    Caesar salad
    Pamela F.

We were staying at the adjacent Oxford Hotel and came in for a late bite after settling in. Sleek, clean space dressed in black and white with some natural green and brown highlights. I especially appreciated their seasonally appropriate gourd displays scattered around the place. It wasn't busy at all so we were seated right away in a booth near the entry to the kitchen. Friendly service from Jeff. Husband really enjoyed his Fritz Old Fashioned. I opted for a glass of Chardonnay. I wasn't too hungry so went for the Caesar salad. The garlic-roasted chickpeas and farro were a fun spin on this classic and the croutons may have been the crunchiest I've ever experienced (in a good way). He got the campfire chicken with polenta and it was absolutely scrumptious. We kept trading dishes back and forth and it ended up being a perfect amount of food for both of us. We just too full to try any of their interesting crème brûlée options. Shucks!

We found ourselves roaming downtown in Bend without reservations and after stopping at every restaurant in sight to get told it'd be a 90 minute wait. That was until we ran across Roam, where we were able to get seated and served immediately. I was surely thinking the only place we found with an open table would probably not be great, but I was wrong. The service was wonderful, the place was clean and comfortable. The old fashioned was made with Buffalo trace and was perfect. The steak cooked to a wonderful medium rare and served with chimmichurri. The truffle fries were perfect. I don't understand how they had an open table but I am thankful for it!

We stopped by ROAM the day after Valentine's Day, excited to try some of their delicious-looking menu items--only to find out that most of the things we wanted (including the truffle fries!) were sold out. Total heartbreak! It felt like every time we picked something, we got the dreaded "Sorry, we're out of that." I get it--it was a busy weekend--but it definitely took the excitement down a notch. That said, the restaurant itself is gorgeous--bright, open, and a great place to relax. And our server? Super sweet and totally apologetic, even though it obviously wasn't her fault. The food we did get was still tasty, so we'll have to come back when they're fully stocked and give it another go!

Found Roam after our original choice was packed and had a two hour wait. Was able to get in quickly and greeting by our friendly server Kelly who also offered some tips for us out of towners on good hikes locally. The food was fresh and delicious. The ambiance was laid back and not pretentious. Would definitely come back.

Delicious food and wonderful service. Came with a group of friends for dinner and I was not disappointed! From the rolls, cocktails and dinner everything tasted good! I got the saged and confused cocktail, Smokey for sure but I enjoyed it. I also got the Wagyu Bolognese for dinner and that was delicious. The portion was perfect in my opinion! It has great flavor and I liked the wide noodles. My husband got the steak frites and fries, it was also delicious. Everyone liked their food. I highly recommend!

I needed a spot for brunch on a Sunday with my family and the photos on Yelp made it seem like this was a good place to go. There were pros and cons for sure. If you don't feel like reading what I'm about to write, I'll just tell you now that I won't be returning. Upon walking in, a lady was at the greeter counter and I asked if there were any tables for 4 adults and a baby. She looked me up and down (in a very judgey way), and then looked around inside and then continued to say they only had seats outside. (There were so many empty seats inside, so this was a bit off putting) I agreed to us sitting outside because the sun started coming out. We were seated and then sat and waited about 5ish min for the server to come and ask us if we wanted drinks. We ordered coffee, and then food. We ordered, the French toast, elk hash, biscuits and gravy, and eggs Benedict. I'll speak for my food, and say that it was ok. Not stand out for the price, and didn't really have that homey feeling you get when you have a truly delicious eggs Benedict. The side potatoes were very good though, I have to give them that. The English muffin under the eggs and ham tasted like it was soaked in butter, which was super overwhelming because there wasn't enough sauce to begin with. The coffee with good though, pretty standard. I will say that the items seemed overpriced for what was being served. They also charged $8 for 3 pieces of bacon (that's pretty insane, right?) Im always down to spend some money on exceptional food, but this felt very meh. I think I had expected more because of past reviews! (Which was my bad, and I guess now I know!) Overall, I would give this place a 5.3/10 for service and give the food maybe a 6/10 (mainly because my mom and my husband said they enjoyed their meal) though my sister got really bad stomachache while eating her food, and only ate about half of her meal because of it. She also didn't take it to go, so it makes me wonder if something was off there.

I ordered a yogurt parfait to go here one morning to bring back to my room. It was very overpriced at 14$ before tip but the ingredients were fresh and tasted high quality. The only thing I would have liked would have been some honey or a sweetener since the yogurt was plain. The servers were soo friendly though. Great service here. The menu seemed really good too so would be interested in coming back and trying more things.

We had a pretty disappointing experience at Roam. The biggest takeaway is that the food and service is not worth the high menu prices - even for Bend. The burger was the only reasonable entree - both in price and taste. The fish and steak were way too saucy and overpowered what should be a naturally flavorful dish. Our service was middle ground too. It always felt like we were bothering our waitress, even for something as simple as refilling our water.

Roam is an interesting place with some character. Overall, the food was simple and had some thought behind it, but it wouldn't be my first choice for a lunch or dinner experience. This place feels secondary to the hotel, and it lets you know it. Lilly, our server, was great--she genuinely seemed to care about her customers.

