    Pear and burrata salad
    Jessica H.

Parking is rough but we found a spot on our next circle through. The waitress was very patient with all my questions about gluten. My menu had "gf" crossed out for the fish and chips. They changed the recipe so now they're beer bartered and no longer gluten free. You are limited to a few appetizers and salads. I tried the steak tartare and it's not great. It was my first time so I'm not sure how it compares to other places. One friend said it had a strong sesame oil flavor? The ahi poke was fine. I did like my salad- pear and burrata. The pomegranate molasses and cheese and pears were nice together. Overall, I wouldn't go here again as a gf person. The men at my table got the crab cake benny and the Nashville fish sandwich and they were very happy with their food!

My partner and I went during Happy Hour on a Tuesday and it was so good! Walking in, it feels elevated and rustic. Very nice vibes. I loved the open windows on the other side of the room but the side we were on was nice and quiet. Food and drinks wrre incredible!! The chef's special bread and butter were really good and the appetizer board had such a good variety of items. The selection of wine was also great and I chose a Syrah! My partner had the Kentucky Buck, the Oaxacan Old Fashioned, and the Watermelon Julep and every one of them was so good! Our server was very nice and professional. I appreciated that she was knowlegable and checked in frequently. Definetly had great customer service! We had other wait staff check in on us as well and were also very friendly. While we were finishing up, I texted my family group chat that they needed to visit here ASAP!

We had such a wonderful dinner here. As soon as I walked in, I love the open bright, modern decor, and the servers and staff are all very friendly. They have the best happy hour food options. From the happy hour menu, we got the diverse scallops, chicken wings, and the Ahi Poke tostadas. Chicken wings came with delicious Sriracha sauce. The poke tostada was perfect with fresh tuna creamy sauce and a crisp tostada shell. It only comes with one so I would get multiple to share . From the dinner menu, we got the carrot hummus, which was so deliciously surprisingly amazing for being carrot based - it was one of my fave dishes of the night . Wish I could buy this hummus all the time ! The fresh catch of the day was a halibut. It was a good portion, perfectly cooked very tender, and we loved the unique twist of it coming on top of a crisp potato latke. Overall, great meal would come back for lunch or dinner anytime !

Had a wonderful dinner last night in Bend with my family! The atmosphere is lovely, lots of windows with natural sunlight and the decorations & accents matching the nautical theme. The food was absolutely amazing, I think with our group we got to try a little of everything, which I'm grateful for. To start, for appetizers we had the house made bread and the peach and burrata salad, the small details really added to the food with the nuts on the salad and even the bread&butter was something special. Then for mains we tried the fish and chips, scallops paired with the risotto, and the crab cake paired with the carrots. I can honestly say everything was so good, the crab cake, scallops, and even fish and chips were some of the best we've had, and the sides of risotto and carrots are both a must try!! (My family said they were the best carrots they've had.) It was my mom's birthday and the staff and everything about the night was wonderful. Thank you Bradon and we can't wait to come back next time!

What an unexpected delicious spot to enjoy and dinner! Loved the decor and vibe walking in. The restaurant is loud-but we were able to get a two top that is tucked away Our servers were so welcoming and quick! Started with martinis and. Peach Burrata Salad. Moves on to wine and a lamb burger and the lobster risotto Both solid choices-the lamb burger was a bit "saucy" and the bun fell apart due to the extra sauce. The risotto was very flavorful with large chinch's of lobster.

Hidden in plain sight. Excellent service, quality meal! We've visited Hook&Plow several times now for a variety of reasons, girls night, happy hour, family in town, date night, etc. and have consistently had a great experience! The oysters are well shucked, the drinks are great and the menu changes to reflect the latest trends. We went last night and had the lobster risotto, steak, oysters and spicy margaritas. The food was excellent but the service is really what sets this place to five stars. We did have a slight hiccup with cook on one of our meals and not only did our server take the feedback with grace she proactively comped the item and made sure the replacement dish came out quick. Really a masterclass in customer service and something a lot of places are missing. Hook&Plow is somewhat hidden in the apartment complex but don't miss out. It is primarily a fish restaurant so also keep that in mind. Local tip, if you go to Viaggio before and grab a bottle there is no corkage charge.

I went to get the gluten free fish and chips but unfortunately it had been discontinued. I pivoted and got the salmon salad it was one of the best i have had. The crispy skin and charged veggies mixed with a yummy saffron balsamic was very unexpected and delicious. The staff is very nice and helpful. If i am ever back in bend i will definitely be back!!

    Vegetarian salmon?

Some of the best food we had in Bend, but very slow service. There appeared to be only one waiter for the entire restaurant, it was over an hour between being seated and getting our food. Also, the menu needs a review. How is a salmon salad vegetarian? Why is the bread not marked as vegetarian?

