This was our second visit to Lakeside Bistro at Black Butte Ranch, and it reminded us why we came back. We enjoyed it the first time, but this visit really confirmed that it's one of our favorite places to eat when we're here. The lakeside setting is beautiful and relaxing, and the restaurant itself is much larger than it appears from the outside. Even when it's busy, it never feels crowded or rushed. Between the six of us, we ordered the chili verde, Mandarin chicken salad, Margherita pizza, BBR BLTA, cheeseburger, and turkey sandwich. Everyone genuinely enjoyed their meal. In fact, there wasn't a single dish that drew anything less than an enthusiastic thumbs up from around the table. One thing I like about Lakeside Bistro is that it's more than just a restaurant. There's a small market and gift shop connected to the dining area, so it's fun to wander around a bit before heading out. They also serve espresso drinks, which made for a nice pick-me-up for the drive back. Will we be back? Without question. Good food, good friends, and a beautiful view over the lake is a winning combination. We were coming from Suttle Lake after a hike and were looking for a place to eat. Our friend Cheri recommended we try Lakeside Bistro at Black Butte Ranch. Our friends Cheri and Dave were up first to order. They started off with a large Chocolate Chip cookie as they ordered their lunch. Cheri had a Garden Burger with French Fries. Dave ordered the BBR BLTA sandwich. Bacon , Lettuce, Tomatoe, Avacado spread grilled on Rosemary bread. My wife had a Garden Burger and I had the Bistro Double Cheese. We both had Sweet Potato tots. Everyone was satisfied with their meal. Our order was messed up. With 2 separate orders , they were supposed to come out all at once. My wife and my order didn't come out at all. We waited at least 15 mins when My wife went to find out what happened to our food. After some confusion the counter person went back to the kitchen and had the grill person make our order. The seating outside with a beautiful view on a nice late summer afternoon made up for the kitchen fiasco. read more

We stopped in on a weekend night with a group of 12 and had a great meal. You line up to order at the counter and then grab a seat outside. There are tons of drink options (in the fridges) and a full bar. The view by the water is fantastic. We ordered a few large pizzas for the kids which were all completely eaten. The adults got a few different entrees and enjoyed them all. The Italian grinder with tots was really good. My friend who ordered the ribs loved them. The mac-n-cheese was good too. The only downside is that you are paying for the convenience of the location. Our bill got high pretty quickly and we also ordered a few bottles of wine as well. Overall would recommend having a meal here while you stay in the area. The view is awesome and the staff were very helpful and nice. We also ordered over a dozen drinks during the day from the outside window while at the pool and all the drinks were good. We also ordered a few pizzas pool side for the kids too. read more

We come to Black Butte Ranch for 19 years now. Since they open new pool and bistro it is a big pleasure to come here. Staff is always friendly. Food is very good for the price they offer. We love Black Butte and really enjoy lunch at Lakeside Bistro. read more

Great Cubano sandwich and super crispy fries. You order at the counter and find a seat somewhere with super duper fantastic views across a lake to the Three Sisters and mountain range. The fire pits outside were going and the ambiance was excellent on this sunny afternoon. read more

I took a friend who is gluten free and has a low tolerance for spicy food to Lakeside Bistro for lunch. She was excited to order a Margherita pizza with the cauliflower crust. Very disappointing. The crust was burnt at the edges, not the coveted leopard crust, just burnt. Served with appetizer plates that wouldn't begin to accommodate a slice of pizza. And the sauce was very spicy, too spicy for her to eat. We snagged the manager and mentioned our concern. She shrugged them off. Margherita pizza is not normally spicy and burnt crust is always unacceptable. A reputable restaurant would have comped the meal and offered an alternative. read more

It was lunch time, we were exploring Black Butte Ranch and decided to try Lakeside Bistro. When we walked in we were a little confused because half of the bistro is a tourist gift shop. We quickly realized that it was an order at the counter type of restaurant. My wife enjoys BLTs so she ordered a BBR BLTA. I ordered a Fried Chicken Sandwich. It was a cold and windy day, so we took a table inside with a great view of the lake. We could see a small herd of elk grazing in the meadow across the lake. I am searching for the best fried chicken sandwich; but, for now, this one was the best that I can get Black Butte Ranch - Sisters - Bend area. We will probably go back a do more exploring of Black Butte Ranch before winter arrives and enjoy another lunch at Lakeside Bistro, hopefully, outside on the patio. read more

