I went here with my partner and his family on our way through Sisters. We saw how highly rated it was and knew we had to go. It definitely lives up to the hype! When you arrive, you take a menu from the counter and decide what you want before ordering at the counter. Once you order you are given a beeper and pick your own table to sit at. They'll bring you your food but the rest is on you - utensils, water, and bussing are all your job. Our food came in about 15-20 minutes. I got the Himalayan burger and the mango lassi. One other person in our group got the burger, two got the chicken curry, and one got the chau chau. One also got a hot chai. Everyone loved their food! It was so flavorful and well-spiced without being overpowering. It was all so juicy and tender. I got my burger without any toppings and it was so good. It was the perfect amount of food and we were all full afterwards. The people working here are nice and work quickly. The restaurant is pretty clean but the bathrooms could use some love and a deep clean. There is plenty of parking on both sides of the restaurant and it's pretty easy to get in and out of. This is definitely the place to go to if you're going through Sisters and need a bite to eat. All five of us highly recommend it!

We chose to go to this restaurant because of the good ratings and it did not disappoint!! There was a nice selection of beer. There were a few options for wine as well. The menu had an excellent variety and the food was brought out when ready so it was piping hot and so flavorful. Each plate was delicious including the samosa and the drunken noodles. The service was friendly and very present. Quiet atmosphere -- besides my screaming kids Thank you for a delicious meal.

Came in for boba after a hot hike - stayed for chai, beer and Momos instead. Iced chai - excellent. Not overly sweet. Good black tea and spices. Cardamom was present but not overbearing. Cloves warm and nice. Just a smooth, good cup of chai. Wheat beer - light, clean and refreshing. Solid wheat beer (forget full name) Vegetarian Momo - not actually on menu but I like momos and my boyfriend asked if they had a veggie version and sure enough they had made some that day for themselves and served us a plate of them. Delicious. Dumpling dough was nice and fluffy. Filled with tofu, veggies and rice noodles - they had a great texture. A lot of mixed flavors and held together nicely. Cooked all the way through. Just pleasant, light all around good Momos. The 2 people working (I assume owners) very thoughtful and awesome as well! Hope to be back again!

Food prepared with love and a welcoming environment, too. This has become my favorite restaurant to visit when I'm in Sisters.

Overrated. Good was meh. Server had no personality and was unconcerned with his customers overall.

He sweats and pushes us to order and eat fast, doing that waiter thing when they pretend they are not rushing you. "Just checking if you need that plate taken away." Not fooling anyone. Brusque to my brother who is into fine wines and requested tastes of some by-the-glass wines before committing to a glass or a bottle. My wife stated she is uncomfortable around the server. We don't go to the Open Door much now. Old review. A real romantic spot. Great drinks. My wife loves it. Sitting outside is best but the bar is good too. Some nights they put tables in the art gallery out front and you sit around the paintings and jewelry, kind of fun. There used to be a waitress named Kristen or Kirsten, a lady with long hair and clogs, the best server I've ever had and I don't just mean in Central Oregon. The Open Door is the probably the best dining experience in Sisters. Living in Tumalo and working throughout Oregon, I go to Sisters often. Unfortunately Sisters isn't a great town for food. The Open Door has some very-good food, and some pretty-good food. You never know which it's going to be. The halibut, meatballs, and lasagnas are solid. Berries and cream dessert is great. The menu doesn't change much over the years. If my wife didn't love it I wouldn't go back so often. Get bored eating the same dishes over and over. When my brother and his grown kids visit they like the atmosphere, especially those small houses outside with the plants. However they have trouble finding a selection that works for their way of eating, allergies, one is vegan and one is lactose intolerant.

This time, it was on the eve of the famous Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show, so the beer garden was full of lively sewists enjoying some brews and live music. They had a couple of food trucks on-site, too, although the lines were long so I just enjoyed a beer (or two) and went on my merry way. The staff here were friendly, and the beer-on-tap selection, while not huge, had plenty of variety and I was able to find a nice, cold amber ale that I enjoyed immensely in the warm summer hear. The service was wonderful, and the drinks were fantastic. We ordered the shrimp tacos, and they were delicious--definitely worth it!
