I haven't been to Bruxie in years and I recently started working in Brea, so decided to give it a try during lunch. Mind you I have a semi-short lunch time, so I ordered online ahead of time and requested for it to be ready for pick up at 11:45am. After a few minutes, I received an email notification that the restaurant had not approved my order yet and it's been after 5 minutes and it recommends that I call in to make sure. So I do as the email says and call in, and after giving my name and order # , the first guy doesn't know how to help and transfers me to another person, and she asks me what service provider did I order through (UberEats, Postmates, etc) and I replied that I ordered directly through Bruxie website. This time the girl says that it's saying that message to me because I requested for a future time pick up so the order has not "gone through yet", which does not sound like a valid response to me because I've never had this incident anywhere else. So whatever I just move along and head out to pick up my food. Let me repeat again, my order should have been ready for pick up at 11:45, but I don't even arrive until 12, only to find out that I have to wait another 7mins for my order to be made? I'm sitting in front waiting for my order as I'm writing this review, It's now 27mins past since my order should have been done. After my food finally arrived, the girl did offer me a free drink for my wait, which is nice, thank you for that, but in the future, I'd like my food on time. It would've been nice to eat my food with the downtown Brea view, but unfortunately now I have to go back to work and eat while I work. Extremely disappointed with the service here. Good experience and nice location. I ordered three chicken tinders with slaw and fries, the bacon, egg, and cheddar, tater tots, and a strawberry shake. The food was ready within 20-25 min and was really good to me. The chicken tenders were really crisp and that bbq sauce was really delicious! The tater tots and fries added and extra crunch and the bacon, egg, and cheddar was okay. I would definitely go back and would highly recommend. read more

Duuude, you have to be kidding me! Must visit, you will return! Excellent price, quality, and quantity! I recommend the holy chicken for 8.50 and the creme brulee dessert waffle for 6.50, worth every penny, and even just the holy chicken alone will be enough to fill a hungry guy! So that hits price and quantity. Quality is great. The waffle is crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, but thin enough such that you aren't just eating bread. Flavors work really well together, sriracha is not overwhelming, and only slightly spicy. Chicken was tender and not dry. Only small comment is that they could consider trying different cheeses in the holy chicken...maybe something that melts at a lower temperature, as the cheddar ends up solidifying by the time you get to it and I like cheese slightly melted. Love this place! The service was really quick, within 2-3 mins after we were seated, we had our food. The waffle was really good and the chicken that I had wasn't dry at all. The chicken may need a little more flavor but overall, my chicken and waffle sandwich was awesome and I will definitely be coming back to try other sandwiches! Oh, Bruxies. Waffles and meat, WHAT?! I was VERY skeptical of this place. Why would you mix waffles with meat and other non-sweet food items?! It just can't be. BUT I tried it and I was blown away. But that's just Bruxie's in general. ...SERIOUSLY? Why did this not come about before? I went to the Bruxie's in Orange first and then came here. This place is a lot bigger in space and more parking space too. It's in an area where there's lots of other restaurants and shopping area so it can get crowded. The food was similar to the one in Orange, but I think the creme brulee was better here. The service kind of sucked... well, maybe just the cashier. We went at a time when there weren't many people, but it doesn't give an excuse to why the server was using his iPhone when taking our order. RUDE!!!! Plus, it was slow so there were random workers every where doing nothing but talking. There were probably too many people at that shift time.... One thing I'm not crazy about is the price. It's so darn pricey. I'm a starving college student for crying out loud- I can't afford $6-8 on waffle sandwiches that I can finish within 5 minutes. Came here to try the famous waffles and thought the food was just ok. The chicken and waffles sandwich ($6.95) was not bad but not particularly special either. The waffle was light and crispy. The chicken is a piece of boneless chicken that looked like it had spices on it but it tasted kind of plain. We also tried the leicht waffle ($3.95). It is thicker and sweeter - they make it sweeter by placing clumps of white sugar in the waffle. It made it sweeter but in a rather nasty way. It may look like it but tastes nothing like the yummy waffles you can get in Europe. We also tried the black cherry pure cane sugar soda ($2.50) it tastes like cough syrup. This place is an open stand but is new and clean. There is a large parking structure nearby with free parking. They use the food baskets to cram down the trash. Kind of nasty - i really hope they clean the baskets before serving food on them again...??! The chicken and waffles gets about 3 stars but everything else gets 2 stars. read more

