We have visited Hao Hao a few times to give it the benefit of doubt. Every time we've visited has disappointed us in different ways. 1. Staff was trying to hard to act like they wanted to be there. They did not show any form of enthusiasm for their craft. If you're going to be a server for this season in Your life,, be the best, get the higher tips, just be. 2. The food lacked the unique Viet flavor. The Pho was watered down and gave very limited basil, bean sprouts and such. 3. The ambiance was better at McDs across the way. Not a place I feel welcome and want to return to. I gave it 2 stars because the food was not completely terrible, but, it absolutely lacked. I'll try it again in 6 months and see if it's changed. The food is delicious and hefty portions. I love the egg rolls and bbq pork fried rice. The staff is also very friendly! Great place to eat.

TLDR: Reliable Chinese and Vietnamese spot with generous portions, excellent fried rice, standout egg foo young, friendly service, and fair prices. A great choice for dine in or takeout. We've eaten at Hao Hao several times now, both dine in and takeout, and it has quietly become one of our regular spots. The location is easy to get to with good parking, which already makes it a win. The bright open sign was a smart addition and definitely draws your eye. Inside, the dining room is smaller with limited tables, which actually gives it a more relaxed, quaint feel compared to larger, noisier places. They offer both Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. I am not especially familiar with Vietnamese food, but I enjoy Chinese and have struggled to find a local option we really like. Hao Hao has filled that gap for us. Across multiple visits, we have tried a variety of dishes and have yet to have a bad meal. Somewhat unexpectedly, the fried rice is excellent. It even reheats well, which is not something I usually say about fried rice. This visit was with my parents. It was a little louder than our previous visits, likely because kids were out for the holidays, but still enjoyable. We started with fried dumplings, edamame, and ribs. The dumplings were nicely crisp without being greasy or water logged. I am not a rib person, but my significant other orders them every time, which speaks for itself. I shared the chicken egg foo young with my mother. This is my third time ordering egg foo young here. I usually get the vegetable version, but the chicken was just as good. Not many places serve egg foo young anymore, likely because it is messy and time consuming to make, but it remains one of my favorite dishes. Portions are generous. Two large omelets, plenty of sauce, and lots of fresh mushrooms. My mother's boyfriend ordered the pho and was very positive about it. The portion size alone was impressive. My significant other ordered the shrimp with black pepper salt and talked through the meal about how good it was. Service is table service and the staff have consistently been pleasant and easy to interact with. Food was a bit slow this visit, but that was unusual and they were clearly busy. It did not detract from the experience. Overall, this was another great meal. Reasonably priced, generous portions, and reliable quality. We will absolutely keep coming back. read more

First visit, at dinner time on a Friday evening (about 5:30 p.m. I give them a solid 4 for the food, but a 2 for service. I don't have anything negative to say about the server. He was congenial and hustling. But it appeared they didn't have enough staff and they weren't well trained (a management issue). I had to ask separately to get sweet and sout sauce with my egg roll, had to ask a second time for my crunchy noodles, and had to ask separately for soy sauce for my entree. The sense was that the server had to take care of way too many tables. Just too few staff, and insufficient training. The othet negative is that they charge extra for little add ons that most places include. On the other hand, the food was pretty good. I want this place to succeed. I did enjoy everything I ordered. Had Pork and Shrimp Spring Rolls with Peanut Sauce, Egg Drop Soup, Crunchy Noodles (that cost extra - most places don't charge for these), and Shrimp and Lobster Sauce. And it was Friday evening rush time. Just need for management to more fully train staff on how to fully take care of customers. I do like the food here. As you walk in, the bar overwhelms the restaurant space and did not appear ready for a full bar at the time, seems more like a staff work space? We were sat at the opposite end where most seating is. I'd guess there were a total of 6 booth seating and a few 2 seat tables I couldn't quite remember but not a large space. Lots of stool seating at the bar mentioned at least a dozen+ We started with the pork/shrimp spring roll that were in generously filled with a char siu like pork and good sized shrimp halves served with peanut sauce. Nothing unique to review except the wrap was chewy. Entrees were the Neptune platter and combo vermicelli bowl with pork, chicken, beef and shrimp. The Neptune was ok, it wasn't bad but nothing blew my tastebuds out of the park. The meats in the combo vermicelli bowl were chopped so fine, and minimal that you could not identify what proteins you were actually given in the combo. Their bowls are prepared different somewhat like a stir fry rather than the traditional bowls. The flavor was ok, again, not a home run on any of these dishes to bring us back to this place. Hao Hao is the newest addition to the Bar W Market place located in the Liberty Hill, Georgetown West area. It Goes by many names, as its borders Morningside, Rancho Sienna and Bar W communities. The restaurant itself is tastefully done. The seating area is larger than I expected, with a large group table just as you enter the restaurant. Lots of items to choose from. I sampled the menu with a combination fried rice and an order of Tempura Shrimp. The shrimp were nice and crunchy, the rice hot and fresh. Egg roll - bland and stringy. Even with the sweet and sour it was not edible. First time trying this new restaurant, it's a smaller space. They do have bar seating, tables and a few booths. It looked like they carry a few different kinds of beer. The service was great, friendly and super attentive! We ordered the spicy chicken platter that comes with steamed rice (we ordered fried rice), eggroll and a choice of soup. We chose the wonton soup and also ordered a plate of crab wontons. Everything was fresh, hot and tasted great. The spicy chicken wasn't spicy to us. Next time we're going to request, if possible, that they make ours more spicy. We will definitely return. read more

