The Bite is such a cool spot! The food truck setup with a bar gives you tons of great food options, and the beer selection was excellent. On a freezing winter day, the indoor seating area was perfect -- they have real fireplaces that made it incredibly cozy and made the whole place feel warm and inviting. The outdoor area also looked like an awesome place to hang out when the weather is nicer. Another big perk for us was the Rivian charger in the parking lot, which made stopping here even more convenient. Great atmosphere, great drinks, and lots of food choices. We are from NW Ohio and wished we had a vast selection of food trucks linked with a full service bar. This concept is absolutely genius! Food choices are varied and all very good. Really like the firepits and tables outdoors as well as the covered area of The Bite. Decent selection of libations, so there is a bit of something for everyone to enjoy. A Saturday 5 pm visit, ordered some drinks and hung out until a table opened outside. Group of 5, here is what we liked: * Just a cool vibe place, beer, wine, multiple food trucks and live music. * A variety of beers, wines and a couple of ciders. * Food trucks ranging from pizza, burgers, sushi, Hawaiian and tacos. * Got the meat pizza, solid good would say 4 stars out of 5 * The smash burger was good, the bun toasted and just a pillowy cradle of bun to,hold the burger. Very nice establishment with a nice selection of local food being served out of food trucks. There a variety of different kinds of foods...wood fire pizza, burgers, tacos, pork, shaved ice and more. I ordered the patty melt from The Rogue. I didn't particularly care for it or the fries. The burger needed salt and the fries were sweet like the sugar got mixed up with the salt. There was also a cinnamon taste to the rye bread and overall just lacking seasoning. The caramelized onions were on point but I wouldn't pay $16 for that again. The bar is enclosed with plenty of seating as well as the outdoor area. There's music and two mist machines to keep folks cool under the canopy. It's a pet friendly place and people seem to be enjoying themselves. This is an amazing idea to replicate in New Orleans. read more

One of the best food truck courts in the Bend area. Great seating with outdoor carpeting and lots of shade (great for the canines). A good assortment of food trucks as well. We had a smash Burger from the Sando and Smash truck...delicious burger and fries, great quick service and reasonable price. One of our favorites for sure. read more

The girls at the bar are always so nice, and the selection is great. The choice of seating options has something to offer to everyone as long as there is availability. They also have trough's of folding chairs you can set up if the tables are all full. Sando's and Smash has great sandwiches you won't be disappointed with. Ordered deep fried zucchini at Westside Taco and it was the worst ever. It was way overcooked so the zucchini was all shriveled up inside of overcooked lots of coating. The "dips" were extra watery too so didn't stick to the zucchini. read more

I went to pick up my order, it was to go so the food was covered. I asked her (politely) if there was Ranch dressing in the box and she snapped at me with a bitchy sarcastic reply. The one dude bro who I guess pours beers at The Bite in Tumalo has issues. The guy looked at me funny about two weeks prior and it was obvious. I live in Tumalo. I come in today October 5th, order a beer and I tipped 20% before I was served because the world is backwards. He gives me a $8 beer and it's literally 3/4 full. I mean the glass looked like somebody took 2 sips off my beer. I've never been served by a more arrogant and rude person in Central Oregon. We discovered The Bite just this last summer. It's a bit off the beaten path from our usual Bend places but well worth the visit. We've been back twice and once was with a group of over 20 people. There are many different good choices so it keeps everyone in my family happy. The vibe and seating is great too. The beer inside, staff and owner are beyond amazing. We are staying at Eagle Crest and I decided to venture out for lunch. We didn't want to go all the way in to Bend and decided to go to Tumalo. We ended up at The Bite. This is a fun and friendly atmosphere. There are several Food Truck Options (Mexican, Hawaiian, Pizza, Poke) and it has a good amount of outdoor seating. They have a a bar that is covered and also has outdoor seating. They have a nice selection of Beer and wine. We ordered from Rico Tacos. I ordered the Chicken Street Tacos. Simple and yummy with the hot sauce. This place has a fun vibe and atmosphere. It's was a perfect day at 71 degrees to be sitting out here enjoying this well crafted outdoor experience. read more

Do you want to feel like a hip local?? This is your place. While visiting family in Bend, we met up at the Bite after many tales of excellent food truck options and loving the many options for everyone's taste buds. Arriving shortly before 6 pm, this place was hopping - we scored a table by the bar, where we discovered they have quite a selection: IPAs, sours, seltzers, and rose on tap (a big fan favorite in our crowd). After making the all-important drinks selection, we all split up to select dinner - 2 of us opted for poke bowls, while one had to try to the Rogue Chef BLT with avocado. All dinners were a big hit, the poke bowls with a side of spicy tuna rolls were devoured so quickly we forgot to snap a picture. If you want to try the King Salmon, suggest you arrive early because they were out of salmon by the time we made it. The spicy tuna was fresh and perfect, and the Bend sauce poke bowl was an excellent balance of spicy and sweet. The BLT with avocado was "the perfect ratio of bread to filling" according to my dining companion, who didn't even save me a bite! And those garlic fries?!? If you're a fan of garlic (as we are), you will fall in love, but if you're not (or you're on a date) maybe avoid these - you'll have garlic breath for DAYS. We love, love, love this place! Every time we're in the Bend area this is a must. This may be our 5th time? It's a bar and food truck stop with lots of seating and games and space for kids. It was a little chilly when we went but they have heaters and blankets in the bar area plus fires going outside too. You choose what you want to eat from five food trucks, we went with the Japanese sushi truck. Ordered the yakisoba noodle dish. We shared, it is a good size serving and really tasty. Great place to chill, have a beer and enjoy a multiplex of food if you are in Tumalo, the state park is not far away and a cool hike.

In the heart of downtown Tumalo, about 10 minutes from downtown Bend. It has 5-6 food cart options + beer/wine/cider. In the summer they have shaved ice too which is fun. Our favorite part about going to the Bite is that the kids are happy as there's a play area to explore. Great local spot. read more

My local pub - I love this place! They always have a nice selection of beer, and the staff working there are very friendly and offer quick service. The bar itself is a nice place to sit, closed off in the winter with a few nice wood burners, and open in the summer which is really nice. Prices are great - I still think they've made a mistake whenever they charge me for my growler being filled. The outdoor space has plenty of seating, and the food trucks all offer really good food. It's nice to have one of the trucks doing sushi as well; something different to a lot of the food truck fare. read more

Lots of neat fire pits outside by the food trucks, and lots of families gathered around for a nice evening (was cold out). Bar itself is super cozy and very dog friendly, they've got heaters within the inside patio which was awesome considering it was a very cold evening when I arrived with my dog. Cool place to sit outside with a good beer. Giving 3 stars because the attitude about COVID safety and regulations was a turn-off. While waiting in line to order a beer inside, they have a couple of snarky signs posted. One asks people to help them avoid getting "tattled on" again and another said something about no more than six people per table with a row of rolling eyes emojis. It just felt immature and disrespectful towards people and businesses who are taking the pandemic seriously. I'm all for supporting local businesses during this time but I feel better supporting those with respect for the risks and rules. Inside where you order beer was packed with people, making it impossible to keep your distance. Lots of people wandering around without masks, too. I might go back post-COVID but felt anxious and uncomfortable there this time around. The new sushi food truck looks awesome but was closed while I was there around 3pm.
