Why Bruxie is not in Northern California is beyond me. Expand dammit, expand!! I LOVE waffles. I prefer them over pancakes all the time, even though I love the bacon pancake song from Adventure Time. Waffles are just awesome. They have little pockets that hold all the sweet OR savory goodness. Crispy on the outside (because a waffle should NEVER be soggy) and soft and pillowy interior. That's how a waffle should be. Bruxie hit all my waffle points. You want a sweet waffle? Go ahead! You want a savory waffle? Make it a waffle burger. You can go either way with this so Bruxie is perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch, linner, dinner, dessert etc. I went for the cheese one w/ bacon and avocado (how Californian of me). Great flavor from the gruyere and how can you not love bacon an avocado? My girlfriends and I also tried the "Irish Nachos" which are basically just waffle fries with cheese and sour cream. Bruxie has been one of my bookmarks FOREVER. And when that day finally came for me to come and unbookmark it, it was nothing short of amazing. Here is what I've tried so far: Green Eggs and Ham (5/5): My favorite savory waffle by far! I lovee arugula, and their arugula pesto has such a prominent peppery, arugula flavor that it just makes this waffle spectacular. Plus a jumbo egg? I mean pesto + egg... you do the math. Turkey Club (3/5): The turkey club was good, but nothing memorable. The avocado added the perfect amount of creaminess and cut the saltiness from the bacon. Adding sriracha definitely added a nice kick. Smoked Salmon Lox (4/5): I don't like smoked salmon, but I thought this was pretty good, so that says a lot. Their dill cream cheese was definitely the star to me, especially when you got a bite of cucumber with it, mmmm!! Nutella and Bananas (5/5): AH-MAZ-ING!! Literally, one of the best things I've had in my life, BUT only if you get it with strawberries and a side of frozen custard. When you take a bite of the nutella-filled waffle with a scoop of custard, you experience what I call a foodgasm. The cooling sensation of the custard not only adds nice moisture to this waffle, but cuts some of the sweetness of the nutella making this a perfect pairing. YOU MUST GET THIS!! Lemon Meringue "Pie" (4/5): Another great dessert waffle, but a little too sweet for me (even with the frozen custard). I really liked the toasted marshmallow in this though, it made me think of all those summers I spent camping as a kid. When I walked up to the counter to order at Bruxie's, I was still undecided on what to order and when the guy at the register recommended the special of the day; pulled pork, I took him up on the offer. I don't know why they don't offer this every day, because they absolutely nailed this sandwich. Mountains of meat folded into one of their signature waffles, along with cole slaw and their Carolina stye vinegary bbq sauce. Ironically, while the waffle was supposed to be the featured item, it was the weakest part of the meal. I found it to be plain and uninspiring. It served the purpose of bread and held the "sandwich" together OK but really added nothing to the meal. In spite of that, the pulled pork itself was still a 5 star item. However I am rating them a 4 due to the meh-ness of the side order. I ordered the "Irish Nachos" and was expecting a lot more from a side order priced at $5.95. These weren't nachos at all, nor were they were Irish. They were your basic criss-cut fries layered in a plastic bowl, with the top layer of fries topped with mediocre bacon, sour cream and some anonymous cheese sauce. This is a fun place to eat with a good environment. The staff was nice and the my chicken sandwich was super tasty. The waffles on my chicken sandwich were very crunchy though, crunchy enough that they were hard to bite into and hurt my gums a bit, but after that first bite they do melt in your mouth and taste great with their bruxie sauce! For my wife and I to eat there it was about $25 which I thought was pretty fair for what you get. I'd definitely go back some time if I get another craving for chicken and waffles. read more