So excited to finally have a Chinese food restaurant in the area. I've been a fan of Hao Hao in Round Rock for years. I know some have posted about them having a rough start but we visited over the weekend and really enjoyed it. Service was quick and the food was delicious. We loved the chicken lomein and sesame chicken. I think they may be going through some growing pains but this will be a solid option for takeout for my family in the future. Seating inside is limited so you may need to wait if you want to sit down to eat. Otherwise, this is a welcome addition to the restaurant scene in this area and I'm looking forward to delicious Chinese takeout from Hao Hao again soon. read more

Had a work meeting here and the service was fantastic. They opened the doors early for people to come in and get seated which was awesome! I ordered a food and it was delicious. No complaints. We are not Chinese (or Vietnamese) food connoisseurs or anything but Hao Hao is great food at a very fair price. The portions are enormous, so you can easily share. We have had the miracle shrimp, it is rich and delicious, the Mongolian beef is fresh and delicious, and the cashew chicken which is mild and delicious and several appetizers. Crab Rangoons, hot & sour soup, pot stickers, and egg rolls. We enjoyed it. I doubt you will be disappointed. Thank you Hao Hao. read more

Nice.Clean.....Then the food arrives. There are steep standards for Beef & Broccoli and this missed the bar by far! The beef was so TOUGH & CHEWY and the Broccoli was so undercooked. The sauce missed the mark for what we have all come to know as being a classic Chinese recipe. It fell on the bland side. No Chinese music in background. No real ambience to be had. I also had to get up and ask for Soy sauce and then up again to get straws. They charge $22.00 as the lowest price for Egg Foo Yung and it goes up from there?? We had a bowl of Pho which was huge and asked to take it home. The waitress dropped a Styrofoam container off, where we managed to spill all over the table because we did not have any proper tools for managing such a task as that on our own at a table. Very bad Chinese food. Tried the Vietnamese shrimp rolls and dynamite chicken and both were terrible. The chicken dish was barely edible. Loaded with salt. Came out so hot I couldn't even eat it for a few minutes. Doused in sauces and loaded with sodium. The lo mein noodles were overcooked and soggy, and piping hot temperature. Way too hot. Burnt my tongue. Truly was the worse Asian food I've had in a long time. I'd say 2 notches below Panda Kitchen and Panda Kitchen is about as Chinese as Chipotle is Mexican. I definitely do not recommend this place, at all. Not to mention absolutely zero data service on your phone. The owner would've known this and didn't bother installing WiFi before their opening. Very sad to write such a negative review for a small business trying to make it but this was so bad. I wish them luck. read more

