do you pre-portion your meals and then just warm them up as they get ordered????

Feel as if this was already "prepackaged" n just microwaved way too long for this foam plate to handle

    Leather ribs

I've been going to happy wok for years - and I've always been really impressed with the speed of service and the quality of the food - however I ordered some takeout from today and I have to say the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life it looked and tasted like it was cooked not only yesterday but days ago- I won't be ordering from there again, it must be under a new management because this is not like them, once again, the most shockingly, bad overcooked Chinese food I've ever had.here is a picture of the ribs - like dried leather

    Pho Tofu and Vegetables

I ordered the Pho Tofu and Vegetables for a late lunch on Sunday. It was so tasty and filling! I left very satisfied. The staff were polite and helpful, and the restaurant was clean. It was overall a great experience! I will go there again soon.

Specifically I asked for silken or regular/raw tofu. This is what I got, however.

All was good, ordered Pho soup and fried rice. We order from this restaurant fairly often and it's always good.

Pros: - Japanese Whisky selection - Bao Buns are amazing - Attentive + Friendly - Parking is easy - Covered patio seating - QR code ordering Side Notes: - Can have a wait - Changed menu (check online) - Check hours (limited) - Multiple TVs What We Got Done: - A lot of Bao Buns - A lot of Whisky, haha - Fries What We Loved: It's a family-owned restaurant, so if it's busy, they make their cocktails to food fresh, so expect a bit of a wait. They tell you to set expectations, so if you are hungry, get a drink. Their cocktails are great! They recently changed their menu to Bao-only, from Search Ahi Bao to a Grilled Veggie Bao. You can add to the bao, such as kimchi, to this extra spicy sauce for a quarter more, but if you love the heat, try it! They also have egg rolls, french fries (super crispy), noodles/rice, and chicken nuggets for drinking food (or for the kids). Their drinks are incredible. They have a lot of Japanese Whisky, so sipping on that or making a custom old-fashioned Topo Chico ice cube they make custom has a different feel. They can make you anything, and the place's vibe is a great spot to enjoy a drink or five with some close friends/family. Also, the family is great. They feel like great friends and welcome you right when you get in. The family there takes care of you, and it's not about a transaction with them; it's about the experience and giving back to the neighborhood of Cedar Park in any way they can. Opportunities To Improve: I don't have any areas to improve, except I wish they had some menu items back! The steak and ribs on the menu were incredible, so I'll surely miss those. However, the Bao Tacos are so good, and the drinks hit the spot; you can likely let the other stuff go. Summary: It is a great place to eat, drink, and watch TV if you want. During the week or as a way to open up the weekend on a FRI night, it's a great spot in Cedar Park. I highly recommend getting some tacos, them FRIES, and an excellent old fashion and chop it up with the owners! Super friendly!

I stepped in, sat down, and pointed at something on the menu that had a picture of glossy, perfect noodles. What arrived... was not that. The noodles were pale, limp, and somehow both soggy and dry at the same time. I took one bite. It tasted like regret. Another bite--worse. There was a strange bitterness, like someone had boiled the concept of disappointment into broth. I waved the server over, but before I could say anything, the lights flickered. Once. Twice. Then everything went dark. When the lights came back on, the restaurant was empty. No customers. No staff. Just me... and the bowl of cursed noodles. A scratching sound echoed from the kitchen. I stood up--because of course I did--and took a few cautious steps forward. The swinging kitchen door creaked open on its own, like it had been waiting for me. Inside, the air smelled... wrong. Earthy. Damp. Ancient. Then something moved. At first I thought it was just a rat. Then I realized it was *far* too big. Then it stood up. "Ah," it said, its voice layered like a chorus of whispers. "The one who tasted the offering." I froze. "The... what?" "The noodles," it said. "A test. And you survived." Before I could respond, the floor beneath me collapsed. -- I woke up in a cavern lit by flickering green fire. Stone pillars carved with writhing rodent shapes surrounded me. In the center stood a towering figure--half rat, half something far older. "The Rat God," it declared, spreading its clawed arms. "Devourer of scraps. King beneath the cities. And now... your opponent." I didn't remember signing up for this. "I just wanted decent noodles," I said. The Rat God hissed. "Then you should have chosen wisely." It lunged. I barely dodged, rolling across the stone floor. My hand hit something--a broken metal ladle. Not exactly a heroic weapon, but I wasn't in a position to be picky. The Rat God struck again, claws carving grooves into the stone. I darted between pillars, heart pounding, trying to think. "Fight," it snarled. "Or be consumed." "Working on it!" I shot back. It charged. At the last second, I leapt aside and slammed the ladle into one of the glowing green flames. The metal flared with eerie light. I didn't question it--I just swung. The ladle connected with the Rat God's side, and it *screeched*, stumbling back. Okay. That worked. Now it was a fight. I ducked, dodged, and struck again, each hit glowing brighter. The cavern shook as the Rat God grew more frantic, more furious. "You are nothing!" it roared. "Yeah?" I said, breathing hard. "I survived your noodles." That seemed to genuinely offend it. With a final, desperate leap, I drove the glowing ladle straight into its chest. There was a blinding flash. Silence. -- I woke up back at my table. The restaurant was normal again. People chatting. Dishes clinking. The server standing beside me. "Everything okay?" they asked. I looked down at my bowl. The noodles looked exactly the same. I pushed it away. "Yeah," I said, standing up. "I'm... not that hungry anymore." As I walked out, I could've sworn I heard a faint voice from the kitchen: "We will meet again..." I didn't look back. Next time, I decided, I was getting takeout from somewhere safer.