Bruxie is clean, it has helpful, kind employees, the food is awesome, the coffee is strong and perfection, the seating outside is perfect on most of the sunny California mornings. I ordered the Belgium waffles for my son, a bacon, egg and cheese sammie for me (*hold the mayo), two coffees and the chicken and waffle sammie for Mr. R. The meal was delicious and I didn't even know I always wanted a bacon, egg and cheese sammie on a waffle, but Bruxie knew. Bruxie knows things about me that I didn't even know....for example, my husband's chicken and waffle was delightful and I am sure to order it next time. Instead of the torched sugar, we got burnt sugary syrup that I really could have done without. The custard was yummy, as were the strawberries... but the right execution with the sugar was what was needed to pull it all together... a nice sweet waffle sandwich regardless. Overall, its the well made fluffy and sweet, crispy waffles that make this place rock. That and their fresh ingredients and awesome spins on great classics. Plus, the service is great! Even though its order and seat yourself, the runners here are super helpful! They got us utensils and water, they checked up on us often, and never were we ignored or forgotten. I haven't been to the original location in Orange, so I can't say how they compare... but I can't wait to come back! This novelty waffle sandwich shop is located on Birch St next to the movie theaters. There is street parking (if you can find it) or else park in the nearby structure. The restaurant has an indoor/outdoor set up complete with warmers on a cool day. They have cafeteria style seating with large tables and chairs. Clean set up and clean restrooms. Overall the food was pretty good, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. We ordered: -Green Eggs & Ham - great, balanced pesto sauce. Bruxie has been on my radar for a long time. I wondered whether this waffle place would be one-dimensional. I had their Roasted Mushroom and Goat Cheese sandwich and I opted for the sun-dried tomatoes, which costed an extra dollar. Their waffles have a neutral flavor. The good thing about this is that it makes the waffle serve as a versatile canvas for sandwiches. The waffles are light, airy, and crispy. I think thats why savory sandwiches are often more popular than the sweets. It goes perfectly with the cheese and mushroom and the sun-dried tomatoes brings a sweetness to the sandwich. The sandwich is also filled with a little bit of arugula and basil. It's a refreshing sandwich - I know I'd love to try their prosciutto and gruyere sandwich on my next visit. The drawback to the subtle waffle flavor is that it doesn't necessarily add to what you're eating. Chicken and waffles were popularized by Roscoe's and Roscoe's waffles have distinct spice flavors, which goes great when paired with chicken, butter, and syrup. I look forward to trying Bruxie's chicken + waffle combo in a future visit to see how successful they are with it. Because the waffle is flavor neutral, the success of the dish largely depends on the quality of the chicken. My recommendation to you is to go for the biggest flavors on the menu - if you play it safe, your experience will be unmemorable. The unique flavor combinations offered here are what makes Bruxie pop into three dimensions. The waffles aren't a gimmick - they're just the canvas for the ingredients they have here. I wonder about whether the quality of their meats are good enough to work on these Bruxie waffles. I'll just have to come back to test that out. Also on my list to try are their creme brulee waffles, their frozen custard, and their popular irish nachos. So over the course of four days, I've been to Bruxie a total of three times. Yeah yeah, I know what that sounds like. Apparently, my inner fatty had come out to play. As one of Yelp's most popularly hyped places, I was more than happy to finally see what it was all about. Gourmet waffles always sound like an awesome idea and the different concoctions I've been lucky to try are as follows: Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Waffle - This was my very first waffle sandwich. Although I'm not the biggest fan of fried chicken, I thought that since it was my first time, I'd try their most popular item. This waffle came with a large piece of white meat chicken, chili honey, maple syrup and a light sprinkle of cole slaw. I wasn't too fond of this since I found the chili honey a bit overpowering and the chicken a bit too dry. Not the best combination, but I didn't allow this experience to thwart me. Green Eggs and Ham - So my friend, Sam, was like trying really hard to get me to try green eggs and ham and I was totally like, "I do not like them, Sam-I-am, I do not like green eggs and ham!" Just kidding, her name wasn't Sam. But after a little persuasion, my derision towards the idea of this particular sandwich changed after I took a bite and realized that I did like green eggs and ham! The eggs aren't actually green, by the way. This sandwich was filled with eggs, ham and pesto, which turned out to be a delicious and filling medley, with ingredients that complimented each other perfectly. Seasonal