We went to Roam for dinner last night for the first time. We had already decided prior to going that we would order the Tomahawk steak for dinner. This is a limited item so it may not be available. We started with the Bone Marrow and Chimichurri, which came with roasted marrow bones, chimichurri, grilled focaccia, house pickles, parsley, and pomegranate molasses. The appetizer was tasty, but I wished there was more of it. For drinks I ordered the Purple Haze made with Ciroc vodka, crème de violette, lavender honey simple, and lemon. Loved that drink! On to the main course, the 44oz espresso crusted Tomahawk , that serves 2-4 a creekstone angus, with chef's toasted butter, chimichurri, cabernet demi, truffle herb whipped potatoes, caramelized onions, cast iron brussels sprouts, house pickles, house made focaccia bread service. We both agreed that it was delicious! Although even though it says it feeds two to four people, the potato serving was small to me. But, we still brought home a lot of the meal. So it may just be me because I love potatoes! Fully intended to order the creme brûlée flight, but we were so full. Next time no matter what I'm ordering the dessert. Waitstaff was attentive and friendly. Overall a very nice dining experience.

What a great place to bring friends and family. Beautiful atmosphere ( music was a bit bar like) but table was set very nicely and spaced well giving you privacy from other patrons. Food was VERY good and lots of menu selections. Service was terrific! Drinks incredible.

Amazing food and service!!!! The wine is incredible, steak is awesome, dessert too! We had a reservation for Christmas Eve and we were seated 15 mins early! They took great care of us and our server was super warm! The ONLY thing is the wait time for food. 40 min wait for food--we did have steak, but an additional 20 min wait for dessert which was very small. Other than that, AMAZING!

We ended up staying right next door and decided to pop in as it was so close and it looked promising. The food and drinks were delicious, definitely did not disappoint. We ended up getting some drinks to start. The yuzu lemonade was a non-alcoholic drink, but it was very tasty and refreshing. The yuzu taste was not overpowering and the lemonade made it refreshing. Also got the Forager and it was quite a pleasant surprise! The black pepper was a good mix to the gin and lime! Also a light and refreshing drink, it was exactly what we were looking for after a day of traveling. For food, we got the NY strip and the mushroom gnocchi. Both meals were a generous amount of proportions with full of flavor. The steak was seasoned well and the chimichurri sauce to top the steak and potatoes was a great balance. The mushroom gnocchi was light and the mushrooms and sauce were a perfect complement to keep the taste buds craving more. Overall would come back to this place as service was good and was a nice place to either go for a date spot or bring a small group of friends.

Awesome that you can do many different sides including regular fries, Cajun fries, salad, chips, and more options... do wish they had onion rings however. I got the hummus plate which was good but not the best I've had. It came with a baguette which was more like garlic bread so I would have, personally, liked pita more. It also had a few olives on the side with a red pepper type sauce. I got it with no pickled onions. They had a great beer selection and even a few tasty non-alcoholic beers. Also had kombucha on tap which was delicious (from Humm). Everyone working was super sweet and the vibes were relaxed and casual. Our food came out quick and exactly how we ordered it. They also seemed to have spaces for larger parties, too. They also have a little gift shop if you wanted to pick anything from shirts, to bottle openers, to beer candles and more! I took a moment to study the vintage photo of the original firehouse that now serves as the brick bones of the restaurant. Awesome seeing the original garage doors and recognizing where the fire trucks would have sat in waiting. They even kept the fire pole above the bar. I found myself wishing other areas of the restaurant had been designed or decorated more intentionally to honor its soulful past. It wants to be a high class spot, but something about the interior design feels underwhelming. I enjoyed the drinks I tried although the menu seems a bit unimaginative. The energy was strange, maybe it was that night, but bar staff seemed to be a bit "altered" and on edge. One was wearing what may or may not have been an intentional cologne that smelled like the overpowering essence of hot rubber mixed with cigar smoke, and leather. I ended up ordering the fresh steelhead and it was amazing. Caesar salad was lovely. And the drink of the night was called something like a White Christmas but was sort of a wintery margarita. I found Brickhouse thanks to Yelp! and I was sold when I saw they had French Onion Soup and Blackened Ribeyes. The only problem was that it was a Sunday night and it would be 8 pm when I finally made my way there. They were open until 9 pm, but I know a lot of restaurants will close early if they don't have enough patrons. When I showed up at the restaurant I asked if they were still serving and the waitress that helped me went to check. The Manager came out and was very nice and said they were. I asked for the bar and he led me over to the bar with a menu. The bartender was incredibly nice from the get go. I should have written the review earlier, because then I would have remembered his name, but unfortunately it escapes me now. I already knew what I wanted but I didn't want to rush through it. I ordered a dirty martini and the French Onion Soup. Both were great. The soup was loaded with Gruyère, which I loved. It was rich and wasn't overwhelming with the onions. It hit the spot on this cold (to the Californian) night. The bartender recommended I try the Wagyu ribeye and I figured why not? So, I got the Blackened Wagyu Ribeye. It came with mashed potatoes and roasted veggies which were both really tasty. I like mashed potatoes, but I'm not crazy about them, but these were really good. The steak was huge and they cooked it perfectly. The blackening seasoning wasn't quite as flavorful as I am used to, but it was still good. I managed to get through the cap of the ribeye and that was delicious. I also had a glass of wine with my steak that the bartender helped me pick. Everything was really tasty, the restaurant was clean and upscale looking, and the people working there were very nice. It was the perfect way to spoil myself after transporting my foster kitten to Spokane and then driving back to California. I would definitely return if I make a trip through Bend again.
