This has to be the best coffee in Oregon. Thier lattes either hot or cold are amazing. Thier pastries and everything are just the best. Well worth the stop.

Vanilla latte

Great customer service, super friendly. Perfect vanilla latte. Cozy spot to get some coffee and meet up with friends.

Cardamom latte and almond croissant

Amazing coffee!! I am so glad they have CARDAMOM!! My absolutely favorite. I wanted to try all the coffees they had. And all the freshly baked pastries in the case. The coffee is literally perfect. No words. The croissants were buttery and delicious. The staff is soooo nice. Struck up conversation even when helping guests. Coffee comes out pretty quick. Expect a bit of a line here. There is usually indoor and outdoor seating open as well. Super clean. Cannot wait to come back.

Really good matcha latte! The barista recommended adding honey which made it the perfect lightened sweetness. Normally I get matcha iced but this hot matcha might have swayed me to get it hot in the future. Cute spacious interior seating.

I like their branding

This was the earliest opening coffee shop in Bend, we got there right at 6 AM and they were ready to caffeinate us STAT. My latte was fabulous, and my man loved the drip coffee that he ordered. They had a gigantic stack of fresh crispy pastries that I somehow managed not to indulge in. Would definitely return.

Beautiful place to escape the heat

Great coffee and are definite favorite when we are visiting the area for our annual summer trips. they always have some interesting house made syrups and add-ons for their drinks. We always appreciate trying something new and something something interesting so be adventurous because it might be the place to be. Great equipment is great coffee and great people putting it together so you really get a winner of a drink for the standard drink price. these days coffees are always gonna be crazy expensive. You have to realize that. The best thing you can do is to find the spot with the best product because the price is gonna be the same across-the-board.. So do you do diligence check your reviews and I think that this might be the place for you to drop the money for a nice place to relax for a few minutes or get out of the rain depending on what year it is. Super spot ans I hope you enjoy it.

Had a delicious iced latte and the jalepeno cheddar bagel with cream cheese was sooo good!! I will definitely be back!

Great coffee shop in downtown Bend! Great drink and pastry selection. Baristas are super friendly. A muffin and small coffee were 8$ so a bit expensive but worth it. The muffin was good, blueberries tasted very fresh. Not the best I have ever had though. Coffee was great. I got the lighter roast and really enjoyed it. Ambiance is great in here, chill music and lots of cozy seating.

Madagascar vanilla mocha, blueberry scone and Danish lemon blueberry pastry.

First the Danish lemon blueberry pastry is heaven on earth! The Madagascar Vanilla Mocha was smooth and just sweet enough. The ambiance feels very cozy I could spend all day here. The service was fast even with a line of people at the door.

Spicy Mayan Mocha

Thump is the iconic Bend coffee house. Beautiful in its simplicity. Plenty of seating from the window bar, to the 2-person tables, to the coffee bar seating. And there's bonus seating in the foyer area of the building. Enjoyed a spicy Mayan mocha while mellow music played overhead. Making for a nice vibe. Baristas were friendly and outgoing. And you gotta love the coffee art. They also sell their own beans, mugs, tumblers, tea, matcha, chai, Italian soda another related item.

Yummy

What a great find! Awesome atmosphere, service and coffee! I had a latte ( extra hot) and my husband had a spicy mocha. Both delicious!! We will be back!

As coffee lovers all, we made an effort to try a bunch of different roasteries while visiting Bend. As it turned out (we didn't initially notice), Thump Coffee ended up being the beans that many other coffee shops use, so it was fun to visit one of their physical locations one morning. This location is in Downtown Bend and in a really cool area around an alley with outdoor cafes, restaurants, an art cinema, and brewery/wine tasting room. You could start and enjoy a good chunk of a day right here. The morning we visited, it was busy, with every table full of people either working or just enjoying their breakfast. The two baristas were both immediately friendly and welcoming, asking what we'd like. They had overflow seating in the shared building's atrium, so we sat there to enjoy our coffee and breakfast. I had a savory scone and iced black coffee - this was probably my favorite cup of the trip; roasty, bitter, and delicious. If you're a coffee fan and visiting Bend, this is a cafe you need to check out.

Iced Vanilla Latte

Stopped in for a coffee and a pastry and had an incredible iced vanilla latte and the best everything bagel EVER!!! They are so nice and informative! Love every thump location in bend!

Great customer service and the baristas are very friendly. The pumpkin spice latte is the best! It tastes like I'm drinking a pumpkin pie.

Always a delightful repose from the hustle and bustle. The Belgian mocha and the chia are lovely paired with a lemon delight (if available).

We came here for a weekend lunch, ordered baguette sandwiches, coffees, and a hazelnut cookie. All were delicious and they had lots to choose from! We enjoyed walking around afterwards, as the area is perfect for a small outing and shopping. Lots of available free parking as well. We'll be back!

