    Combo vermicelli bowl
    Lori H.

As you walk in, the bar overwhelms the restaurant space and did not appear ready for a full bar at the time, seems more like a staff work space? We were sat at the opposite end where most seating is. I'd guess there were a total of 6 booth seating and a few 2 seat tables I couldn't quite remember but not a large space. Lots of stool seating at the bar mentioned at least a dozen+ We started with the pork/shrimp spring roll that were in generously filled with a char siu like pork and good sized shrimp halves served with peanut sauce. Nothing unique to review except the wrap was chewy. Entrees were the Neptune platter and combo vermicelli bowl with pork, chicken, beef and shrimp. The Neptune was ok, it wasn't bad but nothing blew my tastebuds out of the park. The meats in the combo vermicelli bowl were chopped so fine, and minimal that you could not identify what proteins you were actually given in the combo. Their bowls are prepared different somewhat like a stir fry rather than the traditional bowls. The flavor was ok, again, not a home run on any of these dishes to bring us back to this place. Staff were stoic with very little personality that welcomes guests. It's free, use it to your advantage. We still tipped well in hopes that it would bring some smiles to other guests after us

They are still new so they have work to do. The sauces are very heavy on the entrees. Food could have been warmer. They charge extra for a soup change or fried rice. I try again in a few months if near. Very lovely setting. The serve beer and wine. Tables are very close together. There is a room for private party

A great Vietnamese food option in the Leander area. Service is quick and friendly. The restaurant is clean and well-organized. I would recommend it for a small or large group.

First time trying this new restaurant, it's a smaller space. They do have bar seating, tables and a few booths. It looked like they carry a few different kinds of beer. The service was great, friendly and super attentive! We ordered the spicy chicken platter that comes with steamed rice (we ordered fried rice), eggroll and a choice of soup. We chose the wonton soup and also ordered a plate of crab wontons. Everything was fresh, hot and tasted great. The spicy chicken wasn't spicy to us. Next time we're going to request, if possible, that they make ours more spicy. We will definitely return.

So excited to finally have a Chinese food restaurant in the area. I've been a fan of Hao Hao in Round Rock for years. I know some have posted about them having a rough start but we visited over the weekend and really enjoyed it. Service was quick and the food was delicious. We loved the chicken lomein and sesame chicken. I think they may be going through some growing pains but this will be a solid option for takeout for my family in the future. Seating inside is limited so you may need to wait if you want to sit down to eat. Otherwise, this is a welcome addition to the restaurant scene in this area and I'm looking forward to delicious Chinese takeout from Hao Hao again soon.

3 stars because I'm not completely unwilling to give it another shot. I'm sick so i ordered chicken pho without chicken because i can't stomach it. Got my order home to a whole mess of chicken at the bottom of some lukewarm broth. And then like maybe a cup of noodles. So disappointing. For 15$ please don't skimp me on the noods. And heat your broth!!!!

Hands down the best pan-Asian food in Leander. We eat here once every other week or so. Highly recommend.

Closing at nine isn't super convenient. However, the general tsos was quite tasty. Arguably the best one in the area.

I had a large hot and sour soup and an order of four vegetable egg rolls. The soup was good but I was disappointed there were no little chunks of pork in it. The egg rolls were the worst I've ever tried to eat, after requesting soy sauce and hot mustard, which should've accompanied this dish. They were previously frozen and gooey inside. Just awful. The beef was tender and the onions were cooked perfectly in my Mongolian beef, but there was barely any sauce. Same with my wife's dish: very little sauce. Neither dish had much flavor. My Mongolian beef was supposed to be spicy. There were three peppers on my plate, but it wasn't spicy at all. I had to drench everything with hot oil. The hot tea was too weak to drink. I'm 74 and traveled the country for 35 years during my career working for a Japanese company. I ate at least one Asian meal per week at a Chinese, Japanese, Thai or sushi restaurant. I also cook delicious stir fry dishes with scratch made sauces.

