My husband wanted to try out this taco spot and we liked the food. It's located in Brea. There's a good amount of tables and chairs for folks to dine it. There were people ordering to go as well. The side bar offered 3 different kinds of sauces. They have a big menu. We mainly came for the tacos. We ordered the following: Carnitas Asada Al pastor Lengua Chicharon We ordered a side of fries too, the seasoning was good. The fries could have been crispier. The best tacos were the lengua and al pastor. We liked that the tacos came with guacamole. The meats came pretty substantial as well. I recommend paying with cash for a discounted price. read more

It pains me to write this update review, but Don Goyo has been quite disappointing my last few visits and I probably won't be back... I couldn't place my finger on what exactly changed here, until my most recent visit. Their handmade corn tortilla, which was the main reason their tacos were so good had changed. Not sure if the masa changed, but what I noticed is that their tortilla seemed thicker and not cooked enough. They honestly tasted like raw masa dough, and was missing that roasted corn taste that I loved. Tacos are no longer enjoyable here because of this. You can even see that their taco tortilla doesn't have the dark spots you get from cooking the tortilla. I think this is an easy fix, so I hope they figure it out! read more

Usually very wary when it comes to Instagram's algorithm and its suggestions since cOnTeNt CrEaTorZ don't exactly have the general public's best interests in mind when it comes to good food, but I took the chance a couple nights ago and it turned out to be a good recommendation! Normally I'd do a burrito, but the reel I saw was all about tacos, so I let Instagram take the wheel this time. I ordered chicharron, al pastor, and a sirloin taco. Right off the bat, the sirloin taco was THE best out of all the ones I ordered. Not really a fan of sirloin steaks, but in a taco? Brilliant. Cut/chopped into the perfect size with a good blend of meat and fatty bits and pieces. Really tasty. Chicharron was surprisingly my other favorite since I never really order this, but the night I went was all about trying something new and I'm glad I did. A bit messy, but good. The al pastor was just okay which, again, is surprising since I love al pastor. Salsas were fine, nothing to wow over but still good. I had a great meal here. The meats and tortillas were all very fresh. And HOT. I just remembered as I'm typing this how hot everything was. Taco prices are definitely a bit steep, but the good news is that the taste and quality can (sorta) justify the price. Next time around I will be getting a burrito, but with sirloin instead of my usual al pastor. read more

This cashier tried to shortchange me $5 when handing me back my change. When I brought it to her attention, she gives a huge sigh, rolls her eyes and doesn't say a word. I'm literally standing there as she moves onto the next person. I patiently wait until she's done. She gives me the side eye and says, "I have to wait till someone pays in cash to open the register". Super rude and making me feel like I'm the one that messed up. I hope management becomes aware of how much of a problem this employee is. This wasn't her first time trying shortchange a customer. She's just mad that she got caught... read more

This was a very unexpected find indeed . I have to drive by Central Ave every day. I ordered a Torta and agua fresca de horchata and it was PHENOMENAL. The quality of the ingredients it top notch and the service was fantastic. I love how they have a little salsa bar where u can serve ur own salsa. They had 2 options that day I believe and also a pickled onion which enhances the flavor of any dish. Ive only been here during late afternoon / early dinner rush so im not sure if its busier later on, but during the time I was there it was pretty packed. The place has very nice mexican decor and the staff was really helpful. 10/10 recommend. read more

pre Father's Day lunch yesterday and my hubby wanted tacos. I hadn't had don goyo in quite some time, and I forget how good it is. I ordered asada tacos, with a side of rice and beans to share. The tacos were delicious, jam packed with meat and super flavorful. It was the first time I'd tried the rice and beans here, and they did not disappoint. Delicious and a generous portion, enough for at least 3 servings. The lady at the register was very friendly, and I got my order within about 10 minutes or so. I did a to go order, but the inside is spacious and clean., with plenty of parking. read more