I heard from everyone to try an Ocean Roll from Sparrow, but I've had Scandinavian cardamon based…read moretreats before and I know I don't enjoy that flavor profile. I looked around for something similar, but less the cardamon and came across Cafe des Chutes. We visited at 9 am on a Sunday and it wasn't too crowded at all, with only a single person ahead. They have plenty of seating and I think most people decide to eat their treats in the cafe; we had to hit the trail though, so we got ours to go to eat while hiking. Mango Sticky Rice Honey Glazed Croissant ($6.25) - Woah, this is an exceptionally sticky pastry, so sticky it's actually a little cumbersome to eat since the glaze spreads on any surface it touches and becomes very difficult to remove. The glaze tastes just like fresh honey - in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it were mostly honey. There's not much mango flavor until closer to the center, along with another flavor of something very fragrant almost flowery They sprinkle coconut flakes on top, giving a somewhat fruity flavor. The croissant itself is very good - great crust, nicely flaky and crisp with a great texture on the interior, chewy and airy. The lamination seems to be good based on a cursory inspection, but I didn't have a sharp bread knife on me for a clean cut as I usually do. The pastry is very sweet and the glaze covers up the flavor of the croissant entirely. (5/5) Oregon Roll ($6.25) - This base, on the other hand, is really buttery, combining the great lamination, crispy and flaky, with great flavor. There's a fantastic honeycomb texture on the inside combined with the perfect chewiness. They do add a marionberry swirl on the interior, which is pretty obviously included in terms of color, but can't really be tasted on top of the croissant butteriness. On top, they spread a spiced hazelnut glaze, sweet and nutty, almost like peanut butter in texture mixed with butter. Delicious pastry overall. (5/5) Savory Bread Pudding ($10) - This is a super dense and heavy (in weight) bread pudding baked in a muffin mold. They offer to heat it up and it's a really good idea to eat this warmed. We opted to get it cold since we weren't going to eat it for a couple of hours (for a picnic lunch) and it basically wasn't edible, with super dense, bitter and stale tasting bread, making it hard to even stick a fork into the top. We ended up waiting until we got to the hotel room to heat it up the next morning for breakfast, which made it much more palatable. There's some mushroom essence with tons of black pepper and a dense yet pleasingly chewy bread. Cheese is baked on top and there's a little vegetal bitterness from spinach. Not rating this since we ate it the next day. Overall I enjoyed my treats from Cafe des Chutes. I would visit again the next time I'm in Bend. Bathrooms - Tiny room near the front. The water heater takes up some of the space inside, so it's quite warm in the room

Watershed is my go to, close to home, love it, cozy place…read more I feel warmed and welcomed here. I'm excited to be here, every time I come. They pump out drinks like it's easy and second nature, but I know it's a skilled craft. No matter how busy they are, it's always speedy. The indoor seating looks like you would never get an open seat, but the little inside tables up close to the pickup window are never occupied long, and there always seems to be a bigger table of 4 open. The backyard is where it's at! Although don't get me wrong on the inside too, it'll grab you with old cozy mill house adhock, general craftsman vibes and leave you wanting to stay awhile, sit a spell and come again and again just to enjoy the vibe. It's super cramped inside at the order line, but people are courteous and make a way for you to get through. The center post kinda makes a dividing line that causes there to be an in, and an out line. So it's like it's much bigger really, and much more organized than it may at first seem. The bathroom can be a bit of a wait, in the mix of things, but the drinks and ambiance by the river are well worth it. The bathroom is clean, well maintained and cozy as well. It's well decorated. With curtains on the inner window, and bathroom spray. And multiple mirrors to chose from. I mention the bathroom because this is often a very neglected place in both cleanliness and decorum by many businesses, but not here. Step outside with your drink, or while you wait. And you'll be greeted with the best ambiance and river views you can find. Views of mirror pond, the old historic white steeple in the distance, the pretty houses and the calm of the pond. A view you probably noticed through the old pained windows when you came in, and moved through the light crowd to get to your seat, or the order window to the left. Plenty of room to find a seat at one of the many tables and chairs, and just generally have your own space. There are some picnic tables to choose from too. The drinks are superb, I always hear rave reviews from those I bring, or go with, as to their smoothies. Their coffee was always a fine escape of flavors and aromas in years past when I still drank coffee. Daily rotating roasts and globally sourced beans to choose from. I personally get the matcha here, and it just satisfies beyond measure. Filling the palate with a rich, creamy foam of the milk, without the "foam" present when you get down into the drink. It's like the top foam just never goes away. It's a palate pleaser, for sure!! I am amazed that they do an iced or hot oat milk matcha just as well as one, or the other. Each satisfies with that sweet oaty richness to soothe and fill the palate and the senses. In my book of matchas, this is the best matcha in Central Oregon!! Ps. it comes pre-sweetened, I used to get it as a shy scoop with cinnamon powder so it wasn't as sweet. But I grew into the sweetness and just get it standard now with cinnamon. I love that it's rich and not overpowering. It doesn't leave your mouth dry from the sweetness. The drinks aren't too hot when they come out of the window, so they won't burn you. They're baby bear just right. Come to this little haunt, and enjoy a stay and a drink. You won't regret it.
