I've seen a lot of reviews for the Bruxie burgers. While they are delicious, the best thing on the menu is actually their dessert waffles! Their dessert waffle is made out of a sweet waffle (sprinkled with powdered sugar,) creme brûlée, custard, and fresh fruit. They usually go off of whatever fruit is in season. I ordered my food for pick up and when I got there, the order was wrong. I paid for the item that they forgot, and the girl told me I needed to wait at the table. 23 minutes is how long it took for them to give me my to go order. I have people hungry, waiting at home. I literally watched people get their food and finish eating a whole meal before I finally got my missing item. Richard's lame excuse was that they had already called my name. You got my order wrong! Bruxie is a solid chicken joint. There chicken is always cooked extremely well and never dry. I've tried a few things on the menu and the salad is surprisingly one of my favorites. I also love the strawberry lemonade. It's awesome and pairs really well with the crispy chicken. Service is always consistently good, and the workers are an absolute delight. I used to not like this place that much. My wife was much more of a fan than I was. I always thought the food was difficult to eat and most of the selection was unsubstantial with not a lot of meat choices. Nowadays, however; the selection for foodies abounds with the BAMF sandwich and other massive sandwiches that will satisfy any sized appetite. My personal favorite that is always on the menu is the Crispy Chicken waffle sandwich paired with some spiced tater tots and some lemonade. Yum. My wife is a big fan of their dessert too. Make sure to give those a try. The service is average. I've never been incredibly impressed with it. I once ordered take-out with my sister and had a feeling that the bag sitting near the heat lamps was my order but I didn't want to insist (in case it wasn't.) That bag must have been sitting there for 10-15 minutes before some went by and checked on it and it turned out it was mine. Their yelp take-out experience is superb though. Love me some chicken and waffles, what a great mix of food! I tried this place about a year ago when my parents went. We were not able to make it here so they took it to go and sent it on my way. When I tried it then I remembered it being so good. Everything was so delicous with the crispy chicken and the waffle smothered in syrup, mmmmmmmm! So the other day we were finally in the area and was able to pay a visit. The place inside is somewhat small as far as seating goes. They don't have a lot of options inside to sit, but they do have outside seating which is nicely set up. We ordered again the classic chicken and waffles because it was so good last time. Although there were many other options I would love to try as well. We got a little buzzer and shortly later our food was delivered to our table. I love how it looked like a taco they way they sat the chicken and waffle together. After doing my favorite part of filling it up with syrup I dug in. I'm so torn because the first time I tried Bruxie, I would've given them five stars, but it's gone downhill pretty much every time and tonight only solidified that. I've solely ordered delivery until I placed my first in-store to-go order tonight. I live and work within about 1.5-2 miles, so I'm pretty close by. My coworkers have turned me onto their kickin' chicken tenders which I've come to crave. I've never gone in-store as I hate the hassle of downtown Brea (especially on a Saturday night) but my killer craving for that kickin' chicken motivated me to finally come in store. I placed my to-go order, and waited until it was brought to me. The employees were cheerful and friendly. I've had issues with cold fries from this location before, so I tried a French fry as soon as I got to my car in the parking garage, and it was only lukewarm then so I knew there was no way I'd make it home and enjoy warm fries. When they package their to-go orders, including for delivery, the fries are left uncovered at the top of the bag with the most exposure to outside air. I've never experienced warm Bruxie fries, but I guess that just means I have to eat them in-store and opt out if I need a to-go order. It could be easily fixed by allowing containers with lids to be used for fries in delivery and to-go orders. The French fries weren't a big deal because I was stoked for my chicken... except I got home and opened it to find that I had been given the regular buttermilk chicken tenders. I hate to be a drama queen, but when you've spent all this time and effort to go satisfy a craving and