Holy Sh@!$ this place is legit! I knew once I walked in and saw the trompos full and spinning, my heart just knew this spot was going to be so good, and man was I right! Everything from the quality of the meat, to the fresh corn tortillas, warm crisp tortilla chips, fresh guacamole and salsas! You need to come here. I got the pastor and asada tacos, and wow, just get them! You won't regret it. Super friendly staff, my new spot in OC for tacos and burritos. Me: the best carne asada I've had as an LA native My husband: the best tortilla he's had at any taqueria This place is doing it right and to believe they're in Brea! The carne asada was so flavorful and rich. I went with the nacho cheese on my fries based on other Yelp reviews and I'd say it was the right choice. The tortilla is also S tier. They're the perfect thickness and the tacos are the perfect size. The red and green salsas were both good. They have a self serve salsa bar with pickled onions and some lime as well. I think a little more onion and cilantro on the fries and tacos would've been great, but now we know to ask next time. Would recommend bringing cash to save some extra cents per item! Casual, indoor seating available with high chairs. Shared parking in lot with other businesses. Our new favorite local taco spot! read more

Place was clean and functional, decor on the walls and signage. Very much spot to grab good food, family friendly, date night, come solo, and get it to go spot. Food was really good! Fresh and hearty portions. The chicharron taco with its soft fatty skin in the green mild salsa was tasty. Tortilla held everything together! The Al pastor was Smokey and sweet top with a sliver of pineapple. Meats were moist and can taste each of its flavors on its own even with multiple meats consumed. Really good food for a rainy day. Certainly will return to try more and eat more! read more

A friend recommended to try this for lunch. The place wasn't fancy packed when we got in line to order. In the kitchen I saw two tower of meat being grilled (al pastor and top sirloin). The staff busy prepping the food as the customers waited for their order. We had to scour for a table to eat. The lunch rush did mean we had to do some self service in cleaning the tables. Ordered 4 tacos (top sirloin, carnitas, buche, and lengua) and the Goyo fries with asada and al pastor. The tacos were served with guacamole and lots of meat on fresh tortilla. The fries were piled on with lots of meat guacamole and cheese. I left super stuffed. Cool place to try. read more

Went there for lunch today around 1:30 PM with my wife. There were about eight people ahead of us when we arrived, but plenty of seating available. Ordered asada tacos, tripa tacos, and the Goyo nachos with asada. Both the asada and tripa tacos had great flavor, and the handmade tortillas were a nice touch. The salsa was on point too. The nachos, however, weren't to my liking -- the cheese was a bit overwhelming and too salty. Overall, I'd definitely come back to try the other tacos on the menu. read more

They have a great variety of meats and drinks. It is a hit and miss for me. Some days it's delicious and other days it's not seasoned right. I frankly do not like the tortillas. It overpowers the meat flavors. I tried their agua de piña and it had a lot of the pineapples thorns in it. Not very pleasant to drink it having to spit them out with every sip. The service is wonderful tho. Always friendly and fast. read more

Bring cash wi the you they charge extra for each time if you cards or Apple Pay. The al pastor was yummy, I asked for extra Pineapple. The carne asada was taco was loaded with meat. Homemade tortillas made them even better. The mulitas was good but we took it home so I think it would have been better if you eat it there. The burrito was good but it got so soggy when. We got home. They have a variety of salsa but there weren't as tasty as I had another olives but it was still a good taco. Oh the tostadas is the same size as the tacos just a fried shell. read more

The tacos here are really tasty and worth the higher price tag. These are probably the best in the area. But I do recommend this place if you are craving good tacos. read more

First time here and everything tasted really good. Nachos was my favorite, it has that good cheese sauce and chips that doesn't get soggy. The tacos are filled with generous portions of protein and made with handmade tortillas. We ordered sirloin (35¢ upcharge), asada, tripa, pastor, and chicharron. The tacos were all good, but the sirloin was my favorite, followed by the chicharron. They're served with cilantro, onions, and guacamole unless you ask them to omit these toppings. The self-serve salsa bar offers three different salsas: red, green, and habanero. The habanero was the best and really enhanced the flavor of the meats. Refrigerated soft drinks and aguas frescas are available for purchase. No booze here. There is also refreshing, ice-cold cucumber water on the counter, which is complimentary. It's a smaller taco shop with older, uncomfortable, sticky tables, so we ate quickly and left. The music was so loud that I could barely hear the cashier. Overall, we enjoyed the tacos, however, the meats were overcooked and a tad dry (with the exceptions being the chicharron and tripa). I would return if I ever found myself in the area. read more