Great lil breakfast spot with friendly staff. I ordered the avocado toast.. domes basic but it's definitely not and it's ohhh so delicious! Great spot! Great for coffee, glass of wine, if you have kids they make a terrific pizza after a day of swimming in the beautiful pool. Had breakfast today and it was outstanding! The Southwest omelette was delicious and the green salsa on it was amazing. I inquired as to where they got it and they said the chef makes it from scratch. We had breakfast there a few weeks ago and the avocado toast was also amazing. We had a most spectacular breakfast here in the winter, came back for drinks after snowshoeing another day, and stopped for afternoon refreshments in May with a large group of family from out of town. Tasty spot for breakfast at Black Butte Ranch. Pros: Their hash brown dish is out of this world (and I'm usually all about the sweet stuff for breakfast). They also have a delicious pastry with mocha chocolate and candied walnuts. The waffle was really tasty too. Cons: The berry scone we had lacked flavor and the flavored lattes were way too sweet (half the syrup would have done the trick). It's not a quick place for food - you can wait awhile and there's no way to call ahead since there isn't cell service...But the service is friendly and the view is stunning, so it works out :) It was too chilly to eat outside when we were there, but the windows inside allowed us to still take in the view. read more

What an epic little find for myself!! This place is surrounded by beauty and a contemporary mountain chic structure with amazing food and service. All of the staff were super friendly and provided great suggestions and really good food. There was a nice vibe with well to do locals that seemed down to earth and other grateful travelers and tourists just taking it all in. There were many comfortable chairs, couches and tables to catch up on email, have a work meeting or to just read a book. There was also a cozy gas fireplace taking the chill off on a cool fall morning. The Tennessee chicken sandwich was highly recommended to me and it was even better than expected. This is a very pretty, sunny and open bistro with AMAZING views of the mountains. The view and the nice atmosphere were worth the visit and they are the reason I am giving this restaurant 4 stars. The food is okay. I had the tuna melt and a cup of beer cheese soup. The tuna melt was very vinegary, but the pumpernickel was cooked perfectly. I had to eat the sandwich with a fork because there was so much liquid. The menu is small and there are not a lot of options I am interested in. The soup was okay, but nothing special. W thought his hamburger was good, but not great. We will return for the serene atmosphere and the beautiful views. read more

I dined here on Thursday, July 20 with friends. Service was fine in ordering, food delivery was slow to come. the restaurant was almost empty, and alol tables had their food. I ordered the Korean pork sandwich. This probably was the saddest example of pulled pork I've ever had. extremely dry tiny little shreds of pork that had nothing Korean about them. This was placed on a dry bun with a tablespoon of coleslaw on the top, which had no chance of helping the dryness of the pork. I have eaten at this restaurant many times, and can say it was a huge disappointment for me. My companions meals were fine. A standard burger and the other the fried chicken sandwich. read more

take out fruit parfait had one piece of fruit- a strawberry buried in the bowl with the stem left on! Jam mixed into whipped cream and granola with very little actual yogurt. all jumbled together. Awful. Latte was not quality coffee. Pass on this place unless you want only the view. read more

Good thing we called ahead...when I googled the Lakeside Bistro it came up as Closed today. Always a wonderful place to dine. If you're dining there for the first time it would be helpful if the staff gave a crash course in how their establishment works. It's between a self serve and table service thing. We saw this place on yelp as we were driving into Bend and were hungry. The pictures and reviews were spot on. I would add that the staff were great and the views were to die for. My husband has the special wagyu burger and I had the chicken on a stick. Both were fabulous!! It is part of the Black Butte resort community. I would go back if it was on my next journey. Rude managment! Went in with our dog, was going to order our drinks and food then sit outside, which we informed the manager of that. The manager went on and said "I know, we can't have dogs in the restaurant." She did not give us an option of how to order since they do not do table side, bar tendered politely offered for us to go around the pool area and order from the window. As we were walking out to order outside we heard the management say, "I don't think they allow dogs over there either". We simple left and went somewhere else.
