SO SO FUN!!! Started architecture design in college and this is a DREAM. The space is so beautiful with tons of natural light. This is also a good option for those who can't decide on anything (aka me). It's located in a fun spot of Bend and there are many food options so you can mix and match. Service at all the stalls were great!

The Grove was a bright and big space for all 13 of us to eat at. There was ample room for our party to sit and enjoy various types of foods. I have tried Shimshon, GoodEgg and their market food. The one item we got from the market inside the Grove was a key lime pie from Farmhouse Pies. It was delicious and a great dessert to share. Parking was the only difficult part since the parking lot shares with the apartment complex. There was some street parking available but a block away. Thankfully it was a weekend in the summer so there wasn't too many businesses open nor the problematic high school kids. I went a second time on a weekday at 2 and the place was very quiet with a few people even working on their laptops. You have to bus your own items which isn't hard just need to realize there aren't tables for each vendor but community tables.

Fantastic small food hall with a variety of vendors. The common area was clean and bright. There were plenty of tables, chairs ,and benches. Bathrooms were clean. We visited two nights in a row. The only negative was the parking lot, very limited spaces. Even the street parking was hard to come by.

Between the exceptionally good food at Hook and Plow, a most pleasant hotel experience, and a memorable trip to the High Desert Museum; our trip to Bend turned out to be a pleasure instead of the miserableness I expected. We had the Steak Tartare, the Chef's Board, the Blackend Crabcake, the Pear and Burrata Salad, and the Bone-in Pork Chop. We each got the cheesecake for desert and split the other dishes. This was more than enough for the three of us and we left full, happy, and with three large to-go boxes. The flavors of the various dishes were amazing. While all the dishes were vvery good, the standouts to me were the steak Tartare, the Pear and Burrata Salad, and the Cheesecake.

We were greeted by the host and seated quickly. We started our meal with a delicious non-alcoholic drink and the Chef's Board: a charcuterie with an assortment of cured meats, rustic bread, and various spreads. That came out pretty quickly. Unfortunately, our main courses came out much, much later and lukewarm. Luckily, the food was good enough that it made up for the temperature. I had the NY strip steak. The steak and the Boursin mashed potatoes alone were very good. The pickled onions and chimichurri complemented the meat very well. The meal was supposed to include brussel sprouts but came with a grilled broccoli cauliflower assortment instead. My wife had the Scallop Risotto which was also a great recommendation from the server. In reality, The Hook & Plow deserved 3 1/2 stars but that's not an option on Yelp. It may have been an off night for the staff, so I will give them the benefit of doubt. We would be open to trying it again sometime in the future.

Food and service was absolutely incredible, the Bavette blew all of my expectation out of the water. That was an incredible meal and the scallops specifically easily rivaled my favorite Michelin recommended Japanese favorite in San Francisco. I would recommend making a reservation if you want to be seated at a table, there is usually a line at the door for walk ins when they first open. With that being said, you may be sat at the bar if they reach capacity but that is NOT a bad thing - this last time we sat at the bar and had a wonderful experience! The food is 10/10 - our favorite is their hangar steak! If you are in the mood for an appetizer the poutine fries are also 10/10 ! All their cocktails we've tried throughout our visits have also been amazing! The atmosphere is great! The service has always been 10/10 as well - their customer service is unmatched, the owner always makes you feel like you're part of the family! I have reviewed in the past but now upgrading my review to reflect this fresh direction, well my opinion, and no Brushwood Country Club vibes here. Seems professionally casual in a Bend kind of way, after ski, after golf, fun place but not crazy loud. Location: Perfect on the boarder of the Deschutes National Forest with GC and mountain vistas that are stunning all the time but especially as the sun goes down. Great parking, Build Out: Very nice, professional looking, and quiet enough for a romantic evening. Seating is well spaced. For the Sports Bar kind of thing, next door The Row is fun. Menu: Excellent Farm to Fork options with staff that knows what they are serving, menu attached. Food Prep: Well done, everything seemed perfect in its place on purpose. Food/Cook Quality: Enjoyed a 8oz filet which was truly cooked as good as it gets MR with a great sear. Some beefy competition in town but here great options but not overwhelming options. We also enjoyed the Pork Chop which was excellent. Portions: There was a lot of food, too much for us as we indulged in two appetizers, mushroom toast and Ahi Tartare, two mains, and to sides each, yea my bad. Ahi is a must. Waitstaff: From Sam the at the door greeting and seating us to our waiter, everyone was positive and well informed on the menu items and gave great recommendations. Libations: We enjoyed a cocktail then a bottle of wine with our dinner and martini was well done and wine was reasonable in price. Better than most in Bend. Overall Value: On par with Bend's best but better location and history connected to this property. It is not inexpensive but it is not overpriced, we will continue to support and enjoy.

