Finally found a pho place I can finally call my current favorite go to in Austin area. This place was recommended by my neighbor and I'm glad he did! I ordered the Pho Tai (noodles and brisket) as well as the Chicken Vermicelli. The pho noodle is as close as Bay Area as you can get. It's packed with flavor and is super delicious. There's something about the broth that brings back memories of San Francisco. The vermicelli sports a generous portion of greens, noodles and soft tender chicken which I liked. However the noodles were a bit off. Some would say firm, but I want to describe the noodles as... rigid. It's not as soft and warm as I would like. Pouring the fish sauce on it improved the flavor as always but it didn't improve the noodle texture. All in all I would come back again. If you would like to dine in, make sure you arrive an hour maybe 45 minutes before closing. We arrived 30 min prior but they only offered take out at the point. read more

This is the best place for pho. The rare steak is my favorite. Staff is always friendly and attentive, even when super busy. The place is small, but I'm hoping they can expand eventually. I'm embarrassed to say how often we eat here. read more

I went here after shopping one day trying to find a good pho restaurant for my Tik Tok review! I'm from Dallas and also lived in Houston for awhile so as a fellow Vietnamese in Austin now I would love to vouch for this restaurant! You can tell the workers have a good relationship with the regulars because I went back 3 more times and they remembered me. I will be bringing all my friends here as well because I've tried both the rice plate and the pho and both were as good as Dallas pho/rice plates! This is without a doubt, my favorite Pho restaurant in the area. I've been ordering takeout from them for several years now. Whenever I start feeling a little sickish, their Chicken Pho is my Go To. I don't know what it is, but there's something magical in their Pho that boosts my immune system and gets me back on track! Thank you, Pho Hoang!! Since COVID, I've been ordering more meals from Pho Hoang and have been consistently pleased with the food, even when I was feeling adventurous and ordered something totally new to me. In addition to their Pho, I usually order their Egg Rolls, a Vermicelli and a fried rice, with whatever protein I'm craving. Their Charcoal-broiled Pork is awesome, and I like the Thinly Shredded Broiled Pork, too. They also offer a Crawfish Fried Rice, which sounded a bit odd to me, but I was very pleasantly surprised that those ingredients made a really good meal! Really good pho. The ambiance isn't much kinda weird that it has coffee/tea shop art and there are shelves with Cafe DuPont coffee cans all around. The staff do bear minimum in customer service. I think I would do to go orders mostly because the pho was very good. Only been once so I need to go again to try other dishes. read more

In all honesty, I've tried many authentic Vietnamese pho locations all the way to Houston and this one is by far the BEST in the Austin area. The broth is always consistent, tasty and full of spices. The noodles are always cooked to perfection, the atmosphere is very warm and inviting as well. I've never had a bad experience here, the charbroiled pork plate/vermicelli bowls are also delicious... Presentation was good. When I walked in my table was a bit dirty, but nothing extreme food is great. I had shrimp spring rolls with beef a combination pho and a chai tea service was really fast I had my food on my table in less than three minutes food tasted great. I have had better Pho. We ordered chicken pho. The broth tasted like normal chicken broth, couldn't taste the anise or other ingredients that make pho broth stand out against chicken stock/broth. The serving of meat was rather small for an order up charged as a large. The bean sprouts were soggy from being stored in a warm bag. I love pho and enjoy eating it as a comfort food. If it tasted like the pho that I ordered here I would no longer enjoy it as much. read more

Horrible service and the pho was mediocre. The pho lacked any airomatics, such as star anise, and was extremely bland. The broth color fooled me into thinking it would be deep and flavorful, but instead it tasted more like bland Costco bone broth. For herbs, they didn't even give us actual cilantro -- just a tiny punch of what I thought to be chopped up cilantro STEMS (what??) without any flavor. Also, the tendons were undercooked, and thus very hard and chewy. In terms of service, we ordered cooked bean sprouts and a salted lemonade. The bean sprouts came out mostly raw and the salted lemonade never made it (although they still attempted to charge us). When we asked again, we just got a whole lot of attitude and confusion. Overall, bad service/confused staff, horrible food, and way way over priced. read more

We have not been to this restaurant. Pandemic & all. But, we have ordered food to be delivered many times. They are our favorite delivery food and we order nearly every week. The food is always fresh, plentiful, and a perfect temperature. They will make substitutions, which is not always the case with other restaurants. Dined in at the spot a couple of times. Always great service and good food. Majority of recent orders have been delivery through apps. I just want to give the restaurant props for always making sure the order is correct and taking care of whatever is in the notes. It's easy to request more condiments or items to make pho reach that perfect taste when dining in and terrible when the order does not come with the items to get it there on delivery. These guys get it right each time. read more

I love finding hidden, authentic gems outside of central Austin. As much as I love Austin for its love of ethnic fusions and new American tastes, sometimes, you just need a good homemade feel. We ordered the Pho Tai (Vietnamese noodles with sliced beef), and a side of Egg Rolls. Perfect, delicious, exceptional. This place is the best! I visited this establishment the day before Thanksgiving. When my party arrived, we were greeted promptly. We ordered one small chicken Pho and two large Pho (one chicken and one shrimp). The Pho was delivered in under 15 minutes and was both hot and flavorful. The food served here is authentic. My family and I use to really love this place, but the last few times we ordered we were highly disappointed. Which is sad because I use to praise this restaurant to everyone, especially on Social Media, they were our go to for Pho. I just don't know what changed. The service is super fast and friendly, portion size is huge especially for the price, it's just the taste of the food is so bland now and the charbroil pork was dry. My wife had a small bowl of beef and noodles, tasty, I tried a dish with vermicelli and pork and pieces of fried egg roll, it had salad on the bottom layer, then the noodles, then the pieces of pork and egg roll with crushed peanuts and bean sprouts, poured a small bowl of fish sauce over it with some pepper sauce and stirred and let the party in my mouth get started. Remember this number: 37. #37 is the one and only thing I ever order on my countless visits here, mainly because #37 is freaky delicious and I really don't care to try anything else they have on the menu. In fact, I don't even think I like pho. Maybe the pho is good here, but I wouldn't know, because #37 is the char-broiled chicken and egg roll vermicelli bowl. Here's a fact for you: Did you know that "vermicelli" is an Italian word which means "little worms"? So make sure you keep that in mind as you eat the #37 bowl of mouthwatering little worm rice noodles with delectable chicken and a chopped up egg roll. read more

I have always liked this place but when I first started to come here in 2007 they only accepted cash only. Now they accept cards. Not sure when they made that transition. They are back on my radar now. Parking/location: They are located in the same building as Sprint. Parking can be tricky during peak times (lunch). I like coming here for lunch since you can seat yourself and service comes quick. They are ready to take your order pretty quickly. The food (pho) came out quick too! I appreciate that they realize we are on a lunch break from work so they are quick to provide service and the food comes out quickly. It's kinda cute the employees all have Pho Hoang polo shirts that they wear I have had their chicken pho and crushed rice plate with pork chop. Both are good and tasty. I will keep coming here. They have a UT student discount if you show your ID, which is a nice bonus. You order at the counter and self serve your own water and drinks, so everything feels quick and casual. The vibes are very nice and aesthetic, clean and modern without feeling too busy.
