Fresh, colorful, beautifully plated food with true options for everyone (vegetarian/vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, fish, meat). Beet salad was incredible, plus great appetizers (scallops/Brussels sprouts) and family-style entrées for our group. The venue is gorgeous and full of meaningful art (including the owner/artist's work). The standout was the hospitality-Sharon (founder), Rhonda, and the team were warm, present, and genuinely engaged with us. If you're in Sisters or nearby, do not miss The Open Door.

I also ordered the $3 baguette and a mocktail for $10. The pasta dish was a massive disappointment. I had to search for the chicken such was the limited amount in the dish. There was a minimal amount of cherry tomatoes. The supposed "white wine blue cheese sauce" was missing from the pasta also. There was no Parmesan Reggiano cheese offered at the onset or freshly ground pepper. Perhaps The Open Door is not that kind of culinary experience. I rarely complain when I visit restaurants as I try to do my due diligence before I go. I spoke with the waitress, manager and one other lady who came by to check on me. I was told they could bring me some more tomatoes, etc. However, the dish should have contained sufficient ingredients to warrant its description which it didn't. Pasta is one of the cheapest mainstays in the restaurant business, but The Open Door's pasta dish took this to a whole new low. As for the baguette, I was given four tiny half slices of bread and not a baguette. In hindsight, I would have been better served going to the Sisters Smokehouse and Deli and ordering their Tri-Tip Sandwich - which is delicious BTW- than wasting my $ here at The Open Door.

The burger was probably the highlight of the meal. Mine was a little more done than I prefer, but it was still very good. The beet salad was enjoyable, though not particularly memorable. The mussels were okay, but several were chewier than I'd expect. The biggest disappointment was the wild mushrooms. I was expecting something that would showcase the variety and flavor of wild mushrooms. Instead, the texture and taste reminded me of the canned mushrooms I grew up eating as a kid. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. We passed on dessert and left feeling a little underwhelmed given the prices and the setting. Would we come back? Probably not. I'd suggest checking out their website as well, it shares their personality of this restaurant. We visited on a Tuesday night shortly after they opened. The place was busy, full of happy people, and the energy was great. We sat at the bar and patiently waited for the staff--understandably busy with a full house. The service was wonderful, and the drinks were fantastic. We ordered the shrimp tacos, and they were delicious--definitely worth it! I also really appreciate that they support local vendors, like Sisters Smoke House and Sisters Bakery. We had a great experience and will definitely be back!

I ended up going to The Gallery a few blocks down and was treated with immaculate service and kindness, which made me feel right at home there. Every server in the space checked on me at least once to make sure I had everything I needed at every moment. Definitely cannot say that about the service I received at the ski Inn. I was treated like a subpar citizen. Won't be back.

However, I was lucky and my friend was picking up the tab.