you open it up to realize it's not what you've been looking forward to, it's extremely disappointing. I guess I should have checked before I left. I ordered a waffle (Nutella/banana/cream) too because I felt like treating myself. I've had their waffles before and they've been some of the best I've ever had. Perfectly crisp but not overly fried with a sweet flavor. Not this one. I'm not sure how to even describe it, it was like a hollow fried shell of a waffle that was also not the slightest bit warm. I threw most of it away because it wasn't good and the waffle was terrible. Literally nothing I had was good tonight. The fries were useless and cold, the chicken tenders were wrong, and the waffle was cold and the most overly fried, hollow waffle I've ever had in my life. This used to be one of my favorite lunch spots but I haven't been back since early 2020 until today. Ordered crispy chicken waffle sandwich, waffle fries and side of Cole slaw. Sandwich was no where near as good as I remember. The waffles were soft/soggy and not crispy. Chicken was good but much thinner and it appears they use thigh meat now instead of breast. Waffle fries were undercooked. They used to have craft sodas made with cane sugar; now it's just standard sodas. The tables used to have rolls of paper towels /napkins, Today I searched everywhere and couldn't find any napkins and had to ask the server who brought some out after a few minutes. We managed to find a table but had a very noisy family decide to sit at our table as well as soon as we started to eat. I ordered a Bruxie Burger, which was by far the worst burger I had in the entirety of 2019. The waffles were cold and hard and the choice of sauce was questionable. They lathered it up with a cheap knock off thousand island dressing. Top that bad boy off with cheddar cheese and you have yourself a disgusting pile of nonsense. The concept of a waffle being centered around the entire menu practically- genius I say! Located right in the heart of Brea, Bruxie is located right next to a variety of other great eateries. I heard so much hype about this place, as well as all the yummy Instagram pics I saw posted so I then decided to venture here and try for myself. I ordered the goat cheese and mushroom sandwich which also came loaded with greens. As for my foodie +1 date, she had the powdered waffle which had Nutella spread inside as well as thinly sliced banana pieces! I also had an order of their waffle fries, which somewhat resemble the criss cut fries they would have at Carl's Jr. Trust me, these here at Bruxie are far better! The service here was amazing and prompt. The prices here are very affordable as well. There is plenty of indoor seating, as well as outdoor. Parking is located on the side of the movie theater, which shouldn't make for a far walk. It is free parking so yay there! The waffle concept here was just too delicious to pass up. Since they are located in downtown Brea, you will find yourself surrounded by other places to try, such as Taps steakhouse, Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor. Octopus and such. BRUXIE. The Bold Fold? What does that mean? I have no clue. But, what I do know is that they have a new take on the sandwich and it's not the $10 price tag either. Using the Belgian waffle as the bread, it's light, airy, crispy, yeasty, and not sweet. Paired with quality seasonal ingredients and offered both as savory or sweet - it's awesome for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert. You choose. This Brea location is a great example to this radical new concept. Busy as always, sometimes the venue simply isn't big enough to handle the demand. With seating out on the patio and limited tables inside, getting your order TO GO for lunch might be a safe idea. When I dine IN, I always wear my sunglasses, cause the sun shines really bright here for some strange reason. Although, the Belgian Waffle doesn't really exist in Belgium, BRUXIE sure has no issues making a variety of different creations. During today's visit, I had the Braised Beef and the Tuna Melt. Both were hearty and flavorful. But, I would actually prefer the Tuna Melt though, as the Braised Beef had mediocre meat quality and was too salty. Sriracha sauce and mustard are two condiments that pair really well with these hoagies. But, we all know the hot sauce controversy surrounding Sriracha these days. It was a bit soggy from the lettuce and tomatoes so the middle of my waffle wasn't crunchy. The best of the 3..... The Irish Nachos. I'm still not certain why these are called nachos.. but ok.... It reminded me more of a loaded baked potato on Crisp cut