I have reviewed in the past but now upgrading my review to reflect this fresh direction, well my opinion, and no Brushwood Country Club vibes here. Seems professionally casual in a Bend kind of way, after ski, after golf, fun place but not crazy loud. Location: Perfect on the boarder of the Deschutes National Forest with GC and mountain vistas that are stunning all the time but especially as the sun goes down. Great parking, Build Out: Very nice, professional looking, and quiet enough for a romantic evening. Seating is well spaced. For the Sports Bar kind of thing, next door The Row is fun. Menu: Excellent Farm to Fork options with staff that knows what they are serving, menu attached. Food Prep: Well done, everything seemed perfect in its place on purpose. Food/Cook Quality: Enjoyed a 8oz filet which was truly cooked as good as it gets MR with a great sear. Some beefy competition in town but here great options but not overwhelming options. We also enjoyed the Pork Chop which was excellent. Portions: There was a lot of food, too much for us as we indulged in two appetizers, mushroom toast and Ahi Tartare, two mains, and to sides each, yea my bad. Ahi is a must. Waitstaff: From Sam the at the door greeting and seating us to our waiter, everyone was positive and well informed on the menu items and gave great recommendations. Libations: We enjoyed a cocktail then a bottle of wine with our dinner and martini was well done and wine was reasonable in price. Better than most in Bend. We made a reservation for a table of 10 and we were sat at a table with three story ceilings and a spectacular view of the golf course and local mountains. Ari was our waiter and his knowledge of the food, the Tetherow golf course and even local mountains was great. The food was delicious. The halibut cake (think crab cake) alone is worth stopping in to try. Everyone loved their meal...including a cherry tart made from locally grown organic cherries. I usually don't post reviews, but this was such a great experience that a good review is well deserved. We have eaten at all of the high end restaurants in Bend as we are born and raised and we definitely have our favorites. For some reason, Solomon's always fell off of my radar when looking for a nice dinner but we were looking for something new for a date night with our kiddo tagging along and happened upon a reservation to Solomon's. Our 9 year old is very well behaved and used to eating at nice places so I wasn't worried when we walked in and there weren't any other kids in the quiet atmosphere. Our server, Austin was so kind and welcoming, honestly one of the very best we have ever had anywhere. She made perfect suggestions for drinks that were off menu and for our kiddo for dinner choices. The food was absolutely delicious. After the burrata appetizer, we were impressed and our son said, "if they can make burrata and tomatoes taste that good I'm excited for my dinner!" While the food and drinks were delicious, the view was gorgeous, the service was the most memorable. Thank you, Austin! Our son definitely made a new friend and we will be back to visit soon! Had dinner 6/25/2023. It was great. The service from Brandon was top notch. We started with the mushroom toast, because my wife and I love Oregon mushrooms. It was great, lots of mushrooms all tender. We each had a glass of red wine, We explained that we were drinking less,so a bottle was not right for just 2 of us. I then ordered the 2 bone Elk rack, which was tender and done just right. My wife had the chicken marsala, again done just right. We then each ordered a dessert. Brandon noticed our wine glasses were empty, so he brought out the bottle and gave each of us just a splash more. A nice touch. It was a great dinner. We think some of the bad reviews are older, before a major remodel or when it just reopened. The location is excellent, with beautiful views to the west. read more