A very good place to go to when you want to grab something quick to eat. My favorite is the Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Waffle. I love the chili honey sauce and the cider slaw really goes well with it. When ordering they recommend you get the extra maple syrup on the side but I think there's no need. The sandwich itself is pretty sweet to begin with and I think the maple syrup is overkill. read more

I'd have to say that it's not much to look at, but it's absolutely delicious! The waffles can't compare to that of Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, but they were still light, airy, and slightly crispy on the outer layer, which I really liked. March 15, 2014 Saturday evening, after my hike with my sister at Monrovia Canyon, my awesome boyfriend asked me if I wanted to go to Bruxie. Finally! He asked me about a place I have been wanting to try out for over a year. So, we drove to Brea, hung out and got to have Bruxie! We ordered a drink, ordered each a sandwich and such. I got the Creme Brulee and my boyfriend ordered the Chicken Sandwich one with waffle fries. What was awesome was that the guy who brought us our food out, gave me the wrong order. Luckily I didn't touch it, but he says that it's their policy to trash the food, even if the customer hasn't touched it, so he told us keep it. So, we got [basically] free Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich. The waffles were so soft and crunchy. Soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. I really enjoyed the waffle fries, too.The waffle fries tasted just like the waffle fries from Chick-fil-A. Give the place a try and i'm sure you'll enjoy it. My friends and I don't typically eat at the same restaurant twice on vacation but we broke that rule after eating at Bruxie two days earlier. We were feening the Creme Brulee Waffle! This location was just as good as the Orange location. The only con I would have is - if you sit outside on a hot day, be ready to be misted on. I had to cover our dessert waffle while we ate the savory one to keep it from getting misty soggy. The Green Eggs and Ham Waffle as well as the Seasonal Caprese Waffle were absolutely divine! They use arugula instead of basil, which i'm ok with. I love everything and anything arugula. Super plus for that! So far everything we've had at Bruxie is delicious. I've been to this location a handful of times and the one in Orange a few times. This is the newer location of the two. It's a lot more spacious and ample FREE parking in a parking garage since it is located in downtown Brea. The lines have never been insanely long as the one in Orange and I can usually find a spot to sit and eat fairly easily. The food-- +The Club - I love this savory sandwich! Giant pile of turkey with avocado, lettuce, and tomato on a thin waffle. I'm usually pretty full off half and if you tell them to cut it in half for you when you order it, it saves you the trouble later. +Irish Nachos - pretty good. Sometimes they skimp out on the toppings which suck because they would otherwise be pretty epic. I think this is going to be my last time here and last update for this place. Super disappointed in what I ordered today and am not pleased whatsoever. Came here with my cousins who were in town. This was in between my cousins in Anahiem and I think the other was in Monterey Park. It's outdoor seating while the weather is nice out and great for kids. Upon arriving...my kids in particular don't eat waffles or anything that bruxies has to offer. The only thing close by thats super americanized enough for them to eat was panda. So I stopped by and grabbed them some noodles so they wouldn't just watch us eat and starve. My husband ordered the burger while I ordered the pastrami. Not exactly sure what my cousins ordered but when the waffles came out..it actually looked a lot less then it use to. I swear my sandwiched looked more stuffed before then how it did today. Also when ordering a soda, I asked for coke. The lady told me its their own homemade type of cola that tastes like coke but it is not coke. I appreciate her telling me before hand but when I got the drink...it did not at ALL taste like coke. It actually didn't have any cola flavor in it. I immediately asked for a different drink which was nice of them to do. So my cousins and I were sitting there eating and chatting away .. about my third to last bite... this might gross you out so sorry about this in advance. But a piece of hair that was stuck in the meat got stuck in my teeth. I literally pulled it out in disgust and did not finish the last few bites left. Really grossed out that this was even in my sandwich and super unhappy about this. Randomly came here on a Tuesday for lunch with my husband and we loved it!! I got the original with the waffle. The honey sauce was so good, not