We have been living in Bend since Nov 2025 and have tried at least 10 breakfast joints looking for Biscuits and Gravy on par with Bob Evans back east in VA. We decided to try this place (and yes have been to McKay Cottage) because of the local hype around it. Got there around 0815 on Memorial Day - no wait- got seated at a booth right inside the door. We were given water right away, and coffee to follow. The gal took our order; California omelet for me with white toast, and Biscuits and Gravy for the DH. I'd say we waited around 20 minutes for our food; not bad. Huge plates! I had a sneak bite of his meal, and it was not bad although the biscuits (which were huge) seemed pretty doughy. Pretty much no flavor in the gravy so loaded up on the pepper and it was better. I've noticed in Bend the gravy is always served on top of mutant bread lumps known as biscuits instead of on the side. My omelet, the potatoes were very good- for the 1/4 of it I could eat. Lots of stuff jammed in there for sure! White toast and whatever jam they served was not good. Coffee was not good; weak. It is expensive, just like every other sit down breakfast place around here- $50 before tip. I'd say if you like to start your day in a less than serene way you might like this place. I think it's a charming spot that holds a special place in the hearts of the locals here. And that's alright by me. read more

After a staggering 1 1/2 hour wait, it took 20 more minutes to take our order and an absolutely mind-blowing hour more for our food to arrive!! and when it did, the food was "Ok." Brunch in Bend... Victorian Cafe is a staple!! You can usually expect a bit of a wait but it is well worth it. They've got a beautiful outdoor seating area to compliment dining inside. It was great weather this weekend so we grabbed our drinks outside and hung out by the awesome firepits while we waited for our table. Chloe and her mom were our servers and they were amazing. Definitely a busy place for a Sunday brunch. It was 1 hour 15 min to get seated and then about 40-45 minutes to get your food once you ordered. The food was delicious but not worth the wait tbh. The wild salmon Benedict was quite good. We had a lamb Benedict (that was supposed to be duck but they were out). This was a special of the week and tbh was just fine. Came to see what all the hype was about! Other reviewers are spot on - hot sauce wall is awesome, servers are friendly, and the portions are massive. Parking is a nightmare, it can be hard to flag someone down for coffee and/or the bill when they're busy if you're tucked off to the side, and the food wasn't *actually* that great, especially considering the price. 4 stars because it's a great lil spot with a great spread and time to table + time to eat is excellent. My husband and I are always on the lookout for a stellar breakfast spot and The Victorian Cafe did not disappoint! We walked up to see people waiting by the fires outside. The inside was warm and inviting and we were greeted right away. After a short wait we were seated by the window. Our server greeted us quickly and we ordered their bacon Bloody Mary with their pepper infused vodka. So good! I am very picky about my Bloody Marys and honestly so many bartenders fail to deliver the savory, spicy, umami goodness that I've come to expect and this Bloody Mary hit the spot. My husband had the Eighteen Wheeler. The biscuits were fluffy and thick without being overly dense. The gravy had a wonderful texture and was exactly what you want from your biscuits and gravy. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. I had the smoked salmon Benedict. It was perfectly seasoned and I appreciated the portion size. I was a bit disappointed by my experience here. Service was lovely and ambience was homey, but the food felt short of expectations - especially for being so well-loved in Bend. I got an omelette special that had mushroom, sausage, spinach, goat cheese, onions. It came with a side of potatoes and a homemade scone. The scone and potatoes were good, but nothing spectacular. The scone was very crumbly and a little dry. The scramble was loaded with toppings, but the flavor was like a group project that didn't know how to work together. The sausage had an interesting texture and the flavor wasn't good. I ended up just picking it apart and eating the toppings separately. Neither of us finished our food and I'm not sure if we ordered the wrong things or came on an off day. Hospitality was great and it feels like you're dining in someone's home. Cozy and welcoming. But it was busy as expected but didn't think anything of it as breakfast in Bend on a Saturday morning is difficult to get in to most restaurants. I dropped my wife off and finally found parking. It was busy and customers were coming in and out while we waited patiently to be seated. We watched as several people who came in after us were seated promptly . The hostess refused to look at us or offer any assurance that we hadn't been forgotten. It's sad that Bend has become so busy that these long time establishments no longer put customers first. So