Arrived too early for hotel checkin at Townplace Suites next door, so we had lunch while room was being cleaned. About lunch time on a weekend and place was filled. Usually pho places with crappy service means the pho is reallllly good. Not completely true with this place. I did like the broth but was completely ignored for my entire meal. Waiter dropped off my drinks and pho like it was an inconvenience. I thought that's how it just was. But then I noticed they were nice to other people mainly females. Stopping by a table next to me asking if they needed anything, or just actually being useful. I sat there for about 15 minutes for someone to come by to either let me know how I pay or to ask if there was anything else I wanted. I eventually got over it and walked to desk to pay. I also had to stand there for a while to even be noticed. Visiting from Chicago, first time in Austin, stayed right next door to this restaurant at the Hilton. We ate here 3 times!!! Not my first time having Pho, but it was one of the best pho I have had. This place is authentic and delicious. The pho was amazing, the smoothies were delicious, the spring rolls to die for! The staff were very attentive and kind. They were great at suggesting items on the menu and they were happy to describe food items when we needed clarification. The restaurant itself was very clean, it was not a wanna be fancy and aesthetic place, which I can appreciate because that speaks a lot to why the place continues to stay open and stays busy. When we walked in, we were hardly greeted and the service was cold overall. I wanted to give this place a chance and see if it was authentic but it wasn't. It was tasteless and the menu didn't match what we ordered. We ordered the vermicelli bowl and it didn't come with any egg rolls, egg, or variety of items. Very nice people! Came here with a party of 7 including 4 kids. Got seated right away. Took our order and our drinks and appetizers came pretty quickly. Ordered spring rolls and pho. The spring roll was so fresh and delicious. The pho was a good size with plentiful of meat. Broth was yummy. One bowl was enough to share with my two kids. The standout thing about this place is the people and service. I came here with 3 boys and a 1 year old girl. The mess my daughter made is embarrassing. I feel so bad, but they were so nice about it. They smiled and offered if there is anything else they can do to help. Often checking up on us. The people here are so sweet. Even offered lollipops to the kids. Everyone enjoyed their meal. THE EGGROLLS HERE ARE PHENOMENAL! I've been on the hunt for the best Vietnamese egg rolls since Vahns closed their truck and I finally found them! These egg rolls are PACKED with flavor and the fish sauce is just perfect! The basil beef vermicelli is also damn good! Very tender and bursting with flavor! Douse it in that fish sauce too! I would take half the noodles out and save them for leftovers though as the meat to noodles ratio is WAY off. I was also bummed to see my meal didn't come with an egg roll as most places gives one with entrees. The flavors here just can't be beat! I'm a fan for sure! read more

Came here with a coworker for lunch and really enjoyed everything we ordered! We got an order of steamed pork dumplings and spring rolls and both were good but the dumplings were awesome. I got pho with brisket and steak and it was really good. The broth was good which is always important. The food came out extremelyyyy fast so service was very quick. Absolute worst service of my life. No introduction as we walked in and almost immediately asked what we wanted before we had a chance to look at the menu and then stood there until we were ready. Our food was placed in front of us without a word and AFTER having plenty of bites, I found a long black hair in it! We notified an employee, they picked it up without apology and brought another one back without a word. They watched us the whole time we ate and kept reminding us when they closed (mind you, we showed up almost 40 minutes before close). They were turning off lights to get us out of there even though there were two other families there. Also, they had a guy working on some construction thing in the corner? With a saw or something. And there was a heavy silence, no music, just my guy in the corner drilling and cutting wood. The food was good though! read more

The food was ok but don't go for the dining experience. When we came in, they just plunked us down at the first table closest to the door, despite lots of nice seating all around. We ordered an appetizer and dinner and they brought the meal no more than 20 seconds after the appetizer. The spring rolls we got were huge, and good, but our dinners had cooled off quite a bit by the time we finished the appetizers. The sauce for the dinner (stir fry vermicelli) had too much of a sweet taste for me. No apparent alcohol - at least didn't see it on the menu, so check if that's important to you. They were doing a brisk Grub Hub business so probably more a take-out place. read more

