Two days after Christmas, we celebrated two family member birthdays at Famille. It was wonderful. There were 9 of us and the service was excellent. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food and we appreciated the wide range of menu items that met the needs of our varied diets. Even the 2 year old loved his mac and cheese. [Be aware, they don't have high chairs.] The best part of all, I have a hobby of rating expresso martini's all across the world. I've rated 33 so far. And much to my surprise, Famille made #1 on the list! They beat out London, Kenya, Yosemite, Canada, Italy, Switzerland and more. Delicious food, good wine list, nice ambiance. No notes. Will recommend to anyone passing through or staying in Sisters.

First visit - opening week. The bar remodel is stunning. The dining room feels much lighter, and less crowded. The hostess was fantastic - some great strategizing to ensure a relaxing time at the bar, while still having a reserved table for dinner. This was a meal of starters (one of my favorite ways to check out a menu): the grilled Romaine salad was fantastic, the crab cakes were lovely (I would really love to know the recipe for the remoulade- super yumm). Both the steamer clams and the tuna stack are sizable - great for sharing. The wait staff in the dining room were personable and attentive. This is intended to be a space that can go from day to night and I could easily see savoring a coffee here in the morning or meeting friends for happy hour. Only negative was some pacing issues re timing for drinks when we were at the bar. However, given how much it takes to launch a restaurant, and that this was opening week, I think that is something that will likely be worked out. Look forward to coming back and trying out other parts of the menu. read more

The cocktails my husband and I had were excellent!! He had the Blanco Bliss and it was very refreshing and tasty. If you like spicy cocktails, I had a haberno infused vodka with passion fruit that I really enjoyed. Our food was also excellent!! I can highly recommend the Beet Burrata Salad, Ribeye, and Sautéed Mushrooms! Looking at photos online, the atmosphere didn't grab me but in person the lounge was very cozy and inviting. Tried the new restaurant in town & wasn't impressed with their food. It was our anniversary, so we decided to try something different. Let's start with the positive: The truffle fries & grilled Caesar salad were tasty. I was pleasantly surprised that the wine was not as pricy as reported. I chose a Malbec that was delicious! I was impressed with our server. A mistake was made, she owned it & apologized. Very classy! We ordered the tomahawk steak. At $98, it seemed like a really good choice to share. It was enormous! However, wasn't cooked properly. We ordered it medium rare & it was definitely rare in places. It was not cooked evenly at all. We'll flip a coin & see if we'll be back. read more

This is for the main dining area. The staff were great and top shelf. The menu on the other hand needs some love big time. The poke app needs to be cut in half size wise, remove the weird purple tuna and replace with normal red tuna and mixed with seaweed salad or something. I would rework the entire Poke dish. More tuna and less wantons. Pineapple isn't necessary but some wasabi or hot sauce and ginger would be sweet. The place has potential but I seriously would take another look at the menu. Great ordering options by name but the delivery might be off. The Tuna main dish was also a let down and nothing special. This place deserves to be full but If I was the owner I would hire someone to rework the menu big time. What a great location but for the cost I wont be exploring the menu any further based off this experience. No one wants to complain face to face to the staff and come off as rude but I thought this might generate some ideas for the owner and team. read more

We truly enjoyed our dinner, and the experience was made exceptional by our waiter, who was outstanding. He was warm, attentive, and clearly takes great pride in his work. His level of service made us feel genuinely welcomed and well cared for throughout the evening. The filet mignon was delicious and cooked beautifully, and the cheesecake was a perfect way to end the meal. While I was a bit unsure about having two types of potatoes with my entrée and found the mashed potatoes slightly less warm than expected, it was a very minor detail in an otherwise lovely experience. I didn't mention it at the time, as the service was so excellent that it never detracted from our enjoyment. Overall, a wonderful evening with exceptional service, and we left feeling very pleased. I've been to Famille several times and it's always been fantastic, but our last visit was 3/5, and hopefully not a bad sign. First, it was a birthday dinner with friends traveling in and I was assured the birthday would be noted on the reservation. Nope. Second, the bread for the bruschetta was bad as was the bread for the shrimp pasta. Third, the caprese was 50% tomato ends. Never seen that before. Fourth, $2 charge for ketchup to go with our bowl of fries. Not extra ketchup, just any ketchup. I'm paying more than $400 for dinner so this type of up charge is crazy. We had our first dinner at Famille this week and enjoyed the evening. My wife and I shared the tuna poke bowl which was large even for 2 and excellent. I ordered the crab appetizer for my main, my wife ordered the halibut. The crab was large crab cakes, with a quite spicy remoulade dressing. Having lived in NOLA, I was disappointed. The halibut was sadly overcooked and dry, sad for the price point. We brought our own wine, with a reasonable $25 corkage. Service was very good, albeit without any real apology or discount for my wife's half eaten halibut. Dining room was large, pretty quiet, and bland as discussed elsewhere. read more