Having a Pho' craving, we went here as it is close to home. Parking is tight and essentially strip mall parking and most people back into parking spots to make it easier to get out. The interior is casual and not real big. There are booths in the back and small tables scattered throughout. We asked for a booth and were quickly seated. The food menu is mostly Chinese, with a smattering of other dishes (think Pad Thai and Singapore Noodles). There are Pho' and rice vermicelli Vietnamese options as well. I ordered the Pho' with meatballs and my wife had the Steak & Brisket Pho'. We both also ordered a draft beer (reasonably priced at $5 per pint). Our server was friendly, accommodating, and attentive. Our Pho' arrived relatively quickly and the bowls were huge. At $15 per bowl, it was not overpriced. We each received a small plate with some bean sprouts, 2 slices of jalapeño, a quarter of a lime, and a few wilted basil leafs. We have eaten Pho' in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and absolutely love great broth. The broth was nice and hot, but lacked any true Pho' flavor. It was missing the unique anise and cinnamon flavor, and there was no apparent fish sauce flavor. I had to ask for chili paste as Sriracha (what they brought to the table) in Pho' is a big no-no for me. My wife commented that it tasted like simple beef broth, and I have to agree... no authentic flavor at all. The noodles were cooked correctly without being gummy. The meatballs in my Pho' were very good and the slices of meat in my wife's soup were plentiful. The portions were definitely large and filling. While I won't return for the Pho', we may go back to try some of their Chinese items. Went to Hao Hao today for the first time with my partner and little sister. We ordered a lunch special (available til 3) with fried rice and general tsos chicken, comes with a hot and sour soup but we upgraded to an egg drop. For appetizers we ordered the ribs, calamari, steamed dumplings, and crab wontons. I also had a wonton soup. EVERYTHING was beyond good it completely shocked all 3 of us. The only thing we didn't like was the fried rice, so we told our server Kyland and he immediately understood, spoke with the kitchen, and came back to give us a discount and apologized and reassured the kitchen was making a new batch. Other than that, the chicken was tasty and not spicy at all. Came out fresh and hot with two broccolis for the lunch portion. This place has enough appetizers to make you feel like you're ordering tapas or small plates and can definitely leave feeling full and satisfied just based on the apps. The calamari was by far the best I've ever had. Completely different than what you would typically see in an Italian restaurant. Here the flavor is smokier and topped with green onions (the perfect amount). The crab wontons were proportioned perfectly with the filling and crust. The sweet sauce paired well with it. The steamed dumplings were pork (only option for meat, but you can order pan fried instead) and had great flavor. That one came with a dumpling sauce that elevated the taste without overpowering. The ribs were amazing. Cooked perfectly and seasoning was so tasty. Soups came with dry crisps to top off and they came out before our other dishes which was perfect timing to us having soup, then apps, then our entree. I had a Thai tea and it wasn't the best or the worst, but the food made up for it. Appetizers all came with 4 pieces each dish. Pictures were taken after we started eating, it was that good! There is a women's and men's bathroom, one stall only per room but very clean and modern. When you go, ask for Kyland! He was so attentive, communicative, friendly, and patient. Cleaned our table every time we finished a plate, made sure our glasses stayed full, and checked in on us the perfect amount of times. We will definitely be coming back with more of our family and we're so excited that there's a good Asian restaurant so close to us in the area! read more

I like the food here. This area is in desperate need of restaurants that are not burgers. The thing that needed improvement is the waitress that served my family. She seems to have a habit of overfilling things and being in a hurry. She overfilled our teas and spilled it on the table and the floor. Did not clean it up. She took our orders and then texted on her phone at the bar in plain sight before putting in the order. She brought out the entrees before the appetizer. She then overfilled a sweet and sour sauce and was in a hurry and spilled it all over my dad. She then grabbed a rag that was used to wipe down tables to wipe his arm. He had sauce all over him. She did apologize and kept saying let me know if I should take it off instead of getting a manager and choosing to take off his meal. He then had to drive home in 2 hours with sticky clothes. It was a disaster. Update- the manager has offered to pay for our next meal and my dad. Which is appreciated. I do like the food here so I do plan on being back. 2nd update- we returned for our comped meal. It was yummy as always. The staff let us know the waitress is no longer there.