Creme Brulee - This is a must-try for all you first timers and believe me, even after your first time, you'll be wishing for seconds. Who doesn't like creme brulee? A crisp waffle filled with sweet vanilla creme, warm and crunchy burnt sugar and fresh, juicy strawberries? If that doesn't get your sweet tooth on, then all I can say is: you're doomed. I highly recommend sharing this though, since it can get pretty heavy from all that sweetness. Lemon Cream and Berries - Lemon and berries. Mmm. Great for those of you craving for a sweet yet tart flavor. The medley of lemon cream and fresh strawberries and blackberries go wonderfully together as expected. Not quite as tasty as the Seasonal Creme Brulee, but definitely a nice change. Oh, and you must definitely try the Irish Nachos. They consist of a basket of waffle fries, topped with a light cheese sauce, bacon bits, sour cream and chives. It's pretty much like eating a basket full of baked potatoes. I also had the Old-Fashioned Pure Cane Sugar Cola. Although cola is cola, I was curious to see if this pure cane sugar made much of a difference. Alas, it did. A minor one at that, but a refreshing change from the typical flat, syrupy fountain sodas usually found at restaurants. Okay, time to end my Bruxie rant. I think it's safe to say that Bruxie is definitely a must-try here in Socal. Put down that boring, old Subway sandwich and haul your butt over to Bruxie instead! read more

Within a span of about two weeks, I had stopped by Bruxie in Brea. On the first occasion, Gooch and I were on our man date in the area to pick up some doomsday prep gear and we decided that Bruxie was an ideal spot for lunch. It was a Saturday so the place was crowded and to find some opened seats was a challenge. Line up, take your order, and find a place to sit. Within minutes they will bring your food to you. Funny thing about it was that we ended up ordering the exact same items which I don't really like to do: two buttermilk fried chicken & waffles $7, both adding the additional maple syrup for $1, nacho waffle fries, and two ice lemonades. Fast forward two weeks later, we had an outing with a small group and we ended up at the same Bruxie again but this time it was a weekday. The place was much quieter and there were plenty of seats for our bigger party. This time the Gooch and I decided to order different sandwiches and just trade off halves. We had the pastrami sandwich and the turkey Reuben sandwich, nacho waffle fries, and two frozen lemonades. The buttermilk fried chicken and waffles are probably my favorite so far. It's more of a sandwich even though it doesn't taste like your average sandwich. It's unique and I wouldn't say it's the best darn chicken & waffle combo I've had but it's good enough to order again in future visits. The waffle is crispy and thin. The extra maple syrup for a buck is probably not needed though. It seems like there were some syrup in it to begin with. I think Gooch and I could've just shared one extra syrup and that would've been straight. On the other hand, the turkey Reuben and pastrami tasted more like a real sandwich and both were solid. I noticed that sometimes they have random specials. Be sure to try them if they sound good to you because the first time we went I think they had some pulled pork type sandwich and I passed up on it for the chicken & waffles since it was my first time and all. I came back and they were no longer available. =( The nacho waffle fries are perfect to share. It's not overwhelming and they don't go out of their way to drench the darn thing. Really, the food here reminded me of theme park style grub. I don't mean ghetto carnivals either but something along the lines of Disneyland status. One of those, if you haven't had it in a while, you'll start craving. Also for you sweet tooth's out there, be sure to check out their desserts. GEEZ. IT'S ABOUT TIME! I FINALLYYYY made my way over to try Bruxie after hearing so much hype about it for the past 2 years. I definitely think it's WAY overhyped... it's good but not life-changing. But yes, it's a pretty innovative idea - waffle sandwiches. Who woulda thought? I got the fried chicken & waffle sandwich. The chicken was a little too dry but I really liked the chili honey that it came with. I really wish there was more chili honey in it! It was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy and gave the sandwich flavor. I also wish there was more coleslaw in the sandwich since the chicken was so dry. The sandwich itself is pretty small so I was able to finish it but also feel satisfied from the heavy ingredients. It's good to try once but I probably