I didn't get a chance to order this time(family emergency); but when I called in to place an order during lunch the guy that answered the phone was extremely polite and helpful. He was apologetic when explaining that they were no longer doing "Lunch Specials" If I'm ever in the area again, I will def come back. I really want to try that spicy crispy chickennnnnnn.

Really enjoyed the food. I ordered the bbq pork buns and dragon wontons and pineapple chicken fried rice and it was delicious. I will be coming again next time we are in town. I would have post a full picture of the food but we ate it

I am surprised that I have not left a review here. I used to come often for take out and this was my second time dining in here. Service: we were greeted and seated immediately in a booth. They came right away to take our drink order. They were helpful in clarifying some menu items. Food: they have a bunch of items to choose from. I went with the house crispy spicy chicken. Very tasty. I asked them to make it more spicier. It made it a tiny bit spicier, but it's ok since it's hard to find places that can deliver the amount of spice I like. Still had a good taste. The hot and sour soup was tasty. Overall, the food was good. I had no complaints on my visit. Their prices are a bit higher compared to other Chinese food establishments. This place got packed while I was dining so they must be doing something good.

Conveniently located on I-35 in Round Rock next to Sprouts. I love coming to this spot once in a while. They have good selection of Chinese food. This time I ordered Kung Pao Chicken which comes with rice. First they served us fried wonton strips as a welcome snack/appetizers. I love them as it reminds me of back home when we'll eat them as snacks. My Kung Pao Chicken had carrots, onions, and celery with peanuts. It was delicious. The service is good here. It's not overbearing and non existent like some places.

I ordered hot and sour pork soup. I had never had hot and sour soup with meat. Portions were generous, ingredients fresh, and the food arrived smoking hot. The noodles were soft, smooth and flavorful. The pork inside looked like tiny meatballs. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the restaurant was completely full and customers were continuing to flow in. Because the restaurant is rather small, I had to wait about 20 minutes for my order. Jim, one of the owners, said if I had ordered 3 items it would take about 45 minutes, that's why I went with one. You could easily tell that many folks at the restaurant were regulars, which means the food, service or both were exceptional. Definitely will be returning to Three Gorges...

Family…read morestyle, big portions at a good price point. - Cumin Lamb: A heaping pile of thinly sliced lamb that is tender mixed in with cumin seeds, sichuan peppercorns, fresh cilantro, and red chilis. The cumin seeds give it that signature earthy, aromatic flavor and you get a slight tingly numbing spice sensation from the chilis and peppercorn. The lamb is not overly gamey, but it still does taste like lamb so if you are not really a lamb fan, I'd choose something else. - Jumping Fish: A very popular dish! Tender white fish fillets that is so soft it melts in your mouth. It is in a flavorful oil and broth that is refreshing from the fresh jalapenos. It is a savory dish, yet still relatively mild. It commes with napa cabbage as well! This was my favorite dish and I loved the flavor combined with the white rice. - Mapo Tofu (Vegetarian): They have one with pork as well, but I got the vegetarian version. Silky soft tofu cubes in that signature mapo tofu sauce and numbing peppercorns. Despite the appearance of all the dishes, none of them were very spicy. Overall, a comforting soft, spicy, savory dish with a slight tingle. - Eggplant in garlic sauce: A deliciously sweet and umami garlic sauce. The eggplants could have been a bit more cooked through in my opinion though since it was still quite firm. I loved it still! Note that all the dishes to me were not spicy just had an underlying subtle spice or tingle (like a finishing flavor note if you will). Also, since it is sichuan the dishes are on the oilier side. You order with the cashier at the front and pay up front as well. Food comes out quickly. It is a small space with three rows of tables (maybe around 12-15 tables give or take), so it does fill up fast. I went at around 5:40 PM on a Thursday and there was no wait, but by the time we finished eating at around 7PM, the restaurant was full. House of Three Gorges was hyped up a lot on my social media feed and through word of mouth, so I came in with high expectations. Luckily, they did not disappoint.

First time here. We've been on the hunt for all of the live crawfish, Asian Cajun style in Austin…read more I found out about Mala Chili via a Foodie FB group I'm in. So here we are. We arrived around 7:40p Saturday evening and this spot is bumpin busy and very lively. The outdoor patio was even packed. We were so lucky as a walk-in party of 2, a table was being cleaned so we were able to be seated quickly. Our server brought us each a tablet to order our food. I ordered the cucumber salad and general tso chicken with fried rice. My man ordered 2 lbs of live mala style crawfish $18 per pound (min 2# per order) with 5 shrimp. He also ordered the sesame chicken dish. Our food came out within 10 minutes, super fast. The crawfish took a little bit longer because I believe they make it fresh. Here's where it gets interesting. My man said his mouth was tingling and his tongue felt funny and when he took a drink of his tea it tasted super weird. Come to find out, the crawfish mala sauce has Szechuan peppercorn which has a numbing tingling effect to your tongue and mouth. We did not know this before we ordered. So He thought he was having an allergic reaction to something. We asked our server and she explained a traditional mala seasoning. I highly recommend that this is listed on the menu item as a forewarning to those that have never had the Mala live crawfish here before. Sadly, there were a lot of crawfish wasted tonight because He wasn't able to eat them all That seasoning just did not agree with his mouth or taste buds at all. :( But....The general tso and sesame chicken dishes were tasty! Another call out, We both ordered ice tea at the beginning and it came out pretty quickly, But no one returned to our table during our time here to offer refills or to check in on us after everything was delivered. I understand the restaurant was busy when we arrived but it slowed down while we were there. We may return to this location if we are in the area to try other dishes but unfortunately, he is unable to eat the live crawfish due to that one seasoning. Everyone was super friendly and I recommend trying the restaurant if you haven't before it.

The entry area and interior of the restaurant are clean and colorfully decorated. We were seated immediately and beverage orders were taken and delivered promptly. We asked for extra time to look over the menu before ordering. There is a wide assortment, even on the lunch menu. Prices are very reasonable (less than $15) given the quality and amount of food. Included in lunch are choice of soup (corn, hot and sour, egg drop, and wonton), egg roll, fried or steamed rice, and the main course. My friend and I both chose wonton soup and shrimp entrées. The soup was rather salty. The entrées we ordered were very good, with my friend's Kung Pao shrimp on the spicy side. There was no skimping on the amount of shrimp! Our waitperson regularly checked in and refilled our water glasses. There's no doubt that we will return the next time we want Chinese food.