tasty! Be prepared for a long wait if you get there after 9am on a weekend. This place gets busy, but for good reason. One of my favorite brunch spots in Bend. They have a large menu with tons of options and speciality cocktails. The mimosas are quite small. I recommend getting the large. Even the mid-mosa is about a regular size drink. I had the best day ever and I think that it's because I started my day at Victorian Café. We were able to sit outside on a sunny summer Tuesday and try out this amazing breakfast spot which has to be the best breakfast I've ever had in Bend. I love that they have so many eggs Benedict varieties and that you can even do a half order instead of a full one while getting to try out many savory and sweet options on their menu. It was so nice that we had to do it twice and even came back the following day as well. I ordered their eggs Benedict that was on the Texas toast with hot fried chicken and homemade coleslaw. Every bite, it was crispy, savory, and the perfect combination of flavor. And they even let me order single blueberry pancake, the edges were crispy with a nice dollop of butter and maple syrup. I was in heaven with my chai latte which you couldn't even tell had a bit of crater like vodka in it. This really perked up my morning before we headed off to see some waterfalls and the food kept me full late the evening as we went to a concert at Hayden Holmes amphitheater later that day. I would truly recommend coming here again. The service was great. Everyone was delightful. I always make sure to celebrate the small businesses, especially if I'm visiting from out of town and ensure that we are supporting the locals for putting so much heart in love into their food and what they do. read more

This place is a joke. An utterly bland hot spot for the uncultured affluent white people of bend to go to. It's like a knock off mckay cottage. I got a chai tea for $6 and I watched the server pour Oregon Chai into a coffee cup with some milk and toss it in the microwave right in front of me. Fucking pathetic. For $6 I can get a quart of the same chai and microwave it at home for myself for a month. If you're into the need to add your own seasonings to things this is the spot for you. My wife and I have eaten here and we've both loved the food. It's always fresh and delicious. We've always ordered different foods on the menu and all of it has been delicious. The service has always been great and the staff is always attentive. The ambiance is great and it's a feeling like you've been invited into someone's home, which it was someone's home at some time in history. Every time we've gone there for breakfast we've always been seated in the same area of the restaurant section we sat in the first time we ate there. It's a part of the restaurant like hexagonal library reading area surrounded by windows. The ambience is great and I recommend eating here. read more

Great little breakfast spot but steep prices so it's definitely not just a hometown cafe. The ladies that work there are all super awesome and friendly. Service was quick, including food wait time. I was actually shocked because most of the tables were taken and my food came out really fast. They have a hot sauce wall here and that's what every place needs to consider because YUM! The scone was bomb diggity and I really loved all the different flavored mimosa options. The omelette helped cure my hangover and I downed the bottomless strawberry lemonade. So good! Cute place and if you have a large group, maybe call before hand so they can save a place. Victorian Cafe was rated as one of the best breakfast places in Bend. I agree that it's good, but they can do better. The vibe I felt was that we were top-notch in the 2010s, but left little room for change in the 2020s. To start, the local staff do an amazing job at making folks feel welcome. They know many guests by name, and you can feel their community-centered focus. However, some guests feel very comfortable, allowing their dogs to prance all over guests in the outdoor seating and waiting areas. We observed multiple guests letting their animals walk all over other people, including us, and we were glad not to have a long wait for tables. After adding ourselves to the waitlist, we ordered coffees poured into paper cups with plastic lids and paper stir sticks. If guests intend to stay, I'd highly recommend using reusable mugs that folks can bring inside instead of contributing to waste while avoiding temperature cooling. Thick mugs will hold the heat better since a few guests complained about how cold their coffee got. I even ordered a new coffee when we sat inside for this reason, and I felt bad about the single-use items. The tables were cozy, and I really enjoyed the interior space. The vibes of mountain cabins crossed with neighborhood café are well done and pleasant. The menu is quite large, so take your time ordering. Ask about specials, since we weren't aware of them until we ordered. The plated meals are huge. Everyone we observed left with substantial portions, including us. We recommend trimming the