fires. These were good and crispy. But I am a slow either and eventually they got hard, I took a bite out of a small piece of fries and I'm like holy shit.. I'm going to break my teeth. Yeah... we ate like half of that and it went in the trash. I dont mind eating here again. My cousin thought I was a pig because she hadn't even started really eating before I devoured my waffle covered piece of meat. The combo of mayo, cheddar, lettuce and tomato played well together, causing me to inhale without chewing. I even contemplated ordering a second. I didn't, but I wished I had. Nutella and Bananas: This is a good breakfast or a good dessert option. It works either way. There is generous amount of the hazelnut stuff married with bananas to make it sweet, but not overbearing. Like I said, works for any meal- so you can be in the mood for it at anytime without feeling guilty for ordering. Bacon, Egg and Cheddar: A great way to start the day. Fluffy eggs, with crisp bacon and a glob of melted cheese. The waffle is super crispy giving it that extra crunch. I didn't ask, but it would be even better if you could order one of these bad boys with an over-easy egg. That would be divine. It's not a huge portion, so you wont feel super bloated after eating. There is a reason why this place gets crowded at peak hours, their waffle sandwiches are extremely good. I have tried the Chicken Waffle, Green Eggs and Ham and Roasted Mushroom Waffle, all of them are great but green eggs and ham is the best. Also if you like potatoes then don't forget to try their waffle fries. I have also tried the Belgian Chocolate Shake and its awesome. The shakes are extremely large in quantity. I am reducing one star only because of their poor seating. It gets too crowded at certain times and finding a place to sit can be a bit of a hassle. One simple idea has blown up in our faces and we are lining up to get this great creation! Who would of thought you could have a waffle sandwich a kid back in the day probably had that idea and was picked and bullied because of it. Now look who is laughing!! This place is located in a pretty busy area of Brea but parking is free right behind the movie theater. I came here on a weekend because yes I actually now have a job that is Monday-Friday so I found out how popular this place is on the weekends. People in line were raving about what to order, what to get and I wanted to try something out of this world different. I ordered my favorite veggie mushroom with arugula and sun dried tomatoes. BF ordered the simple ham and egg with a side of maple syrup. OMG I had a few bites of this and I wanted to order two for myself! Literally I was pounding on these waffle creations like no ones business. I would totally recommend this place to everyone I know. This place is always busy when I go, but never disappoints. My kids love it too! The Bruxie Burger is the best. Highly recommend!

Um sorry, I don't get it... This is something that belongs on a lunch truck. It's mildly overhyped, overpriced, oversimplified, and mediocre. I'm wondering if this one even compares to the Orange location (I haven't tried that one), because I don't know what all the fuss is about. Think of it this way... If you replace the waffle with bread or a bun, you know what you've got? Just a sandwich-- and not a very good one. HEY, don't give me that look... I gave it THREE chances: - Buttermilk Fried Chicken - Way too simple. Boring. Dry. Weird aftertaste. [2/5] - Salmon and Cream Cheese - Meh. It was lacking and awkward. The mushy texture of fish and cream cheese belongs on a cracker or maybe just something crunchier than a waffle... [2/5] - Braised Beef Short Rib - This one was actually really good. It was moist, tender, and tasty but halfway through it, I was already bored of it. On top of that, it's not even a regular menu item... it was seasonal. [3/5] - Irish Nachos - Not bad. Waffle fries, sour cream, cheese, and bacon. [3/5] - Canesugar Sodas (Specifically, cola and cough syr-- I mean grape) - Um.. You can actually sit down and enjoy your food. So far, my experience here has been great! The customer service is great, food comes out quickly, and the food tastes yummy! I'm not a fan of waffles in general, but I really like the unique combinations here. Items I've tried: 1.) Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Chili Honey and Cole Slaw 5/5 *highly recommend* this is such a unique combination! although the chicken is not super crispy, I loved the taste of the combination of flavors. 2.) Bruxie Cheeseburger waffles 3/5 3.) Waffle Fries 5/5 *highly recommend* these are SO DELICIOUS!! so crispy and chewy!
