Been here many times. Very relaxed nice spot. Lots of seating inside and out. Dog friendly patio. 5 food trucks. Personally I've only tried the Mexican And Thai food which are delicious. Definitely recommend if you are in East Bend. Parking is not the best, when it's busy you have to park in a gravel lot. Other than that I enjoy this spot! read more

River's Place has become our favorite weekend lunch place. Very friendly people. Good beer selection, 6 food trucks including Dreams rolled ice cream truck which is a big hit for the whole family and the best hoagie truck in town. Hogan's hoagie is my favorite but the Jersey and the Murray were pretty good too. Actually, my husband insists the Jersey was the best. We also tried Bluma's chicken and waffles. I thought their chicken was just ok, breading a little overcooked for my liking. Our friends loved the mini sliders from Nik's snacks but their fries were salty. Have not tried Sopa and the Italian food trucks yet. Can't wait to go back for another hoagie or maybe try something else, a serving of rolled ice cream for my mini me and a pint or 2 for the Mister. read more

There's a new food truck pod in town, located on Purcell across from Costco. - River's Place stands out from the others (On Tap, The Lot, The Podski) in that it features a fully closed space for winter-time imbibing, with a gas fire pit for those hardier souls. - Tap list is not extensive but features quite a few varieties, which also means that if you like only a couple of styles of beer, it's limited. They have wine, too. - Seating is a small bar with several high tops in the room and a comfy two-seater sofa tucked in an alcove. Really cute space for tap drinking. I actually enjoyed a mimosa with huckleberry lemon cider with Prosecco. $8 and delicious! I will definitely come back during colder weather, the indoor space with garage doors and open windows was super inviting but could easily see in non/ coming vis time a super comfy space inside. The environment is very Bend, the tap list will suit near anyone, and the family friendly patio is perfect, especially for explorative youngins... Service at River's is awesome in a modern drive-in way Muay (haha) Thai was disappointing, but not overly so. But the yardstick for Thai ( yep, been there ) is Pad Thai. Only tried the yardstick and the Rangoon (which was deep fried and delicious, naturally). The 'Merican grill stuff is awesome. The Mexi is awesome. (tourist review) What's Good: enjoy the nice environment with beers and lunch at one of the food trucks. It's one of the half-dozen food truck pods in Bend. The one is nearby the Costco and Whole Foods, so could be a planned trip if you're in the area around lunchtime or just want a beer. There was about a dozen beers for us to choose from, many of them local. We really enjoyed Sunny's Carrello. Their 'Bronx Tale' Pasta was simple and delicious. The Radicchio + Arugula Salad (with no onions and blue cheese for us) and Garlic bread made a great companion to the meal. Bluma's Chicken and Waffles was really good. We had the Half Bird and the chicken was perfectly cooked. Very moist on the inside. We don't like white meat but we would eat it here again and again. Paired with a fluffy waffles, it's the best way to eat chicken. The spicy sauce isn't very spicy, more sweet. But still good for dipping. Hogan's Hoagies and Sopa were other good options, but Sunny's was a standout for us. If you go to Sopa's, I'd recommend the Birria Tacos, they were excellent. read more

Finally came here. Inside seating is bigger than expected, but ho hum interior. NO happy hour, so $6 and $7 pints. Selection of beers was uninspiring and didn't show IBUs. They also sell Ranier and Coors Light for $3, and I was surprised by the number of guys drinking them. I'm a fan of Rivers Place, in general. "We're the wurst", a gourmet sausage truck is now gone, and a few new trucks have swapped in. Makes me wonder if the newer pod on the other side of the hospital area, called "On Tap" is stealing their business. Had the Hogan's hoodie the other day. Roasted turkey was generous, salami was tasty, grilled onions added something, the provolone cheese provided a gooey texture but not much flavor and the slaw was crunchy, but mild. The bun, Big Ed's was excellent. Overall impression, large sando, generous portions of turkey etc., and a mild overall flavor. Guess that's what I should expect from a turkey sand. This place is AMAZING. My husband and I were visiting our family in Bend, took a mile stroll to go to brewed awakenings & stumbled upon the food trucks and were like "we definitely have to come back later" so, we did! My whole family, my husband & myself, grabbed some beers, I personally had a cider and it was so yummy & we also had THE BEST pizza at the food truck just steps away called Red Road, my fave was the chicken choke but my sister has told me the pepperoni was of course very good as well. Anyways, since this day back in early February, my family has told all of their friends and they now REGULARLY (almost DAILY) come here to play trivia, snack on some delicious food and enjoy their exceptional beer choices. I'm so happy we discovered this place and that it's made the locals of Bend happy & is now their new hangout spot! Can't wait to come back in June! read more

Went for Sunday trivia. Well that was a blast. Kid friendly, dog friendly and trivia was so fun. They even had happy hour during trivia. Didn't try the food but no complaints about the beers or HH pricing. This place gets busy if you want to sit inside. I have a feeling this place will get busy during spring and summer. There are so many tap houses in Bend it's crazy. So reviewing one you have to compare to the others. River's Place is small but still room for a bunch of folks to hang out. They don't have as many food carts as they used to. The beer selection is more limited than some of the other tap houses. A little indoor section is available if you want to sit down inside , with clean restrooms. Speaking of small the main problem here is parking, good luck. read more

There is a lot of competition in this category and it's an excellent place to hang out regardless of the season. Only thing I'd change is more beer selection and maybe more fire pit areas outside as they don't use them as often as I'd like. Revamped selection of brews, including sour ale, and cider. More higher quality choices now than there was when they opened...I think they might have a barrel aged ale and hard kombucha too? I dont remember-- but I do recall seeing some excellent ales on tap. With 5 unique food carts, this place is a foodie's playground! Nice indoor seating incase you were wondering. They have a Wubba's BBQ, Jerk Kings, We're the Würst, Red Road Pizza, and Hogan's Hogie Stop-- which is my absolute favorite! The sandwich guy at Hogan's understands hoagie science, so I highly recommend that whatever you order, you get it the way he makes it. All the ingredients are well thought out and perfectly proportionate on each sammy...they all pair well with a Crux pilsner. Sorry, I haven't taken any pictures of the trucks yet-- the weather has been bad lately so I couldn't get any flattering shots. Then the Coleslaw inside, what so freaking good!!! Terrible way to feel in your home town. My husband and I have visited here a few times and the service has been ok, not great. We visited tonight to experience some live music and as we found a seat at the bar the owner approached us and asked if my husband and I were smoking marijuana at "his" bar. Not only was this discriminatory and disrespectful, but we felt very uncomfortable and violated. My husband and I both do not smoke marijuana, nor would we ever consider doing so in a public establishment if we did. When we defended ourselves at an outrageous claim - we were responded to with a condescending wave and the comment of "bye-bye" as we left our full and paid for drinks at "his" bar. I'm astonished at the lack of respect and outward discrimination we experienced at this establishment. We have lived in Bend for 30 years and have never experienced anything as disrespectful as this. I will never spend another dollar here and I hope those reading this will consider spending their money elsewhere as well. read more