menu, focusing more on seasonal and local fare, and adding higher-quality menu items and slightly smaller dishes for the prime experience. Moreover, the prices for each item could decrease, enabling guests to truly choose what they want to order. We overheard a few tables discussing the value proposition for the items and size, and they agreed that smaller meals could go a long way. It was crowded, but after tasting everything, I can understand why! I have the privilege of being born on National Eggs Benedict Day (yay, me!) and as a result, a good benny is one of my favorite things!! Not only does Victorian Cafe have good bennies, they have unusual bennies! (Not like strange or anything, just ones that you don't see on other menus!) We are visiting Bend and had a few different people recommend the Victorian Cafe for brunch. We were warned about the wait but still ended up arriving at prime time -- Saturday at 10:30 am. It's not clear at all where to find the hostess -- she's the one with the iPad at the end of the bar ... unless she's off doing something else, then you have no idea where to check in (we were not the only ones with this issue). When we finally connected, we were told the wait would be 1 hour, 15 minutes. Sounds harsh but with a terrific bar on the patio and a beautiful, warm morning, we were game -- heck, we're on vacation with nowhere to be! We grabbed a couple of tasty mimosas and a seat on the patio. While I can't say the time went fast, the people watching was bested only by the dog watching. Our name was called right at the promised time. We ended up at an inside table by the window and fairly quickly got coffee, water and menus. That was the last thing that was quick. We made our decisions and waited for the waitress to return -- by this time, we were pretty hungry. Hubby ordered the smoked salmon Bennie, I selected the sweet potato hash, which came with a scone (or toast, but who turns down a scone?). After about 10 minutes, we needed a coffee reheat and had to track down the waitress to ask for it. Ok, busy morning, we get it. Then the scone arrived. It was warm cinnamon with cinnamon butter and should have been wonderful. My advice -- skip the scone. It was dense and flavorless and shaped like a 3-year-old play dough project. A total of 30 minutes passed from the time we ordered to the time our food arrived, with no ETA or check-in from our waitress. I totally understand that a popular restaurant at peak time will be busy but it would have gone a long way to hear an update from her. Good news -- when it arrived, the food was delicious, with very generous portions. Lots of smoked salmon in the Bennie. The hash had candied bacon bits, chopped hazelnuts, goat cheese crumbles and raw curly kale in it with 2 eggs on top. Amazing combination of flavors! My only thing was that the raw kale was too pronounced; I would have preferred a more tender kale and for it to be cooked down a bit. There was so much, I took half of it home for another meal. Our bill for 2 was around $60, not including the pre-meal mimosas. So ... VC is a little bit of a mixed bag for me. It was quite busy and for good reason. Staff were attentive and sat us immediately. My step daughter had the Godfather Eggs Benedict. It was the best eggs Benedict she's ever had. I had the Lazzaroni French Toast. It didn't disappoint. Portions were really big. I think next time we would split the meal. She also had the Proud Mary Bloody Mary. Dropped in here on a short trip to bend and was excited to try it after receiving glowing recommendations from 3 different people. Got in around 830AM on a Sunday and there was plenty of parking and seating available. Inside was a cute little space that felt like a converted house, not quiet but not loud. We were quickly brought waters by a busser and then sat without being noticed for about 15 minutes before being greeted by the server. Looked like she may have been on break, okay fine. She smiled and took our order quickly enough, we got the blueberry pancakes and the breakfast burrito. Plus two coffees. Breakfast burrito was okay. Kind of bland on the flavor - expected some character from the sausage but was kind of all uniform in taste . The blueberry pancakes were pretty much totally raw in the middle - liquid pancake mix and cold blueberries. My partner ate around the edge and we didn't want to send it back and be a pain. Coffee was warm and full for the duration. Overall Victorian cafe was... fine. Nothing to write home over. Price a little high for what felt like a pretty mediocre experience. I had the cinnamon scone instead of toast with the green hornet omelette. The omelette had a bit of kick as it had jalapeños along with spinach, avocado, asparagus, and green scallions. The breakfast potatoes were sliced thin with light seasoning. The scone was freshly baked. I thought it was undercooked but as time went on it seemed to finish baking. Upscale breakfast. If you are going to pay $20 or more for eggs it should have local moral mushrooms, steak, or even lobster. This place is getting the most they can out of breakfast.