A great addition to the Bend food scene! Good happy hour prices and delicious food!! Their oysters are fantastic!! Stoller wine at happy hour is only $7.00 a glass and the oysters are $2.00 each!! The atmosphere is relaxing and the service is superb!! I will definitely be back!

Peach buratta salad with diver scallops.

Staff was very friendly. Love the open air concept and beautiful decor. Happy hour is throughout the bar and restaurant. Your choice of lemon, cucumber or plain water. Gluten free fish and chips were delicious. My peach and burrata salad with the addition of diver scallops was awesome! Many gluten free options on the menu. Nice place away from the usual touristy areas.

Got there on a Thursday evening, having traveled from Portland and hiking at Smith Rock State Perk. We did not have reservations, but the hostess was gracious enough to find us a spot at the bar. We started with a dozen oysters and everything about them were good. Next we had the roasted pear and burrata salad. Always open to trying something new, this was a different taste. When combined with the burrata, it was a good taste The surprise of the night was the "Fresh off the Hook" pan roasted halibut with ricotta gnocchi, mushrooms and dashi broth. The halibut was cocked to perfection. The gnocchi was creamy and melted in your mouth. However. The dashi broth completely made the dish. Everything combined together was excellent For dessert we had the bread pudding. The outside was crispy, the inside soft and moist, and it was excellent. We had a really nice evening. The staff were gracious and attentive, there was nothing negative about our experience I would definitely come back at any time of day to try this place again.

Steak, asked for medium rare but got well done
    Hendrick S.

Disappointed with the food as I ordered the steak and potato, medium rare. And I got something well done. Let the server know, but I still ate it. Not going to wait for a re-cook. There is another review saying the same thing about ordering a medium rare and getting a well done steak, so there may be something going on. Lovely interior decor, big windows. Staff were friendly.

What a great spot to end off our trip to Bend! We went here for dinner on a whim, and it was a great choice. The space was light and airy, coastal vibes. The service was great, our server was so attentive. Our glasses of water was never not full! The Oysters tasted fresh, but I've had better ones, especially at this price point. The Clam Chowder is a MUST, one of the best I've had. Better than on the coast! The H&P Burger was great, can't go wrong with it. The Fish N Chips were good, but it wasn't anything special. The NY Strip Steak was tender, and the sauce was like a salsa verde which paired well with the meat. The sides were also well seasoned.

The menu isn't very large and I think we both settled on choices quickly, deciding to try the most "quintessential" entrees to share. I chose the Blackened Redfish, and my boyfriend the Jambalaya. Even though we had already decided, the waitress went on her whole spiel through the menu highlights, including what we had already had planned to order. Awkward, but it was fine, and we didn't stray from our original choices. The Blackened Redfish was perfectly cooked and flaky. It was served on a bed of mashed potatoes with a slightly tangy sauce. All of it was tasty, but I was a bit disappointed in the lack of spice to the blackening seasoning and the sauce. Also, serving it on grits instead of mashed potatoes would have made it feel 100% more Cajun, even with lack of seasoning. The Jambalaya fared a bit better, although my boyfriend was also left puzzled by the lack of spice to this classic dish. In all ways it was a very good representation of New Orleans style red jambalaya, with the andouille sausage being particularly notable for flavor. The cornbread it came with was pretty good. We shared a piece of chocolate cake for dessert. A very decadent concoction of chocolate, peanut butter, and caramel. It was one of the better $12 slices of cake I've had. Overall? The service was good, if not a bit awkward with the menu spiel. The food was all very well prepared, but for a Cajun style restaurant they sure could stand to spice things up a bit. It's not cheap, but at least the entrees are a full sized meal and you don't have to order many "tiny plates" to cobble together a dinner.

I started eating at The Drake in their first week of business and had many, many, many meals there over the years but things change and so, it seems, has the popularity of The Drake. I ordered a dirty martini and the French Onion Soup. Both were great. The soup was loaded with Gruyère, which I loved. It was rich and wasn't overwhelming with the onions. It hit the spot on this cold (to the Californian) night. The bartender recommended I try the Wagyu ribeye and I figured why not? So, I got the Blackened Wagyu Ribeye. It came with mashed potatoes and roasted veggies which were both really tasty. I like mashed potatoes, but I'm not crazy about them, but these were really good. The steak was huge and they cooked it perfectly. The blackening seasoning wasn't quite as flavorful as I am used to, but it was still good. I managed to get through the cap of the ribeye and that was delicious. I also had a glass of wine with my steak that the bartender helped me pick. Everything was really tasty, the restaurant was clean and upscale looking, and the people working there were very nice. It was the perfect way to spoil myself after transporting my foster kitten to Spokane and then driving back to California. I would definitely return if I make a trip through Bend again.
