We had a party of 6 and they were able to squeeze us in. All the food was excellent. We had a ribeye and lamb! The lamb was amazing and very flavorful! The wine was very reasonably priced, I thought the food was a bit pricey though. Service was great! The only thing that I didn't love was the ambiance. The food was great, and the service was exceptional, I eat at the bar and the server. (Cinnamon) was extremely not just for me for all at the bar, knowledgeable and a kickass worker - she was pumping out the drinks. But when it came time to this one or that one she was on her game. The manager was also very good too he had to dig in the bodega for the wine I ordered. My comment would be the food kept up with the service because the service here was extraordinary spectacular. Best restaurant in town IMO. My husband and I usually come in once or twice a month. I do the local greens and chicken parm and my husband does clam chowder and the American Kobe rib eye. They're always excellent. Great wine and whiskey list too. Kenny is the best server we've had, by far, I'd say. He is wonderful. But the service is never worse than "good". read more

We visit Bend about once a year and we always make a stop at Brickhouse, because the food and service are consistently wonderful. We ate here last night and got the same waiter we had last time, which was Todd. We found him to be attentive, personal, and clearly loves what he does and prides himself on providing excellent service. We both had the filet ... the temp on it was perfect, and the cuts at Brickhouse are always flavorful and tender. The atmosphere at this restaurant is also so cozy and unique, as it used to be a firehouse before it was converted into a restaurant. When we dined here two evenings ago the experience was fabulous: Attentive service and dishes befitting a high-end, high-priced restaurant. I gave it a favorable review on Substack. But on a return visit this evening we got a sat at a booth in a far corner beyond the view of servers, always a mistake, will never let this happen again, anywhere. The result, sadly, was a dismal experience. There are many other good dining options in this town where meals are just as good, if not better, and service is exemplary. So choose carefully. I'm a good tipper but what I give is commensurate with the service I receive, which in this case descended in scale. We ate an amazing dinner at Brickhouse last night! Since we didn't have reservations we sat at the bar and the bartender was our server. I had the Huckleberry Lemon Drop cocktail and it was wonderful. We split the lobster and steak dinner. The steak was cooked to perfection. My husband loved the lobster with drawn butter. Good bye ol friend... Ending a 15year relationship because of ineptness, irresponsibility, arrogance, & a unwillingness to maintain the 4 star standard. The current GM isn't to blame, he's a very personable gentleman, courteous, & helpful. It's the culture thats lacking as well as a lack of skilled cooks. How can a steakhouse not know how to cook a steak? Cooks who dont know the difference between rare & medium well. How does a chef let that leave the kitchen? Even worse how is it acceptable to take a plate that blood has run all over everything, "refry" the same steak and return it? I've eaten all over the whole and NEVER was that the answer. Morton's would of never done that. My last four visits have had similar outcomes. What happen to GM from 2016 and previous years?? Came to the Brickhouse for dinner last night. The food was amazing and the staff were all so friendly. They've put up some protective panes in between the booths so we felt nice and separated from other diners. Great ambiance and it was the first time since March that I felt even a little normal at a restaurant. Such a treat! We ordered the scollops and fillet tips as an appetizer, the halibut and salmon dishes (which were both specials) and the 6oz bacon wrapped fillet for entrees and all kinds of desserts to celebrate two birthdays. The entire meal was incredible! Perfect cooks on all the food and so well flavored! Will definitely be back for dinner but with seats at the bar and a couple outdoor tables, this would be a great spot for fancy cocktails too! read more

One of the rare instances when the extraordinary quality of the steaks justifies the exorbitant cost. These were some of the best steaks ever. The pepper-crusted strip steak and the filet were outstanding. Note that the steaks come with choice of potato and a little veg (we had broccolini and carrot). We missed that on the menu and ordered asparagus that we didn't need. Oops. The service was friendly, though our server didn't check on us the whole time after our food was served. It also took nearly 10 minutes to get the dessert menu. Fortunately we were happy, and she did apologize for being scarce, and we could've flagged someone down if needed. So it was ok -- it's just the sort of thing that detracts a bit from the experience. But I'm confident this is an exception. We would recommend Brickhouse Bend without hesitation. If you're in the mood for a wonderfully high-quality steak dinner, make a reservation asap. read more

We have been going to the Brickhouse for a decade now and still find it to be consistent with good quality food and a great staff. Good selection of appetizers with our go to favorite the Peppered Filet Tips. That and a salad makes a great light dinner. The cocktails are always good and the bartenders are always willing to personalize your drink the way you like it. We were in Bend and tried the Brickhouse for the first time. I first noticed the inviting ambiance and the energy in the room as we entered the restaurant for our reservation. The hostess was welcoming and seated up promptly. Our server came to our table very friendly and introduced herself as Emily. We ordered Martinis to start made perfectly as Emily offered to open the bottle of wine we brought for our birthdays to breath until we asked her to pour it. Our salads were promptly served with a basket fresh crusty bread. The salads were top end, the Rough River blue cheese dressing and excellent. My wife ordered the 17 ounce ribeye steak medium rare and I ordered the peppered 16 oz New York charred rare plus, both with a baked potato. The table was pre-bussed and the wine Was poured. Shortly after our entrees were delivered and the presentation was impressive with perfectly cooked des haricots verts. Our steaks were boiled in their open displayed brick wood burning oven just as we ordered them. I was also impressed that this chef understands how a baked potato is supposed to be cooked and served; not very offten these days. I couldn't help myself from going to the open display kitchen and complimenting the chef and giving him a tip to share with his team. We had a party of four on a Saturday night without a reservation. Surprisingly we got a table with not wait. Our waitress was very friendly and gave us excellent suggestions for drinks. Two people at the table orders the prime rib. Both slices came out exactly to the requested specifications and were delicious. The pork belly carbonara was very good. The serving sizes are large so we ordered the fresh chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream to go. The vanilla ice cream was delicious and the cookies were nice and soft. read more

The evening special New Zealand lamb was nicely seasoned and cooked to the proper temperature. The seafood pasta had plenty of tender seafood (I hate when seafood is overcooked and rubbery, definitely not the case for this dish.) and just the right amount of garlic. My wife has to get well done steak because she's pregnant, and her steak was much closer to medium. And her baked potato was cold, as was my mashed potatoes and short rib. Fabulous! We came here for my father's birthday and everything was phenomenal. We started with the roasted Brie & garlic which was divine. I also had a cup of the clam chowder which was excellent, very creamy and the clams were nice and tender (not tough or too chewy like some chowders I've had). For my main course I ordered the seafood pasta which was also fantastic. This is an upscale restaurant and the prices accurately reflect the quality you're receiving.
