Had not been here in a while for table service. Customer base seems to be mostly take out. Waited a few minutes to be seated and when that didn't happen I called out to ask if we could seat ourselves. Took about 10 minutes to receive any contact including menus but weren't in a rush. Started with sharing a bowl of hot & sour soup - very tasty and not super spicy. Also ordered a pot of hot tea. Entrees were Mongolian beef and Lo Mein combo with chicken and beef. Portion size has definitely shrunk. All food was served hot and nicely prepared. read more

New to area and I am surprised how many people around here like this spot. Lin's is a decent Chinese restaurant the portions are on the smaller size. Having grown up with an abundance of Chinese Food restaurants in the Midwest we had a vast selection to compare too, and Lin's would just rank as average as far as taste. They know the demographics of their customers, and they don't push themselves to excel in making their food standout. read more

I eat here quite a bit. I absolutely love the "China Town Stir Fry" off the menu. I opt for the Egg Drop Soup and Fried Rice options. Prices are reasonable and generous portions. So this review comes after a shocking second visit. Last week my wife and I tried this place for the first time and had a lunch special each. No complaints honestly. Food got out with decent timing and wasn't bad at all. If I had anything bad to say, it would be that our eggrolls weren't crunchy like they had been previously cooked and just sat afterwards. Now, today we went back thinking we'd get a lunch special like last week but was told that we couldn't today, even tho today falls under their lunch special. But No biggie, we order from other parts of the menu. We get the combination Mongolian plate, potstickers, beef and broccoli, combo lo mein and a seafood dish. Now before we get into flavors let's just state that at this point we've already received mediocre service since the waitress took a long while before even approaching us to do the order but we overlook it. Not that big of a deal. Now to the food... Combo lo mein was fine. Not great, but not bad. Beef and broccoli was good but the broccoli was mushy. Like it may have been overcooked. The Mongolian dish was good. Sauce had good flavor so no complaints there. The seafood dish was FLAVORLESS. As my son said, it was like eating air lol. I fail to understand how a dish with shrimp, scallops, baby corn, water chestnuts, snap peas, mushrooms, carrots, and imitation crab could have no flavor whatsoever. The sauce was flavorless. Not like water but like nothing. Like how does tap water have more flavor? Idk. But it wasn't pleasant. And the potstickers weren't anything special either. I'd hate to believe they were frozen like I believe the eggrolls were. But whatever. So the bill comes and it's rather expensive and if I'm being honest I would think that if I'm paying for family style meals I'd get family style portions but not really. Literally just enough for a decent lunch. Not enough for leftovers which is something I'm kinda used to when dining family style. But here's the kicker... my wife decides that today's service, food, portion size, and pricing wasn't worth a tip. And when I say the waitress chased us outside saying we forgot the tip. And my wife is like no we didn't. And the waitress asks why and my wife is like "I didn't want to. Tips are optional" and at that point the waitress tells us next time we can just get our food to go. Baby... won't be no next time. Your food isn't even worth a next time visit. You want a tip so here it is "DO BETTER" oh here's another one. DONT FOLLOW PEOPLE OUT OF THE ESTABLISHMENT HARRASSING ABOUT A TIP YOU CLEARLY DONT DESERVE. Tips are OPTIONAL and based on our experience in your establishment. And our experience wasn't worth a tip. Stop being entitled and do better. Earn your tip. Ensure a pleasant experience and great food and you won't have to worry about somebody not tipping you. read more

I just moved to Georgetown after 10 years in Bee Cave. I might as well have moved to Canada... That is, until I started trying local restaurants. Lin's Cafe offers fantastic Chinese food at reasonable prices. Their Mushu Pork was excellent, and their Mongolian Beef is now among my favorites. read more

This has been our go to Chinese food in G'town. My wife loves the pad Thai and I like to experiment with different choices. The best I've had so far is the Mixed Lo Mein. It has a good combo of different meats (chicken, beef, and shrimp) mixed with a few veggies and lo Mein noodles. The letdown here is the lack of spiciness. Every time I order spicy, it's pretty bland. Besides that, the orders are always ready when I get there and stay hot all the way home. lins cafe was super cute! the ambiance is super simple and pretty basic, but clean and very warm. the service was great! fast, friendly, welcoming and the food all came out in a very quick amount of time. i got the hot n sour soup bowl and it was a very large portion, the crab rangoons were very filling and very creamy. we also got the chicken hunan and the kung pao chicken, GREAT portion sizes and delicious food for a pretty decent price. would come back again! read more

