Ah. I wondered why I really thought they had gluten free buns but when I visited, they didn't. Now I see it- the picture of their menu on here says gluten free buns available. Well, now we know that is outdated and they no longer have them. I was super sad. I got my burger week burger on a bed of arugula. It did taste good. The cheese/sauce/arugula went together. Visited Bend for the weekend and our friends took us out to try their local favorite food truck. It was DELICIOUS! Best. Fries. Ever. Seriously, I've had duck fat fries in a dozen places, including on top of the space needle (before they got rid of the restaurant) and these fries are by FAR the best I've had. Much better experience this time. Went for an early lunch. Had a hankering for fries so I figure I'd give Bleu Rooster another try. Service was friendly and fast. Fries were cooked perfectly, salted just right and the truffle aioli went well with the fries. I enjoyed it with my pomegranate cider. My partner in crime loved it as well. (tourist review) What's Good: The P.B.L.T. (Pork Belly Lettuce Tomato) was delicious, but something about Pork Belly makes it a shared dish for me. Very well-made sandwich, especially with the Pomme Frites on the side. Just tell them to go easy on the salt for the fries though. The Reuben is something that seems to be popular here, so would be on my list for next time. Other Notes: located at On Tap, which is one of the half-dozen food truck pods in Bend. This one is nearby the Costco and Whole Foods, so could be a planned trip if you're in the area around lunchtime or just want a beer. Had a disappointing experience at this food truck. Was waiting outside to be helped and kept getting ignored by the guy working inside. Not much else was open so I patiently waited. Another girl came up to the truck and rudely cut in front of me, before I had a chance to say anything to her the man opened the window and took her order before mine. I was annoyed by that, but whatever, my order was taken and I was satisfied. I ordered the P.B.L.T sandwich and added a side of sweet potato fries. Total price was $16, a little steep in my opinion but I figured the food would be worth it. I tipped 20%, bringing the cost to nearly $20. I always tip this much, I know times are tough in the food industry and I used to be a server. I expected a good meal, but I was incredibly disappointed. The sandwich was tiny, the pork belly was just a small thin slice of pork. It was missing the pickled onions and bacon jam. There was barely any aioli and not much flavor going on. Fries were okay, but not worth the extra $4. I'd give this place another shot, but spending $20 on a meal for just myself isn't something I do often, especially when it's takeout from a food truck. read more

I'm 54 and I've never had corned beef so tender. The roll soft and fresh with just the right amount of kraut and cheese. I do love a sloppy ruben with extra sauce, which this is not, but dang it's close if not perfection. Ordered with a side of fries, which I found to be way too salty, but fantastic seasoning. My friend had a gyro which looked fantastic. Everyone coming in looked like they had something great from all of the carts and the outdoor/indoor seating was so nice and warm on a cold day. Absolutely love this spot. It's along the row of food carts/trucks at the parking lot of On Tap. I've been there a few time and I've had a couple of different plates including a Rueben sandwich, a ahi tuna poke bowl, and a pork belly lettuce tomato sandwich, all of which were incredible. They also have some great fries to with it. The team running it do a great job of getting your order ready in a timely fashion, while also maintaining a high level of quality. Yum, yum! We ordered from Bend takeout (great folks) for the first time trying this cart. When the food arrives it was well packaged and still warm, even the fries. We had the pork belly sandwich and a Gyro with fries. When I was ordering you could add extra meat... that is the only thing I regret that pork belly sandwich was awesome and next time I order extra meat. I decided to support our local food businesses but trying out the local food trucks. I was hungry for a Philly Cheese Steak. They were CLOSED!!! I was seriously bummed!! I decided to try the Bleu Rooster food truck & got a Reuben Sandwich & the Pommes Frites for my friend & a Gyro for myself. What a treat!!! The Reuben was loaded with meat & excellent homemade dressing, the fries were perfectly, well, fried! The seasoning on them was terrific (comes with a dusting of truffle & several other yummy herbs) & it came with a great homemade Aioli . My Gyro was PERFECT!!! The Tzatzki sauce was amazing, & the meat was both cooked & seasoned (in my never to be humble opinion the 3 easiest things to screw up with a Gyro). I have found a new favorite lunch place! I can't wait to try the other offerings on their menu I highly recommend checking them out they are located near Cafe Yum in NE Bend kind of behind Fagen's. read more

Not Covid compliant in my opinion! I have not eaten out since stay at home orders have been in place but wanted to treat my Mom to something special on Mother's Day. (She lives with me so we have been co-Quarenteening for eight weeks now) We went to check out the carts located here to chose dinner because it was highlighted on last nights news broadcast and I thought it would be great to also support local businesses while treating Mom to a restaurant quality meal. We wore our masks and mom made her choice, The Blue Rooster! We were given our buzzer to hold which was to notify us when our food was ready. The cook had gloves on but no mask. Three orders came out in quick succession and each customer handed back their buzzer to the gloved cook who went right back to touching the food. How many people had touched those buzzers?? I noticed that not only was he not sanitizing the buzzers each time they were handled but he was not changing his gloves or sanitizing them with solution before touching food. I am a former local restaurant owner myself and this would not pass inspection in the best of times much less a pandemic. We grabbed our food and as we made our way back to the car my Mom urged me to return the food and ask for a refund. The food was not cheap. $30 for two plates and a side of fries. The food was decent not amazing. Pomme frites were thick normal fries and not the way I know pomme frites. Here's hoping I didn't give Mom more than just dinner for Mother's Day!! read more
