or fruit bevy with tapioca. Like how it was when bubble tea first arrived in Canada. And as many other people mentioned, it's on the cheaper side, which is also a bonus.

Awesome late night bubble tea place and an extension of Milk and Sugar on the Cambie corridor. While they do crepe, waffles, and a few savoury food items, the mainstays are their weekly specials. Pro tip the cheesecake drinks are always a safe bet. I also like the fresh fruit options. Either way, hot cha is a refreshing change from the typical Taiwanese chains and generic drinks. The fact that the prices are also very reasonable is a huge plus too.

Selections are decent. however the menu is very confusing as they have a posted menu online, a digital menu via QR code and some posted menus. Unfortunately the menus were not in sync. My friend saw a couple of things she wanted to try from the online menu and was told they do not have those items. There are combo on the spot which are not their online menu and the digital menu. We ordered the chicken panini, a small mango bingsu and an order of tue mochi bubble waffle and taro milk tea. The food is very good. there is decent amount of ingredients in the chicken panini (which i forgot to take a picture of). The mochi bubble waffle was decent and i liked the taro milk tea as well. The bingsu was very well made but the price is a bit on the high end given the size. Overall service was good too

A fun hole in the wall dessert spot x flower shop!…read more Essentially there's a dessert counter in a shared space with a flower shop operated by the one owner - super adorbable concept, the boss was so nice to introduce his menu to us as well! Located on the same block as quite a few other popular HK dessert spots, I more inclined to go to Rose Cafe because it's quieter and a more comfortable environment to relax and sit around in. The boss mentioned they can make anything for us (!) including ginger milk, the sago desserts and that they event have the pistachio paste (yum!). For a quick dessert run - I opted for the small mango shaved iced, it's served with nice and ripe mango chunks, and a fresh mango shaved ice base. For just about $10 it's worth the dessert stop! They had a nice menu of several classic HK items - from deep fried chicken wings, to bubble waffles to pearl based drinks that only HK locals would order. Worth a try if and when you're in the Nanaimo / Kingsway area! Also (!) - very reasonably priced flowers and potted plants!!!

He rang us up, then ran behind curter to make our drinks. It didn't seem too busy here so maybe it was manageable for him. This is one of the better boba spots I have tried in Richmond where they have some creative drinks…read moresuch as the ones with panna cotta and mochi. I personally tried the cheese foam black tea with mochi and golden pearls which costed close to 10CAD. The cheese foam was slightly salty and pretty creamy, and the taste is much more pronounced when you dip the plain mochi into the drink. The mochi itself was slightly soft though a bit uneven in texture as some parts are chewy and some parts are already a little bit dry. I do like they nicely wrapped the mochi in a plastic bag to preserve the moisture, though I ended up trying it out immediately to get the maximum freshness. The tea itself is flavorful and not too sweet, which is what I intended because I opted for light sugar (30%). The golden pearls were pretty chewy and are the right preferred texture. While I liked the general quality of the drinks, like other reviews mentioned, the price of the drinks are a bit on the higher end but the quality did not really scale up compared to a good boba spot.