I'm going to be as nice as possible. The service is absolutely unacceptable. I cannot believe the way they treated my family . At the start they were being kind but then they started lacking. Unbelievable. The food was bland. No taste at all. And it's so expensive. Not worth the amount of food that was put on my plate. With the amount I paid, I'd expect way more than what I got. I recommend you "get it for to go instead of eating here" as said by one of the workers. As I was paying, the workers were staring at me from the table across from me. Then as I leave out of this place, one worker stops me and says "you forgot to write a tip down on the bill" honey... no I did not. Because nothing there is worth a tip. Wife and I were looking for some great food near us at the time, and we discovered this place. I'm really glad we did, because the meal I had was great. After ordering hot and sour soup, and egg rolls the both of us chowed down on some of their Pad Thai. I gotta say using lemon instead of lime is ballsy but it surprisingly works. After eating here on a Friday night, I ended up leaving with one question: "How in the world was this place not busy?" I really enjoyed myself tonight at Lin's Cafe Asian Cuisine. Went there an hour before close. We were the only ones in there. The wait staff was very nice. Everything we ordered came out very quickly and hot. The prices are also affordable! Compared to some other places I've seen with the same kind of food. Easy to miss, little hole in the wall joint nestled next to Randall's. But honestly, I've noticed those little "hole in the wall" joints tend to be the best! Husband and I both ordered veggie spring rolls, 2 soups, and 2 veggie pad thai. We were happy with everything! Sometimes they get it, sometimes they don't. Ordered take away on Friday. Paid extra for fried rice and when I got home there was no rice at all. I thought the chow mein was greasy and a little on the rancid smelling side but hubby has a super sniffer and heightened tastebuds and he really liked it. To each his own I guess. Had general tso's also and they were very large pieces of chicken breast. Moist and tasty. But huge not bite sized like you expect. I placed the order online and they did call but I have an out of state phone number to make sure I had placed the order at the right place. So that was good. The soup is about as bland as you can get, couldn't even fix it. :/ I also got the kung pao combination plate for $14.99, but asked for no shrimp (still wanted beef and chicken) instead I get only chicken. If I wanted kung pao chicken, I would've saved $3 and ordered it. Now the portion is quite sizeable, but the flavor is not here, AT ALL. I'm 3 soy sauce deep and it's still so bland. I have no heartburn with the food since I always get it delivered so I know what I am getting. My concern is TIPPING. While placing my order I am always asked if I want to add a TIP. Unfortunately, these folks have no idea of what a TIP is for. They expect a tip just for doing their job and nothing else EVEN BEFORE THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED in my case. We were excited to try Lin's based on the 4 star rating. We ordered Thai basil chicken and chicken pad Thai. Unfortunately the chicken in both dishes was chewy and very odd. The flavor was good, but the texture of the chicken was very off putting. Maybe just a bad night, but it was bad enough that we won't be able to give it another chance. Standard Americanized Chinese fare - overcooked, and too salty or too sweet depending on what u get. It's also very loud inside if there r other diners. The place has a clanging echo when others laugh or talk loud. Couldn't hear my partner across the table most of the time. I will always choose PhoEver Diner next door before this place. read more

I went for lunch with my grandson and was well pleased. I like spicey food. So when ordered the Gen. Tso's extra, extra spicy. This was fantastic; not only was the sauce the right consistency, it was spiced perfectly. And yes, it was spicy. In reality, this should be a 4.5 because the authentic recipe used dark meat chicken. Visited Lin's Cafe yesterday. It was so good. We both got the egg drop soup with crispy noodles. The Soup was perfect. I added an egg roll and it was fresh and crispy on the outside with fresh veggies on the inside. Hubby got the Moo Goo Gai Pan with fried rice and he ate every bite. I got the Vegetable Delight with fried rice and it was fresh and tasty and didn't need a thing. We really enjoyed our lunch and we will be back and highly recommend. read more

This place is decent for for cheap-ish Chinese pickup. Nothing to write home about, but it'll pass when you need fried rice and chicken.

Chose this cafe today at an off hour and they were busier than I expected. We were seated immediately and the service was great despite being nearly full. You could really tell the hustle of the staff so that gets stars for sure. The menu options were varied and more than sufficient. I tried Kung Pao Trio and my wife had Shrimp pad tai, both were good. The dining area was modern and what you would expect from a strip mall restaurant. We would go back and try other menu items. read more

About two weeks ago my wife and I finally decided to try Lin's Asian Cafe in Georgetown. Lin's was convenient and had been mentioned frequently on Next Door. What a disappointment. All aspect of the dishes we chose were the worst representation of Chinese cuisine, or any other Asian cuisine, that we had ever experienced. Oily and tasteless are the terms that come to mind.