wouldn't get this one again because there's so many other waffle sandwich choices that sound good on the menu. They also have dessert waffle sandwiches that sound amazing such as creme brulee, and nutella & banana. MMM definitely going to try those next time if I ever venture over here again! I had the smores waffle, it was fine really, just nothing that wowed me. I finally decided what to review as my first *Elite* review :) YUM, Bruxie! I knew they were going to open this place 2 months ago. I had been waiting and luckily I got to try it out on grand opening day! I got the Hot Pastrami Bruxie and Waffle Fries and my friend got the Turkey Club. They were both delicious! Kudos for all that avo in the Turkey Club :) The portions are huge and very filling. I have to go back to try the other sandwiches and desserts. It is a little bit pricey, $11.26 for a Bruxie Combo (Waffle sandwich & fries). The food is good though and if you don't eat a lot, then you can share with someone. The employees were very friendly and helpful, helped us decide what to order and cleaned up after us. There wasn't much seating, a small dining area indoors and medium outdoor patio, which was way too cold to sit outside at night. I really like the location in Downtown Brea, surrounded by many other restaurants and movie theaters. Not too busy for grand opening, though we got there after dinner time. Bruxie is definitely hyped up, yet it's that way for a reason. Lines are always way long, but worth the wait for me! I tend to crave their waffles after not having it for a while. For some reason their waffles taste better than others... lol, light and crunchy. I've tried a varied amount of their menu and I don't have anything bad to say about any of them. Their most popular is supposedly the buttermilk fried chicken but quite honestly, I'd rather prefer Roscoe's chicken and waffles just 'cause I like the actual fried chicken compared to the chicken here but it's not bad. Smoked salmon with dill cream cheese, my all time favorite here!! Thinly cut salmon slices 'smoked' with the perfect amount of cream cheese spread on the waffle. The hot pastrami was really good too, even though it was soaked in oil but whatever, it was yums. Imagine the turkey club as a regular turkey sandwich you can buy at a deli store, but instead of bread, it'd be with Bruxie's waffles. Had a bite of my friend's burger waffle and it was good. I love burgers, so this was perfect with their waffles instead of regular buns. Their seasonal strawberry waffles are really good, love the strawberry cheesecake waffle for dessert!!!! So gooooooood, omg. Speaking of strawberry: strawberry lemonade! Amazingly refreshing, I was downing my drink so quickly. Thirst definitely quenched with it. Customer service was wonderful here! I wish I got the name of the guy that helped me and my friend out because he was seriously one of the nicest person ever, super friendly and helpful. I like that they put all the condiments out for you to take, as much as you want/need. The batter isn't sweet, so it doesn't overwhelm the flavor of the savory "sandwiches." Don't be discouraged by the long lines or lack of seating, because this place is a WELL-OILED machine! I did it again. I let my imagination run wild and it left me disappointed and dissatisfied. When I closed my eyes and bit into a Bruxie's sandwich, I imagined that it would be a delicious blend of sweet crispy waffle with savory salmon and fresh cucumber. The cute interior design of the open restaurant seemed promising. Friendly staff gave high hopes. I peeped into the kitchen and saw that it was very clean and new. I was so eggwafflecited. Well, the salmon was there but the waffle was disappointing. For a restaurant that has "the BOLD FOLD" up on the wall, the waffle was not very bold and slightly greasy. I think a waffle sandwich is a bold concept but the waffles were not up to par, regardless of how good the other ingredients are. I tested this when I tried the creme brûlée waffle sandwich. When I closed my eyes and bit into the waffle portion alone, it tasted like a piece of fried white bread. The creme brûlée filling and crusted sugar was delicious though. San Francisco has spoiled me and turned me into a snob. Sorry Bruxie. I'm not a foodie but who does not enjoy a good meal at an affordable price? I'm not one to right reviews either but after this evening's experience I'm compelled to comment. The buttermilk fried chicken salad was excellent. For $10.95 I received a pleasant portion that was well balanced, with fried chicken, applewood smoked bacon, fresh avocado, egg and tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and ranch dressing. Service: very friendly and approachable. The line was very short when I came last Sunday around 7pm. They were quick and attentive to our questions and recommendations. Food: My friend and I got 3 sandwiches, two savory and one sweet. 