Thump Coffee was a good coffee shop to get some caffeine in downtown Bend before 8am. The place was busy with many people getting their buzz here, as it's a popular spot for a good ol' cuppa joe and more. The space inside is on the smaller side, but they also had outdoor tables and chairs, which was great since I had my dog with me. We sat outside for half an hour and witnessed many patrons stopping here for coffee. I ordered a drip coffee and a breakfast sandwich, with included a plain bagel, egg, pesto, cheese and bacon. The sandwiches were pre-made, so was heated when I ordered. In addition to breakfast sandwiches, they also had some pastries like cookies, croissants, etc. My coffee and sandwich was good; it was exactly what I needed before hitting the road home. I could see myself visiting Thump Coffee often if I lived in Bend, with its solid coffee and friendly staff. It's worth checking out to start your day in Bend. read more

Really good coffee! Both times we came, I got a cardamom latte made with almond milk and both times it was delicious and well-made. The service was fast, and the staff was super friendly. Clean and modern with a decent amount of seating. This location mostly has baked goods (versus other ones that have a larger menu.) If you like good coffee, don't miss this place! read more

We were staying across the street in the Oxford. Monday-morning muscle memory kicked in and I woke up early :-( Noticed Thump opened at 6:30am, so I hopped across the road for coffee, breakfast, and a quick read of my Kindle while my wife slept. The cafe is fairly intimate, light music playing, heady smell of fresh grinds, bar to belly up to if you're on the move. Lots of delicious looking sweet and savoury pastries in the cabinet. Staff were super nice, friendly, and clearly enjoyed working together. Got my order in and took a seat. The food and drink came up quick, always great to have proper china for drink-in. The warmed cheese and ham croissant was *absolutely delicious*. Likewise the coffee was great too. The service was great, they handled orders well and no one was ever left waiting at the door. As for the drink, I only tried one. Matcha. Ordered a oat milk matcha iced with a splash of sweetener. I've never had a matcha that tasted like grass. Being from Iowa, we will call it very well corn fed matcha. The taste never leaves your mouth. I hear their coffee is way better and love the baristas ability to add hearts in them. Those look substantially better and local friends say the coffee is the best. They also do provide a small card with baristas recommendations for small drinks if you aren't sure what to get. 3/5 The matcha was not the best, and it's a little chaotic waiting for it due to the way the tables are placed relative to where the drinks come out. read more

We visited Thump on 9/30/2020 while checking out downtown Bend. My sister collects cups from coffee shops and was hoping they would still have their stamped paper cups, but unfortunately they no longer have those - just your ordinary paper cups. Service was friendly. There are several outdoor tables available to sit and enjoy your food or drink. FOOD & DRINK: + Latte: this is my go-to drink choice whenever I'm trying a coffee shop for the first time. Decently strong flavor, good balance with the milk. I wasn't blown out of the water, but it wasn't bad. We came to Thump on our last morning in Bend because Yelp indicated that they have the best breakfast sandwich in Bend. I can't speak to the sandwich, but I got a cheddar bacon chive scone and a latte. It was absolutely incredible. The scone was dense and moist but also somehow super crumbly. The staff was super incredible and friendly. Overall, the vibe was chill and it's definitely on my list of places to revisit next time I'm in Bend. read more

Love Thump, always have great tasting coffee, and I don't know what it is about their plain bagel (the salt? the crunchy top?) but it's so good! As with other coffee places in town, they run out of baked goods fairly quickly so you'll need to get there early. The staff is always sweet and pleasant as well. Never had a bad experience at any of their locations. I like the ambiance of the downtown location as its small, dark and cozy - The Grove location is in an open market so much brighter, less cozy, but lots more seating as well (better for larger groups). Street parking is available for the downtown location, and the Northwest location has lots of parking available close by. read more

Couldn't figure out why this coffee shop struggles to bring locals in until now. My coffee was literally a dreadful experience after going in and out of there for over 8 years without incidence; got asked to no longer come in today after being told I "buy coffee to speak to one barista"...Uuhhh, wat? That excuse would've sorta made sense if I were being a creep but I don't talk to that person more than 3 times a month, go in once a week and mistakenly thought I had a rapport w her. I'm almost certain me and her were kosher from the friendly interactions. Whoops... clearly I'm missing something here since some of the baristas kept getting progressively ruder with me. Perhaps I should've picked up on their classy overtures but just kept telling myself that's how they were; Ya know, charming Kept saying "Feels like I don't belong here now" to the one I thought was a homie. These would've been opportune moments to confirm my suspicions and let me gracefully escape, instead I'm blindsided with Mean Girls routine while minding my own business standing outside lol Nasty. In conclusion, what the hell? In what business is it okay to single someone out like that? That was ridiculous when all I had to be told was that I was annoying someone... We were there on the morning of Sunday, July 3. 1 poor guy was there all by himself, because someone decided to sleep in. I'm a small business owner myself, so know how it goes! He handled it expertly, efficiently & with a smile. Because so many Yelpers raved about it, I decided to try the Spicy Mayan Mocha & it did not disappoint - slightly spicy, not overly chocolatey, perfectly blended. We tried a ham & cheese pastry & a chocolate hazelnut scone. The scone may have been gluten free - I know he said something was gluten free, but to be honest he had me at chocolate hazelnut. OMG! This IS THE coffee place to go to in Bend. its across the street from the Oxford Hotel (future review coming up as THIS IS the hotel to stay when in Bend). The service is fun, spunky, genuine and high energy. ordered the madagascar vanilla latte (iced as it was during the heat wave) and by far is the best vanilla latte I ever had. Had to get it the next day and the next. I know I should have tried something else, but seriously, we were only going to be there for 3 days and as it was the best vanilla latte ever, I couldn't pass it up. They did have some breakfast pastries that looked yummy and many other coffee options too.