The service was impeccable the view stunning, and the food was as good as the best in Deschutes County. Risotto with tri color fresh mushrooms. I don't often write reviews but our dinner at Solomon's was too phenomenal to not give credit where due. Our meal from start to finish was decadent. Literally even the balsamic served with the bread was the best I've had. My husband's filet was one of his top 3 filets ever and my swordfish was off the charts. Also - huge shout out to our waiter Justin who was outstanding - he's truly perfected customer service and made the whole experience even better. This year just was a little different and I made reservations for our family of 5 and Solomon's came to impress. Took 85 years to get our food. Finally got our food and 2 orders were messed up. Steak was cold. Waitress made something up about the members being able to order from the same menu but restaurant guests having priority which clearly was not the case as we sat for over an hour watching "members" come in, go into the member section, order, eat and leave before we had our food. Carpaccio was delicious. Disappointed by their Beets salad. The raw red onion were too overpowering so can't taste the beets. Petrale of sole was okay, nothing special. The gentleman who served me was excellent. Very helpful with recommendations and quick to check in on me. I was a single person dining in while on a work trip and once I had a table it was great. However, before getting seated I nearly walked out. Firstly they don't make it very clear where to go to check in for a table. There was a rather large group (15+) dining in that night and I simply asked their server where I go to get a table he asked if I had a reservation and informed him I didn't he looked me in the eye and said "without a reservation we're all full. You should try the Row next door for food." I was a little blown away. I was prepared to have a wait to get a table but to be told absolutely no room was a little wild. This all took place around 7:30. I went on open table and booked a reservation for 7:45 and again I waited near the entrance (I was awkwardly standing there I'll admit) and was about 5 minutes after my reservation before someone checked on me and got me seated. Turns out they did have room for people as long as you book a reservation for 10 minutes after told there's no room. Cruddy customer service from the First Gentleman I talked to and was prepared to request another server if needed but luckily got a good one with the gentleman that helped. Filet and gratin potatoes were phenomenal. I won't likely stay at Tethrow again and instead choose to stay in Bend proper while in town again and I definitely will not be eating at Solomons again. read more

WOW! The new kitchen staff; Chef Nick and Chef Matt really hit a home run with our dinner! My friends and I did a tasting menu and it was by far one of the best meals I have enjoyed in Bend, Oregon. My experience seems fairly similar to the other poor reviews: not great food, long wait time for dishes to come out (30-45 min per course), and very disappointing service. Instead of apologizing for the long wait time for our dishes, our waiter avoided eye contact with us every time he walked by our table... the dining room was not even half full so we thought this was very strange! The one positive is the gorgeous view. Might be a nice place to have a glass of wine or cocktails but would not recommend any of the food! read more

My husband and I had a lovely anniversary dinner at Solomon's last evening. We first shared the beef carpaccio, which was outstanding (good enough to rival Ariana Restaurant's carpaccio, in fact, which was previously state of the art in my book). Since it was a hot evening and we weren't in the mood for heavy meats, we then had the special burrata cheese dish and a caesar salad, washed down by a lovely Sokol Blosser rose fortunately offered by the glass. (One small quibble: the romaine lettuce leaves in the Caesar were not shredded into bite sized pieces but the whole lettuce head was cut into a couple of sections and dressed: hard to eat that way.) We ended with a delicious house-made ice cream whose name I have forgotten but that had brownie bits and caramel sauce integrated within it. All delicious! Jason was our server and his pacing and attention were perfect. The spectacular view over to the Cascades from the Solomon's dining room cannot be beat in Bend, a beautiful redtail hawk flew by at one point close enough to really be seen, and the place is a reasonably quiet (that's unusual these days) white tablecloth establishment that, given the scarcity of similar Bend restaurants now, should have been packed on a summer Friday night but wasn't. It takes advance reservations on Open Table and doesn't force you into the 5pm or 8pm timing some local restaurants do. Prices are what we'd expect and less than some comparable places. We definitely will return and will bring our friends! read more

I can't even give Solomon's a star. I made reservations for our anniversary. The first thing I picked was my wine and they didn't carry it anymore. It took our waiter 20 minutes to come back to take our order. We ordered the shrimp with polenta and the shrimp was old and tasted fishy. My husband order the dinner salad with olive oil and they put vinegar on it. I ordered the beet salad and the beets were old and mushy. We waited 30 minutes for our waiter to check on us. Finally I took our plates to the bar and told them our issues. The "manager " told us the waiter cut his hand. We waited another 15 minutes for our waiter to come back and tell me that my beets were fresh. ( with a plastic glove on his hand). How appetizing. We never got another salad or entree. We were still billed for the wine. We left with no dinner. My anniversary dinner was ruined. read more

