Order was taken immediately. Ordered the pork egg rolls to start. Added garlic sriracha to my nuoc mam. They were crispy and so fresh. I ordered the Beef Rib Pho. My rib was brought out separately, and I added it into my broth later. Broth flavor was good, but was made even more savory with the rib soaking in it. I've wanted to try this place specifically for their Wagyu bo luc lac. I arrived around 3:30pm on a Saturday afternoon and was immediately seated (party of two), the place was pretty busy. There is a disclaimer that the wagyu bo luc lac takes 20 minutes to prepare but we received our food pretty quick, faster than 20 minutes I'd say. The pho came out fast too. I'm impressed that they use 100% bones for the broth, no fillers or bouillon. The pho was pretty average, the combination pho (pho phenomenal) includes rare steak, brisket, flank, tendon and tripe; no beef balls. The wagyu bo luc lac was pretty tasty! Had my first visit last night and already know that it'll be a regular spot for me. The atmosphere was a good mix of casual, clean and modern. Service and staff were friendly and efficient. When it comes to the food, the things that stood out positively were portion sizes being generous while also being affordable. My rice plate coming with a bowl of pork broth to sip was also a great addition. Zucchini noodles as an option with the pho is an innovative idea that also worked surprisingly well and felt healthy. Pretty much my one negative is that the charbroiled pork of my rice dish was a bit luke-warm and didn't seem made to order. It was noticeable throughout eating it, and honestly held back the rest of an otherwise outstanding meal. I might literally ask next time for them to make sure it's hot and fresh, because that really is a big factor for me. Excited to be back and try their wagyu rock and beef rib pho. read more

Wagyu Doin?...That was a bad pun...unlike the place! The exact opposite to be specific. Broth and Basil has exactly that...delicious broth that may come with basil. I've visited here twice and the service and quality of food have both been impeccable, definitely a must for any pho lovers. Atmosphere: Modern homely kind of place. Complete with a nice mural wall filled with art and puns. Makes for a nice picture. Food: The highlight of it all. Definitely would recommend the Wagyu or Beef Rib. The wagyu comes out in this nice presentation where the server will poor the broth into the bowl of wagyu, so you can actually see it cook before your eyes. The wagyu itself just melts in your mouth and is quite the delicious experience. Same with the beef rib, which comes out in this giant bone that can easily be sliced off in tasty fatty chunks. The broth for both tastes similar but another shining point as the broth has this nice balance of salt and spices. Very enjoyable. Service: Every time I've gone the service has been really great, very friendly and informative as well as attending to any needs that may occur. Easily can answer any questions about the menu too. Unpho-gettable...sorry had to but yes a must visit place for any lovers of Pho or anyone in need of a warm homely type meal that leaves you with just happy feelings. I admit, the first time I've heard of Broth & Basil and their expensive bowls of pho, I was assuming this would be one of those places that try too hard to be innovative on an already great cuisine. But more and more people came back with raving reviews, so maybe I was judging them too soon. Also word on the streets is that Broth & Basil has a Pho Wagyu dish for $18. This place is so close by and today is a special occasion kind of day, so this gave us the excuse to splurge a bit and grab two of these bowls. My goodness. The moment we walked in, we were hooked. The place looked modern, bright, and clean. The staff was super friendly and the food came out quick. This bowl originally comes out without the broth, with raw beef stacked on one side, and cooked beef (also wagyu) on the other. They would then pour the hot broth into your bowl, so the raw beef slowly cooks. No time for nice food pictures; I had to try the beef right away. It was obviously more tender than the regular beef in pho, and the quality was evident in the taste. Yes, it was incredible. The broth was also noticeably better. In all of their pho options, the broth was made without any additives, just straight from beef bone, and you can clearly taste and feel how clean it is. Quantity wise, there's plenty of broth, and they didn't skimp on the beef either. I was super full by the end of it. Now, is the $18 price tag worth it? I would say that it is, although actually ordering it would be once in a blue moon. But as for their regular bowls? The restaurant definitely sold me on its broth alone. read more

I finally tried Broth & Basil and it did not disappoint! I had the Pho vegan and egg rolls, and others in my group had the same and Pho Chicken. My eggrolls and vegan pho included fresh ingredients, and the flavors tasted fresh as well. We love a natural chef! I am vegan and though the vegan choices were limited it was fine because there is a vegan pho, rice dish, noodles and appetizer...so really that is more than a lot of other restaurants. The serving size is great for the price! The room is great for singles or large groups. I will definitely be back ! read more

