I went here for a late lunch. It is a very nice restaurant in the shopping center across from H-E-B. I walked in and the restaurant was very clean and comfortable. We were the only people in the restaurant. We were seated promptly. This restaurant serves both Vietnamese and Chinese food. They have a generous menu. I was able to alter my dish to make it sugar-free. I was very impressed, because even though none of the sauces on the menu were sugar free, The server communicated my food restriction to the chef, and the chef made me a wonderful sauce with soy sauce which he mixed with corn starch to make it thicker. He then poured it over shrimp and vegetables and gave me white rice on the side. It was absolutely amazing! I totally took note of how he made that sauce, and I'm going to make it at home! I felt this was over and above, because they could've easily said, no I'm sorry we don't have anything sugar-free, but they did not! This place has good food, I ordered the Bun Cha Gio with Thit Nuong. The dish was served in a great portion. My friend ordered Pho Tai Chin and another friend ordered Mongolian beef. Our order came out quickly, however mine did have a piece of plastic in the food! I didn't point it out as I didn't want to cause a scene. But there should be better care when it come to preparation. Also, the jasmine tea I ordered was very weak, just a teabag in a teapot. I could have brought that from home. I've ordered from this restaurant before. Usually not bad althoigh my husband says their chicken is subpar (tastes like low-grade meat). But I liked them enough to order again. I work long hours and tried to place an order for delivery. They closed before my runner got there (within their business hours). So I tried another day to call in an order for pickup. They quoted me $21 for the exact same dish. $4 more than what it cost for delivery. I questioned the price and she said that's the price. I told her what happened with my precious delivery order. She didn't even address the issues I'd had, simply stated again that that was the price. I canceled my order. Thought maybe third time was the charm so I placed the order for delivery (the cheaper price) and it arrived this time. And while the flavor was goood, my pan fried noodles were dry/burnt with no sauce in the middle. In fact, about half of the noodles were CRUNCHY. Love the fried rice! Fast delivery. I tried the Mongolian beef, low mien, wings and fired rice. Mongolian beef was just ok. For the low mien and rice I tried with chicken, shrimp and beef. The rice was terrific and the wings and sauce provided was the bomb. They included a couple packs of soy, but if you want some hot sauce you need to ask cause I didn't get any. I wasn't able to try any of their numerous Vietnamese offerings this time, so this review concentrates on the "Americanized" Chinese lunch specials that we ordered for delivery. First, an FYI for Keto-friendly or weight-watching folk: be sure to add some carb and caloric points for the heavy use of (I'm assuming) cornstarch as a thickener on many entrees and soups. Having said that, I thought that overall everything was tasty, of generous portions considering all entrees were ordered off of the lunch menu, and well-prepared. I would order from here again. We tried the following lunch items: *Hot & Sour Soup--not spicy according to my Texas tastebuds, but chock full of goodies. Good flavor, but (in my opinion), too thick. *Egg drop Soup--as generally expected, but really thick (which leads to gloppy), and I would have appreciated a deeper chicken flavor. *Wonton Soup--contained 3 fully-stuffed wontons in a very good, flavorful (NOT thickened) broth. Good! *Egg Rolls--of the thinner, smaller, spring roll type, with a not-too-thick "skin," stuffed with a nice balance of veg and a bit of pork, fried perfectly crispy. I don't usually order egg rolls on purpose, but will eat them when they're included on a lunch, but I thought these were a good rendition so I might order or recommend. I was only disappointed that my requested hot mustard was not included (but house-made sweet 'n sour sauce was, so no cheapie packets here--yea!). *Kung Pao Shrimp--a generous lunch portion of 6 medium-large shrimp, with green bell pepper (which I love in this dish), along with its usual veggies and peanuts, in a sauce that could be spicier and not as thick, but it was flavorful. *Mongolian Beef--I have the same comments about this dish (too thick; could be spicier, but it was flavorful) with perfectly cooked onions, and the marinated beef was tender/easy to chew, so they don't skimp on the quality of beef. Thank you! I added a bit of chili oil to suit my own palate. *Orange Chicken--white meat chicken with just the right thickness of crispy coating, guaranteed to fill you up. Personally I'd appreciate more orange peel, but overall a good choice. *Fried Rice--this was the side choice on our lunch entrees and I found it to be light and tasty with just the right amount of "stickiness." I can imagine that it could turn into a nice entree dish with proteins, etc. As a "Foodie" I can be a bit more critical of dishes than others, but taking everything into consideration, this was a very satisfying lunch, and I would recommend this restaurant. They offer all of "Americans' greatest hits" of Chinese dishes, at reasonable prices, prepared with quality ingredients, along with an extensive Vietnamese menu. In addition, my special requests were honored, which demonstrates that this restaurant values its customers' satisfaction and repeat business. My next order: Pho, and....we'll see. :) read more

This dishes are basically what you'd expect at a place that yelp lists as serving "Asian Fusion, Vietnamese, Chinese" -- adulterated versions of what you'd hope to get at a restaurant that specializes in a single cuisine. Maybe that's a bit unfair -- Sea Dragon managed to have some decent Vietnamese and Chinese dishes, like their pho ap chao, which is unusual to see at a place that doesn't specialize in Vietnamese. This place has an expansive menu, but the quality isn't there. They also have pho ap chao on the menu but they're stingy on the seafood, in both quality and quantity (yes, I know the joke about how the food is terrible and the portions are so small, but I don't mind paying for good food or a good quantity of food, but paying for neither when either is available nearby seems like a bad deal). P.S. if you're looking for pho ap chao, the chef at Sea Dragon moved to Pho Ha Noi and they now have the same dish done in the same style. read more

The short version. Food is ok. Service is clearly lacking. After leaving Bass Pro Shop for a Sunday afternoon errand, I decided I wanted some Chinese food and saw this place was nearby and open for dine-in. Some of the reviews were really good and I thought it was worth a try, especially when I saw a sign in the window that said "Dine In Welcome." When I walked in, I was greeted from the counter and told to sit anywhere. I was able to scan their menu from my phone. I then ordered my iced tea. No sweetener on the table. I asked for it and it never showed up until I asked for it on a second visit to the table. Otherwise, the service was hit or miss on checking by the table even though less than three tables were occupied. And other than the silverware and the sweetener, the tables were empty -- and the staff wasn't friendly, so I didn't feel comfortable asking for lemon for the tea or soy for the rice or entree. Food -- very mixed. The steamed potstickers were as good as any in town, if not better. Oddly, he rice for my entrée came out with the potstickers. Then the General Tso's Chicken came out VERY quickly after that. The chicken dish was dry and the sauce didn't really stick to the chicken nor did it add much flavor (or heat) to the chicken. And with as quickly as everything I ordered came out, I'm not sure that much of this wasn't pre-made as other reviewers have surmised. While I don't venture to this part of Round Rock often, I'd definitely skip this. Their price point was slightly above average and I can pay less money where I get better food from people who appreciate my business. read more

I live less than 5 min away from this place and I eat here 2-3 times per week. It is by far the best Chinese restaurant I've had in both Round Rock and Austin over the last 8 years. Every single time I've been here (which has been MANY), my order has come out correctly and the quality of the food has been the same. My tried and true order is the general tso's chicken but my favorite dish is definitely the lemon grass beef. It's amazing - spicy and in this homemade beef gravy that has my mouth watering every time I drive it home. That's the one and only downside to this place: driving it because they don't offer delivery.