Food is not good. Was served bad fish last week...or at least the halibut was going bad. You could smell the order even cooked on the plate. How can a chef miss this? The sauce served with the fish was very substandard. Our ceasear salad that we order was almost something out of a bag/kit you buy in a grocery store. Nothing special at all. Even asked the server the deal and even said the chef it was the last order of the prior shipment.... There menu is too expansive for things to keep/stay fresh. Very suspect since my wife is and executive chef and could not believe it. My risotto was dry, not creamy and generally not good. Truly hope the restaurant/chef get it together. I'm shocked this place doesn't have high reviews. We went there tonight for the first time and everything from the ambiance to the service to the food/cocktails was top notch. Our server was fantastic! I had a million questions about the menu and he was so knowledgeable able to answer all my questions and was super friendly about it. He was extremely attentive through out the whole meal but not intrusive at all. I love mezcal and the mezcal cocktail was the perfect blend of spirit forward and delicious flavor. You can tell they have spent a lot of time curating the cocktails. For food we got the poke app which was a meal in itself. Nicely balanced flavors. Entrees the Halibut which BF said was some of the best he had in any restaurant it was cooked to perfection which was wonderful as halibut is often overcooked. I had a delicious large salad with super fresh ingredients and yummy home made dressing. The decor of the spot was very inviting and they had a super cute lounge area too! Great spot for date night, group dinner or girls night. Definitely ask for a table near the wood fireplace!! read more

This review is for Le Bar, which probably should have a separate listing on Yelp since it is a somewhat distinct space with its own hours and purpose. Came in for breakfast and coffee. The hot breakfast items are pre-made and heated on demand, but as a result the prices are reasonable (for Sisters) and you probably couldn't tell if you weren't watching. We had the brisket breakfast burritos, great flavor and no shortage of brisket. Our espresso drinks were on point, and again fairly priced. The vibe is very trendy by Sisters standards, frankly a needed shakeup from the log cabin/western aesthetic that most restaurants go with. Wouldn't be surprised to see some complaints about it from long timers, but the younger crowd will appreciate it. All in Le Bar looks like it will be a nice hangout option for coffee or drinks. I have waiting on putting our review until I watch others review. I'm thinking the owners must have a lot of friends in town or people in Sisters lack culinary knowledge. As far as the visual New remodel, the bar is a joke. I felt like I was in a teenagers bedroom or that IKEA made a bad choice on some furniture and decided to liquidate. My cocktails quality was questionable and we waited at least 20 minutes to get the cocktail. The bar was not busy and nor was the restaurant at this point in the evening. We had a reservation and made our way into the restaurant side The restaurant lacked any decorations. The walls are without any art or decoration. The furniture is uncomfortable and I felt like I was eating in a high school cafeteria. When it came time to order appetizers and our dinners I had questions regarding a few things on the menu with regards to the preparation of the food, our waitress had absolutely no idea it took her over 15 minutes to get back to us with the information, which then come to find out was incorrect information. My husband ordered the pork chop off the menu and when it arrived, cut into the pork chop it was raw and it was cold. My dinner was overly salty and came incomplete and had to wait for the rest of the dinner to arrive. There is nothing spectacular or special or unique about this new restaurant and I'm very disappointed. I was hoping that somebody in this town could create a restaurant that knew how to cook and prep good food. It doesn't have to be fancy food, but it needs to be cooked with consistency and be cooked correctly. The restaurant was loud and very smoky. I believed nothing other than the meat products and the salads are prepared fresh. I feel like everything came from Cisco, premade and was then reheated. I know others that have gone and ate dinner there and they're experience was the same as ours they were overcharged, they were under served and had to leave before finishing their dinner because the smoke in the restaurant was so severe their eyes were burning and they had trouble breathing. I wish them luck, but I think that building might be cursed. read more

