Another day another poke bowl at CFG lol. It's no secret that I love these poke bowls. They're a generous portion and packed with flavor. Today we tried the calamari starter and it was amazing! I'm not a huge seafood fan, because I don't really like fishy flavor, so I tend to stay away from cooked fish/seafood. But the calamari here was sooo good!! The breading was super tasty. It came out hot and a good amount of sauce on the tuna and shrimp. I was a bit disappointed that the shrimps were not cleaned, it only takes a few seconds to do and for the price, I feel it should definitely be cleaned. It was filling, but not particularly enjoyable, and I found myself wishing for more balance and a stronger flavor profile. Service was efficient but impersonal. Orders moved quickly, and the staff was polite, though interactions felt very brief and transactional. It worked for getting food out fast, but it didn't add much to the experience. The ambience is casual and functional. It's clean and bright, clearly designed for quick meals rather than lingering. I noticed they have tartar sauce in a container so it's got a lot of preservatives. The automated system is funny but it does work it remembers your last order which is kind of cool. I got the fish and chips tonight with rice and Brussel sprouts they are caramelized and amazing! I love their cajun salmon plate as well it's amazing it's another thing I usually order. All the food here is delicious to be honest, consistently too. This is for the too good to go policy at the restaurants. I encourage it to be changed. If a customer says they have an allergy the restaurant assuming they have enough of the other sides should not be giving out the one the customer has expressed allergies. I would think if it was someone else, it would be a big way to get sued. I get that food is given out at random cause it's just whatever is extra, but assuming there is enough food and there likely is cause a lot of it gets thrown away, I think it would be better if the customers were informed of what specific sides were leftover and they could pick one of each. Portions have also gotten smaller and most of the wild caught fish is gone. I honestly think Rubio's has the better tacos. It has been a long time that I visited this restaurant so after running some errands, I went for dinner. Many things have changed I noticed and in a great way. The menus on TV screens and KIOSK looked amazing. There were also various food options than before, which made me excited. Two things that I didn't like about were no sauce station and contactless service. The bussers were the only people you interact who were great at cleaning the dishes quickly with positive attitudes. If you need more sauces, you need to go up at the front. I ordered Giant Shrimp with French Fries and Beans and Mahi Mahi with rice and corns. I got the dynamite sauce for the fish and it was bomb. Definitely getting that sauce again. The restaurant is very clean and has a modern look. You can see the staff working hard to keep up to par. I've been cooking at home because I am tired of paying for bad food, but last night, I wanted fish and chips, so we ordered from CFG. First, the fish wasn't Cod, it tasted like bland, cheap, Swai! Ugh! It seems like post-pandemic, many restaurants think they can replace good fish with bland, tasteless Swai! The tartar sauce was prepackaged and tasteless. The sweet potato fries that were a $2.99 "upgrade" and consisted of about 20 limp fries. We also had clam chowder for $7.99 a cup. It was watery and almost "clamless!" Paying more for poor quality and disgusting food seems to be the norm these days, but CFG will not get my money again. Save your money because CFG is not what it once was! I am a foodie who doesn't mind paying for a good meal, so when I say it isn't worth it, please believe me! read more

He got a poke bowl and said it was edible but not good. I got the protein bowl. Big mistake. The 2 fish choices were so fishy I could not eat them. The shrimp was fishy and soft. The chicken was okay. It was offered on rice or salad, I mistakenly got the salad. They should never have called it salad. It was warm, undressed lettuce, like plate garnish. Great food and their pickup system is awesome. Just go to their website, put in the order and you can track the progress before you pick up! Only downside is that they need to ease up on the oil, because I found myself patting the fish and fries with a paper towel because the oil was dripping. The chimichurri parmesan fries were SO good, and they would have been even better if they weren't swimming in oil. Like wow I've never been that guy to complain about oil, but it was too much. I think this was a temporary item, so I definitely recommend you get it if they have it! Just be aware, there will be oil. I also got my usual salmon and swai combo which never disappoints (except from the occasionally excessive oil) I like getting the fish seasoned and grilled, with sauce on the side. My Fav sauces are the Cajun and chimichurri. My favorite side is the rosemary zucchini. The sweet potato fries and green salad with green goddess dressing are also good. If you just want some fish n chips, their battered fish and chips never disappoints. One downside of this visit was that I paid an upcharge for chimichurri fries and they were put inside off the container with zucchini and fish so they were sooooo soggy. I had the ahi poke bowl and it was absolutely disgusting.. idk if it's just for this location or for every location but let me tell you.. 1. The rice is a cheap American grain. It's not Japanese sushi rice like it should be nor is it jasmine. The rice here is dry, hard, and not fluffy/tender at all. 2. The sauce is WAY too salty. My rice was completely drenched in soy sauce and it salt actually is burning my tongue. It's practically inedible once you get to the rice at the bottom where all the sauce settles down to. The poke is also extremely salty as well. The amount of sodium in this dish just ruins it. Please don't order this if you have high blood pressure. Again, I don't know if it's just the cook that accidentally poured too much soy sauce, or if it's intentionally this salty. But one thing I can say for sure is that this dish was inedible.