Loro is an Asian smokehouse and bar featuring grilled and smoked meats with Southeast Asian and Japanese-inspired sauces, sides, and a bar that boasts craft beer, boozy slushees, and batch cocktails. Parking at this location is a bit of a challenge. They have overflow parking in the back but the spots are really small. We sat at the bar area and worked our way through cocktails, apps, and dessert. We opened a tab and the bar staff takes your order which is convenient, versus how you normally have to order by waiting in line at the bar. The bar staff was extremely busy because they have to make all the cocktails and take the line orders at the bar. They are a master of multitasking. It was $3 martini night on Tuesday, so was excited to sample the four different drink options. lychee martini, Mexican martini, and Lucky Cat cosmo martini. Lychee martini is made with new amsterdam vodka, sake, elderflower, Mexican martini with espolon blanco, olive, yuzu, lime and cosmo with vodka, blood orange, naranja, lime. The lychee was hands down my favorite of the three. We started with the Dip Sampler that included a trifecta of smoked shishito queso, smoked salmon dip and Thai green salsa with the Siete blue corn tortilla chips. We went through the chips quickly and got a second round of wonton chips which I preferred to the Siete chips. Tried the Mango Chamoy frozen Slushee with Siete Chamoy Botana Sauce & Siete Chile Lime Seasoning Rim, passionfruit, Aperol, Sake and Sparkling Wine which was refreshing. All their boozy slushies are $5 during happy hour. Ordered the oak grilled edamame from the happy hour menu and it was a flavor explosion with a dusting of serracha powder, lemon zest and white sesame. For dinner, I ordered my go-to rice bowl with coconut-scented rice, seasonal pickles, thai herbs and steak as the protein. They normally served this with Bavette, but the steak was a bit tough and chewy this time. Finished everything off with cheesecake with five spice crumble, yuzu marmalade for dessert. The vibe at the bar was relaxed and lively without feeling overwhelming, and the collab menu felt creative without trying too hard. The ingredients are very thoughtful for a fully developed flavor profile. Just what I would expect from the culinary minds of Tyson Cole and Aaron Franklin. Definitely one of the regulars in my list when craving good cocktails with a casual but elevated food menu.

For roughly $60 the wife was full and we had roughly 6 dishes and one cocktail (I was still slightly hungry). Think of it as more of a tapas style ordering. Soft shelled crab - My absolute favorite and by far the best dish! Crispy from the breading, soft shell and subtle crab taste, and to top it off the fried egg adds some creaminess from the yolk. Not greasy at all due to the way it's fried. And who doesn't like a little microgreen to add some freshness to it?! It could likely use a little more salt, and this particular time the yolk was a overcooked. Sushi Tacos - 2nd favorite! You get two, and frankly I prefer not sharing these (although my wife forced me to). It's such a unique dish. Each taco is palm sized. They take a yummy piece of laver (seaweed), coat one side and deep fry it to make a nice hard shell taco casing. Then they fill it with sushi rice, top it with plentiful tuna, add a slice of avocado, and top it with micro greens. Refreshing, light (once you squeeze the tiny lime on top), slightly filling due to the rice, and absolutely delicious. Takoyaki - I'm not a fan, but the wife is. For me it's a texture thing. Even when visiting Japan I didn't enjoy this dish. Honestly though I do think it deserves far more bonito flakes, as the dish is meant to look alive from the waving flakes. Honestly we love this place so much, I always get engrossed in the food so much I forget to take pics. The overall ambience is chill and refined, albeit no white tableclothes, but it acts like it should have them. We started by ordering bobba tea and soda (neither of which they had, yet it was still on the menu). So we elected to get mixed cocktails as there is a full bar at this location. I asked for a Hendricks and tonic. While there was tonic, there was no Hendricks. At this point, I felt like there was a pattern starting to emerge that I wouldn't be fond of. Fried Prawns When the prawns were presented, they were battered and not fried. These are two distinct methods of preparation, "battered" means a food item has been coated in a batter (a mixture of flour, liquid, and other ingredients) before frying, while "fried" simply means cooked in hot oil. Needless to say, I wasn't too keen on the panco-style prawn. In addition, the prawn were absent of flavor. Pasta Cambodia I was excited to try this dish as it seemed like an interesting mix of ingredients. I ordered this dish with two types of meats as opposed to one (chicken and beef). The beef for this dish was tough but the rest of the dish seemed to be cooked properly and the flavor profile was balanced. Crab fried rice The rice on this dish was hard. Hard rice is usually caused by not adding enough water when cooking, which prevents the rice grains from absorbing enough moisture to soften properly; essentially, the rice is undercooked due to insufficient liquid. So, it seems that while the beef on the pasta Cambodia was overcooked, the rice in the crab fried was undercooked. I do understand that every spot may have their off days and perhaps this was a day that I caught them on such a day. Swing and a few misses here.