We went here last night specifically for two dishes: the bleu cheese stuffed hamburger and the mushroom risotto, both listed on their menu online still. When we arrived, both items were not on the paper menu, and we asked if they were available. We were told both had been removed just that day. Very disappointed. Was hoping for a comfy and cool lounge experience. Instead it was cold and uncomfortable. Plastic chairs you might find in a preschool art class greeted us. That being said, the bartender was friendly and made a decent cocktail. Some of the entrees served to us in the stark and smoky dining room were undercooked or over seasoned. The clams were sent back due do them swimming in a bath of salt and slime. However, my porkchop came out of the kitchen cooked perfectly. Just very inconsistent and amature like. So happy to see this new restaurant in our town! Excellent service and nice menu. Portions are very generous and many can be shared. The filet was cooked perfectly and was delicious. The crab cake starter was wonderful. Heads up for wine drinkers, the by the glass and bottle prices are very high, so may want to bring your own bottle. Corkage fee is only $25. We will return. I support all locally owned and businesses in Central Oregon, especially in Sisters. I live in Central Oregon and wanted to see this place succeeded. Unfortunately the service was bad and the food was worse. I ordered the Poke. I'm not sure what I got but it wasn't Poke. It looked like canned tuna mix that was shaped into cubes to mimic Poke. Needles to say it was horrible, I took one bite just to try and figure out what they were serving me. Adding insult to injury they would not remove the fake or as they would probably call it, faux Poke, from the bill. I left speechless. Trying to pass CANNED TUNA as Poke. Who does that. We came to the sisters area for several days on vacation . We arrived on a Monday and most of the restaurants were actually closed for dinner . We decided to try this restaurant after we read the reviews . We had an amazing dinner! My husband had the huge Burger with fries . He said it was the best burger you ever had amazing flavor . I had the Radicchio salad with the pork chops and yams . Most tender and juicy pork chops I have ever had !. We topped it off with A Slice of Cheesecake that we split with fruit sauce. Great customer service from our waiter , very attentive and friendly . Would definitely go there again! read more

good food great service. a little expensive - meals do not include any sides, no vegetables, no bread either. that said nearly everything we had was good. the steak was fabulous the cauliflower was superb. the pistachio crusted halibut we rather bland though and the French onion soup was way too salty. the drinks were delicious, but the wine list was very very small! it's a new place so I'll bet it grows with the local traffic. read more

We had drinks at the bar before dinner and it was such a beautiful place with unique drinks as well as favorites. We moved to dinner on the porch where our server, Sky, provided recommendations and was so friendly and warm. My husband and I had steak that was cooked to perfection, and our table shared the corn soufflé (so light and delicious), mac n' cheese ( so creamy), garlic mashed potatoes, and radicchio salad. The four of us agreed it was an amazing experience and even better than expected. Highly recommend both the bar and the restaurant. Can't wait to go back! read more