1. Fried Chicken: I had this before at the Orange location and it was good, nothing too mindblowing but still good. If you prefer salty chicken this was not very salty at all because of the sweet honey sauce. The waffle was light and crunchy. -We also ordered Irish Nachos, and it tasted very similar to Potatoes Gorgonzola Fries from Palominos in Westwood. except more expensive for a couple of bacon bits. It was ok, but the fries were not very hot for some reason so that took away from the dish i suppose. I think regular waffle fries would be more than enough to balance this meal. 2. Short Rib sandwich: was not the best because it was very oily on the bottom half of the sandwich. Same waffle used for all the sandwiches, this combination of beef, blue cheese, and two waffle fries in the middle was my least favorite. The meat was not as flavorful as I would have liked but the barbeque-like sauce helped a bit. Overall the oiliness of the sandwich (not to mention some chunks of fat in the meat) made me unable to finish the sandwich. -1 star because of this sandwich. 3. Lemon Cream and Berries: oh. my. This location is bigger than the original location in Downtown Orange with a trendy, hipster feel. Although the line seemed long, it went by really fast and we found ourselves in the front placing our order in no time at all. We got two dessert waffles to share between 3 girls - the Creme Brulee waffle and another special that they were doing for Valentine's Day... I think it was called the Love Waffle or something (basically, nutella, whipped cream, and strawberries). My favorite waffles to date for the savory are the fried chicken and the smoked salmon one. For sweet, it's the creme brulee one hands down! The waffles are always perfectly cooked, with light crispy edges that hold up the ingredients well. Who woulda ever thunk that waffles make a great sub for bread?? I've always wanted to try Bruxie, but I'm never in the area and didn't want to make the drive. However, I came out here to have lunch with some friends, and I was very excited. The place itself is very open and airy, which is nice, and it's open seating. You order, and then they bring you your food. Food- Proscuitto and gruyere- probably the lightest of the sandwiches you could get. I liked the flavors, as I'm a big euro food snob, and the mustard was a great touch. The waffle is also light and crunchy. Green eggs and ham- this one had a punch of flavor but it was also very oily from the pesto. My friend liked it, but she wasn't a fan of the oil Burger- I had a bite of this and it was also pretty good. A burger inside a waffle? Kinda genius. Nachos- their fries with cheese, sour cream, bacon, and other goodness on top. Delish. I like the environment of the place, and the food was solid. I like this location a lot better than the original Bruxie in Orange. Since it's located right on Birch St. in the heart of downtown Brea, you get a nice view of the other quaint stores in the area; plus, it's fun to people watch. :) The restaurant space is also very casual and super open, so you get to enjoy a nice breeze in the beautiful summertime. I personally love the chicken and waffles combo the best - how can you ever go wrong with sweet and savory? The flavor combination is awesome, especially because they also use a slightly spicy, but mostly tangy Asian pickled cabbage inside the sandwich. It's pretty good, but I don't really like the fact that it's super messy. Nonetheless, they have forks available at the self-serve condiment area, so it's all good. Not a fan of the fact that they charge $1 for a tiny bottle of maple syrup, but I figured out that it's not really necessary - the sandwich already has a sweet enough kick to it on its own and has a bit of syrup inside already. THE FOOD! my friends and i decided to share the prosciutto & Gruyere, the smoked salmon and dill cream cheese, and green eggs and ham along with the creme brulee dessert waffle :-) all 4 were sooooo delicious! the best thing is that one would think that these sandwiches would be heavy due to the waffles BUT the waffles are incredibly light and balances really well with all the ingredients in the sandwiches. the only thing that i would say is a little difficult about this place is the seating. there are a lot of tables BUT this place is so bz at times that there are times where there are no places to sit. my friends and i got there early enough to get seats outside but we saw that when it got bz, that there were people walking around just looking for a place to sit down. so key to this place: get here early before the lunch and dinner rush! read more

