Food tasted fine. Nothing wrong per se, but definitely not memorable. No music, no atmosphere. Waitress was ill tempered and short with us; no explanation to the menu, acted irritated when we asked questions. Really poor service experience. We came in and sat at the bar for breakfast which we were told was open seating. The bartender would not turn around and look at us. Sat for quite awhile before the bartender proceeded to try to get every server in there to serve us which they proceeded to argue loudly that it was the bartenders job and not theirs. After about 15 minutes someone came over and brought water but no menu. Arguing continued between staff so loudly that we were exceptionally uncomfortable and it was clear we were not wanted. Got up and left and went down the street to another place where we got outstanding service. As a local I will not bring anyone in here again. read more

We have seen several comments on social media about Roam; so, we decided to check it out. There is not a lot of parking in front of the restaurant. We drove around the block and found a 2 hour parking spot about a block away. My first impression upon walking in the front door was: this is a comfortable place to enjoy brunch. A young lady directed us to a booth away from the drafts from the door. She fit the relaxed, friendly atmosphere perfectly. We felt very comfortable with her style. My wife ordered Signature Breakfast with thick cut bacon. I ordered Breakfast Burrito with bacon plus sausage gravy. Both orders came with garlic herb potatoes. The hot black coffee is a local, rich, dark roast blend, excellent flavor. My wife enjoyed her breakfast. The Breakfast Burrito, according to the menu, should have been "smother[ed] in house made sausage gravy." The gravy was served on the side which turned out to be a better choice. The presentation was a beauty to behold. I tried the salsa, sour cream, and gravy on the burrito; however, it was best by itself. I ended up using the gravy on the potatoes. Now for the very slight negatives: the potatoes tasted very good; however, both of us like our breakfast potatoes crisp on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. These potatoes were a bit limp. The sausage gravy was good; but, not good enough to make me want to try the Biscuits and Gravy on our next visit. read more

Went to Roam yesterday with a friend. There was just one other couple. The service was not very good. We had to ask for our order to be taken, we had to ask for napkins, a fork and also to order another drink. About the drinks...they were not good. I ordered an Irish coffee. It was a shot of Irish whiskey in some very weak, cool coffee, that's it. My friend's Bloody Mary tasted like plain tomato juice. The appetizers were good, especially the whipped feta. read more

Worst experience ever. Showed up at 7 AM for breakfast, there were only 2-3 other tables filled. Server took our order and said she was rushing to get it in as the restaurant would be filling up and wanted to make sure we got our food. That was pretty much the last time we saw her. Waited over an hour, never got our food, she didn't even bring silverware, not that we needed it since they never brought the food. Multiple tables that arrived 20-30 minutes after us got their food, we did not. We complained to multiple waitstaff, nobody did anything...except get mad at us that we would have the audacity to complain. Since we were short on time, after waiting an hour, waitress promised to bring us some fruit and toast so that we could at least have something...and she never returned. We ate here a few nights earlier, service was also slow but not as bad as today, everything over-salted but at least the food arrived. Definitely won't be returning. read more

We went here for Christmas dinner in 2023 and it was one of the best meals I've ever had. We ordered the non-alcoholic lemon yuzu cocktail which was great. Then we had the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer. For our main courses we had the smoked half chicken and the pumpkin gnocchi with elk sausage. The smoked chicken was smoky and so flavorful and a nice way to update chicken. The pumpkin gnocchi was perfectly cooked and delicious. Our server was the most friendly and very attentive. Next time we're in Bend we'll be back! read more

Literally blown away. As a private chef myself who happened to be in Bend for the weekend, this was absolutely incredible. From the concept of the restaurant, the decor, the choice of glassware and silverware...right down to the food. One of the best dinners I have experienced in a long time. Brussel sprouts: incredible. Pappardelle: unreal. Literally an amazing job on the chefs part to cook everything to perfection. I highly recommend everything about this restaurant. Additionally (and often overlooked) they have tied all these great offerings together with an amazing staff. Truly the ambassadors of the brand, they were amazing, knowledgeable and attentive. We were three-times-a-week visitors of 10-Below for years. We were sad to see it go. But we gave Roam a shot. Five, actually. We really wanted to like this place. We're locals who like to dine out. We tip nice. Stopped in one last time today to celebrate getting not terrible news from oncologist. One server was standing against the wall looking bored, and the bartender preferred to hide in the alcove rather than (gasp) get to know his customers. My question: WHERE is management and training? These two folks seemed to be isolated from the mothership. Menu is very limited. Bartender is not trained. Ambience is meh but would warm up if management breathed some life into their project. I heard they retained some of the staff who were actually happy to see us, but I've never seen them. They need to bring them back!!! read more

I've been here three times and at first didn't have the bad experiences that other people have had. I have always gotten the pasta and really liked it. I also had really nice waiters. But this last time was ridiculous. It was a weeknight with almost nobody in the place and yet it took 45 minutes to get our meal. Our drinks were completely forgotten. At one point the waiter actually walked by our table and looked stunned we were sitting there. I mean, I know you haven't checked on us once or told us what's taking so long but you actually forgot we were here? He became sheepish and promised us our meal would be out soon. Then he delivered our food and never talked to us again. I had wanted dessert but with that kind of service we just flagged down the first waiter we could find and got the check. It sucks because I'm a local and would like to have a nice restaurant to go to and to recommend. I'm not really sure how they are screwing this place up so bad without the people in charge noticing and making some changes. Maybe they don't care because it's in a hotel so they have tourists. I'm not sure. But locals have disliked this place since day one so you think they would have made some changes by now. It's also very odd that the menu never changes. What's that about? This is Bend. We are a foodie scene. You can't keep the menu exactly the same for almost a year and think nobody will notice. read more