Service staff was wonderful but the food was not good. The halibut was dry and lacked any flavor, the smoked ribs tough and difficult to chew. Very disappointing experience. I've had much better food at a Quick Mart. The halibut smelled fishy, tasted fishy and was mushy. I expected it to be fresh, light, flakey, & flavorful, not like a bargain bin fish stick from the discount frozen food section at a grocery store. Broccoli was like trying to chew on a rubber band. 20 minutes waiting on desert and then our server tried to take it away before we were finished and did take away our drinks before we were finished. The interior appears stark and cold. Contemporary yes, but not inviting. One restroom seems like it will underserve a bar and restaurant. Our server was very nice but spread thin. The steak and steak salad were very good and cooked just right. The wine list is weak listing only one choice for Cabernet by the bottle and while it is excellent wine, listed at $330. My wife and I made reservations at Famille, the new restraunt in town, and had a wonderful culinary experience. First, we liked the openness of the dining area with lots of natural lighting and very soft music playing in the background. Claire, our server, was engaging and knowledgeable about the menu items, wine list, and cocktails. One of the wishes I've had since moving to Sisters was for our city to have a high end restraunt in town that could put us on the culinary map. We'll, that may have just happened! Yes, the wine by the glass is pricy ($20 for a Justin Merlot), yes the menu items are up there, too. However, the portions are huge, delicious, and shareable leaving us wanting to come back to try other menu options. All the dishes we ordered we shared starting with the zesty heirloom tomato brochetta and steamer clams swimming in a delicate garlic wine broth. A perfect appetizer pairing of amazing flavors. My only request to the chef was to remove any clams that didn't open before serving (5 were closed). Next was the beet salad which had NO dressing on it allowing us to enjoy the natural flavors of the spring greens, beets, toasted almonds, and the in-house made wedge of mozzarella cheese topping it all off. It was a salad that made me realize how much flavor is masked when a dressing is added to your salad! Next came the mushroom rissoto cooked al dente with a rich creamy parm sauce and a variety of different mushrooms! My only request to the chef for this dish was that they count and then remove the bay leaves they use as to avoid any issues when eating ( we had 1 leaf in our serving). Our protien ordered was the wild caught halibut which was fresh not frozen ( I specifically asked). It was juicy, flaky, and pan fried served on brocolini spears with a delicate dill sauce that tasted good on anything dipped into it. Nothing came to our table over salted, which I've experienced in some of the Bend restarunts before. We ended the meal with a scrumptious orange cream brûlée garnished with a candied orange slice and raspberry compote. I Know this will be out of some people's price range for a regular place to eat, but if you share the huge portions and limit your glasses of wine and cocktails, its doable. Famille should absolutely be considered as a special occasion fine dining option as well. We will be back and welcome Famille to our Sisters' famille! read more

A new restaurant in Sisters, OR with a full restaurant and cafe bar attached--they make a smoked brisket burrito with grilled peppers and onions, scrambled eggs and two cheeses. it's toasted perfectly in an oven and is the most delicious breakfast burrito we've ever had. we split one for the two of us. $12! I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. The hostess was so accommodating & squeezed us in for dinner. Our server, Claire, was just darling and bent over backwards to find us the perfect wine for our meal. We both had the pan seared halibut.....delicious! My wife and went to dinner at Famille this evening for our 38 anniversary. We were hoping for something that compared to Chops Bistro, the prior restaurant which we enjoyed. In our opinion, the review by Lee C. is very accurate with our experience. The atmosphere and furniture is more like a high school or college cafeteria. Matt our server was great, however, as I noted on the receipt, "the food not so much". We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer, and they were ok, not great. My wife ordered the sesame salmon salad and the French onion soup for her main course and a glass of wine. I ordered the ribeye (medium) and green beans. The salad came with very dry and stale smoked salmon. It was sent back as she expected a salmon filet and not smoked salmon. She then ordered the gnocchi instead. The gnocchi was nothing special, cooked in butter and topped with parmesan cheese with a bland flavor. The french onion soup was good. The wine was terrible with a bad smell, so she did not drink it. My ribeye came and it was well done. It was sent back and the second steak was raw. It was sent back as well. Please note, I never send food back. But this was just not acceptable for what you are paying for what is supposed to be good food. I did notice the couple next us. He ordered a steak as well, and I noticed he had cut around most of the steak. At least half of the steak was left on his plate in pieces when the server came and asked if they were done. He politely said yes and she asked if he would like a box for the rest of his steak. He politely said no thank you. My thought was why would I want to bring home all the gristle I had to cut around. Rumors have it the owners of the ski inn restaurant next door purchased it. I hope they get things figured out in the future. For us, we will not be returning. read more

We are long time residents of sisters and we were excited to try this new restaurant in town. It was an extreme disappointment and one of the worst dinners we have had in recent memory. The service was extremely slow beginning with the bar where we were not served at all and had to walk up to the bar to order the food was mediocre and very expensive and the wine list was off the charts in terms of prices . The entire meal was disappointing and I would not recommend this restaurant until they figure it out read more