Unless you aren't from the area, they seem easy to find; right off the freeway. The detour is through a parking lot. Friendly, fast and easy service was welcoming. Kids menu is available. Their pho broth was one of the best I've tasted in a really long time. Entertainment while dining is a nice filler for silence between a mouthful. TV and music play in the background. If I could give this place zero starts I would! I ordered lunch from them on yesterday(09/05/24) and when we got back to office I opened up my food and found several pieces of human hair in my meat. I'm not sure if they dropped my food I floor and placed in take out or the cook didn't wear a net or what. Highly recommend you don't spend your money here. This was very unsanitary! This place deserves a second chance! It wasn't a horrible experience,it's just that we've had better Vietnamese, coming from NYC. I ordered #50 on the menu: Steamed Crushed Rice topped with Charcoal-broiled Pork Chop. The rice with the sauce was perfect, but the pork lacked the sweetness you'd expect from this cuisine. My wife ordered the Vermicelli with fried egg rolls and pork. The pork was a bit too chewy, but the flavor of the meat was good; egg rolls were very good, and were the favorite of our kids. The staff were kind, accommodating and responsive for the most part. We ordered dumplings as appetizers, but they never brought it out. When the time came to pay, I told them not to charge us for it because it never came out, and they were surprised, but they also apologized. It's very easy to notice that this place is indeed very popular. There was a constant flow of people coming in for takeout/delivery, but also lots of people dining in. It took us a while to find an empty parking spot. I would definitely give this restaurant a second try, but my wife wasn't impressed. I guess it depends on what you order. Got the pho with well done flank and brisket. I ordered to go for my son and I to share. I must say, this was delicious The first thing I look for is a good broth. Normally I am putting everything in from the sauces to the lime, but the broth was so good by itself that I didn't even look at the sauces let alone the slice of lime. I didn't want to ruin the yummy flavor. It wasn't watered down and wasn't overpowered by too much spices either. Ordered through grub hub via Yelp and I've never had a more smooth and fast service in all my life. I ordered at 11:51 and by 11:56 it was already done and ready for pick up. As I walked in, they had tables for grub hub orders conveniently in front. The young lady was prompt, asked me if I was dining in or pick up and she handed me my food within seconds of walking into the establishment. I was in town and wanted some good Vietnamese food. I ordered the following: 1.) Egg Rolls: don't confuse these with spring rolls! It came with two good sized egg rolls and fish sauce. I wish they had offered some cilantro and iceberg lettuce but nonetheless they were fried to perfection. The filling was pork and vegetables like carrots and mushrooms along with cellophane (glass) noodles. Pretty good flavors and filling. 2.) Charcoal-broiled Pork Vermicelli: the serving was perfect for lunch, not too little and not too much. It came with charcoal-broiled pork on top of steamed vermicelli noodles and crushed peanuts. Other add ons were cucumbers, lettuce, bean sprouts and pickled carrots. The texture and added flavors the vegetables gave the dish brightened it up and brought it to a different level. Pour the fish sauce over, add some spice if you'd like and just mix everything together! The pork was broiled to perfection. Not chewy or tough, but tender and flavorful. The pork reminded me of the Korean dish, bulgogi, in terms of flavor. The noodles were cooked to perfection, not under or over. A delightful dish that didn't make it seem heavy even though it's noodles! I'd definitely come back for the fast and friendly service and more importantly the food! read more

I was craving Pho Hoang yesterday so I ordered food to-go via the GrubHub app. The restaurant offers on-line ordering via their own website but GrubHub offered a 10% discount if you order pick-up thru their website. Once I ordered my food I received a update within about 15 mins saying the food was ready for pick-up and when I arrived the pick-up process was quick and easy. For this visit I ordered #46 which consisted of Vermicelli Noodles, Charbroiled Chicken, Shrimps and Egg Roll. Also included with the plate were fresh veggies (Lettuce, Cucumber, Carrots and Bean Sprouts), a cup of fish sauce and a cup of hot sauce. I kinda wanted some soup so I also got side order of Pho Broth with meatballs. Sadly, when I got home I found that they forgot to add the meatballs to the broth... Boo. It was ok though and I didn't really need it because as you can see their serving size is quite large. I received a survey from GrubHub in which I mentioned the oversight and I immediately received a reply apologizing and providing me with about a $2 credit (cost of the add'l meatballs). Everything about this plate was wonderful... The chicken and shrimp were very well seasoned and the crispy egg roll was delicious when dipped into the cup of fish sauce. The pho broth was also so good and flavorful. My order came out to about $13 which included the pick-up discount. I'll definitely be back! read more