They are extremely friendly and have a very friendly staff. However it was hard to get waited on. We had to wait quite a while plus we never got our water filled up and I had to go find someone to get us more coffee. The coffee wasn't very hot. The meal was good we used to enjoy going to the restaurant down in the basement. But we thought we'd give this a shot. Frankly I was disappointed. Again a very friendly staff but we got waited on by three different people and no one asked us if we wanted more water or coffee even though our cup and glass were empty. Two stars, and I am being darn generous. We spent New Year's Eve here (our anniversary); the servers were most gracious....but the food was waaay below what we had come to expect from 10Below. OK...to start off, the "Seared Foie Gras" was a just a hunk of fatty liver with a nasty taste. Beautifully plated, though. Next was the cucumber salad; again beautifully plated, no taste. Next, another "no taste" dish: veal consomme...about a third of a dish; no matter, it wasn't good enough to warrant any more. Next came the best part of the meal: lime sorbet. Sad when the palate cleanser is the highlight. My husband had Beef Wellington; not remarkable and a miniscule portion. I had scallops (2) with lobster claws (overcooked). Not bad, again, nothing special. Desert was not memorable at all. Went back to our room to drink champagne and nosh on chocolates. As we checked out, the front desk person asked about our experience; we were honest about how disappointed we were in the meal. He asked for our home address and said that he would "make it right" with a gift certificate. Haven't seen it yet; just as well, we are not in a hurry to return, sadly. read more

I do brunch with my girlfriends pretty frequently and we were stoked to try this place out after having pretty good experiences at 10 Below. We made a reservation for 10am, got there and watched them clean a table for about 15 minutes in an empty restaurant. Okay? Finally got to ordering and the place slowly started to fill up, and then empty out as people got their food and left before we got ours. Honestly, fine, we ordered Benedicts etc including the crab bennie ($25! - its less than $20 at all the other brunch places in town). When we finally got our food all 3 of ours were COLD except for the potatoes? My Benedict was so salty and cold that it was barely edible, but we didnt see our waitstaff for about half an hour so we just sucked it up, payed and got lunch elsewhere. In a town that has good brunches, I'd give this glorified hotel bar a pass. read more

This is the restaurant at the Oxford Hotel which replaced 10 Below. We used to say 10 Below's breakfasts were the best kept secret in Bend. Roam is disappointing. A lot changed: the bacon, the coffee seemed weak according to my breakfast partner - and for $4 a cup it should have been hotter and stronger, the potatoes which used to be finished in a deep fryer to give them an extra crispness - were just grilled. And management does not seem to have picked up on the fact that some mature women are very put off when addressed as "You Guys". Most of the wait staff used that phrase, and it's just plain annoying...sloppy speech. We'll be ROAMING to someplace different for future breakfasts. read more

We were on a waiting list somewhere else close by and thought let's try this out instead. Kind of a mistake unfortunately. Wait staff was great and did their best. Food on the other hand was sub par. We were excited to see bone marrow on the appetizer menu but should have been cooked a bit longer as it was still bloody and the flavor just wasn't good at all. We also had the Brussels sprouts and they had such a sourness that they weren't palatable. My wife's main was the trout and while plated nicely flavor was lacking. I had the plancha chicken which is a sou vide dish but it was very dry and the only flavor was from the caramelized onion sauce the mushrooms on the side were like rubber. While plating was nice flavors all around were just ok at best. Desert was the bread pudding and was the only highlight. read more

When we asked about it, they said 10 more minutes (which likely equates to we forgot to place your order in a restaurant with 3 other tables of 4 persons or less). Server seemed genuinely nice but I am more upset that there were more experienced servers there who were not even attempting to guide what seemed like a fairly new and young server (there was a bartender, 3 servers, and we were sitting fairly close to the hostess table). read more

WOW!!!!!! my daughter and I came for the weekend to enjoy some girl time and of course we looked on Yelp to help us with our food decisions. We saw the photo of the lemon poppyseed pancakes and decided to split those with a side of bacon. We also chose to have the Oregon rambler cocktail, I cannot say enough from the moment we sat down we had the best service by our waiter Anthony to when I came in to use the restroom which is located in the hotel and it's absolutely beautiful to the presentation of the food and the cocktail this restaurant is a five star for me, and by the way, we will be back tomorrow morning for a repeat read more

We had a disappointing experience with Roam. I made a reservation for a party of 6; drinks were ordered at different times (no issues there) and we all ordered food at the same time. I specifically wanted to go to Roam for their Burger Week special. The server was taking our order, my husband says "I'll take a burger", and I say "I will also take a burger". Server asks if we want fries. I said yes we'll split them. Fast forward to the food coming out - we were only brought one burger. There was a miscommunication and the server understood it as "we are sharing the burger and fries". No I clearly said that I wanted one too, but NBD, he advised they'd send one right out. 15, 20, 30 minutes go by and still no food. At this point the server hadn't checked on us since bringing out the initial order, and it actually seemed like he was avoiding our table. Well everyone else got done eating, almost an hour past and still no meal. Someone in our group asked about my burger and it genuinely looked like the server forgot. I ended up getting my meal comped and burger to go, but it was a really disappointing experience. I've been a server before so we weren't being mean or rude - i just kept waiting for the server to do his job. Unfortunately I won't be going back. Two stars because the drinks were good. read more