But I was finally convinced to try this place since my friend RAVES about it and says it's the shizzznitsss. So I decided to give it a try! Came to this location because it's closer. I hear the Irvine location is better though but here's my 2cents on Bruxie: DEEEEELISH. My friend and I had a plan to eat a light dinner, then eat some dessert, then eat some more, and then finish off with more dessert. At the end of the night, we pretty much regretted doing so but the food was so worth it. But don't binge eat like it's no big deal! So my friend & I decided to order two savory waffles to share. Prosciutto & Gruyere. Words cannot describe how delicious this masterpiece was. I love cheeeese and the prosciutto complemented so well with that cheese. It wasn't too salty and the cheese wasn't too strong. Excelleeeeente! Smoked Salmon & Dill Cream Cheese. It also came with thin slices of cold cucumber. I thought the cucumber flavor was kind of strong but other than that, the salmon and herb cream cheese was yummy. Their Old Fashioned 'Pure Cane Sugar' Vanilla Cream Soda was the BOMB.com. It tasted like cotton candy. I couldn't get enough of it! I'm sad we threw away the cup 'cause refills are $1 and we came back to eat two more waffles a little later on the same night. If only we had known we'd come back for more.... When we did come back, we had ordered two more things to share. Yes, fatty alert. Bacon, Egg & Cheddar. Breakfast waffle at 9PM at night? Why not? My friend recommended it. In fact he recommended this one as well as the Prosciutto & Gruyere. I chose the other two :P But this one was yummy! It got a lot of hype but I didn't pay much attention because obviously if you put anything in a waffle, it'll taste good. this location is closer to home so i was sooooo happy when my friends told me it was opening. ive been meaning to go sooner, but i just got so caught up with midterms and stuffs... i went with two friends and i was excited to see that there were short lines and more seating at this location. however the seating is disorganized and you really gotta fight for it, so that's a bit of a turn off. one lady just straight up STOLE our seats... anyyywaayss... i forgot what my friend ordered. but i shared a buttermilk fried chicken waffle with my friend and i was told ahead of time by a friend not to extra syrup because they put more in here than their orange location. i think i would have to agree. it's a bit too much to begin with, and that makes it get soft a bit faster... my MAIN problem is that our friend who ordered after us got his order before us. and all of the people who stood in line behind us got their food first. this one girl ordered the same thing as us and she got it as soon as she ordered. . . so that was annnoying... our friend waited for us to eat so his waffle wasnt as fresh when he ate it... and obviously, we had to wait even more -_- nevertheless it was still DELICIOUS!! we went to yardhouse to meet up with two other friends and for some drinks... after drinks, we came back to bruxies for dessert. well i came back for dessert. our friend took my advice and got the buttermilk friend chicken waffle also :) he enjoyed it. and i got the creme brulee waffle to share with everyone. it was SO DELICIOUS ;) it even had fresh cut strawberries in it!!! definitely coming back for this!! Saturday was a nice, relaxing, fun day for me. Slept in. Went for Dim Sum lunch in Rowland Heights. Fired off some rounds at the OC Indoor Shooting Range. Then ended up in Brea for dinner at Bruxie. I had already been to the Orange location - thought it was OK, nothing spectacular, just OK. I feel the same way about the Brea location. It's OK. Parking is much better as there's a few parking garages. There's some indoor/outdoor seating though the indoor isn't quite enclosed, it's just better covered. Service is just as friendly and efficient - especially considering how busy the place tends to get. However, the food, for me, was just OK. This time, I opted for some Irish Nachos and a Prosciutto and Gruyere. I think I would have enjoyed the Nachos if there were in fact, Nachos. They're waffle fries. The accompanying bacon bits were nice but as for the rest of it, it's definitely missing that spicy kick. I guess I ordered it expecting something else. As for the waffle sandwich, if you like prosciutto and Gruyere, you'll like this off their menu