too sweet, just right. The waffle and chicken were both crispy. The slaw was not heavy at all, more like cabbage topped on top, which is how I prefer rather than drenched in mayo. Hubby got the El Jefe and he loved it, especially the crispy onions in there. We split both and agreed that the chicken marinade was really good and herbaceous. Chicken was crispy and the sandwiches were both very light feeling! We also got a small cross cut fries - wish they were more crispy, but they were good. I love bruxie, the food taste amazing. I could eat it for breakfast lunch or dinner. They are right up there with raising canes if not better. I had slept on Bruxie for a while but I was missing one of my favorite food items in the world, Howlin Ray's Nashville Chicken sandwich. But it's a long drive (maybe an hour) and usually has a long wait (2 hrs) so I figured I would try and get my hot chicken fix wherever I could. After googling a bit saw that Bruxie now has Nashville style offerings. The online pictures look good so ordered it up, take out, and rushed to try it. As soon as I felt the heft of the bag (or lack of) I think I knew I had made a mistake. But still gave them the benefit of the doubt. After all flavor trumps portion size. Opened it up and was a bit confused. Some red oil in one container and what looked like tarter sauce in the other. Nothing like the pictures posted on their website or on their promo material in store. Started pouring, dipping, shaking, etc; trying to figure out how they intended me to eat this thing. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't' really find a way that I thought was really good. Also the chicken is jokingly thin. Only a couple of also amazingly thin sliced pickles and a light sprinkling of lettuce. My first trip there, don't know if there will be a second. It was so cheesy and the flavor was really good. Would definitely get that again. The waffle chicken sandwiches are really good too. Only problem I have with any of the chicken sandwiches is they sometimes start falling apart on you. But it's not really a deal breaker haha. Chicken is juicy and the waffle fries and tater tots (love that they have these options) are always hot and crispy. I heard they just added wings to their menu and can't wait to try those. For you waffle and chicken lovers!! First timer and ordered the Nashville Hot and it was very good!! Succulent and flavorful! This sandwich gets messy so prepare to dig in or eat with a fork/knife. You order at the counter. Then find a spot to sit. Although, most of the seating is under one roof, the entire area is open. It was a chilly day. All the tables with outdoor heaters were taken. So, some in our group were not comfortable with the chilly conditions and seating arrangements. Customer service was mixed. The girl who took our order was good. The person who brought our order was not very good. It took a bit long to receive our food. They also forgot about my fries until I told them they never brought it to me like they said they would. On to the food: the group at our table ordered the following: Original Chicken & Waffle ($8.50) Crispy Chicken & Waffle ($8.50) Holy Chicken & Waffle ($9.95) Kid's Mac & Cheese Waffle Fries ($2.50) Strawberry Lemonade We all thought the chicken tasted delicious. High expectations? Waa ultimately disappointed. You are my favorite dessert place! But the nutella banana waffle I got was meh. It had the taste and crunchiness but lacked the temperature. It was just cold all around. I'm hoping it waa an anomoly since it waa a chilly evening and I had my kids with me. I ordered a waffle burger combo - Non-greasy folded waffle holding two beef patties with cheese, mayo, lettuce, and tomato slice with waffle fries and their oh-so-yummy strawberry lemonade. I hiiighly recommend getting the combo! Worth the extra money to get both a drink and fries instead of buying one item separately. Seating is available inside or outside on the patio. I've heard about Bruxie over 10 years ago, only thing I knew was that they had waffle sandwiches. Intriguing but never went out of my way to try it. Last week I finally did. I got the original which is their play on chicken and waffles, but in sandwich form. The chicken was seasoned well, and the waffle was quite buttery. There was a drizzle of maple syrup. Overall, great sandwich but the syrup quickly made the bottom waffle soggy. I also had an order of the Irish nachos which were okay at best, way too salty for my liking. The fried pickles were great, a little thicker than what I was used to but still good. Overall, I'd come here again. I would love to try their other items. read more

Stopped by on Saturday after the movies for a quick bite. I was craving a chicken sandwich (as I normally do) and decided to give Bruxie a whirl! I didn't want anything to heavy or fried so I opted for a grill chicken sandwich with pickles and bruxie sauce My husband also got grilled chicken on the el jefe. Both were delicious, juicy and flavorful! We got a drink and a side of tots all for about $25 which is a pretty good deal for the size and quality of the sandwiches!