Quick service and friendly staff. The asada mulita and green salsa are the way to go! I loved the grilled onions (extra charge, but worth it). Rating it a bit lower because they charge more per item if you pay with a card instead of cash, which felt unfair. Also, seating is very limited, so don't count on finding a table during busy hours. The ambience is very chill. People just go and eat. read more

We tried Tacos Don Goyo for the first time on Friday and was pretty happy with our food! I had the carne asada fries, which was loaded to the brim. Tons of the flavor coming from the sour cream and guacamole. If you order their chips, they also fry them fresh and hot. Pretty low key spot tucked in a small plaza. My tip if you are getting the fries is to go for the nacho cheese rather than the white cheese. Also don't sleep on the orange and red salsas at the salsa bar, they both have a nice spice. And the best part about getting the fries is you can air fry any leftovers! read more

This is our favorite place to get burritos and carne asada fries from. They put things together once you order. They can modify and make things for your preference. There's plenty of meat options but they do offer vegetarian. Side of onions and jalapeños is a must. Prices are affordable and portions are massive. One burrito alone makes us full to the brim if I eat it in one go. There is a salsa bar with three salsas as well as limes and cucumber/radish, they have sauce containers and little baggies so you can take as much as you desire. Personally love their salsa verde the most, it is medium style. They get busy fast and there's a reason, very nice staff as well. read more

Just happen to be in the area from Long Beach and wanted to try some food while here. We looked up and decided on this place. I ordered 2 asada tacos and 1 tripa as the cashier told me it was made crispy. In fact the tripa is crispy and probably better tasting than the asada. However my 2 asada tacos came out and the meat was cabesa. Luckily I know the difference because if someone didn't know they would've just ate it. These kind of mistakes shouldn't happen!!! There are taco places you tell your friends about, and there are places you tell your best friends about in confidence. This taco place is one you tell only your best friends about, because you don't want everybody to know how good it is and you will want to keep it all for yourself. This review is my attempt to rectify this impulse. Consistent, delicious, and a good value. Those handmade tortillas are addicting and crave worthy. Service is fast and friendly. Came here for a late night snack so got 1 taco which brought my appetite back up surprisingly. Honestly a great taco place in North OC. For the price, the portion sizes are good. Asada tacos had just the right amount of char and al pastor was also pretty solid. I do love that all the tacos already come with the guacamole added. It's a little loud with the music so it may not be easy to talk if you do have a larger group. Soo happy to find a delicious local and authentic place for tacos! I was curious about what all the reviews were talking about when they mentioned the quality of the meat, and I have to 100% agree. The expectations were low for authentic tacos in Brea, but WOW these tacos have me feeling like I don't need to go to San Diego for Tacos El Gordo anymore! All of the tacos are loaded with guacamole, lots of meat, as well as cilantro and onion, and they are absolutely worth it. Their salsas are so flavorful, I really enjoyed the salsa verde especially you can see the grilled peppers in the sauce. 5/5 - Asada tacos, the char they get on the carne asada is crazy. This was my favorite, a perfect bite every time! 5/5 - Buche tacos, I LOVE how they made their buche crispy and this was definitely my second favorite meat. 5/5 - Asada Mulita, again can't go wrong with asada and sooo much cheese and meat in each one! 4/5 - Lengua tacos, this was honestly a 5/5 compared to lengua tacos elsewhere, but in comparison to their buche and asada it is not as good. But still very tender and flavorful! read more

When we first got here, the line was out the door and stayed that way the entire time we ate. We were lucky we got a table, because it's super packed in here and it's a small little spot.
