Easy, no stress, and it still feels like a treat at the end of the day. Tips: The combos are the way to go if you want a ton of food and some variation. It's the easiest way to try a little of everything without spending a fortune. Don't forget the coleslaw and sides! Think ahead about buns and sides if you're planning to stretch it into multiple meals. We keep fresh buns at home and toast them for each round, then reheat the pulled pork and pile it on with coleslaw - so good and enough food to last us a few days. To pair, throw together quick nachos (tortilla chips, shredded cheese, sliced black olives) in the microwave for 60 seconds - pair with sour cream and salsas you like! At home, if you're heating the potatoes, add a little butter on top before warming them up. It keeps everything moist and brings the flavor back to life. PSA: I love that it's an older Bend staple. Baldy's hasn't changed in the 26 years I've been going, and I had no clue it opened in 2005 as well (according to Bend Source)! It feels good supporting a place that's been around for that long, especially with the cost and quality control that comes with good meat. Their house bbq sauce is just fine. - Small side of beans (not actually small). Pretty good beans too. Not spicy, which again I think is proper. You can add hot sauce if you like yours kicked up a notch. Bottle of Shiner Bock completed the meal. Hadn't had a Shiner Bock in a long while. It's a good beer and very much Texan. BBQ done right isn't something you find much in Central Oregon (but there are some decent places), so Runaround Sue is a welcome addition to Bend.

(To be honest, growing up in GA, I never really cared for pulled pork in TX anyway, but this was different). Six juvenile crawfish with no flavor were tough, dry and flavorless. Wife and I each had one and didn't.want any more. We pushed ourselves through another one, but I was offered the last one. I said you couldn't pay me to eat more. Rule of thumb if you work for somebody, you better get some cheerleading training and be excited about both answering the phone and telling people about your place, and your offerings. Rule two: people are not stupid just cause they're a long way away from where good food is prepared and served. At the very least you shouldn't plan on that as a business strategy. $15 should get you a pound and a half if not, 2 pounds of nice spicy hot crawfish with corn and potatoes.