item. I guess I'm just not a big fan of waffle sandwiches because though I did like the meat and cheese, I'm guessing I would have enjoyed it more if it were on some type of bread, instead. I'm a huge fan of the Bruxie in Orange. My only gripe there is the seating is terrible. Last week my BF and I decided to check out the new Bruxie in Brea. I like this location way better. The service is just as good, but their menu is bigger and there is a lot more seating. Granted, majority of it is still outside, but at least you can find a table at this location. On this visit I tried the Turkey Club (not offered at Orange) and my BF had the Bruxie Burger. The Turkey Club was huge and very filling. Depending on what I have ordered before at Bruxie, sometimes I am still hungry. Not with the Turkey Club though! It is packed with Boar's Head turkey, cheese, avocado, bacon and pesto. I could barely finish it. Loved it! The Bruxie Burger was good, but I preferred my Turkey Club over it. Next time we are craving Bruxie we will definitely visit the Brea location! read more

This was not a disappointment! I went there when it was kinda cold outside and the inside was filled with people but there was some seating on the patio and they had heaters blowing to keep you warm. I appreciated that! Bruxie is a place where they are putting a twist on the everyday sandwich. Instead of using regular sandwich bread, Bruxie is using freshly made belgian waffles! The average price for one is $6-8. I had been waiting to try this place so we ordered a few different kind to really get a taste of what Bruxie was all about. Plus I didn't know when I would make it back for another vacation! Here's what I ordered and what I thought: Creme Brulee - This was a delicious treat. It was on the sweeter side and everything complimented each other perfectly. This wasn't as filled with stuff like the other two I ordered so it isn't as filling but for sure worth every penny. It was priced at $5.95 and it was the special of the day so I don't know if that is the regular price for it all of the time. Turkey Club - This had turkey, gruyere, avocado, applewood smoked bacon, tomatoes, lettuce & some sort of pesto sauce or spread. This was very tasty and filling. The avocado was sliced fresh and tasted so good. The cost was $7.95 for this. Hot Pastrami Bruxie - This was the best of them all. It had pastrami, gruyere, slaw (we left that off), spicy mustard & pickles. Packed with flavor and simply delish. I found the $7.95 price tag affordable. This is a must try place for sure! There is two parking structures in the shopping center Bruxie is at but if you can nab a street spot that works too. Just be aware they there are parking limitations everywhere so keep an eye of where you are parking and if you are legit. Such a cool new and trendy place. Who knew a place dedicated to all sorts of waffle dishes would be so popular! From the simple but comfortable interior to the friendly staff, I felt right at home as soon as we walked through the door. Bruxie is awesome and this location is way better than orange because there is indoor seating and ample free parking. Most of my visits have occurred on weekends around brunch time, and it's usually been pretty packed. Seating can be pretty difficult at times because of it being so crowded. The fried chicken sandwich is really tasty. The texture on this waffle was phenomenal. Absolutely no complaints here. I wish I had gotten the extra side of maple syrup because I would have loved a little more, but being the rookie I was, I wasn't in the know. However the pairing of sweet and savory was perfect. Chicken was crispy and spiced just right. So sweet or savory really depends on the dish you get with the waffle providing a delicious crunch tray. :) TIP: They also have shakes and delicious beverages, but I reeeally wouldn't recommend getting a heavy waffle dish + a shake. I did that my first time and it was WAY too much for me to handle. My boyfriend and I left Bruxie almost sick to our stomachs because it was just too much for us to handle. The staff are a little TOO helpful at this location. We have been asked "How's everything going?" from employees nearly every single minute we have been there. I'm sure the employees are trained to check up on the customers frequently, but they do it so often that it's really too much and ends up being pretty annoying. Just let us eat in peace! Finally tried this place and was worth the wait! The location is perfect, outside sitting is awesome view of birch street. Went with a group of 15 and we all got sitting outside. Customer service was on point, lots of selection, food came out promptly and looked just as good as it tastes. Taste fresh and definitely recommend the fresh pink lemonade, super yum! And yes free refills just ask! Also if u want ketchup they can bring that out to you no problem! The staff was always cleaning up tables when people were done which is a plus, hate when people leave their food and it just sits there forever. Price is a little high but worth it. Fries were bomb! W-H-O-A. WHOA. I've been wanting to try Bruxie for the longest time, and that one exists in Brea is all the more reason to finally go. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! THE FOOD From what I hear, this location has a bigger menu than the original location in Orange. Both the savory and sweet sections offer a wide range of flavors. Make no mistake, they're more than just waffle sandwiches and drinks. You can also get cane sugar sodas, shakes, fries, salads, and frozen treats. I ordered the Smoked Salmon & Dill Cream Cheese while my boyfriend ordered the Carolina Pulled Pork (the special) and Irish Nachos. The total came out to be $24, which is steep. That's what hype does to a restaurant, I guess. My sandwich is the cleanest tasting sandwich I have ever tasted. The smoked salmon was sliced thinly and tasted the lightest out of any smoked salmons I've ever had. I also loved how the cream cheese didn't overpower the salmon flavor. Though I don't usually like cucumber, I really enjoyed their presence here. As for the waffle, it was crispy and remained so to the end. I didn't care for the Carolina Pulled Pork. My boyfriend and I thought the meat wasn't dark enough. The barbecue sauce that came with the sandwich was all right; a tad too tangy for my taste. The Irish Fries, you guys, is AH-MAZE. Get them for your group to share when you go. The potatoes were fried to perfection, the sour cream, bacon, and cheese sauce created a wonderful combination. Some of the best fries I've had in a while. So I know the Creme Brulee is another fan favorite, and I had half of it 'cause my friend couldn't finish. UM, I TOTALLY know why it's so popular. The sweetness wasn't overwhelming. Although I was thrown off by the sweet strawberries at first, the creme brulee flavor did come through wonderfully. THE ATMOSPHERE Crowded. There was a line when we went, but thankfully the line moved quickly. It's a very lively place, with outside and inside eating areas. Word to the wise: stake out the tables you want once you get there. If there are people already at your table, stand near the table so that once they leave, you get your table. It's a strategy, y'all. Use it. Also, be prepared to share bigger tables with strangers. THE SERVICE Very friendly people. When I first got in line, they had a server greet me and hand me the menu. The other employees were nice to us, didn't check on us too often, and removed our empty trays promptly. The chefs also came out and chatted with some people. THE FINAL GRADE A // The only low note in the Bruxie visit is the Carolina Pulled Pork. I say this is more of a 4.5-star restaurant because of the difficulty in finding seats and the crowd. I like this location better than the one in Orange because its bigger. Otherwise, the food tastes the same to me! This place is DELICIOUS! Who would have thought that light and crispy waffles would be so yummy in a sandwich form? My favorite is the pastrami waffle sandwich. You have to eat it quick though because its VERY greasy and if you're not quick enough, your waffle will soak up the oil and it gets a bit soggy and it won't be crispy anymore. The pastrami one is definitely on the heavier side... so be prepared to not eat much after that. I've also had the honey deep-fried chicken sandwich and it was interesting at first. It was sort of weird to actually taste the honey, chicken, and waffle all at the same time. For some reason, it was addicting very soon after. Honey has a very distinct taste/scent and it lingers in your mouth for a while after the first bite. Well, it is my second favorite =)! I've had both, the banana and strawberry dessert waffles here and sadly, I didn't think it was very good. It was not hot like I was expecting (for some strange reason I had that kind of an expectation). I just thought that nutella and fruit in a hot fresh-made waffle would just be perfect! But no... it was just sort of room temperature and it didn't taste or seem very special to me. After ordering both of dessert once to try, I never ordered them again. Perhaps other fellow Yelper's don't feel the same but, I really didn't like the dessert that much. It's not an expensive place and worth trying at least once!