When we arrived the restaurant was not busy and in the 3 hours we were there it never got busy. Drink orders were placed and arrived in a timely manner. 4 people out of the 6 ordered the special, a Thai Chicken dish.....and we waited and waited. The Chicken was dry and very hard to cut, the quinoa was tasteless and the salad was drenched in a salty dressing. I kept waiting for the server to check with us to ask how our meal was, but he never did. Add to the fact that the price for this meal was $28. The two stars was for the beautiful view of the sunset otherwise it would have been no stars. I'm not a person that usually gives negative yelps, but this really needs to be addressed by the management (if they read yelps.) read more

Solomon's is a very good restaurant on a ridge above Tetherow golf course with a beautiful view of the course and nearby Cascade mountain range. We celebrated my wife's 80th birthday in a special room with our family of 7. The menu was very good as was the wine collection. Service was excellent. Several friends and I went to Solomon's for dinner after hearing about a change in the kitchen. After agreeing to a 'tasting menu' style experience, the courses began arriving at our table. Each plate was brought out and described by Chefs Nick and Matt. The passion these two have for what they do is incredible. The food was absolutely delicious. The front of house staff were equally as excited about the food which was a good sign. We tried 9 items from the menu and each was as phenomenal. Great experience and will be back. We have tried this restaurant many times over the years. It is never great, and this was our last "...give it another try." For the same amount of $$$ spent, we could have had a fabulous meal at Bos Taurus or Ariana. The setting is lovely. The food always disappoints. I ordered a 'Grilled peach and burrata salad'. The cheese was only mozzarella that was so tough it couldn't be cut with a knife. The peaches, which should have been front and center for this summer salad, were 3 thin slices of what looked like peelings of the fruit that had accidentally been tossed in the dish! The whole thing was drenched in balsamic vinegar. The seasonal vegetable was Brussels sprouts. Since when is this a summer vegetable? And it, too, was over cooked. My husband fish entree' was equally ill prepared. We always want to love this place. It has yet to deliver and is most definitely not worth the money. read more

I went to Solomon's last Friday with friends and had a terrible dining experience. The service was barely adequate, the food was awful, and the prices exorbitant. We ordered a salad, two starters, and one entre. The entre (Gnudi) was dry and remarkably tasteless. The "short ribs" starter was actually cold, as well as greasy and full of gristle. The "pork cheeks" starter ( three 1 inch cubes of meat) was equally greasy and served at room temperature. The bread, supposedly made with exotic ingredients like "juniper milk" had the flavor and consistency of day-old Wonder Bread. We declined another entre. And as I said, the prices were way of proportion to the quality of the food (and wine). A salad, two appetizers, a mediocre glass of wine, and the least spendy entre on the menu - $110. On a positive note, the ambience and seating was comfortable. However, the service and food was very disappointing. We were the first dinner guest to be seating - arriving at 6 pm. Nearly an hour after ordering our entrees, the waiter tells us that one of the orders can't be prepared by the chef - it was on the menu. OK, so we reorder and again wait a considerable time. All four of us ordered the duck. It arrived barely warm. Apparently it had been sitting for quite some time. We were also somewhat in dismay over the size of the portions. I left hungry and angry. We had what may have been our best meal in central Oregon! I made reservations for my wife and myself and when we showed up, we were greeted and promptly shown to our table by the window overlooking the golf course, which already had chilled water waiting for us in our glasses. Our server, whom could not have been better, brought us some Striata bread from Sparrow bakery with cardamom infused butter...which was terrific...to start our evening. We then ordered the steamed clams as a starter and they were the best we've ever had, and we order steamed clams and mussels all the time. The toasted/buttered bread for dipping was toasted to perfection and that sauce....oh that sauce, the best ever! We actually split the 12oz ribeye which was cooked exactly as ordered, and each portion came on a bed of fresh tender asparagus. We enjoyed the meal with some terrific reasonably priced wine and ended our meal by sharing bread pudding with candied pecans topped by a large scoop of vanilla ice cream for desert. The bread pudding was to die for... not only the best bread pudding we've ever had, but one of the best deserts we've ever had. We love other places in town such as Zydeco, but this evening was simply perfect. it's much more intimate, quiet, and the view was spectacular on the evening we were there.