Excellent first time in - and it won't be our last. The process when you come in is simple, I'd there is a wait you out your name down on the list and they seat you when a table becomes available. They told us 10 minutes but it was way less than 5. The service was excellent without them being in your face. Our drinks were filled, table was clean, food was hot and delicious and It was excellent quality food for the price. The kids each got kids pho (one with brisket and one with steak). I really appreciate the thought they took into their children's menu offerings. The kids could get practically anything on the menu in a kids size for a great price. Thank you for giving them options! They can also give you scissors cut the noodles and meat to make it super easy for the kids to eat! My husband had the special - beef rib pho. O. M. G. It was amazing. There was meat in the pho already but the rib was fall off the bone, tender and delicious without being overly fatty. It was a perfectly executed dish. I had the pho phenomenal without tripe or tendon. It was great! The broth had good flavor. I am not only a chili head but eat Keto. I had chili oil, chilli garlic paste and sriracha but didn't over do because the broth was very tasty. Here's the BEST PART - you can sub zucchini noodles for regular noodles and make this super low carb, and very healthy! My 7 year old hates zucchini but loved how they got all soft and tender just like regular noodles in the hot soup. I am so grateful to have "noodles" because I usually get pho broth with nothing in it which leaves me dissatisfied usually. We also got the pork egg rolls which the kids and hubby loved. This was our first time and food is excellent! We had iced coffee and iced green tea that was amazing! We had pork buns and egg rolls also fantastic. We had the chicken pho & rib pho both absolutely, delicious some of the best pho I've had here in Pflugerville. Only issue I had was there were a lot of bugs flying around inside the restaurant, as I was on a first date it was really inconvenient and difficult to eat. This is one of those places that I always seem to crave and think about on Sunday, when they are closed. My sister, niece, and I came by for lunch one day. The place was nice, clean, and quaint. It'sin the middle of Stonehill shopping center. We were seated promptly and our order came out very shortly thereafter. We shared some spring rolls which were fantastic. The dipping sauce was delicious and the rolls were huge and fresh. I ordered a bowl of the chicken pho with zucchini noodles and I was not on the last bit dissatisfied. The most gigantic bowl of broth was steaming hot and deliciously seasoned. The chicken was copious and perfectly cooked. The zucchini noodles were great! Our pho was served with an abundance of fresh and fragrant garnishes. I was thinking I was just going to have a little bit of this broth, but I couldn't stop. It was so comforting and warm. We ordered a charbroiled pork spring roll and they gave us a shrimp spring roll. After they gave us our correct spring roll, we were disappointed that it was literally just an unappealing square sheet of pork, vermicelli rice noodles and lettuce wrapped in rice paper, where are the carrots, cucumber, cilantro and mint that makes a spring roll a spring roll? They didn't bring us our bean sprouts, basil, jalepenos and limes until 5-10 minutes after the pho came out and we had to remind them after we saw the servers standing at the counter seemingly forgetting about our plate of vegetables they forgot to give us. Two words: Flavorful broth! Both for the pho and hu tieu. If the broth is good I can just eat pho with the soup and the rice noodles, no meat needed. The hu tieu is so comforting and satisfying especially with the extra floating crispy pork fat (Vietnamese chicharrones) I love it! The broth is so rich and full of flavor. I would be in trouble if I live close by. You can get the hu tieu "dry" with the soup on the side or as a noodle soup. I personally prefer noodle soup with egg noodles because I love my noodle soups.. I'm just in love with the hu tieu here that I can't describe the pho taste. I lean towards ordering the hu tieu every time! With a baby pho on the side once hahahah There are rice dishes too that I haven't tried. Save room for the beignet fries. read more

So glad I made it here! I passed by this new restaurant and just have not had a chance to try it. It's located in the same business plaza as Torchy's and Mod Pizza. I was able to find parking quickly, but I can tell it gets very busy in the parking lot nearby. We were seated and provided menus. The menu is on one side of the page. This is a plus for those who don't like a lot of options. I ordered the brisket and flank pho and buns with pork belly. The pork belly buns were good! The pho was delicious. While I didn't order a rice plate, I like how their rice plates come with broth on the side. That's actually one of the reasons why this place gets five stars. I love broth on the side with my rice plates. I tried the pork from the rice plate since my spouse ordered it. Another reason why this place is five stars to me is that everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised by the pho in this restaurant. I tried the Pho Wagyu and my boyfriend tried the Pho Prime Rib. The broth was very yummy, and the veggies were fresh. The customer service was pleasant and the aesthetic was charming. The prime rib was delicious, but it was a struggle to get off the bone and pick apart to eat. Happy second anniversary Broth and Basil! In these Covid times, it's great to see you've made it through your second year. To celebrate, I ordered takeout with my daughter. I have to first give compliments to how perfectly our to go order was packed! The noodles were already cooked and in a container with a baggie of raw, thinly sliced beef and some thinly sliced onions and veggies. In a separate container were the bean sprouts, basil, jalapeños and packets of hoisin sauce and sriracha. They recommend re-boiling the broth when you get home and then pouring it over the noodles, topped with the sliced beef and toppings. It was amazing and the beef rib, perfection! I have also had the pleasure of dining in the restaurant as well and it was also very good. The wait staff is very friendly and professional and accommodating. I look forward to many more meals here. They had the waygu beef pho special which was $18 that my fiancé ordered. I had one bite of the beef and it was very tender with a nice balance of meat and fat! The broth was pretty tasty too! I had their Hu Tieu, dry which meant the broth was on the side and with the choice of egg noodles. The dish was flavorful but slightly on the saltier side. However, the "charbroiled shrimp" (was steamed) spring rolls didn't come out fresh and rice paper was semi hardened from laying out over time.