I like this more than I thought I would. I also appreciate that it had fresh greens on top. it's also served with some chicken broth. I did not use it yet, smells amazing though. When I walked in, I was greeted by two friendly young ladies. I placed my order and waited. I do not have a large waiting area. They also do not have a large dining room. I would love to come back and bring friends as it's a very cute place and the staff is very friendly. Small and casual decor would be a great place to come with friends. The service is great, my waitress just knows how to read the room, ask, and provide info. I was looking at the menu for a while that she came up to me and help explain certain dishes and fan favs or her personal favorites which helped a lot! She's very kind and sweet. It's a quiet little place, but it's quick to fill up. I sat in the right hand corner which is tucked off. I like my spot cause I felt like I was in a noir vibe. So here's a quick lil announcement though. The wait for the apps was short, but the wait for my main dish was 15-20 minutes I don't think my wait is Normally that long but just a heads up. This is the cost of cheap but great quality food. For the appetizers I got the spicy shrimp and the steam chicken dumplings. They both came out really hot so be careful lol. Man the spicy shrimp was very delicious and spicy! But not too spicy for me because I'm use to it but if you're not a spicy veteran this does have a good kick. I loved the sauce and the lettuce, which i used pieces of it to scoop and eat my shrimp in whole. This is a 5/5 recommend The dumplings came out in a pair for like 4-5 dollars I think. It was very hot and soft. The only thing tho was that the meat inside the dumpling was a lil dry compared to a lot of Asian restaurants I've tried BUT it tasted good and was flavor. 4/5. I got the Ox tail Beef broth soup and the Nasi Padang. The ox tail was very good, it has its spices but it's a simple soup with the meat, the potatoes and chopped up tomatoes all thrown into the bowl, with wontons. I used the side chili they gave me, lime into the soup. It was so much to eat for me including the rice with the bowl. Of soup was a lot. Because it was ox the price was a bit high so like 19 which is reasonable. The broth was great, it's simple yet very delectable. The Nasi Padang, was a curry based plate with two types of meat, shredded beef and chicken, two different curry flavors. One was sweet and the other was tangy which was different. It wasn't my favorite but the ox tail definitely beat it. Overall this place was really good and something yall should doif you wanna eat out on budget but good.

First time here. We've been on the hunt for all of the live crawfish, Asian Cajun style in Austin…read more I found out about Mala Chili via a Foodie FB group I'm in. So here we are. We arrived around 7:40p Saturday evening and this spot is bumpin busy and very lively. The outdoor patio was even packed. We were so lucky as a walk-in party of 2, a table was being cleaned so we were able to be seated quickly. Our server brought us each a tablet to order our food. I ordered the cucumber salad and general tso chicken with fried rice. My man ordered 2 lbs of live mala style crawfish $18 per pound (min 2# per order) with 5 shrimp. He also ordered the sesame chicken dish. Our food came out within 10 minutes, super fast. The crawfish took a little bit longer because I believe they make it fresh. Here's where it gets interesting. My man said his mouth was tingling and his tongue felt funny and when he took a drink of his tea it tasted super weird. Come to find out, the crawfish mala sauce has Szechuan peppercorn which has a numbing tingling effect to your tongue and mouth. We did not know this before we ordered. So He thought he was having an allergic reaction to something. We asked our server and she explained a traditional mala seasoning. I highly recommend that this is listed on the menu item as a forewarning to those that have never had the Mala live crawfish here before. Sadly, there were a lot of crawfish wasted tonight because He wasn't able to eat them all That seasoning just did not agree with his mouth or taste buds at all. :( But....The general tso and sesame chicken dishes were tasty! Another call out, We both ordered ice tea at the beginning and it came out pretty quickly, But no one returned to our table during our time here to offer refills or to check in on us after everything was delivered. I understand the restaurant was busy when we arrived but it slowed down while we were there. We may return to this location if we are in the area to try other dishes but unfortunately, he is unable to eat the live crawfish due to that one seasoning. Everyone was super friendly and I recommend trying the restaurant if you haven't before it.
