After living in Bend for a while and being told over and over to try Americana I finally gave it a try today, and all I can say is I'm mad I didn't try it sooner. As most Bend residents know, it's hard to find a meal that is both good and affordable in this town, you really have to search. Recently we have seen many of our favorite food trucks and restaurants raise their prices 15-25% over night, making it really hard to continue to be a loyal customer... not Americana though. All in all, this was a really good burger. This is a smashburger so that means you aren't going to get to cook the burger meat to your specifications, but rest assured, it's still fairly tasty. The addition of caramelized onions adds a little bit of a smoky component, and I've always had a preference for brioche bun hamburgers. The secret sauce is indeed secret, but it added another layer to the burger. Add into the experience that you are right next to a number of drinking establishments, other food trucks, and a nice outdoor space that is super dog and kid friendly.