At least that's what they imply with all this larger than life architecture. I had a few drinks at the bar, testing various cocktails while we waited for a seat. Then my family and I were seated by a 16 year old somewhere dark and moody with riverside views. Kinda romantic if you were on a date. The Gen Alpha waiter didn't understand humor unfortunately and probably thought we were all unc. For some reason the menu seemed to lack variety and I felt forced to pick finger food instead of gluten and or giant meaty dishes that cost 50+ ...I can't ever finish those anyways. The Hawaiian nachos were not nachos, but some poke on little tostada things with some crema on top. Kinda underwhelming for 15 dollars. They were nice but more of a sharing dish, too much fishy flavor and lack of variety for one. I wonder why the menu is so boxed in and uninspired, like can we get a bit of creativity outside of appetizers? For a place with such a powerful presence, I expected more.

My family loves to come to Anthonys for special occasions and we've always had top notch experiences until this visit. My family came here recently for my elderly father's special birthday. Our group got seated on time, but that's where the promptness ended. It took a very long time for someone to check in with us and take our drink order, no biggie as we all like each other and don't mind spending the time. Drinks came, except for my sisters wine, that came 25 minutes later. It took another very long time to get our order taken. And you guessed it, a very long time to get the food. I will add that the resto was only about 1/3 full on this particular evening, so not busy at all (this was not a Friday or Saturday night). So something was amiss for sure. 2/3 of our group ordered salads to enjoy before the main course. Only they didn't come out first. After much time, all the food came out at once (2 hours after getting seated at our reservation time). What's the point of an appetizer when it comes out with the dinner? We all had our food, except for the birthday boy. By the time dad's food came out (at least 15 minutes later), everyone else's food was cold. Errrrr. When questioning what was happening everyone was again very nice, but the answers were pretty corporate (I can sniff this stuff out pretty well). The Anthony's staff is SO nice, but there's definitely an execution/timing problem at this restaurant, at least lately. I understand that a 6 top isn't going to be a speedy execution, but this was different and we definitely weren't anticipating a 3 hour dinner - no exaggeration. They comped us desserts and 1 entree which was very kind, but I really hope Anthony's gets the service together so that we can feel good about coming back here again.

The homemade pasta is decent--I'll give them that, but I couldn't taste it apart from the bland sauces. Unfortunately the two dishes we ordered didn't live up to the hype. The Tagliatelle al Ragu' alla Bolognese had a ground-beef sauce that was strangely bland and under-salted. It tasted like it had been boiled just to cover up the lack of seasoning--honestly reminded me more of a basic canned chili than a rich, slow-cooked Bolognese. The Pappardelle alla Chiantigiana was even more disappointing. The sausage had that tired, old-sausage flavor, and the sauce (fennel, tomato, leeks, Chianti) never popped. Everything just kind of sat there on the plate. The ambiance was okay, but the restaurant was strangely packed. We called at 4:00 when they opened and had to reserve the soonest table at 8 PM, so none of it made any sense in the end. The complimentary bread was cold, which feels like such a simple thing to get right. And at $30 and $36 for medium-sized bowls of pasta, I expected a lot more wow for the price. I make better versions of both dishes at home on a regular Tuesday night. Maybe we caught an off night or our tastes just don't line up with the majority, but with 300+ reviews at 4.5 stars I was genuinely surprised. Won't be rushing back.
